ܥܡܐ ܕܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܒܚܫܘܟܐ ܚܙܘ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܕܝ̇ܬܒܝܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕ̈ܛܠܠܝ ܡܘܬܐ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܢܚ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn dnkh nwhr' mwth' dTlly b're' wdythbyn rb' nwhr' khzw bkhshwk' dmhlkyn em'
But there shall be no more gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time, he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali; but in the latter time he has made it glorious, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.

ܐܣܓܝܬ ܥܡܐ ܘܠܗ ܐܘܪܒܬ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܚܕܝܘ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܐܝܟ ܗ̇ܢܘܢ ܕܚ̇ܕܝܢ ܒܚܨܕܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܗ̇ܢܘܢ ܕܕܝ̇ܨܝܢ ܡܐ ܕܡܦܠܓܝܢ ܒܙܬܐ
bzth' dmplgyn m' ddytsyn hnwn w'yk bkhtsd' dkhdyn hnwn 'yk qdmyk khdyw khdwth' 'wrbth wlh em' 'sgyth
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. The light has shined on those who lived in the land of the shadow of death.

ܡܛܠ ܕܢܝܪܐ ܕܫܘܥܒܕܗܘܢ ܘܚܘܛܪܐ ܕܟܬܦܗܘܢ ܘܫܒܛܐ ܕܡܫܥܒܕ ܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܬܒܪܬ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܡܕܝܢ
dmdyn ywm' 'yk thbrth lhwn hw' dmshebd wshbT' dkthphwn wkhwTr' dshwebdhwn dnyr' mTl
You have multiplied the nation. You have increased their joy. They rejoice before you according to the joy in harvest, as men rejoice when they divide the plunder.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠ ܩܠ ܐܫܬܡܥ ܒܙܘܥܬܐ ܘܢܚܬܐ ܡܦܠܦܠ ܒܕܡܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܠܝܩܕܢܐ ܘܠܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ

For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as in the day of Midian.

ܡܛܠ ܕܝܠܕܐ ܐܬܝܠܕ ܠܢ ܘܒܪܐ ܐܬܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܘܗܘܐ ܫܘܠܛܢܗ ܥܠ ܟܬܦܗ ܘܐܬܩܪܝ ܫܡܗ ܕܘܡܪܐ ܘܡܠܘܟܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܓܢܒܪܐ ܕܥ̈ܠܡܐ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ
dshlm' shlyT' delm' gnbr' 'lh' wmlwk' dwmr' shmh w'thqry kthph el shwlTnh whw' ln 'thyhb wbr' ln 'thyld dyld' mTl
For all the armor of the armed man in the noisy battle, and the garments rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.

ܠܡܣܓܝܘ ܫܘܠܛܢܗ ܘܠܫܠܡܗ ܠܝܬ ܣܟܐ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܘܥܠ ܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܢܬܩܢܝܗ̇ ܘܢܣܡܟܝܗ̇ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܘܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܛܢܢܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܥܒ̇ܕ ܗܕܐ
hd' ebd khylthn' dmry' Tnnh lelm wedm' mkyl wbzdyqwth' bdyn' wnsmkyh dnthqnyh mlkwthh wel ddwyd kwrsyh el sk' lyth wlshlmh shwlTnh lmsgyw
For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

ܦܬܓܡܐ ܫܕܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܢܦܠ ܒܐܝܣܪܝܠ
b'ysryl wnpl byeqwb mry' shdr pthgm'
Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this.

ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܫܡܪܝܢ ܒܓܐܝܘܬܐ ܘܒܪܒܘܬ ܠܒܐ ܘܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ
w'mryn lb' wbrbwth bg'ywth' dshmryn wemwryh 'prym klhwn emm' wndewn
The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it falls on Israel.

ܠܒ̈ܢܐ ܢܪܡܐ ܘܢܓܙܘܪ ܓܙܝܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܢܦܣܘܩ ܫܩ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܪ̈ܙܐ ܢܚܠܘܦ
nkhlwp w'rz' shqm' wnpswq gzyrth' wngzwr nrm' lbn'
All the people will know, including Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart,

ܘܢܥܫܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ̈ܠܘܨܘܗܝ ܕܪܨܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܠܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܘܗܝ ܢܓܪܓ

“The bricks have fallen, but we will build with cut stone. The sycamore fig trees have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.”

ܠܐܕܘܡ ܡܢ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܠܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܡܥܪܒܐ ܘܢܐܟܠܘܢܗ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܟܠܗ ܦܘܡܗܘܢ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܦܟ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܬܘܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܪܡܐ
rm' 'ydh wthwb rwgzh hpk l' klhyn wbhlyn pwmhwn bklh l'ysryl wn'klwnh merb' mn wlplshthy' mdnkh' mn l'dwm
Therefore Yahweh will set up on high against him the adversaries of Rezin, and will stir up his enemies,

ܘܥܡܐ ܠܐ ܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܒܠܥܘ ܘܠܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܠܐ ܒܥܘ
bew l' khylthn' wlmry' dblew edm' 'thpnyw l' wem'
The Syrians in front, and the Philistines behind; and they will devour Israel with open mouth. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

ܘܐܘܒܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܪܝܫܐ ܘܕܢܘܒܬܐ ܘܕܢܘܒܬܐ ܘܪܝܫܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܚܕ
khd bywm' wrysh' wdnwbth' wdnwbth' rysh' 'ysryl mn mry' w'wbd
Yet the people have not turned to him who struck them, neither have they sought Yahweh of Armies.

ܣܒܐ ܘܗܕܝܪ ܐ̈ܦܐ ܗܘܝܘ ܪܝܫܐ ܘܢܒܝܐ ܕܡܠܦ ܫܘܩܪܐ ܗܘܝܘ ܕܢܘܒܬܐ
dnwbth' hwyw shwqr' dmlp wnby' rysh' hwyw 'p' whdyr sb'
Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in one day.

ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܛܐ̈ܒܢܘܗܝ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܡܛܥܝܢ ܘܡܛܒܥܝܢ ܠܗ

The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܠܐ ܢܚܕܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܥܠܝܡ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܝܬ̈ܡܝܗܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܐܪ̈ܡܠܬܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܪܚܦ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܠܦܝܢ ܘܒܝܫܝܢ ܘܟܠ ܦܘܡ ܡܡܠܠ ܫܛܝܘܬܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܦܟ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܬܘܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܪܡܐ
rm' 'ydh wthwb rwgzh hpk l' klhyn wbhlyn shTywth' mmll pwm wkl wbyshyn khlpyn dklhwn mTl nrkhp l' 'rmlthhwn wel ythmyhwn wel elymyhwn el mry' nkhd' l' hn' mTl
For those who lead this people lead them astray; and those who are led by them are destroyed.

ܡܛܠ ܕܣܦܬ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܬܐܟܘܠ ܝܥܪܐ ܘܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܘܬܣܦ ܒܣܘ̈ܟܐ ܕܥܒܐ ܘܢܬܥܪܩܠܘܢ ܓܒ̈ܝܐ ܒܬܢܢܐ
bthnn' gby' wntherqlwn deb' bswk' wthsp wkwb' yer' wth'kwl nwr' 'yk khTyth' dspth mTl
Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

ܒܟܐܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܙܥܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܥܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܐܟܠܬܗ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܓܒܪ ܥܠ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܢܚܘܣ
nkhws l' 'khwhy el wgbr nwr' d'klthh hw 'yk em' whw' 're' zeth khylthn' dmry' bk'thh
For wickedness burns like a fire. It devours the briers and thorns; yes, it kindles in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.

ܘܢܓܙܘܪ ܥܠ ܝܡܝܢܗ ܘܢܟܦܢ ܘܢܐܟܘܠ ܥܠ ܣܡܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܣܒܥܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܒܣܪܐ ܕܕܪܥܗ ܢܐܟܘܠ
n'kwl ddreh bsr' gbr nsbewn wl' smlh el wn'kwl wnkpn ymynh el wngzwr
Through Yahweh of Armies’ wrath, the land is burned up; and the people are the fuel for the fire. No one spares his brother.

ܡܢܫܐ ܠܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܐܦܪܝܡ ܠܡܢܫܐ ܘܐܟܚܕܐ ܥܠ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܦܟ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܬܘܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܪܡܐ
rm' 'ydh wthwb rwgzh hpk l' klhyn wbhlyn yhwd' el w'kkhd' lmnsh' w'prym l'prym mnsh'
One will devour on the right hand, and be hungry; and he will eat on the left hand, and they will not be satisfied. Everyone will eat the flesh of his own arm:
