ܘܗܘܐ ܒܝܘ̈ܡܬܗ ܕܐܚܙ ܒܪ ܝܘܬܡ ܒܪ ܥܘܙܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܣܠܩ ܪܨܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܪܡ ܘܦܩܚ ܒܪ ܪܘܡܠܝܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܠܡܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܕܢܬܟܬܫܘܢ ܥܠܝܗ̇

In the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

ܘܐܬܐܡܪ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܕܘܝܕ ܕܐܫܬܘܝ ܐܪܡ ܥܡ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܙܥ ܠܒܗ ܘܠܒܐ ܕܥܡܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܙܝ̇ܥܝܢ ܐܝ̈ܠܢܐ ܕܥܒܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܪܘܚܐ

David’s house was told, “Syria is allied with Ephraim.” His heart trembled, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest tremble with the wind.

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܐܫܥܝܐ ܦܘܩ ܠܐܘܪܥܗ ܕܐܚܙ ܐܢܬ ܘܫܪܢܫܘܒ ܒܪܟ ܥܠ ܓܢܒ ܝܡܬܐ ܥܠܝܬܐ ܕܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚܩܠܗ ܕܩܨܪܐ
dqtsr' dkhqlh db'wrkh' elyth' ymth' gnb el brk wshrnshwb 'nth d'khz l'wreh pwq l'shey' mry' w'mr
Then Yahweh said to Isaiah, “Go out now to meet Ahaz, you, and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, on the highway of the fuller’s field.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܐܙܕܗܪ ܘܫܠܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠ ܘܠܒܟ ܠܐ ܢܬܘܪ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܕܘܢܒ̈ܬܐ ܐܘ̈ܕܐ ܡܚܪ̈ܟܐ ܡܢ ܚܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܪܨܢ ܘܕܒܪ ܪܘܡܠܝܐ
rwmly' wdbr drtsn drwgzh khmth' mn mkhrk' 'wd' dwnbth' thryn hlyn mn nthwr l' wlbk thdkhl wl' wshly 'zdhr lh w'mr
Tell him, ‘Be careful, and keep calm. Don’t be afraid, neither let your heart be faint because of these two tails of smoking torches, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

ܚܠܦ ܕܐܬܡܠܟܘ ܥܠܝܟ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܐܪܡ ܘܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܒܪ ܪܘܡܠܝܐ ܘܐܡܪܘ
w'mrw rwmly' wbr w'prym 'rm byshth' elyk d'thmlkw khlp
Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have plotted evil against you, saying,

ܢܣܩ ܠܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܢܥܩܪܝܗ̇ ܘܢܬܪܥܝܗ̇ ܘܢܡܠܟ ܒܗ̇ ܡܠܟܐ ܠܒܪ ܛܒܐܝܠ
Tb'yl lbr mlk' bh wnmlk wnthreyh wneqryh lyhwd' nsq
“Let’s go up against Judah, and tear it apart, and let’s divide it among ourselves, and set up a king within it, even the son of Tabeel.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܬܩܘܡ ܘܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ
thhw' wl' thqwm l' 'lh' mry' 'mr hkn'
This is what the Lord Yahweh says: “It shall not stand, neither shall it happen.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܪܝܫܐ ܕܐܪܡ ܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܘܪܝܫܐ ܕܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܪܨܢ ܘܒܬܪ ܫܬܝܢ ܘܚܡܫ ܫ̈ܢܝܢ ܢܬܪ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܡܢ ܥܡܐ
em' mn 'prym nthr shnyn wkhmsh shthyn wbthr rtsn ddrmswq wrysh' drmswq d'rm drysh' mTl
For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin. Within sixty-five years Ephraim shall be broken in pieces, so that it shall not be a people.

ܘܪܝܫܐ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ ܫܡܪܝܢ ܘܪܝܫܐ ܕܫܡܪܝܢ ܒܪ ܪܘܡܠܝܐ ܘܐܠܐ ܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܬܣܬܟܠܘܢ
thsthklwn l' 'p thhymnwn w'l' rwmly' br dshmryn wrysh' shmryn d'prym wrysh'
The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established.’”

ܫܐܠ ܠܟ ܐܬܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟ ܥܡܩ ܫܐܠ ܐܘ ܐܪܝܡ ܠܥܠ
lel 'rym 'w sh'l emq 'lhk mry' mn 'th' lk sh'l
“Ask a sign of Yahweh your God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܚܙ ܠܐ ܐܫܐܠ ܘܠܐ ܐܢܣܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ
'lhy lmry' 'ns' wl' 'sh'l l' 'khz w'mr
But Ahaz said, “I won’t ask. I won’t tempt Yahweh.”

ܘܐܡܪ ܫܡܥܘ ܒܝܬܗ̈ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܙܥܘܪܝܐ ܗܝ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܡܠܐܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܬܠܐܘܢ ܐܦ ܠܐܠܗܝ
l'lhy 'p dthl'wn 'l' lgbr' 'nthwn dml'yn lkwn hy zewry' ddwyd bythh shmew w'mr
He said, “Listen now, house of David. Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God also?

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܗܐ ܒܬܘܠܬܐ ܒ̇ܛܢܐ ܘܝ̇ܠܕܐ ܒܪܐ ܘܢܬܩܪܐ ܫܡܗ ܥܡܢܘܐܝܠ
emnw'yl shmh wnthqr' br' wyld' bTn' bthwlth' h' 'th' 'lh' mry' lkwn nthl hn' mTl
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

ܚܐܘܬܐ ܘܕܒܫܐ ܢܐܟܘܠ ܕܢܕܥ ܠܡܣܠܝܘ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܠܡܓܒܐ ܛܒܬܐ
Tbth' wlmgb' byshth' lmslyw dnde n'kwl wdbsh' kh'wth'
He shall eat butter and honey when he knows to refuse the evil and choose the good.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܕ ܠܐ ܢܕܥ ܛܠܝܐ ܠܡܣܠܝܘ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܠܡܓܒܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܬܫܬܒܩ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܥܩ ܐܢܬ ܒܗ̇ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܡ̈ܠܟܝܗ̇
mlkyh thryn qdm mn bh 'nth dmeq 're' thshthbq Tbth' wlmgb' byshth' lmslyw Tly' nde l' ded mTl
For before the child knows to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land whose two kings you abhor shall be forsaken.

ܡܪܝܐ ܢܝܬܐ ܥܠܝܟ ܘܥܠ ܥܡܟ ܘܥܠ ܒܝܬ ܐܒܘܟ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܘ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܥܒܪ ܠܐܦܪܝܡ ܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܬܘܪ
d'thwr mlk' yhwd' mn l'prym d'ebr ywm' mn 'thw dl' ywmth' 'bwk byth wel emk wel elyk nyth' mry'
Yahweh will bring on you, on your people, and on your father’s house days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah, even the king of Assyria.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܫܪܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܒ̈ܒܐ ܕܒܫ̈ܦܘܠܝ ܢܗܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܠܕܒܘܪ̈ܝܬܐ ܕܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܬܘܪ
d'thwr db're' wldbwryth' dmtsryn nhrwth' dbshpwly ldbb' mry' nshrq hw bywm' wnhw'
It will happen in that day that Yahweh will whistle for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܢܝܚܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܚܠܐ ܕܝܬܘܬ ܘܒܦܥܪ̈ܐ ܕܟܐܦܐ ܘܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܠܠܐ
khll' wbklhwn dk'p' wbper' dythwth bnkhl' klhwn wnththnykhwn wn'thwn
They shall come, and shall all rest in the desolate valleys, in the clefts of the rocks, on all thorn hedges, and on all pastures.

ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܓܪܘܥ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܡܕܟܝܐ ܪܘܝܐ ܒܥܒܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܢܗܪܐ ܒܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܬܘܪ ܡܢ ܪܝܫܗ ܘܠܣܥܪܐ ܕܪ̈ܓܠܘܗܝ ܘܐܦ ܕܩܢܗ ܢܫܩܘܠ
nshqwl dqnh w'p drglwhy wlser' ryshh mn d'thwr bmlk' dnhr' bebrwhy rwy' bmdky' mry' ngrwe hw bywm'
In that day the Lord will shave with a razor that is hired in the parts beyond the River, even with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet; and it shall also consume the beard.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܚܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܥܓܠܬܐ ܕܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܥܢܐ
en' wthrthyn dthwr' eglth' gbr' nkh' hw bywm' wnhw'
It shall happen in that day that a man shall keep alive a young cow, and two sheep.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܢ ܚܠܒܐ ܢܐܟܘܠ ܚܐܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܕܒܫܐ ܘܚܐܘܬܐ ܢܐܟܘܠ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܫܬܚܪ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' bgwh dmshthkhr mn n'kwl wkh'wth' ddbsh' mTl kh'wth' n'kwl khlb' debdn swg'' mn wnhw'
It shall happen, that because of the abundance of milk which they shall give he shall eat butter, for everyone will eat butter and honey that is left within the land.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܟܠ ܐܬܪ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܐܠܦ ܓܘ̈ܦܢܝܢ ܒܐܠܦ ܕܟܣܦ ܠܝܥܪܐ ܘܠܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܢܗܘܐ
nhw' wlkwb' lyer' dksp b'lp gwpnyn 'lp bh d'yth 'thr kl hw bywm' wnhw'
It will happen in that day that every place where there were a thousand vines worth a thousand silver shekels, will be for briers and thorns.

ܘܒܓܐܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܩܫ̈ܬܬܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܠܬܡܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܝܥܪܐ ܘܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܬܬܡܠܐ ܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ
're' klh ththml' wkwb' dyer' mTl lthmn nelwn wbqshthth' wbg'r'
People will go there with arrows and with bow, because all the land will be briers and thorns.

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܕܒ̇ܪܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܦܕܢܐ ܢܬܕܒܪܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܥܘܠ ܠܬܡܢ ܕܚܠܬܐ ܕܝܥܪܐ ܘܕܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܪܥܝܐ ܠܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܕܝܫܐ ܠܥܢܐ
len' dysh' wbyth lthwr' rey' byth wnhw' wdkwb' dyer' dkhlth' lthmn thewl wl' nthdbrwn pdn' bhwn hwth ddbr' Twr' wklhwn
All the hills that were cultivated with the hoe, you shall not come there for fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending out of oxen, and for sheep to tread on.”
