ܘܝ ܠܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܕܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܬܪܥܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܢܝ ܘܢܩܝܘ ܢܘܩ̈ܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܝ ܕܢܘܣܦܘܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܐ ܥܠ ܚ̈ܛܗܐ
khTh' el khTh' dnwspwn rwkhy mn dl' nwqy' wnqyw mny wl' threyth' debdw mry' 'mr mrwd' lbny' wy
“Woe to the rebellious children”, says Yahweh, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

ܕܐܙܠܘ ܠܡܚܬ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܡܢ ܦܘܡܝ ܠܐ ܫܐܠܘ ܕܢܬܥܫܢܘܢ ܒܥܘܫܢܗ ܕܦܪܥܘܢ ܘܢܣܬܬܪܘܢ ܒܛܠܠܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn bTllh wnsththrwn dprewn bewshnh dntheshnwn sh'lw l' pwmy wmn lmtsryn lmkhth d'zlw
who set out to go down into Egypt without asking for my advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!

ܢܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܘܫܢܗ ܕܦܪܥܘܢ ܠܒܗܬܬܐ ܘܣܬܪܐ ܕܛܠܠܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܬܚܦܝܬܐ
lthkhpyth' dmtsryn dTllh wsthr' lbhthth' dprewn ewshnh lkwn nhw'
Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘ ܒܨܥܢ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܘܡܠܐ̈ܟܘܗܝ ܚ̈ܠܦܐ ܢܠܐܘܢ

For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes.

ܠܘܬ ܥܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܬܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܠܥܘܕܪܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܠܗܢܝܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܒܗܬܬܐ ܘܠܚܣܕܐ
wlkhsd' lbhthth' 'l' lhnyn' wl' lewdrn' l' lhwn mwthr dl' em' lwth
They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”

ܡܫܩܠܐ ܕܒܥܝܪܐ ܕܬܝܡܢܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܐܠܝܨܬܐ ܘܡܥܝܩܬܐ ܐܪܝܐ ܘܓܘܪܝܐ ܕܐܪܝܐ ܘܡܢܗܘܢ ܐܣܦܣ ܘܚܪܡܢܐ ܕܦ̇ܪܚ ܢܫܩܠܘܢ ܥܠ ܚܨܐ ܕܥܝ̈ܠܐ ܥܘܬܪܗܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܓܒܐ ܕܓܡ̈ܠܐ ܓܙܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܥܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܢܐ ܠܗܘܢ

The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.

ܘܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܒܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܒܕܓܠܘܬܐ ܡܥܕܪܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܩ̇ܪܝܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܣܪܝܩ ܗܘ ܬܘܟܠܢܗܘܢ ܗܢܐ
hn' thwklnhwn hw dsryq lhwn qryth hn' mTl medryn wbdglwth' bsryqwth' wmtsry'
For Egypt helps in vain, and to no purpose; therefore I have called her Rahab who sits still.

ܡܟܝܠ ܬܐ ܟܬܘܒ ܥܠ ܠܘܚ̈ܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܟܬܒܐ ܕܩܝܡܗܘܢ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܝܐ ܠܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܠܥܠܡ ܥܠܡܝܢ
elmyn lelm lshdwth' 'khry' lywm' dnhw' dqymhwn kthb' wel hlyn lwkh' el kthwb th' mkyl
Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܘ ܡܡܪܡܪܢܐ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܕ̈ܓܠܐ ܒ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܨܒܘ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܢܡܘܣܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' nmwsh lmshme tsbw dl' bny' dgl' 'nwn bny' mmrmrn' hw dem' mTl
For it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear Yahweh’s law;

ܕܐܡܪܘ ܠܚ̈ܙܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܚܙܘܢ ܘܠܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܢܒܘܢ ܠܢ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܡܠܠܘ ܠܢ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܘܚܙܘ ܠܢ ܟܕܒܘܬܐ

who tell the seers, “Don’t see!” and the prophets, “Don’t prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.

ܘܐܣܛܐܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܐܗܦܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܫܒܝ̈ܠܐ ܘܒܛܠܘ ܡܢܢ ܠܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl lqdysh' mnn wbTlw shbyl' mn w'hpkwn 'wrkh' mn w'sT'wn
Get out of the way. Turn away from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܕܐܣܠܝܬܘܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܐܬܬܟܠܬܘܢ ܒܛܠܘܡܝܐ ܘܪܛܢܬܘܢ ܘܐܬܬܟܠܬܘܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ
elwhy w'ththklthwn wrTnthwn bTlwmy' w'ththklthwn hd' mlth' d'slythwn el d'ysryl qdysh' 'mr hkn' hn' mTl
Therefore the Holy One of Israel says, “Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and rely on it,

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܚܛܝܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܕܢܦܠܬ ܘܐܝܟ ܫܘܪܐ ܪܡܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܗܘܐ ܬܒܪܗ
thbrh hw' shly' dmn rm' shwr' w'yk dnplth thwreth' 'yk hd' khTyth' lkwn thhw' hn' mTl
therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in an instant.

ܘܬܒܪܗ ܐܝܟ ܬܒܪܐ ܕܡܐܢܐ ܕܦܚܪܐ ܕܬܒܝܪ ܕܠܐ ܚܘܣܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܬܟܚ ܒܬܒܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܚܨܦܐ ܠܡܣܒ ܒܗ ܢܘܪܐ ܡܢ ܝܩܕܢܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܠܡܓܪܦ ܒܗ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܡܢ ܓܘܒܐ
gwb' mn my' bh lmgrp 'pl' yqdn' mn nwr' bh lmsb khtsp' bthbrwhy mshthkkh dl' khwsn dl' dthbyr dpkhr' dm'n' thbr' 'yk wthbrh
He will break it as a potter’s vessel is broken, breaking it in pieces without sparing, so that there won’t be found among the broken pieces a piece good enough to take fire from the hearth, or to dip up water out of the cistern.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܐ ܕܬܒܬܘܢ ܘܐܬܬܢܚܬܘܢ ܬܬܦܪܩܘܢ ܘܒܫܠܝܐ ܘܒܣܒܪܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܓܢܒܪܘܬܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܛܦܝܣܬܘܢ
'thTpysthwn wl' gnbrwthkwn thhw' wbsbr' wbshly' ththprqwn w'ththnkhthwn dthbthwn m' d'ysryl qdysh' 'mr dhkn' mTl
For thus said the Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, “You will be saved in returning and rest. Your strength will be in quietness and in confidence.” You refused,

ܘܐܡܪܬܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܢܪܟܒ ܘܥܠ ܩ̈ܠܝܠܐ ܢܥܪܘܩ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܬܥܪܩܘܢ ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܩܠܝܠܝܢ ܪ̈ܕܘܦܝܟܘܢ
rdwpykwn qlylyn wnhwwn therqwn hn' mTl nerwq qlyl' wel nrkb rksh' el hkn' l' w'mrthwn
but you said, “No, for we will flee on horses;” therefore you will flee; and, “We will ride on the swift;” therefore those who pursue you will be swift.

ܐܠܦ ܡܢ ܟܐܬܐ ܕܚܕ ܘܡܢ ܟܐܬܐ ܕܚܡܫܐ ܬܥܪܩܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܬܫܬܚܪܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܪ̈ܕܐ ܥܠ ܪܝܫ ܛܘܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܬܐ ܥܠ ܪܡܬܐ
rmth' el 'th' w'yk Twr' rysh el erd' 'yk dthshthkhrwn edm' therqwn dkhmsh' k'th' wmn dkhd k'th' mn 'lp
One thousand will flee at the threat of one. At the threat of five, you will flee until you are left like a beacon on the top of a mountain, and like a banner on a hill.

ܡܛܠ ܕܢܫܪܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܪܚܡܘ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܪܝܡ ܠܡܪܚܦܘ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܝ̇ܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܛܘܒܝܗܘܢ ܠܟܠ ܕܡܣܟܝܢ ܠܗ
lh dmskyn lkl wTwbyhwn mry' dyn' hw d'lh' mTl elykwn lmrkhpw wnththrym elykwn lmrkhmw mry' dnshr' mTl
Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.

ܡܛܠ ܕܥܡܐ ܒܨܗܝܘܢ ܝܬ̇ܒ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܡܒܟܐ ܠܐ ܬܒܟܘܢ ܡܪܚܡܘ ܢܪܚܡ ܥܠ ܩܠܐ ܕܓܥܬܟܘܢ. ܡܐ ܕܫܡܥ ܢܥܢܝܟܘܢ
nenykwn dshme m' dgethkwn ql' el nrkhm mrkhmw thbkwn l' mbk' wb'wrshlm ythb btshywn dem' mTl
For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

ܘܢܬܠ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܚܡܐ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܘܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܟܢܫ ܬܘܒ ܠܡܛܥܝܢ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܢܚ̈ܙܝܢ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܒܡܛܥܝܢ̈ܝܟܘܢ
bmTeynykwn eynykwn wnkhzyn lmTeynykwn thwb nknsh wl' b'wltsn' wmy' b'wltsn' lkhm' mry' lkwn wnthl
Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your teachers won’t be hidden any more, but your eyes will see your teachers;

ܘܐ̈ܕܢܝܟܘܢ ܢܫ̈ܡܥܢ ܡܠܬܐ ܡܢ ܒܣܬܪܟܘܢ ܕܐܡ̇ܪܐ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܙܠܘ ܒܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܬܣܛܘܢ ܠܝܡܝܢܐ ܘܠܣܡܠܐ
wlsml' lymyn' thsTwn wl' bh zlw 'wrkh' hy hd' d'mr' bsthrkwn mn mlth' nshmen w'dnykwn
and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

ܘܬܛܘܫܘܢ ܣܐܡܐ ܕܩܪܝܡ ܠܦܬܟܪ̈ܝܟܘܢ ܘܦܕܬܐ ܕܢܣܟܬܐ ܕܕܗܒܗܘܢ ܘܬܕܪܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܟܦܣܢܝܬܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܢܦܬܐ ܬܦܩܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn thpqwn npth' w'yk dkpsnyth' my' 'yk 'nwn wthdrwn ddhbhwn dnskth' wpdth' lpthkrykwn dqrym s'm' wthTwshwn
You shall defile the overlaying of your engraved images of silver, and the plating of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them away as an unclean thing. You shall tell it, “Go away!”

ܘܢܬܝܗܒ ܡܛܪܐ ܠܙܪܥܟܘܢ ܕܬܙܪܥܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܥܒܘܪܐ ܕܙܪܥܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܕܗܝܢ ܘܫܡܝܢ ܪܥܝܐ ܕܒܥܝܪܟܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܫܡܝܢܐ
shmyn' b'thr' hw bywm' dbeyrkwn rey' wshmyn dhyn nhw' d're' dzre' webwr' b're' dthzrewn lzrekwn mTr' wnthyhb
He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.

ܘܒܩܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܪ̈ܘܢܐ ܕܦܠܚ̇ܝܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܒܠܝܠܐ ܚܡܝܡܐ ܢܐܟܠܘܢ ܕܡܣܠܩ ܒܪܦܫܐ ܘܒܡܕܪܝܐ
wbmdry' brpsh' dmslq n'klwn khmym' blyl' b're' dplkhyn w'rwn' wbqr'
The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that till the ground will eat savory feed, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fork.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܟܠ ܛܘܪ ܕܪܡ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܪܡܬܐ ܕܪܡܐ ܢܪܕܘܢ ܬ̇ܦܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܩܛܠܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܒܣܘܚܦܐ ܕܡ̈ܓܕܠܐ
dmgdl' wbswkhp' rb' dqTl' bywm' dmy' thp' nrdwn drm' rmth' kl wel drm Twr kl el wnhw'
There will be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܢܘܗܪܗ ܕܣܗܪܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܗܪܗ ܕܫܡܫܐ ܘܢܘܗܪܗ ܕܫܡܫܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܚܕ ܒܫܒ̈ܥܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܕܫܒܥܐ ܝܘܡ̈ܝܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܢܥܨܘܒ ܡܪܝܐ ܬܒܪܐ ܕܥܡܗ ܘܟܐܒܐ ܕܡܚܘܬܗ ܢܐܣܐ

Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that Yahweh binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.

ܗܐ ܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܬ̇ܐ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܝܩ̇ܕ ܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܫܒܝܚ ܡܫܩܠܗ ܘܣ̈ܦܘܬܗ ܡ̈ܠܝܢ ܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܠܫܢܗ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܪܐ ܕܝܩ̇ܕܐ
dyqd' nwr' 'yk wlshnh rwgz' mlyn wspwthh mshqlh wshbykh rwgzh yqd rwkhq' mn 'th' dmry' shmh h'
Behold, Yahweh’s name comes from far away, burning with his anger, and in thick rising smoke. His lips are full of indignation. His tongue is as a devouring fire.

ܘܪܘܚܗ ܐܝܟ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܓ̇ܪܦ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܨܘܪܐ ܢܦܣܘܩ ܠܡܕܠܚ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܡܛܠ ܛܥܝܘܬܗܘܢ ܣܪܝܩܬܐ ܘܠܦܓܘܕܬܐ ܡܛܥܝܢܝܬܐ ܕܥܠ ܦܟܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ
demm' pkyhwn del mTeynyth' wlpgwdth' sryqth' Teywthhwn mTl emm' lmdlkh npswq ltswr' edm' dgrp nkhl' 'yk wrwkhh
His breath is as an overflowing stream that reaches even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction. A bridle that leads to ruin will be in the jaws of the peoples.

ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܐܬܩܕܫ ܒܚܓܐ ܘܚܕܘܬܗ ܕܠܒܐ ܐܝܟ ܗܘ̇ ܕܡܗܠܟ ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܠܡܐܬܐ ܠܛܘܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܘܬ ܬܩܝܦܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl thqyp' lwth dmry' lTwrh lm'th' bkhdwth' dmhlk hw 'yk dlb' wkhdwthh bkhg' d'thqdsh klyl' lkwn nhw' thshbwkhth'
You will have a song, as in the night when a holy feast is kept, and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a flute to come to Yahweh’s mountain, to Israel’s Rock.

ܘܢܫܡܥ ܡܪܝܐ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܩܠܗ ܘܡܚܘܬܐ ܕܕܪܥܗ ܢܚܘܐ ܒܚܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܒܫܠܗܒܝܬܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܕܐܟ̇ܠܐ ܒܙܪܝܦܬܐ ܕܚܒ̇ܛܐ ܘܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܕܒܪܕܐ
dbrd' wk'p' dkhbT' bzrypth' d'kl' dnwr' wbshlhbyth' drwgz' bkhmth' nkhw' ddreh wmkhwth' dqlh shwbkh' mry' wnshme
Yahweh will cause his glorious voice to be heard, and will show the descent of his arm, with the indignation of his anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with a blast, storm, and hailstones.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܪܒܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܢܬܬܒܪ ܐܬܘܪܝܐ ܘܒܫܒܛܐ ܢܒܠܥ

For through Yahweh’s voice the Assyrian will be dismayed. He will strike him with his rod.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܚܘܛܪܐ ܕܫܘܥܒܕܐ ܕܢܢܝܚ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܒ̈ܦܠܓܐ ܘܒܟܢܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܩܪܒܐ ܥܫܝܢܐ ܢܬܟܬܫ ܒܗ

Every stroke of the rod of punishment, which Yahweh will lay on him, will be with the sound of tambourines and harps. He will fight with them in battles, brandishing weapons.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܛܝܒ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܗ ܐܦ ܗܝ ܐܬܛܝܒܬ ܕܬܡܠܟ ܘܥܡܩܬ ܘܪܘܚܬ ܒܝܬ ܡܥܡܪܗ̇ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܝܢ ܩܝܣ̈ܐ ܘܢܘܪܐ ܘܢܫܡܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܚܠܐ ܘܟܒܪܝܬܐ ܕܝܩ̇ܕܐ ܒܗ
