ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl dbyth elykwn mry' d'mr pthgm' shmew
Hear the word which Yahweh speaks to you, house of Israel!

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܠܦܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܐ̈ܬܘܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܚܠܝܢ ܡܢܗܝܢ
mnhyn dkhlyn hw demm' mTl thdkhlwn l' dshmy' 'thwth' wmn th'lpwn l' demm' 'wrkh' mry' 'mr hkn'
Yahweh says, “Don’t learn the way of the nations, and don’t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.

ܡܛܠ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܩܝܣܐ ܡܢ ܥܒܐ ܦܣܝܩ ܥܒܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܢܓܪܐ ܒܥܫܦܐ
beshp' ngr' 'ydy ebd psyq eb' mn dqys' mTl 'nyn mdm l' demm' ddkhlth' mTl
For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the ax.

ܒܟܣܦܐ ܘܒܕܗܒܐ ܩܪܝܡܝܢ ܒܩ̈ܦܠܘܛܐ ܘܒܨ̈ܨܐ ܡܫܪܪܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܦܪܩܘܢ
nthprqwn dl' lhwn mshrryn wbtsts' bqplwT' qrymyn wbdhb' bksp'
They deck it with silver and with gold. They fasten it with nails and with hammers, so that it can’t move.

ܐܝܟ ܕܩ̈ܠܐ ܙܩܝܦܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢ ܡܫܩܠ ܫܩܠܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܘܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܒܐܫܝܢ ܐܦܠܐ ܡܛܐܒܝܢ
mT'byn 'pl' mb'shyn dl' mTl mnhwn thdkhlwn l' mhlkyn dl' mTl lhwn shqlyn mshql mmllyn wl' zqypyn dql' 'yk
They are like a palm tree, of turned work, and don’t speak. They must be carried, because they can’t move. Don’t be afraid of them; for they can’t do evil, neither is it in them to do good.”

ܠܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܪܒ ܐܢܬ ܘܪܒ ܫܡܟ ܒܓܢܒܪܘܬܐ
bgnbrwth' shmk wrb 'nth drb mry' 'kwthk lyth
There is no one like you, Yahweh. You are great, and your name is great in might.

ܡ̇ܢ ܠܐ ܢܕܚܠ ܠܟ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥ̈ܠܡܐ ܕܠܟ ܗܘ ܝܐܝܐ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܟܝ̈ܡܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܒܟܠܗ̇ ܡܠܟܘܬܗܘܢ ܠܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܟ
'kwthk lyth mlkwthhwn wbklh demm' khkym' dbklhwn mTl mlkwth' y'y' hw dlk elm' dklhwn mlk' lk ndkhl l' mn
Who shouldn’t fear you, King of the nations? For it belongs to you. Because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is no one like you.

ܘܐܟܚܕܐ ܢܐܒܕܘܢ ܘܢܣܘܦܘܢ ܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܣܪ̈ܝܩܐ ܕܕܚ̈ܠܬܐ ܕܩܝܣܐ
dqys' ddkhlth' sryq' ywlpn' wnswpwn n'bdwn w'kkhd'
But they are together brutish and foolish, instructed by idols! It is just wood.

ܣܐܡܐ ܛܒܐ ܡܢ ܬܪܫܝܫ ܐܬܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܦܝܪ ܥܒܕ ܢܓܪܐ ܘܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܩܝܢܝܐ ܬܟܠܬܐ ܘܐܪܓܘܢܐ ܠܒܘܫܗܘܢ ܙܩܘܪܐ ܕܚ̈ܟܝܡܐ
dkhkym' zqwr' lbwshhwn w'rgwn' thklth' qyny' w'ydy ngr' ebd 'wpyr mn wdhb' 'th' thrshysh mn Tb' s'm'
There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the engraver and of the hands of the goldsmith. Their clothing is blue and purple. They are all the work of skillful men.

ܘܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܩܘܫܬܐ ܗܘܝܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܚ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܠܟܐ ܕܥ̈ܠܡܐ ܡܢ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܙܝܥܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܚܡܣܢܝܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܪܘܓܙܗ
rwgzh emm' mkhmsnyn wl' 're' zye' rwgzh mn delm' wmlk' dkhy' 'lh' hwyw dqwshth' 'lh' wmry'
But Yahweh is the true God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth trembles. The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation.

כדנה תאמרון להום אלהיא די שמיא וארקא לא עבדו יאבדו מארעא ומן תחות שמיא אלה {ס}

“You shall say this to them: ‘The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.’”

ܡܪܝܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܪܥܐ ܒܚܝܠܗ ܘܐܬܩܢ ܬܒܝܠ ܒܚܟܡܬܗ ܘܒܬܪܥܝܬܗ ܡܬܚ ܫܡܝܐ
shmy' mthkh wbthreythh bkhkmthh thbyl w'thqn bkhylh 're' ebd mry'
God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens.

ܝܗܒ ܩܠܐ ܕܐܪܓܘܫܝܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܡܣܩ ܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܣܘ̈ܦܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܒܪ̈ܩܐ ܠܡܛܪܐ ܥܒܕ ܡܦܩ ܪ̈ܘܚܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܨܪ̈ܘܗܝ
'wtsrwhy mn rwkh' mpq ebd lmTr' wbrq' d're' swpyh mn enn' msq bshmy' dmy' d'rgwshy' ql' yhb
When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.

ܫܛܐ ܟܠ ܒܪܢܫ ܡܢ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܒܗܬܘ ܟܠ ܥܒܕܝ ܕܗܒܐ ܡܢ ܓܠܝ̈ܦܐ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܡܛܠ ܕܫܘܩܪܐ ܢܣܟܘ ܘܪܘܚܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ
bhwn lyth wrwkh' nskw dshwqr' mTl debdw glyp' mn dhb' ebdy kl bhthw ydeth' mn brnsh kl shT'
Every man has become brutish and without knowledge. Every goldsmith is disappointed by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܥܒ̈ܕܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܫ̈ܛܝܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܡܬܦܩܕܝܢ ܢܐܒܕܘܢ
n'bdwn dmthpqdyn bzbn' shTy' 'nwn webd' 'nwn mdm l'
They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.

ܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܡܢܬܗ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ ܡܛܠ ܕܡ̇ܢ ܕܒܪܐ ܟܘܠ ܗܘܝܘ ܡܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܫܒܛܐ ܕܝܪܬܘܬܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܫܡܗ
shmh khylthn' mry' dyrthwthh shbT' w'ysryl mnthhwn hwyw kwl dbr' dmn mTl dyeqwb mnthh dhlyn 'yk l'
The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the maker of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance. Yahweh of Armies is his name.

ܟܢܫܝ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܨܥܪܟܝ ܝܬܒܬ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ

Gather up your wares out of the land, you who live under siege.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܐ ܡܥܪܩܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܗܕܐ ܒܙܒܢܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܢܒܥܘܢܢܝ ܘܢܫܟܚܘܢܢܝ
wnshkkhwnny dnbewnny hn' bzbn' hd' d're' lemwryh 'n' merql h' mry' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For Yahweh says, “Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel it.”

ܘܝ ܠܝ ܥܠ ܬܒܪܝ ܟܝܒܐ ܗܝ ܡܚܘܬܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܡܪܬ ܗܢܘ ܟܐܒܝ ܐܣܝܒܪܝܘܗܝ
'sybrywhy k'by hnw 'mrth w'n' mkhwthy hy kyb' thbry el ly wy
Woe is me because of my injury! My wound is serious; but I said, “Truly this is my grief, and I must bear it.”

ܡܫܟܢܝ ܐܬܒܙܙ ܘܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܛܘܢ̈ܒܘܗܝ ܐܬܦܣܩܘ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܢܦܩܘ ܡܢܝ ܘܠܝܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܝܬ ܕܢܩܫ ܬܘܒ ܡܫܟܢܝ ܘܡܩܝܡ ܝܪ̈ܝܥܬܝ

My tent has been destroyed, and all my cords are broken. My children have gone away from me, and they are no more. There is no one to spread my tent any more, to set up my curtains.

ܡܛܠ ܕܫܛܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܘܠܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܒܥܘ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܐܟܫܪܘ ܟܘܠܗ ܡܪܥܝܬܗܘܢ ܐܬܒܕܪܬ
'thbdrth mreythhwn kwlh 'kshrw dl' mTl bew l' wlmry' rewth' dshTw mTl
For the shepherds have become brutish, and have not inquired of Yahweh. Therefore they have not prospered, and all their flocks have scattered.

ܩܠܐ ܕܫܡܘܥܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܘܙܘܥܐ ܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܓܪܒܝܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܡܥܡܪܐ ܠܝܪ̈ܘܪܐ
lyrwr' memr' lkhwrb' dyhwd' qwry' lmebd dgrby' 're' mn rb' wzwe' 'th' h' dshmweth' ql'
The voice of news, behold, it comes, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, a dwelling place of jackals.

ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܘܪܚܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܘܡܬܩܢ ܨܒܘܬܗ
tsbwthh wmthqn d'zl gbr' 'yk wl' dbrnsh' 'yk hwy l' dmry' d'wrkhthh 'n' yde
Yahweh, I know that the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

ܪܕܝܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܪܘܓܙܟ ܕܠܡܐ ܬܙܥܪܢܝ

Yahweh, correct me, but gently; not in your anger, lest you reduce me to nothing.

ܐܫܘܕ ܚܡܬܟ ܥܠ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܘܟ ܘܥܠ ܫܪ̈ܒܬܐ ܕܒܫܡܟ ܠܐ ܩܪ̈ܝ ܕܐܟܠܘܗܝ ܠܝܥܩܘܒ ܐܟܠܘܗܝ ܘܓܡܪܘܗܝ ܘܕܝܪܗ ܐܚܪܒܘ
'khrbw wdyrh wgmrwhy 'klwhy lyeqwb d'klwhy qry l' dbshmk shrbth' wel ydewk dl' emm' el khmthk 'shwd
Pour out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you, and on the families that don’t call on your name; for they have devoured Jacob. Yes, they have devoured him, consumed him, and have laid waste his habitation.
