ארי הא רבון עלמא יי צבאות מעדי מירושלם ומיהודה סמך וסעיד כל סמך מיכל וכל סעיד משתי:
mshthy seyd wkl mykl smk kl wseyd smk wmyhwdh myrwshlm medy tsbawth yy elma rbwn ha ary
For, behold, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;

גבר וגבר עביד קרב דיין וספר ומשתאל וסב:
wsb wmshthal wspr dyyn qrb ebyd wgbr gbr
the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder,

רב חמשין ונסב אפין ומליך מילך ואמר ומשתמע וחכים וסוכלתן בעצה:
betsh wswklthn wkhkym wmshthme wamr mylk wmlyk apyn wnsb khmshyn rb
the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter.

ואמני ינקיא פרנסיהון וחלשיא ישלטון בהון:
bhwn yshlTwn wkhlshya prnsyhwn ynqya wamny
I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.

ויתגרון עמא גבר בגבר וגבר בחבריה ישלטון עולימיא בסבא ודשיט בדיקיר:
bdyqyr wdshyT bsba ewlymya yshlTwn bkhbryh wgbr bgbr gbr ema wythgrwn
The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the wicked against the honorable.

ארי יחוד גבר באחוהי מזרעית בית אבוהי למימר כסו אית לך רב תהא עלנא ומגביתא הדא תהא תחות ידך:
ydk thkhwth thha hda wmgbytha elna thha rb lk ayth ksw lmymr abwhy byth mzreyth bakhwhy gbr ykhwd ary
Indeed a man shall take hold of his brother in the house of his father, saying, “You have clothing, you be our ruler, and let this ruin be under your hand.”

יתיב בעדנא ההיא למימר לית אנא כשר למהוי ריש ובביתי לית מה דאיכול ולית מה דאתכסי לא תמנוני רב בריש כל עמא:
ema kl brysh rb thmnwny la dathksy mh wlyth daykwl mh lyth wbbythy rysh lmhwy kshr ana lyth lmymr hhya bedna ythyb
In that day he will cry out, saying, “I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing. You shall not make me ruler of the people.”

ארי אתקילו יתבי ירושלם ואנש יהודה גלו ארי ממלל פומהון ואגר עובדיהון גלן קדם יי ומרגזין קדם יקריה:
yqryh qdm wmrgzyn yy qdm gln ewbdyhwn wagr pwmhwn mmll ary glw yhwdh wansh yrwshlm ythby athqylw ary
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against Yahweh, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

אשתמודעות אפיהון בדינא אסהיד בהון וחטאיהון כסדומאי קבלין ולא מנעין וי לנפשיהון ארי גרמו דתיתי להון בישא:
bysha lhwn dthythy grmw ary lnpshyhwn wy mneyn wla qblyn ksdwmay wkhTayhwn bhwn ashyd bdyna apyhwn ashthmwdewth
The look of their faces testify against them. They parade their sin like Sodom. They don’t hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought disaster upon themselves.

אמרו לצדיקא טוביכון ארי פרי עובדיהון ישתלמון:
yshthlmwn ewbdyhwn pry ary Twbykwn ltsdyqa amrw
Tell the righteous that it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds.

וי לרשיעיא דעובדיהון בישין ארי גמלא דידיהון יתתב להון:
lhwn yththb dydyhwn gmla ary byshyn dewbdyhwn lrshyeya wy
Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them, for the deeds of their hands will be paid back to them.

עמי דסרכוהי בזזהוי כמעללי לכרמא וכמרי חובא שליטו ביה עמי משבחך אטעיוך ואורח שבילך קלקילו:
qlqylw shbylk wawrkh aTeywk mshbkhk emy byh shlyTw khwba wkmry lkrma kmelly bzzhwy dsrkwhy emy
As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. My people, those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.

עתיד למדן יי ומתגלי למעבד פורענות דין מן עממיא:
emmya mn dyn pwrenwth lmebd wmthgly yy lmdn ethyd
Yahweh stands up to contend, and stands to judge the peoples.

יי בדינא יעול ית סבי עמא וסרכוהי ואתון אנסתון ית עמי חטוף מסכנא בבתיכון:
bbthykwn mskna khTwp emy yth ansthwn wathwn wsrkwhy ema sby yth yewl bdyna yy
Yahweh will enter into judgment with the elders of his people and their leaders: “It is you who have eaten up the vineyard. The plunder of the poor is in your houses.

מה לכון דאתון ממסכנין ית עמי ואפי חשיכיא מבלין אתון ומיתין בדיניהון אמר יי אלהים צבאות:
tsbawth alhym yy amr bdynyhwn wmythyn athwn mblyn khshykya wapy emy yth mmsknyn dathwn lkwn mh
What do you mean that you crush my people, and grind the face of the poor?” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

ואמר יי חלף דאתרברבא בנת ציון ואזלן מרימן צואר ומסרבקן עינין אזלן ובפתהן מקפן וברגלהן מרגזן:
mrgzn wbrglhn mqpn wbpthhn azln eynyn wmsrbqn tswar mrymn wazln tsywn bnth dathrbrba khlp yy wamr
Moreover Yahweh said, “Because the daughters of Zion are arrogant, and walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, walking daintily as they go, jingling ornaments on their feet;

וישעביד יי יקרת בנת ציון ויי יקרהן יעדי:
yedy yqrhn wyy tsywn bnth yqrth yy wyshebyd
therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, and Yahweh will make their scalps bald.”
18
ביומא ההוא יעדי יי ית תושבחת דמסניא ושביסיא וסבכיא:
wsbkya wshbysya dmsnya thwshbkhth yth yy yedy hhwa bywma
In that day the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, the headbands, the crescent necklaces,

כליליא ושירי רגליא וקלמסמסיא וקדשיא וחליטתא:
wkhlyTtha wqdshya wqlmsmsya rglya wshyry klylya
the headdresses, the ankle chains, the sashes, the perfume containers, the charms,
22
כתוניא ושושיפיא לבורנקיא ומחכיא:
wmkhkya lbwrnqya wshwshypya kthwnya
the fine robes, the capes, the cloaks, the purses,
23
ומחזיתא וקרטסיא וכתריא וכבינתא:
wkbyntha wkthrya wqrTsya wmkhzytha
the hand mirrors, the fine linen garments, the tiaras, and the shawls.

ויהי אתר דהואה יהבן בוסמין יתמסי אתר דהואה אסרן פסיקיא יהי רושמין דמחא וחלף אקפות פתא גזוז ריש וחלף דהואה מהלכין בגיוה יסרן סקין דא פורענותא תתעביד מנהון ארי טעאה בשופרהון:
bshwprhwn Teah ary mnhwn ththebyd pwrenwtha da sqyn ysrn bgywh mhlkyn dhwah wkhlp rysh gzwz ptha aqpwth wkhlp dmkha rwshmyn yhy psyqya asrn dhwah athr ythmsy bwsmyn yhbn dhwah athr wyhy
It shall happen that instead of sweet spices, there shall be rottenness; instead of a belt, a rope; instead of well set hair, baldness; instead of a robe, a wearing of sackcloth; and branding instead of beauty.
25
שפר גבריך בחרבא יתקטלון ועבדי נצחניך בקרבא:
bqrba ntskhnyk webdy ythqTlwn bkhrba gbryk shpr
Your men shall fall by the sword, and your mighty in the war.
