ܐܫܒܚ ܠܚܒܝܒܝ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܕܚܒܝܒܝ ܠܟܪܡܗ ܟܪܡܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܚܒܝܒܝ ܒܩܪܢܐ ܕܐܬܪܐ ܫܡܝܢܐ
shmyn' d'thr' bqrn' lkhbyby hw' krm' lkrmh dkhbyby thshbwkhth' lkhbyby 'shbkh
Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.

ܘܦܠܚܗ ܘܐܚܕܪܗ ܣܝܓܐ ܘܢܨܒܗ ܫܒ̈ܘܩܐ ܘܒܢܐ ܡܓܕܠܐ ܒܓܘܗ ܐܦ ܡܥܨܪܬܐ ܥܒܕ ܒܗ ܘܣܟܝ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܥܢ̈ܒܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܚܪ̈ܘܒܐ

He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in the middle of it, and also cut out a wine press in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.

ܗܫܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܘܢܘ ܒܝܢ̈ܝ ܠܟܪܡܝ

“Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.

ܡܢܐ ܬܘܒ ܘܠ̇ܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܠܟܪܡܝ ܘܠܐ ܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܠܗ ܕܣܟ̇ܝܬ ܕܢܥܒܕ ܥܢ̈ܒܐ ܘܥܒܕ ܚܪ̈ܘܒܐ
khrwb' webd enb' dnebd dskyth lh ebdth wl' lkrmy lmebd hw' wl' thwb mn'
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?

ܗܫܐ ܐܚܘܝܟܘܢ ܡܕܡ ܕܥܒ̇ܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܠܟܪܡܝ ܥܩ̇ܪ ܐܢܐ ܡܓܕܠܗ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܠܒܙܬܐ ܘܬ̇ܪܥ ܐܢܐ ܣܝܓܗ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܠܕܝܫܐ
ldysh' wnhw' sygh 'n' wthre lbzth' wnhw' mgdlh 'n' eqr lkrmy lh 'n' debd mdm 'khwykwn hsh'
Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.

ܘܐܥܒܕܝܘܗܝ ܕܢܚܪܒ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܟܣܚ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܦܠܚ ܘܢܐܥܘܢ ܒܗ ܟܘ̈ܒܐ ܘܝܥܪܐ ܘܐܦܩܘܕ ܠܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܚ̈ܬܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܡܛܪܐ
mTr' elwhy nkhthn dl' lenn' w'pqwd wyer' kwb' bh wn'ewn nthplkh wl' nthkskh wl' dnkhrb w'ebdywhy
I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܪܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܢܨܒܬܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܘܚܒܝܒܬܐ ܣܟ̇ܝܬ ܠܕܝܢܐ ܘܗܘܐ ܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܘܠܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܗܐ ܐܝܠܠܬܐ

For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression, for righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.

ܘܝ ܠܕܡܩܪܒܝܢ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܐ ܘܚܩܠܐ ܒܚܩܠܐ ܚܠܛ̇ܝܢ ܕܬܐܚܕܘܢ ܐܬܪܐ ܘܬܬܒܘܢ ܒܠܚܘܕܝܟܘܢ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' bgwh blkhwdykwn wththbwn 'thr' dth'khdwn khlTyn bkhql' wkhql' lbyth' byth' ldmqrbyn wy
Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land!

ܒܐ̈ܕܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܐܫܬܡܥ ܒ̈ܬܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ
dythb bly mn nhwwn lkhwrb' sgy'' bth' 'shthme khylthn' mry' b'dny
In my ears, Yahweh of Armies says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܣܪ ܐܫܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܟܪܡܐ ܢܥܒܕ̈ܢ ܚܕܐ ܚܒܝܬܐ ܘܙܪܥܐ ܕܟܘܪ ܢܥܒܕ ܣܐܐ
s'' nebd dkwr wzre' khbyth' khd' nebdn dkrm' 'shkr' desr mTl
For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah.”

ܘܝ ܠܕܡܩܕܡܝܢ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܘܪܗ̇ܛܝܢ ܠܫܟܪܐ ܘܡܘܚܪܝܢ ܒܪܡܫܐ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܡܘܩܕ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn mwqd wkhmr' brmsh' wmwkhryn lshkr' wrhTyn btspr' ldmqdmyn wy
Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!

ܒܟܢܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܩܝܬܪ̈ܐ ܘܒ̈ܦܠܓܐ ܘܒܪ̈ܒܝܥܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܫ̇ܬܝܢ ܘܒܥܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܐ ܡܣܬܟܠܝܢ ܘܒܥܒ̇ܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܚܝ̇ܪܝܢ
khyryn l' 'ydwhy wbebd msthklyn l' d'lh' wbebdwhy shthyn khmr' wbrbye' wbplg' wbqythr' bknr'
The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of Yahweh, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܫܬܒܝ ܥܡܝ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܐܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܣܓܝܘ ܡܝ̈ܬܝܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܟܦܢܐ ܘܥܫܢܘ ܡܢ ܨܗܝܐ
tshy' mn weshnw kpn' mn mythyhwn wsgyw 'ydeth' bly mn emy 'shthby hn' mTl
Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܦܬܝܬ ܫܝܘܠ ܢܦܫܗ̇ ܘܦܥܪܬ ܦܘܡܗ̇ ܕܠܐ ܣܟ ܘܢܚܬܘܢ ܠܗ̇ ܡܫ̈ܒܚܐ ܘܡܝܩܪ̈ܐ ܘܥܫ̈ܝܢܐ
weshyn' wmyqr' mshbkh' lh wnkhthwn sk dl' pwmh wperth npshh shywl 'pthyth hn' mTl
Therefore Sheol has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it.

ܘܢܬܡܟܟ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܢܫܬܦܠ ܓܒܪܐ ܘܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܢܬܡ̈ܟܟܢ
nthmkkn rmth' weyn' gbr' wnshthpl 'nsh' wnthmkk
So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;

ܘܢܬܬܪܝܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܘܐܠܗܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܢܬܩܕܫ ܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ
bzdyqwth' nthqdsh qdysh' w'lh' bdyn' khylthn' mry' wnththrym
but Yahweh of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.

ܘܢܪܥܘܢ ܐܡܪ̈ܐ ܒܙܕܩܗܘܢ ܘܚܪ̈ܒܬܐ ܕܐܬܒܢܝ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܢܐܟܠܘܢ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ
'nyn n'klwn emwr' d'thbny wkhrbth' bzdqhwn 'mr' wnrewn
Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.

ܘܝ ܠܕܡܘܪܟܝܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܠܐ ܐܪܝܟܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܥܪܩܬܐ ܕܥܓܠܬܐ ܚܛܝܬܗܘܢ
khTythhwn deglth' erqth' w'yk 'ryk' khbl' 'yk khThyhwn ldmwrkyn wy
Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope,

ܘܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ ܒܥܓܠ ܢܣܪܗܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܢܚܙܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܬܩܪܘܒ ܘܬܐܬܐ ܬܪܥܝܬܗ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܢܕܥܝܗ̇
wndeyh d'ysryl dqdysh' threythh wth'th' wthqrwb 'nwn dnkhz' ebdwhy mry' nsrhb begl w'mryn
who say, “Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”

ܘܝ ܠܕܩ̇ܪܝܢ ܠܒܝܫܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܠܛܒܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܘܣ̇ܝܡܝܢ ܢܗܝܪܐ ܠܚܫܘܟܐ ܘܚܫܘܟܐ ܠܢܗܝܪܐ ܘܣ̇ܝܡܝܢ ܡܪܝܪܐ ܚܠܝܐ ܘܚܠܝܐ ܡܪܝܪܐ
mryr' wkhly' khly' mryr' wsymyn lnhyr' wkhshwk' lkhshwk' nhyr' wsymyn bysh' wlTb' Tb' lbysh' ldqryn wy
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

ܘܝ ܠܕܚܟܝܡܝܢ ܒܥܝ̈ܢܝ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܠܘܩܒܠ ܐ̈ܦܝܗܘܢ ܣ̈ܟܘܠܬܢܝܢ
skwlthnyn 'pyhwn wlwqbl npshhwn beyny ldkhkymyn wy
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

ܘܝ ܠܕܓܢܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܠܡܫܬܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܠܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܚܝ̈ܠܬܢܐ ܕܡ̇ܙܓܝܢ ܫܟܪܐ
shkr' dmzgyn khylthn' wlgbr' khmr' lmshth' ldgnbryn wy
Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;

ܘܡܙܟܝܢ ܠܚܝܒܐ ܡܛܠ ܫܘܚܕܗ ܘܙܟܘܬܗ ܕܙܟܝܐ ܡܥܒܪܝܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ
mnhwn mebryn dzky' wzkwthh shwkhdh mTl lkhyb' wmzkyn
who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܐܟܠܐ ܚܒܬܐ ܒܠܫܢܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܕܐܚ̇ܕܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܗܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܫܬܒܩܐ ܢܬܐܟܠܘܢ ܘܥܩܪܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܚܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܘܦܪܥܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܘܪܐ ܢܣܩ ܥܠ ܕܐܣܠܝܘ ܢܡܘܣܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܘܠܡܐܡܪܗ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܪܓܙܘ
'rgzw d'ysryl dqdysh' wlm'mrh khylthn' dmry' nmwsh d'slyw el nsq ewr' 'yk wprehwn nhw' khl' 'yk weqrhwn nth'klwn dmshthbq' shlhbyth' mn d'khd' dnwr' blshn' khbth' dmth'kl' 'yk hn' mTl
Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܬܚܡܬ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܗ ܘܐܪܝܡ ܐܝܕܗ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܚܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܙܥܘ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܗ̈ܘܝ ܫ̈ܠܕܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܣܝܢܐ ܒܓܘ ܫ̈ܘܩܐ ܘܒܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܦܟ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܬܘܒ ܐܝܕܗ ܪܡܐ
rm' 'ydh wthwb rwgzh hpk l' klhyn wbhlyn shwq' bgw syn' 'yk shldyhwn whwy Twr' wzew 'nwn wmkh' elyhwn 'ydh w'rym emh el dmry' rwgzh 'thkhmth hn' mTl
Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.

ܘܢܪܝܡ ܐܬܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܘܢܫܪܩ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܣܘ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܒܥܓܠ ܘܩܠܝܠܐܝܬ ܢܐܬܘܢ
n'thwn wqlyl'yth wbegl d're' swpyh mn lhwn wnshrq rwkhq' mn lemm' 'th' wnrym
He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.

ܠܐ ܢܬܛܪܦܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܬܩܠܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܢܘܡܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܕܡܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܪܘܢ ܐܣܪ ܚ̈ܨܝܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܦܣ̈ܩܢ ܥܪ̈ܩܐ ܕܡܣܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ
dmsnyhwn erq' nthpsqn wl' khtsyhwn 'sr nshrwn wl' ndmkwn wl' nnwmwn wl' nththqlwn wl' nthTrpwn l'
No one shall be weary nor stumble among them; no one shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the strap of their sandals be broken,

ܓܐܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܫ̈ܢܝܢܝܢ ܘܩܫ̈ܬܬܗܘܢ ܡ̈ܠܝܢ ܘܦܪ̈ܣܬܐ ܕܪܟܫܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܛܪ̈ܢܐ ܢܬܚܫ̈ܒܢ ܘ̈ܓܝܓܠܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܠܥܠܐ
elel' 'yk wgyglyhwn nthkhshbn Trn' 'yk drkshhwn wprsth' mlyn wqshththhwn shnynyn g'ryhwn
whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

ܘܢܗܡܬܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܐܪܝܐ ܢܢܗܡ ܘܐܝܟ ܓܘܪܝܐ ܕܐܪܝܐ ܕܢܗ̇ܡ ܘܐܚ̇ܕ ܬܒܪܐ ܘܡܥܕܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܡܦܨܐ
dmpts' wlyth wmed' thbr' w'khd dnhm d'ry' gwry' w'yk nnhm 'ry' 'yk wnhmthhwn
Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.

ܢܢܗܡ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܐܝܟ ܢܗܡܬܗ ܕܝܡܐ ܘܢܚܘܪܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܘܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܘܢܘܗܪܐ ܢܚܫܟ ܒܥܡܛܢܗܘܢ

They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
