וי מדבחא מדבחא דבני בקרתא די שרא בה דוד מן קדם כנישת משרין דמתכנשין עלה שנא בשנא בדחגין יבטלון:
ybTlwn bdkhgyn bshna shna elh dmthknshyn mshryn knyshth qdm mn dwd bh shra dy bqrtha dbny mdbkha mdbkha wy
Woe to Ariel! Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the feasts come around;

ועאיק לקרתא דמדבחא בה ותהי צדיא ורקניא ותהי מקפא קדמי דם קטילין כאקפות מדבחא דם נכסת קודשיא ביומא דחגא סחור סחור:
skhwr skhwr dkhga bywma qwdshya nksth dm mdbkha kaqpwth qTylyn dm qdmy mqpa wthhy wrqnya tsdya wthhy bh dmdbkha lqrtha weayq
then I will distress Ariel, and there will be mourning and lamentation. She shall be to me as an altar hearth.

ואשרי עליך משרין ואבני עליך כרקום ואצבור עליך מליתא:
mlytha elyk watsbwr krqwm elyk wabny mshryn elyk washry
I will encamp against you all around you, and will lay siege against you with posted troops. I will raise siege works against you.

ותמאכין מארעא תמללין ומעפרא ינצפן מליך ויהי כאוב מארעא קליך ומעפרא מליך ינצפן:
yntspn mlyk wmepra qlyk marea kawb wyhy mlyk yntspn wmepra thmllyn marea wthmakyn
You will be brought down, and will speak out of the ground. Your speech will mumble out of the dust. Your voice will be as of one who has a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and your speech will whisper out of the dust.

ויהי כאבק דקיק המון מבדריך וכמוץ דעדי אתרגושא תקיפין ויהי בתכיף אתרגושא:
athrgwsha bthkyp wyhy thqypyn athrgwsha dedy wkmwts mbdryk hmwn dqyq kabq wyhy
But the multitude of your foes will be like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones like chaff that blows away. Yes, it will be in an instant, suddenly.

מן קדם יי צבאות תתפקיד ברעם ובזיע וקל סגי בעלעול וברוח ושלהובי אשא דמשיציא:
dmshytsya asha wshlhwby wbrwkh belewl sgy wql wbzye brem ththpqyd tsbawth yy qdm mn
She will be visited by Yahweh of Armies with thunder, with earthquake, with great noise, with whirlwind and storm, and with the flame of a devouring fire.

ויהי כמחלם הרהור לילי המון כל עממיא דמתכנשין על קרתא דמדבחא בה וכל משריתהון וחיליהון ודמעיקין להון:
lhwn wdmeyqyn wkhylyhwn mshrythhwn wkl bh dmdbkha qrtha el dmthknshyn emmya kl hmwn lyly hrhwr kmkhlm wyhy
The multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all who fight against her and her stronghold, and who distress her, will be like a dream, a vision of the night.

ויהי כמא די יחלום כפנא והא אכיל ומתער וחסירא נפשיה וכמא דיחלום צחיא והא שתי ומתער והא משלחי ונפשה משלהיא כן יהי המון כל עממיא דמתכנשין על טורא דציון:
dtsywn Twra el dmthknshyn emmya kl hmwn yhy kn mshlhya wnpshh mshlkhy wha wmther shthy wha tskhya dykhlwm wkma npshyh wkhsyra wmther akyl wha kpna ykhlwm dy kma wyhy
It will be like when a hungry man dreams, and behold, he eats; but he awakes, and his hunger isn’t satisfied; or like when a thirsty man dreams, and behold, he drinks; but he awakes, and behold, he is faint, and he is still thirsty. The multitude of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion will be like that.

אתרפו ושחו אשתגישו איזדמימו ואשתממו רוו ולא מן חמר טעו ולא מן עתיק:
ethyq mn wla Tew khmr mn wla rww washthmmw ayzdmymw ashthgyshw wshkhw athrpw
Pause and wonder! Blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

ארי רמא ביניכון יי רוח דטעו ואטמר מנכון ית נבייא וית ספריא וית מלפיא דהוו מלפין לכון אולפן אוריתא טמר:
Tmr awrytha awlpn lkwn mlpyn dhww mlpya wyth sprya wyth nbyya yth mnkwn waTmr dTew rwkh yy bynykwn rma ary
For Yahweh has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and he has covered your heads, the seers.

והות לכון נבואת כולא כפתגמי ספרא דחתים דאם יתנון יתה לדידע ספרא למימר קרי כען דין ויימר לית אנא יכיל ארי חתים הוא:
hwa khthym ary ykyl ana lyth wyymr dyn ken qry lmymr spra ldyde ythh ythnwn dam dkhthym spra kpthgmy kwla nbwath lkwn whwth
All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t, for it is sealed;”

ויתיהב ספרא לדלא ידע ספרא למימר קרי כען דין ויימר לית אנא ידע ספרא:
spra yde ana lyth wyymr dyn ken qry lmymr spra yde ldla spra wythyhb
and the book is delivered to one who is not educated, saying, “Read this, please;” and he says, “I can’t read.”

ואמר יי חלף דאתרברב עמא הדין בפומהון ובספותהון מיקרין קדמי ולבהון אתרחק מדחלתי והות דחלתהון קדמי כתפקידת גברין מלפין:
mlpyn gbryn kthpqydth qdmy dkhlthhwn whwth mdkhlthy athrkhq wlbhwn qdmy myqryn wbspwthhwn bpwmhwn hdyn ema dathrbrb khlp yy wamr
The Lord said, “Because this people draws near with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which has been taught;

בכן הא אנא מוסיף לממחי ית עמא הדין מחן מפרשן ותיבד חוכמתא מחכימיהון וסכלתנתא מסכלתניהן תטמר:
thTmr msklthnyhn wsklthntha mkhkymyhwn khwkmtha wthybd mprshn mkhn hdyn ema yth lmmkhy mwsyp ana ha bkn
therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will be hidden.”

וי דמדמן לאטמרא עצא מן קדם יי והוו כדבקבלא עובדיהון ואמרין לית דחזי לנא ולית דידע בעובדנא:
bewbdna dyde wlyth lna dkhzy lyth wamryn ewbdyhwn kdbqbla whww yy qdm mn etsa laTmra dmdmn wy
Woe to those who deeply hide their counsel from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”

הלמהפך עובדיכון אתון בען הא כמא דטינא ביד פחרא כן אתון חשיבין קדמי האפשר דיימר טינא לעבדיה לא עבדתני ובריתא דתימר לברהא לא חכימתא לי:
ly khkymtha la lbrha dthymr wbrytha ebdthny la lebdyh Tyna dyymr hapshr qdmy khshybyn athwn kn pkhra byd dTyna kma ha ben athwn ewbdykwn hlmhpk
You turn things upside down! Should the potter be thought to be like clay, that the thing made should say about him who made it, “He didn’t make me;” or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

הלא עוד ציבחר כזעיר ויתוב לבנן למהוי ככרמלא וכרמלא קרוין סגיאין יתיב:
ythyb sgyayn qrwyn wkrmla kkrmla lmhwy lbnn wythwb kzeyr tsybkhr ewd hla
Isn’t it yet a very little while, and Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field will be regarded as a forest?

וישמעון בעדנא ההיא דכחרשין מלי ספר ומקביל ומחשוך עיני סמן יחזין:
ykhzyn smn eyny wmkhshwk wmqbyl spr mly dkkhrshyn hhya bedna wyshmewn
In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.

ויוספון מקבלי עולבן במימרא דיי חדוא וחשיכי בני אנשא במימר קדישא דישראל יבעון:
ybewn dyshral qdysha bmymr ansha bny wkhshyky khdwa dyy bmymra ewlbn mqbly wywspwn
The humble also will increase their joy in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20
ארי סף מעיקא ואשתיצי בזזא וספו כל דהוו משחרין למינס:
lmyns mshkhryn dhww kl wspw bzza washthytsy meyqa sp ary
For the ruthless is brought to nothing, and the scoffer ceases, and all those who are alert to do evil are cut off—
21
מחיבין בני אנשא במליהון ולדמוכח להון בית דינא בתרעא פתגמי אוריתא בען ליה תקלא ואסטיאו בשקר דין זכאין:
zkayn dyn bshqr wasTyaw thqla lyh ben awrytha pthgmy bthrea dyna byth lhwn wldmwkkh bmlyhwn ansha bny mkhybyn
who cause a person to be indicted by a word, and lay a snare for one who reproves in the gate, and who deprive the innocent of justice with false testimony.

בכן כדנן אמר יי על בית יעקב דפריק ית אברהם לא מכען יבהתון דבית יעקב ולא מכען אפיהון ישתנון:
yshthnwn apyhwn mken wla yeqb dbyth ybhthwn mken la abrhm yth dpryq yeqb byth el yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, says concerning the house of Jacob: “Jacob shall no longer be ashamed, neither shall his face grow pale.

ארי במחזוהי גבורן דאעביד לבנוהי טבות אברהם לזרעיה בתרוהי על ארעהון ביניהון יקדשון שמי ויימרון קדיש על קדישא דיעקב ועל אלהא דישראל יימרון תקיף:
thqyp yymrwn dyshral alha wel dyeqb qdysha el qdysh wyymrwn shmy yqdshwn bynyhwn arehwn el bthrwhy lzreyh abrhm Tbwth lbnwhy daebyd gbwrn bmkhzwhy ary
But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the middle of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
