אמר נביא אשבחיה כען לישראל דמתיל לכרמא זרעיה דאברהם רחמי תושבחת רחמי לכרמי עמי חביבי ישראל יהבית להון אחסנא בטור רם בארעא שמינא:
shmyna barea rm bTwr akhsna lhwn yhbyth yshral khbyby emy lkrmy rkhmy thwshbkhth rkhmy dabrhm zreyh lkrma dmthyl lyshral ken ashbkhyh nbya amr
Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.

וקדשתינון ויקרתינון וקימתינון כמצב גפן בחירא ובניתא מקדשי ביניהון ואף מדבחי יהבית לכפרא על חטאיהון ואמרית דיעבדון עובדין טבין קדמי ואינון אבאישו עובדיהון:
ewbdyhwn abayshw waynwn qdmy Tbyn ewbdyn dyebdwn wamryth khTayhwn el lkpra yhbyth mdbkhy wap bynyhwn mqdshy wbnytha bkhyra gpn kmtsb wqymthynwn wyqrthynwn wqdshthynwn
He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in the middle of it, and also cut out a wine press in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.

נביא אמר להון הא בית ישראל מרדו מן אוריתא ולא צבן למיתב כען יתבי ירושלם ואנש יהודה דינו כען דינא קדמי מן עמי:
emy mn qdmy dyna ken dynw yhwdh wansh yrwshlm ythby ken lmythb tsbn wla awrytha mn mrdw yshral byth ha lhwn amr nbya
“Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.

מה טבא אמרית למעבד עוד לעמי ולא עבדית להון מה דין אמרית דיעבדון עובדין טבין ואינון אבאישו עובדיהון:
ewbdyhwn abayshw waynwn Tbyn ewbdyn dyebdwn amryth dyn mh lhwn ebdyth wla lemy ewd lmebd amryth Tba mh
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?

וכען אחוי כען לכון ית דאנא עתיד למעבד לעמי אסלק שכנתי מנהון ויהון למבז אתרע בית מקדשהון ויהון לדיש:
ldysh wyhwn mqdshhwn byth athre lmbz wyhwn mnhwn shknthy aslq lemy lmebd ethyd dana yth lkwn ken akhwy wken
Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.

ואשוינון רטישין לא אסתערון ולא יסתמכון ויהון מטלטלין ושביקין ועל נבייא אפקיד דלא יתנבון עליהון נבואה:
nbwah elyhwn ythnbwn dla apqyd nbyya wel wshbyqyn mTlTlyn wyhwn ysthmkwn wla astherwn la rTyshyn washwynwn
I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”

ארי עמא דיי צבאות בית ישראל ואנש יהודה נצבא דחדותיה ואמרית דיעבדון דינא והא אינון אנוסין אמרית דיעבדון זכו והא אינון מסגן חובין:
khwbyn msgn aynwn wha zkw dyebdwn amryth anwsyn aynwn wha dyna dyebdwn wamryth dkhdwthyh ntsba yhwdh wansh yshral byth tsbawth dyy ema ary
For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression, for righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.

וי דמקפין ביתא על ביתא חקל אונסא בחקלתהון מקרבין אמרין עד דנחסין כל אתר ומדמן דיתבין בלחודיהון בגוה דארעא:
darea bgwh blkhwdyhwn dythbyn wmdmn athr kl dnkhsyn ed amryn mqrbyn bkhqlthhwn awnsa khql bytha el bytha dmqpyn wy
Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land!

אמר נביא באודני הויתי שמע כד אתגזרית דא מן קדם יי צבאות אם לא בתין סגיאין לצדו יהון רברבין וטבין מבלי יתיב:
ythyb mbly wTbyn rbrbyn yhwn ltsdw sgyayn bthyn la am tsbawth yy qdm mn da athgzryth kd shme hwythy bawdny nbya amr
In my ears, Yahweh of Armies says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.

ארי בחובא דלא יהבו מעשריא בית עסר אשכרין דכרם יעבדון ביתא חדא ובית כור זרע יעביד תלת סאין:
sayn thlth yebyd zre kwr wbyth khda bytha yebdwn dkrm ashkryn esr byth meshrya yhbw dla bkhwba ary
For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah.”

וי דמקדמין בצפרא למשתי חמר עתיק רדפין מאחרין למפטר מרמשין על שויהון חמר אונסין מדליק להון:
lhwn mdlyq awnsyn khmr shwyhwn el mrmshyn lmpTr makhryn rdpyn ethyq khmr lmshthy btspra dmqdmyn wy
Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!

והוי על ידי כנור ונבל קתרוס אבובא וחמרא משתיהון ובאוריתא דיי לא אסתכלו ועובד גבורתיה לא חזו:
khzw la gbwrthyh wewbd asthklw la dyy wbawrytha mshthyhwn wkhmra abwba qthrws wnbl knwr ydy el whwy
The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of Yahweh, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.

בכן גלו עמי מבלי דעתא ויקירהון מיתו בכפנא וסגוהון בבצורתא בצחותא:
btskhwtha bbtswrtha wsgwhwn bkpna mythw wyqyrhwn detha mbly emy glw bkn
Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.

בכן אפתיאת שאול נפשה ופתחת פומה ולית סוף ונחתו יקרהון וסגוהון ואתרגושתהון ודתקוף בהון:
bhwn wdthqwp wathrgwshthhwn wsgwhwn yqrhwn wnkhthw swp wlyth pwmh wpthkhth npshh shawl apthyath bkn
Therefore Sheol has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it.
15
וימאך אנשא ויחלש תקוף גברין ועיני רמיא ימאכון:
ymakwn rmya weyny gbryn thqwp wykhlsh ansha wymak
So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
16
ותקיף יי צבאות בדינא ואלהא קדישא קדיש בזכותא:
bzkwtha qdysh qdysha walha bdyna tsbawth yy wthqyp
but Yahweh of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
17
ויתפרנסון צדיקיא כמא דאמיר עליהון יסגון ונכסי רשיעיא צדיקיא יחסנון:
ykhsnwn tsdyqya rshyeya wnksy ysgwn elyhwn damyr kma tsdyqya wythprnswn
Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.

וי דמשרן למחטי צבחר נגדין חובין בחבלי למא אזלין סגן עד דתקיפין וכגדילת עגלתא חובין:
khwbyn egltha wkgdylth dthqypyn ed sgn azlyn lma bkhbly khwbyn ngdyn tsbkhr lmkhTy dmshrn wy
Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope,

דאמרין אימתי יוחי ויגלי פרשתיה בדיל דנחזי ויקרב וייתי מלכי דקדישא דישראל ונדעיניה:
wndeynyh dyshral dqdysha mlky wyythy wyqrb dnkhzy bdyl prshthyh wygly ywkhy aymthy damryn
who say, “Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”

וי דאמרין לרשיעיא דמצלחין בעלמא הדין אתון טביא ולענותניא אמרין אתון רשיעיא הלא במיתי נהורא לצדיקיא יחשוך לרשיעיא ויבסמון פתגמי אוריתא לעבדיהון וייתי מרדא לרשיעיא וידעון דבסופא מריר חטאה לעבדיה:
lebdyh khTah mryr dbswpa wydewn lrshyeya mrda wyythy lebdyhwn awrytha pthgmy wybsmwn lrshyeya ykhshwk ltsdyqya nhwra bmythy hla rshyeya athwn amryn wlenwthnya Tbya athwn hdyn belma dmtslkhyn lrshyeya damryn wy
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21
וי דחכימין בעיני נפשהון וקביל אפיהון סוכלתנין:
swklthnyn apyhwn wqbyl npshhwn beyny dkhkymyn wy
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
22
וי דגברין למשתי חמר וגברין מרי נכסין לאתרואה מן עתיק:
ethyq mn lathrwah nksyn mry wgbryn khmr lmshthy dgbryn wy
Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
23
מזכן ליה לחיבא חלף דמקבלין מניה ממון דשקר וזכות זכיא ברשע מעדן מנהון:
mnhwn medn brshe zkya wzkwth dshqr mmwn mnyh dmqblyn khlp lkhyba lyh mzkn
who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!

בכן יתאכלון כקשא באשתא וכעמירא בשלהוביתא מסגן תוקפהון כשבז יהי וממון אונסיהון כאבקא דפרח ארי קצו באוריתא דיי צבאות וית מימר קדישא דישראל רחיקו:
rkhyqw dyshral qdysha mymr wyth tsbawth dyy bawrytha qtsw ary dprkh kabqa awnsyhwn wmmwn yhy kshbz thwqphwn msgn bshlhwbytha wkemyra bashtha kqsha ythaklwn bkn
Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

על כן תקיף רוגזא דיי צבאות בעמיה וארים מחת גבורתיה עליהון כד מחנון וזעו טוריא והואה נבלתהון משגרן כסחיתא בגו שוקיא בכל דא לא תבו מחוביהון דיתוב רוגזיה מנהון ועד כען מתקפין מרדיהון ועוד מחתיה עתידא לאתפרע מנהון:
mnhwn lathpre ethyda mkhthyh wewd mrdyhwn mthqpyn ken wed mnhwn rwgzyh dythwb mkhwbyhwn thbw la da bkl shwqya bgw kskhytha mshgrn nblthhwn whwah Twrya wzew mkhnwn kd elyhwn gbwrthyh mkhth warym bemyh tsbawth dyy rwgza thqyp kn el
Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
26
ויזקוף את לעממיא מרחיק ויכלי ליה מסיפי ארעא והא בפריע מלך במשריתיה כעננין קלילין ייתי:
yythy qlylyn kennyn bmshrythyh mlk bprye wha area msypy lyh wykly mrkhyq lemmya ath wyzqwp
He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.
27
לית דמשלהי ולית דמתקיל ביה לא ינום ולא ידמוך ולא ישתרי זריז חרציה ולא תתפסיק ערקת מסניה:
msnyh erqth ththpsyq wla khrtsyh zryz yshthry wla ydmwk wla ynwm la byh dmthqyl wlyth dmshlhy lyth
No one shall be weary nor stumble among them; no one shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the strap of their sandals be broken,
28
די גירוהי מחרפין וכל קשתתיה מתיחן פרסת סוסותיה כטנרא תקיפין וגלגלוהי קלילין הא כעלעולא:
kelewla ha qlylyn wglglwhy thqypyn kTnra swswthyh prsth mthykhn qshththyh wkl mkhrpyn gyrwhy dy
whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

ניהומי ליה כאריא וינהום כבר אריון ויכלי ויחוד בזא וישיזיב ולית דמציל:
dmtsyl wlyth wyshyzyb bza wykhwd wykly arywn kbr wynhwm karya lyh nyhwmy
Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
30
ויכלי עלוהי בעדנא ההיא כאתרגושת ימא דאם יבעון רשיעיא סעיד מיתבי ארעא עקא ותבר איתי עליהון ברם צדיקיא דיהון בשעתא ההיא יתכסון מן קדם בישתא:
byshtha qdm mn ythkswn hhya bshetha dyhwn tsdyqya brm elyhwn aythy wthbr eqa area mythby seyd rshyeya ybewn dam yma kathrgwshth hhya bedna elwhy wykly
They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
