ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܥܒܪ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܡܢ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܣܡܘܟܐ ܘܣܡܘܟܬܐ ܟܠ ܕܣܡܟ ܒܠܚܡܐ ܘܟܠ ܕܣܡܟ ܒܡ̈ܝܐ
bmy' dsmk wkl blkhm' dsmk kl wsmwkth' smwk' yhwd' wmn 'wrshlm mn mebr mrwth' mr' dh' mTl
For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;

ܘܓܢܒܪܐ ܘܓܒܪܐ ܩܪܒܬܢܐ ܘܕܝ̇ܢܐ ܘܢܒܝܐ ܘܩܨܘܡܐ ܘܩܫܝܫܐ
wqshysh' wqtswm' wnby' wdyn' qrbthn' wgbr' wgnbr'
the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder,

ܘܪܝܫ ܚܡܫܝܢ ܘܗܕܝܪ ܐ̈ܦܐ ܘܡܠܘܟܐ ܘܚܟܝܡ ܢܓܪ̈ܐ ܘܕܡܬܒܝܢ ܒܡܠ̣ܟܐ
bmlk' wdmthbyn ngr' wkhkym wmlwk' 'p' whdyr khmshyn wrysh
the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter.

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܥܠܝ̈ܡܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝܗܘܢ ܘܡܒ̈ܙܚܢܐ ܢܫܬܠܛܘܢ ܒܗܘܢ
bhwn nshthlTwn wmbzkhn' rwrbnyhwn elym' w'qym
I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.

ܘܢܦܠ ܥܡܐ ܓܒܪ ܒܓܒܪ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܚܒܪܗ ܘܢܬܓܪܘܢ ܥܠܝ̈ܡܐ ܥܠ ܣ̈ܒܐ ܘܡܨܥܪ̈ܐ ܥܠ ܡܝܩܪ̈ܐ
myqr' el wmtser' sb' el elym' wnthgrwn bkhbrh gbr' bgbr gbr em' wnpl
The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.

ܡܛܠ ܕܢܐܚܘܕ ܓܒܪܐ ܓܒܪ ܠܐܚܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܢܚ̈ܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܠܟ ܗܘܝ ܠܢ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܘܬܘܩܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܐܝܕܟ
'ydk thkhyth hd' wthwqlth' shlyT' ln hwy lk 'yth nkhth' lh wn'mr 'bwhy byth mn l'khwhy gbr gbr' dn'khwd mTl
Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, “You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.”

ܘܢܥܢܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܢܐܡܪ ܠܐ ܗܘ̇ܐ ܐܢܐ ܪܝܫܐ ܕܒܒܝܬܝ ܠܝܬ ܠܚܡܐ ܘܐܦ ܠܐ ܬܟܣܝܬܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢܢܝ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܐ

In that day he will cry out, saying, “I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing. You shall not make me ruler of the people.”

ܡܛܘܠ ܕܐܬܬܩܠܬ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܝܗܘܕܐ ܢܦܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܘܥܒ̇ܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ ܡܪܡܪܘ ܩܕܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܥܢܢܐ ܕܐܝܩܪܗ
d'yqrh wlenn' mry' qdm mrmrw 'ydyhwn webd dlshnhwn mTl npl wyhwd' 'wrshlm d'ththqlth mTwl
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against Yahweh, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

ܡܣܒ ܒܐ̈ܦܝܗܘܢ ܣܗ̇ܕ ܒܗܘܢ ܘܚ̈ܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܣܕܘܡ ܚܘܝܘ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܬܟܣܘ ܘܝ ܠܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܐܪܡܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܚ̈ܘܒܠܐ ܒܝܫ̈ܐ
bysh' khwbl' lhwn d'rmyw lnpshhwn wy 'ththksw wl' khwyw sdwm 'yk wkhThyhwn bhwn shd b'pyhwn msb
The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They don’t hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought disaster upon themselves.

ܐܡܪܘ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܛܒ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܦܐܪ̈ܝ ܥ̇ܒܕܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܢܐܟܠܘܢ
n'klwn ebdyhwn p'ry hn' mTl Tb lzdyq' 'mrw
Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.

ܘܝ ܠܪܫܝܥܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒ̇ܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܡܬܦܪܥ
mthpre 'ydwhy debd mTl bysh' lrshye' wy
Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them, for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.

ܫ̈ܠܝܛܘܗܝ ܕܥܡܝ ܡܒܥܪܝܢ ܠܗ ܘܢܫ̈ܐ ܐܫܬܠܛ ܒܗ ܥܡܝ ܡܛܐ̈ܒܢܝܟ ܐܛܥܝܘܟ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܫܒܝ̈ܠܝܟ ܕܠܚܘ

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.

ܩܐ̇ܡ ܠܡܕܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܩܐ̇ܡ ܠܡܕܢ ܠܥܡܗ

Yahweh stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples.

ܡܪܝܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܢܥܘܠ ܥܡ ܣܒ̈ܐ ܕܥܡܗ ܘܥܡ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܘܩܕܬܘܢ ܟܪܡܐ ܘܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܕܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܒܒ̈ܬܝܟܘܢ
bbthykwn dmskn' wkhTwpy' krm' 'wqdthwn 'nthwn rwrbnwhy wem demh sb' em newl bdyn' mry'
Yahweh will enter into judgment with the elders of his people and their leaders: “It is you who have eaten up the vineyard. The plunder of the poor is in your houses.

ܠܡܢܐ ܢܟܝܬܘܢ ܠܥܡܝ ܘܐ̈ܦܐ ܕܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܐܒܗܬܬܘܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ
khylthn' mry' 'mr 'bhththwn dmskn' w'p' lemy nkythwn lmn'
What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

ܥܠ ܕܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܒܢ̈ܬ ܨܗܝܘܢ ܘܗܠܟ ܒܨܘܪܐ ܪܡܐ ܘܒܪܡܙܐ ܕܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܡܗ̈ܠܟܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܘܡܛܪ̈ܦܢ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܗܝܢ ܘܡܪ̈ܓܙܢ
wmrgzn brglyhyn wmTrpn hwy mhlkn deyn' wbrmz' rm' btswr' whlk tshywn bnth d'ththrym el
Moreover Yahweh said, “Because the daughters of Zion are arrogant, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking daintily as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet;

ܢܡܟܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܪ̈ܫܝܬܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܬ ܨܗܝܘܢ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܐܣܟܡܗܝܢ ܢܦܪܣܐ

therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and Yahweh will make their scalps bald.”

ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܥܒܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܢܚ̈ܬܝܗܝܢ ܘܕܨܒܬܗܝܢ ܘܕܓܕܘ̈ܠܝܗܝܢ
wdgdwlyhyn wdtsbthhyn dnkhthyhyn shwbkh' mry' nebr hw bywm'
In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, the headbands, the crescent necklaces,

ܘܨܕܥ̈ܝܗܝܢ ܘܨܒܬܐ ܕܐ̈ܦܝܗܝܢ ܘܩ̈ܕܫܝܗܝܢ ܘܥܩ̈ܝܗܝܢ ܘܐܩ̈ܠܢܝܗܝܢ
w'qlnyhyn weqyhyn wqdshyhyn d'pyhyn wtsbth' wtsdeyhyn
the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume containers, the charms,

ܘܟܘܬ̈ܝܢܝܬܗܝܢ ܘܡܫ̈ܠܡܢܝܬܗܝܢ ܘܒܘܨܗܝܢ ܘܐܪ̈ܓܘܢܝܗܝܢ
w'rgwnyhyn wbwtshyn wmshlmnythhyn wkwthynythhyn
the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses,

ܘܢܚ̈ܬܝܗܝܢ ܘܬܟܠܝ̈ܬܗܝܢ ܘܙܚܘܪ̈ܝܬܗܝܢ ܘܨܡܕܐ ܟܠܗ ܕܨܒܬܗܝܢ
dtsbthhyn klh wtsmd' wzkhwrythhyn wthklythhyn wnkhthyhyn
the hand mirrors, the fine linen garments, the tiaras, and the shawls.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܚܠܐ ܚܠܦ ܪܝܚܗܝܢ ܒܣܝܡܐ ܘܚܠܦ ܐܣܪ ܚ̈ܨܝܗܝܢ ܡܝܙܪ̈ܢܐ ܢܐܣܪ̈ܢ ܘܚܠܦ ܒܠܘܪ̈ܐ ܩܘܕܚ̈ܬܐ ܘܚܠܦ ܬܟ̈ܠܝܬܗܝܢ ܣ̈ܩܐ ܢܬ̈ܟܣܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܢܬܚܒܠ ܫܘܦܪܗܝܢ
shwprhyn dnthkhbl mTl nthksyn sq' thklythhyn wkhlp qwdkhth' blwr' wkhlp n'srn myzrn' khtsyhyn 'sr wkhlp bsym' rykhhyn khlp khl' wnhw'
It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.

ܘܥܫܝ̈ܢܝܟܝ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܘܓܢܒܪ̈ܝܟܝ ܒܩܪܒܐ

Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.
