וכען שמע יעקב עבדי וישראל דאתרעיתי ביה:
byh dathreythy wyshral ebdy yeqb shme wken
Yet listen now, Jacob my servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen.
2
כדנן אמר יי דעבדך ודאתקנך ממעין יסעדינך לא תדחל עבדי יעקב וישראל דאתרעיתי ביה:
byh dathreythy wyshral yeqb ebdy thdkhl la ysedynk mmeyn wdathqnk debdk yy amr kdnn
This is what Yahweh who made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you says: “Don’t be afraid, Jacob my servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

ארי כמא דמתיהבין מיא על ארע בית צחונא ומתנגדין על יבשתא כן אתן רוח קודשי על בנך וברכתי על בני בנך:
bnk bny el wbrkthy bnk el qwdshy rwkh athn kn ybshtha el wmthngdyn tskhwna byth are el mya dmthyhbyn kma ary
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring;

ויתרבון צדיקיא רכיכין ומפנקין כלבלבי עסב כאילן דמשלח שרשוהי על נגדין דמיין:
dmyyn ngdyn el shrshwhy dmshlkh kayln esb klblby wmpnqyn rkykyn tsdyqya wythrbwn
and they will spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.

דין יימר מדחליא דיי אנא ודין יצלי בשום יעקב ודין יקריב קורבנה קדם יי ובשמא דישראל יתקרי:
ythqry dyshral wbshma yy qdm qwrbnh yqryb wdyn yeqb bshwm ytsly wdyn ana dyy mdkhlya yymr dyn
One will say, ‘I am Yahweh’s.’ Another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to Yahweh,’ and honor the name of Israel.”

כדנן אמר יי מלכא דישראל ופרקה יי צבאות אנא הוא דמלקדמין אף עלמי עלמיא דילי אינון ובר מני לית אלה:
alh lyth mny wbr aynwn dyly elmya elmy ap dmlqdmyn hwa ana tsbawth yy wprqh dyshral mlka yy amr kdnn
This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies, says: “I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.

ומן כותי דין ערעינה ויחוינה ויסדרינה קדמי משויותי עמא דמן עלמא ודאתין ודעתידין למיתי יחוון לנא:
lna ykhwwn lmythy wdethydyn wdathyn elma dmn ema mshwywthy qdmy wysdrynh wykhwynh ereynh dyn kwthy wmn
Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.

לא תדחלון ולא תתברון הלא מבכן בסרתך וחויתי ואתון סהדין קדמי האית אלהא בר מני ולית דתקיף אלהן דמן קדמי מתיהב ליה תקוף:
thqwp lyh mthyhb qdmy dmn alhn dthqyp wlyth mny br alha hayth qdmy shdyn wathwn wkhwythy bsrthk mbkn hla ththbrwn wla thdkhlwn la
Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don’t know any other Rock.”

עבדי צלמיא כולהון למא ופלחיהון דלא יהנון להון וסהדין אינון בנפשתיהון דלא חזן ולא ידעין בדין דיבהתון:
dybhthwn bdyn ydeyn wla khzn dla bnpshthyhwn aynwn wshdyn lhwn yhnwn dla wplkhyhwn lma kwlhwn tslmya ebdy
Everyone who makes a carved image is vain. The things that they delight in will not profit. Their own witnesses don’t see, nor know, that they may be disappointed.

מן עבד דחלא וצלמא אתיך בדיל דלא להנאה:
lhnah dla bdyl athyk wtslma dkhla ebd mn
Who has fashioned a god, or molds an image that is profitable for nothing?

הא כל פלחיהון יבהתון ואומנין עובדנין מבני אנשא יתכנסון כולהון יקומון יתברון יבהתון כחדא:
kkhda ybhthwn ythbrwn yqwmwn kwlhwn ythknswn ansha mbny ewbdnyn wawmnyn ybhthwn plkhyhwn kl ha
Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed; and the workmen are mere men. Let them all be gathered together. Let them stand up. They will fear. They will be put to shame together.

נפחא מברזלא חצינא עביד ונפח נור בשיחורין ובמקובין מתקיף ליה ועביד ליה בתקוף חילה דאם יכפן עבדה ולא ייכול לא יהי ביה חיל ואם יצחי ולא ישתי מיא יהי משלהי:
mshlhy yhy mya yshthy wla ytskhy wam khyl byh yhy la yykwl wla ebdh ykpn dam khylh bthqwp lyh webyd lyh mthqyp wbmqwbyn bshykhwryn nwr wnpkh ebyd khtsyna mbrzla npkha
The blacksmith takes an ax, works in the coals, fashions it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm. He is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is faint.

נגר אעין נפיץ בחוטא מסר ליה במשקולתא מגזי ליה באזמיליא ובנצורין מאחיד ליה ועביד ליה כדמות גבר כתושבחת אתתא למיתב בביתא:
bbytha lmythb aththa kthwshbkhth gbr kdmwth lyh webyd lyh makhyd wbntswryn bazmylya lyh mgzy bmshqwltha lyh msr bkhwTa npyts aeyn ngr
The carpenter stretches out a line. He marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes. He marks it out with compasses, and shapes it like the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to reside in a house.

למקץ ליה ארזין ונסיב תרז ובלוט ומתקיף ליה באעי חורשא נצב אורנא ומטרא ירבי:
yrby wmTra awrna ntsb khwrsha baey lyh wmthqyp wblwT thrz wnsyb arzyn lyh lmqts
He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak, and strengthens for himself one among the trees of the forest. He plants a cypress tree, and the rain nourishes it.

והוי לאנשא לאדלקא ונסיב מנהון ושחין אף אזא ואפא לחם אף עבדה דחלא וסגיד אתכה צלמא ובעא מנה:
mnh wbea tslma athkh wsgyd dkhla ebdh ap lkhm wapa aza ap wshkhyn mnhwn wnsyb ladlqa lansha whwy
Then it will be for a man to burn; and he takes some of it and warms himself. Yes, he burns it and bakes bread. Yes, he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.

פלגה אוקיד בנורא על פלגה בסרא אכיל טוא טוי וסבע אף שחין ואמר אח שחינית חזיתי נור:
nwr khzythy shkhynyth akh wamr shkhyn ap wsbe Twy Twa akyl bsra plgh el bnwra awqyd plgh
He burns part of it in the fire. With part of it, he eats meat. He roasts a roast and is satisfied. Yes, he warms himself and says, “Aha! I am warm. I have seen the fire.”

ושארה לדחלא עבד לצלמא סגיד ליה ואשתעבד ליה ובעא מנה ואמר שיזבני ארי דחלתי את:
ath dkhlthy ary shyzbny wamr mnh wbea lyh washthebd lyh sgyd ltslma ebd ldkhla wsharh
The rest of it he makes into a god, even his engraved image. He bows down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”

לא ידעון ולא מסתכלין ארי מטמטמן מלמחזי עיניהון מלאסתכלא בלבהון:
blbhwn mlasthkla eynyhwn mlmkhzy mTmTmn ary msthklyn wla ydewn la
They don’t know, neither do they consider, for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see, and their hearts, that they can’t understand.

ולא מתיב ללבה ולא מדע ולא סוכלתנו למימר פלגה אוקידת בנורא ואף אפיתי על גומרוהי לחם טוית בסרא ואכלית ושארה לתועבא אעביד ליבלי אעא אסגוד:
asgwd aea lybly aebyd lthweba wsharh waklyth bsra Twyth lkhm gwmrwhy el apythy wap bnwra awqydth plgh lmymr swklthnw wla mde wla llbh mthyb wla
No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?”

הא דחלתא פלגה קטמא לבה שטיא אטעיה ולא ישיזיב ית נפשה ולא יימר הלא שקרא עבדית בימיני:
bymyny ebdyth shqra hla yymr wla npshh yth yshyzyb wla aTeyh shTya lbh qTma plgh dkhltha ha
He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”

אדכר אלין יעקב וישראל ארי עבדי את אתקינתך למהוי עביד פלח קדמי את ישראל לא תתנשי דחלתי:
dkhlthy ththnshy la yshral ath qdmy plkh ebyd lmhwy athqynthk ath ebdy ary wyshral yeqb alyn adkr
Remember these things, Jacob and Israel, for you are my servant. I have formed you. You are my servant. Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
22
מחיתי כעיבא חובך וכענן עדי כל חטאך תוב לפולחני ארי פרקתך:
prqthk ary lpwlkhny thwb khTak kl edy wkenn khwbk keyba mkhythy
I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.

שבחו שמיא ארי עבד יי פורקן לעמה יביבו יסודי ארעא בועו טוריא תושבחתא חורשא וכל אילניא דבה ארי פרק יי יעקב ובישראל ישתבח:
yshthbkh wbyshral yeqb yy prq ary dbh aylnya wkl khwrsha thwshbkhtha Twrya bwew area yswdy ybybw lemh pwrqn yy ebd ary shmya shbkhw
Sing, you heavens, for Yahweh has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth! Break out into singing, you mountains, O forest, all of your trees, for Yahweh has redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.

כדנן אמר יי דפרקך ודאתקנך ממעיין אנא יי עביד כולא תלית שמיא במימרי שכללית ארעא בגבורתי:
bgbwrthy area shkllyth bmymry shmya thlyth kwla ebyd yy ana mmeyyn wdathqnk dprqk yy amr kdnn
Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb says: “I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;

מבטל אתות בדין וקסומין משגש מתיב חכימא לאחורא ודעתהון מקלקל:
mqlql wdethhwn lakhwra khkyma mthyb mshgsh wqswmyn bdyn athwth mbTl
who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;

מקים פתגמי עבדוהי צדיקיא ומלך שלוחוהי משלים דאמר לירושלם תתותב ולקרויא דבית יהודה יתבנין וחרבתהא אקומם:
aqwmm wkhrbthha ythbnyn yhwdh dbyth wlqrwya ththwthb lyrwshlm damr mshlym shlwkhwhy wmlk tsdyqya ebdwhy pthgmy mqym
who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; who says of Jerusalem, ‘She will be inhabited;’ and of the cities of Judah, ‘They will be built,’ and ‘I will raise up its waste places;’

דאמר על בבל תחרוב ונהרתא איבש:
aybsh wnhrtha thkhrwb bbl el damr
who says to the deep, ‘Be dry,’ and ‘I will dry up your rivers,’
28
דאמר על כורש למתן ליה מלכו וכל רעותי יקים ולדאמר לירושלם תתבני והיכלא ישתכלל:
yshthkll whykla ththbny lyrwshlm wldamr yqym rewthy wkl mlkw lyh lmthn kwrsh el damr
who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’ even saying of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built;’ and of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be laid.’”
