ܘܝ ܠܟܠܝܠܐ ܓܐܝܐ ܕܪܘܝܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܠܓܕܠܐ ܡܨܥܪܐ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܗ ܕܒܪܝܫ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܫܡ̈ܝܢܐ ܕܬܘܝܪܝܢ ܒܚܡܪܐ
bkhmr' dthwyryn dshmyn' nkhl' dbrysh dshwbkhh khyl' mtser' wlgdl' 'prym drwy' g'y' lklyl' wy
Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley of those who are overcome with wine!

ܗܐ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܥܘܫܢܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܪܝܦܬܐ ܕܒܪܕܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܥܠܥܠܐ ܕܬܒܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܙܪܝܦܬܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܕܓܪܦܝܢ ܐܢܝܚ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܒܐܝܕܟ
b'ydk l're' 'nykh dgrpyn sgy'' dmy' zrypth' w'yk dthbr' elel' w'yk dbrd' zrypth' 'yk dmry' wewshn' khyl' h'
Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.

ܘܒܪܓܠܐ ܢܬܕܝܫ ܟܠܝܠܐ ܓܐܝܐ ܕܪܘܝܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ
'prym drwy' g'y' klyl' nthdysh wbrgl'
The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܓܕܠܐ ܡܨܥܪܐ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܗ ܕܒܪܝܫ ܢܚܠܐ ܕܫܡܝ̈ܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܒܟܪܬܐ ܕܩܕܡ ܩܝܛܐ ܕܡܐ ܕܚܙܗ̇ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܚ̇ܙܐ ܠܗ̇ ܥܕ ܗܝ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܒ̇ܠܥ ܠܗ̇
lh ble b'ydh hy ed lh dkhz' mn dkhzh dm' qyT' dqdm bkrth' 'yk dshmyn' nkhl' dbrysh dshwbkhh khyl' mtser' gdl' wnhw'
The fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fertile valley, shall be like the first-ripe fig before the summer, which someone picks and eats as soon as he sees it.

ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܠܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܘܠܓܕܠܐ ܡܫܒܚܐ ܠܫܪܟܐ ܕܥܡܗ
demh lshrk' mshbkh' wlgdl' dkhyl' lklyl' khylthn' mry' nhw' hw bywm'
In that day, Yahweh of Armies will become a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the residue of his people,

ܠܪܘܚܐ ܕܕܝܢܐ ܠܡ̇ܢ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ ܥܠ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܓܢܒܪܘܬܐ ܕܡܗܦܟܝܢ ܩܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܬܪܥܐ
thre' mn qrb' dmhpkyn wgnbrwth' dyn' el dythb lmn ddyn' lrwkh'
and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

ܘܐܦ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܚܡܪܐ ܛܥܘ ܘܒܫܟܪܐ ܛܥܘ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܢܒ̈ܝܐ ܛܥܘ ܒܫܟܪܐ ܐܬܒܠܥܘ ܡܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܙܥܘ ܡܢ ܫܟܪܐ ܛܥܘ ܒܪܘܝܘܬܐ ܐܟܠܘ ܐܣܘܛܐܝܬ
'swT'yth 'klw brwywth' Tew shkr' mn zew khmr' mn 'thblew bshkr' Tew wnby' khn' Tew wbshkr' Tew bkhmr' hlyn w'p
They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܦܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܐܬܡܠܝܘ ܬܝܘܒܐ ܘܬܒܬܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܐܬܪܐ
'thr' bly mn wthbth' thywb' 'thmlyw pthwr' dklhwn mTl
For all tables are completely full of filthy vomit and filthiness.

ܠܡ̇ܢ ܢܠܦ ܐܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܠܡ̇ܢ ܢܣܟܠ ܫܡܥܐ ܠܕܚܣܝܠܝܢ ܡܢ ܚܠܒܐ ܘܢܓܝܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܬ̈ܕܝܐ
thdy' mn wngydyn khlb' mn ldkhsylyn shme' nskl wlmn 'ydeth' nlp lmn
Whom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?

ܡܛܠ ܕܬܒܬܐ ܥܠ ܬܒܬܐ ܘܬܒܬܐ ܥܠ ܬܒܬܐ ܘܬܝܘܒܐ ܥܠ ܬܝܘܒܐ ܘܬܝܘܒܐ ܥܠ ܬܝܘܒܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܠܬܡܢ ܘܩܠܝܠ ܠܬܡܢ
lthmn wqlyl lthmn qlyl thywb' el wthywb' thywb' el wthywb' thbth' el wthbth' thbth' el dthbth' mTl
For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܡܡܠܠܐ ܥܛܠܐ ܘܒܠܫܢܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܐܡܠܠ ܥܡܗ ܥܡ ܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ

But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language,

ܕܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܢܝܚܬܝ ܐܢܝܚܘ ܠܡܛܪ̈ܦܐ ܘܗܢܘ ܫܠܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܨܒܘ ܠܡܫܡܥ
lmshme tsbw wl' shly' whnw lmTrp' 'nykhw nykhthy hy hd' lhwn d'mrth
to whom he said, “This is the resting place. Give rest to the weary,” and “This is the refreshing;” yet they would not hear.

ܘܗܘܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܬܒܬܐ ܥܠ ܬܒܬܐ ܘܬܒܬܐ ܥܠ ܬܒܬܐ ܘܬܝܘܒܐ ܥܠ ܬܝܘܒܐ ܘܬܝܘܒܐ ܥܠ ܬܝܘܒܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܠܬܡܢ ܘܩܠܝܠ ܠܬܡܢ ܕܢܗܦܟܘܢ ܘܢܣܬܚܦܘܢ ܠܒܣܬܪܗܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܒܪܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܨܝܕܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܚܕܘܢ
wnththkhdwn wnththtsydwn wnththbrwn lbsthrhwn wnsthkhpwn dnhpkwn lthmn wqlyl lthmn qlyl thywb' el wthywb' thywb' el wthywb' thbth' el wthbth' thbth' el thbth' dmry' mlthh lhwn whwth
Therefore Yahweh’s word will be to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, fall backward, be broken, be snared, and be taken.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܡܡܝ̈ܩܢܐ ܫ̈ܠܝܛܘܗܝ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܒܐܪܫܠܡ

Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, you scoffers, that rule this people in Jerusalem:

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܡܪܬܘܢ ܕܐܩܝܡܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܥܡ ܡܘܬܐ ܘܥܡ ܫܝܘܠ ܥܒܕܢ ܚܙܘܐ ܫܘܛܐ ܕܓܪܘܦܝܐ ܟܕ ܢܥܒܪ ܠܐ ܢܐܬܐ ܥܠܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܣܡܢ ܒܕܓܠܘܬܐ ܬܘܟܠܢܢ ܘܒܫܘܩܪܐ ܐܣܬܬܪܢ
'sththrn wbshwqr' thwklnn bdglwth' dsmn mTl elyn n'th' l' nebr kd dgrwpy' shwT' khzw' ebdn shywl wem mwth' em qym' d'qymn d'mrthwn mTl
“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and we are in agreement with Sheol. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it won’t come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood.’”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܬܩܢ ܐܢܐ ܒܨܗܝܘܢ ܟܐܦܐ ܟܐܦܐ ܒܚܝܪܬܐ ܒܙܘܝܬܐ ܝܩܝܪܬܐ ܪܝܫ ܐܣܬܐ ܕܫܬܐܣܬܐ ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܠܐ ܢܕܚܠ

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.

ܘܐܣܝܡ ܕܝܢܐ ܠܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܠܡܬܩܠܐ ܘܢܚܒܘܛ ܒܪܕܐ ܠܣܒܪܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܘܠܣܬܪܐ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܢܓܪܦܘܢ
ngrpwn my' wlsthr' dgl' lsbr' brd' wnkhbwT lmthql' wzdyqwth' lmshwkhth' dyn' w'sym
I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plumb line. The hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters will overflow the hiding place.

ܘܢܬܟܦܪ ܩܝܡܟܘܢ ܕܥܡ ܡܘܬܐ ܘܚܙܘܟܘܢ ܕܥܡ ܫܝܘܠ ܠܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܫܘܛܐ ܕܓܪܘܦܝܐ ܟܕ ܢܥܒܪ ܬܗܘܘܢ ܠܗ ܠܕܝܫܐ
ldysh' lh thhwwn nebr kd dgrwpy' shwT' nqwm l' shywl dem wkhzwkwn mwth' dem qymkwn wnthkpr
Your covenant with death shall be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol shall not stand. When the overflowing scourge passes through, then you will be trampled down by it.

ܘܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܪ ܢܕܒܪܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܨܦܪܐ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܢܥܒܪ ܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܒܠܠܝܐ ܗܘ̇ܝܐ ܙܘܥܬܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܣܬܟܠ ܫܡܘܥܐ
shmwe' 'sthkl blkhwd zweth' hwy' wblly' b'ymm' nebr btspr' dbtspr' mTl ndbrkwn debr wbzbn'
As often as it passes through, it will seize you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be nothing but terror to understand the message.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܪܝ ܡܐܢܐ ܠܡܣܬܪܗ ܘܡܫܬܝܬܐ ܩܛܢܬ ܘܠܐ ܡܡܠܝܐ
mmly' wl' qTnth wmshthyth' lmsthrh m'n' dkry mTl
For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap oneself in.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܛܘܪܐ ܒܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܢܩܘܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܓܒܥܘܢ ܢܪܓܙ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܝܢ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܠܡܥܒܕ ܥܒܝ̈ܕܬܗ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܢ ܥܒܝ̈ܕܬܗ
ebydthh nwkryn ebydthh wlmebd ebdwhy nwkryyn ebdwhy lmebd nrgz dgbewn ewmq' 'yk mry' nqwm bthwreth' dbTwr' mTl
For Yahweh will rise up as on Mount Perazim. He will be angry as in the valley of Gibeon; that he may do his work, his unusual work, and bring to pass his act, his extraordinary act.

ܘܗܫܐ ܠܐ ܬܡܝܩܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܫ̈ܢܢ ܡܪ̈ܕܘܬܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܓܡܘܪܝܐ ܘܦܣ̈ܝܩܬܐ ܫܡ̇ܥܬ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ
're' klh el khylthn' mry' mn shmeth wpsyqth' dgmwry' mTl mrdwthkwn neshnn dl' thmyqwn l' whsh'
Now therefore don’t be scoffers, lest your bonds be made strong; for I have heard a decree of destruction from the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, on the whole earth.

ܨܘܬܘ ܘܫܡܥܘ ܩܠܝ ܨܘܬܘ ܘܫܡܥܘ ܡܐܡܪܝ
m'mry wshmew tswthw qly wshmew tswthw
Give ear, and hear my voice! Listen, and hear my speech!

ܕܠܡܐ ܝܘܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܕܒ̇ܪ ܐܟܪܐ ܠܡܙܪܥ ܘܙܩ̇ܦ ܘܫ̇ܦܢ ܐܪܥܗ
'reh wshpn wzqp lmzre 'kr' dbr klh ywm' dlm'
Does he who plows to sow plow continually? Does he keep turning the soil and breaking the clods?

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܐ ܕܐܫܘܝ ܐ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܒ̇ܕܪ ܫܒܘܒܢܐ ܘܟܡܘܢܐ ܙ̇ܪܥ ܘܪܡ̇ܐ ܚ̈ܛܐ ܘܣܥܪ̈ܐ ܘܟܘܢ̈ܬܐ ܒܬ̈ܚܘܡܝܗ̇
bthkhwmyh wkwnth' wser' khT' wrm' zre wkmwn' shbwbn' bdr 'pyh d'shwy m' hw' l'
When he has leveled its surface, doesn’t he plant the dill, and scatter the cumin seed, and put in the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place?

ܢܪܕܝܘܗܝ ܒܕܝܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܢܫܒܚܘܢ
wnshbkhwn d'lh' bdyn' nrdywhy
For his God instructs him in right judgment and teaches him.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܕܪܫܐ ܡܬܕܪܟ ܫܒܘܒܢܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܡܬܟܪܟ ܓܪܓܪܐ ܥܠ ܟܡܘܢܐ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܒܚܘܛܪܐ ܡܬܚܒܛ ܫܒܘܒܢܐ ܘܟܡܘܢܐ ܒܙܩ̈ܬܐ
bzqth' wkmwn' shbwbn' mthkhbT dbkhwTr' mTwl kmwn' el grgr' mthkrk l' 'p shbwbn' mthdrk bdrsh' hw' dl' mTl
For the dill isn’t threshed with a sharp instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned over the cumin; but the dill is beaten out with a stick, and the cumin with a rod.

ܥܒܘܪܐ ܡܬܕܪܟ ܡܛܠܬܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܙܟܘ ܡܕܪܟܘ ܐܕܪܟܢܝܗܝ ܘܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܓܝ̈ܓܠܐ ܕܓܪ̈ܓܪܘܗܝ ܘܒܦܪ̈ܣܘܗܝ ܢܕܩܘܢܗ
ndqwnh wbprswhy dgrgrwhy dgygl' wbswg'' 'drknyhy mdrkw lzkw hw' dl' mTl mTlthn mthdrk ebwr'
Bread flour must be ground; so he will not always be threshing it. Although he drives the wheel of his threshing cart over it, his horses don’t grind it.
