ܡܠܘ ܒܠܒܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܩܪܘ ܠܗ̇ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܡܠܝܬ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܨܒܬ ܒܚܛܝܬܐ ܘܩܒܠܬ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܥܦܐ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܗ̇

“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”

ܩܠܐ ܕܩ̇ܪܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܦܢܘ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܪܘܨܘ ܒܦܩܥܬܐ ܫܒ̈ܝܠܐ ܠܐܠܗܢ
l'lhn shbyl' bpqeth' wthrwtsw lmry' 'wrkh' pnw bmdbr' dqr' ql'
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܢܚ̈ܠܐ ܢܬܡܠܘܢ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܢܬܡܟܟܘܢ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܥܪܡܐ ܠܫܦܝܐ ܘܐܬܪܐ ܥܣܩܐ ܠܦܩܥܬܐ
lpqeth' esq' w'thr' lshpy' erm' wnhw' nthmkkwn wrmth' Twr' wklhwn nthmlwn nkhl' klhwn
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.

ܘܢܬܓܠܐ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܚܙܘܢܗ ܐܟܚܕܐ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܡܛܠ ܕܦܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܠ
mll dmry' dpwmh mTl bsr kl 'kkhd' wnkhzwnh dmry' 'yqrh wnthgl'
Yahweh’s glory shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”

ܩܠܐ ܕܐܡ̇ܪ ܩܪܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܢܐ ܐܩܪܐ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܥܡܝܪܐ ܘܟܠܗ̇ ܝܐܝܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܥܘܦܝܐ ܕܚܩܠܐ

The voice of one saying, “Cry out!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.

ܐܝܒܫ ܥܡܝܪܐ ܘܚܡܐ ܥܘܦܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܘܚܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܫܒܬ ܒܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘ ܥܡܝܪܗ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' dem' emyrh hw hkn' bh nshbth dmry' drwkhh mTl ewpy' wkhm' emyr' 'ybsh
The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.

ܝܒ̇ܫ ܥܡܝܪܐ ܘܚ̇ܡܐ ܥܘܦܝܐ ܘܡܠܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܠܥܠܡܝܢ
lelmyn qym' d'lhn wmlthh ewpy' wkhm' emyr' ybsh
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”

ܥܠ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܪ̈ܡܐ ܣܩܝ ܠܟܝ ܨܗܝܘܢ̈ ܡܣܒܪܬܐ ܐܪܝܡܝ ܩܠܟܝ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ̈ ܡܣܒܪܬܐ ܐܪܝܡܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܚܠܝܢ ܐܡܪܘ ܠܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܗܐ ܐܠܗܟܝܢ

You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”

ܗܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܬ̇ܐ ܒܥܘܫܢܐ ܘܕܪܥܗ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܗܐ ܐܓܪܗ ܥܡܗ ܘܥ̇ܒܕܗ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ

Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.

ܐܝܟ ܪܥܝܐ ܕܪܥ̇ܐ ܠܓܙܪܗ ܘܒܕܪܥܗ ܡܟܢܫ ܐܡܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܚܢܗ ܫܩ̇ܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܕܡܝ̈ܢܩܢ ܡܬܪܣܐ
mthrs' wldmynqn lhwn shql wbkhnh 'mr' mknsh wbdreh lgzrh dre' rey' 'yk
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.

ܡܢܘ ܐܟܝܠ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܫܘܥܠܗ ܘܫܡܝܐ ܡܫܚ ܒܙܪܬܗ ܘܐܟܝܠ ܒܙܘܪܗ ܥܦܪܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܬܩܠ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܒܡܬܩܠܐ ܘܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܒܡܣܐܬܐ

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

ܡܢܘ ܬܩܢ ܪܘܚܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܘ ܡܢܘ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܒܥܠ ܡܠ̣ܟܐ

Who has directed Yahweh’s Spirit, or has taught him as his counselor?

ܒܡܢܘ ܐܬܡܠܟ ܘܐܠܦܗ ܘܣܟܠܗ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܘܐܠܦܗ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܣܘܟܠܐ ܚܘܝܗ
khwyh dswkl' w'wrkh' ydeth' w'lph ddyn' 'wrkh' wsklh w'lph 'thmlk bmnw
Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?

ܗܐ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܛܦܬܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܣܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܢܙܠܐ ܕܡܣܐܬܐ ܘܓܙܪ̈ܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܚܝܚܐ ܢܫ̈ܬܕܝܢ
nshthdyn dkhykh' 'yk wgzrth' dms'th' nzl' w'yk qds' mn nwTpth' 'yk emm' h'
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.

ܘܠܒܢܢ ܠܐ ܚܫܝܒ ܠܗ ܠܝܩܕܢܐ ܘܚܝܘܬܗ ܠܐ ܚܫܝܒܐ ܠܗ ܠܥܠܬܐ
lelth' lh khshyb' l' wkhywthh lyqdn' lh khshyb l' wlbnn
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.

ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܗ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ ܘܠܚܪܒܐ ܚܫܝܒܝܢ ܠܗ
lh khshybyn wlkhrb' l'bdn' lh khshybyn mdm l' 'yk emm' wklhwn
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.

ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܝܬܘܢܝܗܝ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܘܠܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܡܝܬܘܢܝܗܝ
dmythwnyhy dmwth' wl'yd' l'lh' dmythwnyhy lmn
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?

ܨܠܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܥܒܕ ܢܓܪܐ ܘܩܝܢܝܐ ܒܕܗܒܐ ܩܪܡܗ ܘܣܐܡܐ ܨܪܝܦܐ
tsryp' ws'm' qrmh bdhb' wqyny' ngr' debd hw tslm'
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.

ܩܒܥ ܒܗ ܦܪܝܫ ܗܘ ܩܝܣܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܒܠܛ ܘܓܒܐ ܢܓܪܐ ܘܒܚܟܡܬܗ ܓܠܦܗ ܘܡܬܩܢ ܨܠܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܙܐ̇ܥ
z'e dl' tslm' wmthqn glph wbkhkmthh ngr' wgb' mblT dl' qys' hw prysh bh qbe
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up a carved image for him that will not be moved.

ܠܐ ܫܡܥܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥܬܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܐܡܪ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܪܫܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܣܬܟܠܬܘܢ ܫܬܐ̈ܣܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' shth'syh 'sthklthwn wl' rshyth' mn lkwn 'th'mr wl' ydethwn wl' shmethwn l'
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?

ܘܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ ܥܠ ܚܘܓܬܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܐܝܟ ܩܡܨܐ ܕܡܬܚ ܫܡܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܟܦܬܐ ܘܡܬܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܫܟܢܐ ܠܝܬܒܐ
lythb' mshkn' 'yk 'nwn wmthkh kpth' 'yk shmy' dmthkh qmts' 'yk wemwryh d're' khwgthh el dythb wlmn
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in,

ܕܥܒܕ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܐ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܘܕܝ̇ܢ̈ܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܝܬ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn dlyth 'yk d're' wdyn' mdm l' shlyT' debd
who brings princes to nothing, who makes the judges of the earth meaningless.

ܠܐ ܢܨܒܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܙܪܥܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܪܡܘܢ ܥܩܪܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܢܦܘܚ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܢܐܒܫܘܢ ܘܥܠܥܠܐ ܬܫܩܘܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܠܚܒܬܐ
dlkhbth' 'yk 'nwn thshqwl welel' wn'bshwn bhwn npwkh b're' eqr' nrmwn wl' nzrewn wl' ntsbwn l'
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.

ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܡܝܬܘܢܢܝ ܕܦܚ̇ܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܩܕܝܫܐ
qdysh' 'mr lh 'n' dpkhm dmythwnny lmn
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.

ܐܪܝܡܘ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܠܡܪܘܡܐ ܘܚܙܘ ܡܢܘ ܒܪܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܡܦܩ ܒܡܢܝܢܐ ܚܝ̈ܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܩܪܐ ܫܡ̈ܗܐ ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܐܝܩܪܗ ܘܒܥܘܫܢܐ ܕܚܝܠܗ ܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܛ̇ܥܐ
Te' l' 'nsh dkhylh wbewshn' d'yqrh bswg'' shmh' qr' wlklhwn khylwthhwn bmnyn' dmpq hlyn br' mnw wkhzw lmrwm' eynykwn 'rymw
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.

ܠܡܢܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܐܢܬ ܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܐܡ̇ܪ ܐܢܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܡܛܫ̈ܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܝ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܥܒܪ ܕܝܢܝ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܝ
'lhy mn dyny wmebr mry' mn 'wrkhthy dmTshyn 'ysryl 'nth w'mr yeqwb 'nth mmll lmn'
Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God”?

ܠܐ ܝܕܥܬ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܪܐ ܣܘ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܛܪܦ ܘܠܐ ܠܐ̇ܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܒܘܕܩܐ ܠܣܘܟܠܗ
lswklh bwdq' wlyth l'' wl' mthTrp l' d're' swpyh dbr' hw mry' lelm d'lh' shmeth wl' ydeth l'
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

ܝܗ̇ܒ ܚܝܠܐ ܠܡܛܪ̈ܦܐ ܘܠܡܟܐ̈ܒܝ ܟܐܒܐ ܡܣܓܐ ܥܘܫܢܐ

He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.

ܢܬܛܪܦܘܢ ܥ̈ܠܝܡܐ ܘܢܠܐܘܢ ܘܓܕܘ̈ܕܐ ܡܬܬܩܠܘ ܢܬܬܩܠܘܢ

Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;

ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܣܒܪܝܢ ܒܡܪܝܐ ܢܚܠܦܘܢ ܚܝܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܘܥܘܢ ܓܦ̈ܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܘܢܐ ܘܢܪܗܛܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܠܐܘܢ ܘܢܗܠܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܛܪܦܘܢ
nthTrpwn wl' wnhlkwn nl'wn wl' wnrhTwn dywn' 'yk gp' wnwewn khylhwn nkhlpwn bmry' dmsbryn w'ylyn
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
