ܗܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܚܒܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܬܪܥ ܠܗ̇ ܘܣܚ̇ܦ ܐ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܘܡܒܕܪ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇
emwryh wmbdr 'pyh wskhp lh wmthre 're' mkhbl mry' h'
Behold, Yahweh makes the earth empty, makes it waste, turns it upside down, and scatters its inhabitants.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܥܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܟܗܢܐ ܘܥܒܕܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܪܗ ܘܐܡܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܪܬܗ̇ ܩܢܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܙܒܢܢܐ ܘܝܙܘܦܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܘܙܦܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܪܐ ܚܘܒܬܗ ܕܚܝܒ ܠܗ
lh dkhyb khwbthh mr' 'yk mwzpn' 'yk wyzwp' mzbnn' 'yk qny' mrthh 'yk w'mth' mrh 'yk webd' khn' 'yk em' wnhw'
It will be as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest.

ܡܬܚܒܠܘ ܬܬܚܒܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܬܒܙܙܘ ܬܬܒܙܙ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܠ ܦܬܓܡܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' pthgm' mll dmry' mTl ththbzz wmthbzzw 're' ththkhbl mthkhblw
The earth will be utterly emptied and utterly laid waste; for Yahweh has spoken this word.

ܐܠܬ ܘܝܬܒܬ ܒܐܒܠܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܠܬ ܘܝܬܒܬ ܘܐܬܐܒܠܬ ܬܒܝܠ ܐܠܐ ܪܘܡܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' rwmh 'l' thbyl w'th'blth wythbth 'lth 're' b'bl' wythbth 'lth
The earth mourns and fades away. The world languishes and fades away. The lofty people of the earth languish.

ܘܐܪܥܐ ܐܬܕܡܝܬ ܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܪܘ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܘܚܠܦܘ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܘܒܛܠܘ ܩܝܡܐ ܕܥܠܡ
delm qym' wbTlw pwqdn' wkhlpw nmws' debrw mTl lemwryh 'thdmyth w're'
The earth also is polluted under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant.

ܡܛܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܬܬܒ ܒܐܒܠܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܬܚܝܒܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܬܚܪܒܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܫܬܚܪܘܢ ܐܢܫܐ ܩܠܝܠ
qlyl 'nsh' wnshthkhrwn d're' emwryh klhwn nthkhrbwn hn' mTl emwryh klhwn wnthkhybwn 're' b'bl' ththb hlyn mTl
Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.

ܝܬܒ ܒܐܒܠܐ ܥܒܘܪܐ ܘܐ̈ܠܝ ܓܘܦܢ̈ܐ ܘܐܬܬܢܚܘ ܟܠ ܚ̈ܕܝܝ ܠܒܐ
lb' khdyy kl w'ththnkhw gwpn' w'ly ebwr' b'bl' ythb
The new wine mourns. The vine languishes. All the merry-hearted sigh.

ܒܛܠܬ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܘ̈ܦܠܓܐ ܘܫܠܝ ܩܠܐ ܕܕܝܨܐ ܒܛܠܬ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܘܟܢܪ̈ܐ
wknr' khdwth' bTlth ddyts' ql' wshly wplg' khdwth' bTlth
The mirth of tambourines ceases. The sound of those who rejoice ends. The joy of the harp ceases.

ܒܙܡܪܐ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܘܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܢܡܪ ܫܟܪܐ ܠܫܬܝ̈ܘܗܝ
lshthywhy shkr' nmr khmr' nshthwn l' bzmr'
They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it.

ܐܬܒܙܬ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܐܬܬܚܕܘ ܟܠ ܒܝܬ ܡ̈ܕܢܐ
mdn' byth kl w'ththkhdw qryth' 'thbzth
The confused city is broken down. Every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

ܝܠܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܚܡܪܐ ܒܫ̈ܘܩܐ ܒܛܠܬ ܟܠܗ̇ ܚܕܘܬܐ ܘܥܒܪ ܕܝܨܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' dytsh webr khdwth' klh bTlth bshwq' khmr' el yllth'
There is a crying in the streets because of the wine. All joy is darkened. The mirth of the land is gone.

ܘܐܫܬܚܪ ܒܩܪܝܬܐ ܚܒܠܐ ܘܕܘܘܢܐ ܢܦܣܩ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇

The city is left in desolation, and the gate is struck with destruction.

ܗܟܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܒܝܢܬ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܒܛܐ ܕܙܝܬܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܒܘܥܪܐ ܡܐ ܕܓܡܪ ܩܛܦܐ
qTp' dgmr m' bwer' w'yk dzyth' khbT' 'yk emm' bynth d're' bgwh nhw' hkn'
For it will be so within the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

ܗܢܘܢ ܢܪܝܡܘܢ ܩܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܫܒܚܘܢ ܒܓܐܝܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܢܨܗܠܘܢ ܡܢ ܝܡܐ
ym' mn wntshlwn dmry' bg'ywthh wnshbkhwn qlhwn nrymwn hnwn
These shall lift up their voice. They will shout for the majesty of Yahweh. They cry aloud from the sea.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܫܒܚܘ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܓܙܪ̈ܬܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lh' dmry' shmh dym' wbgzrth' lmry' shbkhw bthshbwkhth' hn' mTl
Therefore glorify Yahweh in the east, even the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, in the islands of the sea!

ܡܢ ܟܢ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܙܡܝܪܬܐ ܫܡܥܢ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܙܕܝܩܐ ܕܐܡ̇ܪ ܪܐܙ ܠܝ ܪܐܙ ܠܝ ܐܘܝ ܠܝ ܥ̇ܘ̈ܠܐ ܐܥܠܝܘ ܥ̇ܘ̈ܠܐ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܐܥܠܝܘ
'elyw ewl' ewl' 'elyw ewl' ly 'wy ly r'z ly r'z d'mr dzdyq' khyl' shmen zmyrth' d're' knpyh mn
From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs. Glory to the righteous! But I said, “I pine away! I pine away! woe is me!” The treacherous have dealt treacherously. Yes, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

ܕܚܠܬܐ ܘܓܘܡܨܐ ܘܦܚܐ ܥܠܝܟ̈ ܥܡܘܪܐ̈ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' emwr' elyk wpkh' wgwmts' dkhlth'
Fear, the pit, and the snare are on you who inhabit the earth.

ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܢܥܪܘܩ ܡܢ ܩܠܐ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܢܦܠ ܒܓܘܡܨܐ ܘܡ̇ܢ ܕܢܣܩ ܡܢ ܓܘ ܓܘܡܨܐ ܢܬܬܚܕ ܒܦܚܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܣ̈ܘܟܐ ܡܢ ܡܪܘܡܐ ܐܬܦܬܚܘ ܘܙܥ ܫܬܐ̈ܣܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' shth'syh wze 'thpthkhw mrwm' mn dmswk' mTl bpkh' nththkhd gwmts' gw mn dnsq wmn bgwmts' npl ddkhlth' ql' mn dnerwq wmn
It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the middle of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

ܡܙܥ ܬܙܘܥ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܕܠ ܬܕܘܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܡܛ ܬܡܘܛ ܐܪܥܐ
're' thmwT wmmT 're' thdwl wmdl 're' thzwe mze
The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently.

ܘܡܙܥ ܬܙܘܥ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܝܟ ܪܘܝܐ ܘܬܢܘܕ ܐܝܟ ܥܪܙܠܐ ܘܢܥܫܢ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܥܘܠܗ̇ ܘܬܦܠ ܘܠܐ ܬܘܣܦ ܠܡܩܡ
lmqm thwsp wl' wthpl ewlh elyh wneshn erzl' 'yk wthnwd rwy' 'yk 're' thzwe wmze
The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.

ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܦܩܘܕ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܚܝ̈ܠܐ ܕܪܘܡܐ ܒܪܘܡܐ ܘܥܠ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ
b're' d're' mlk' wel brwm' drwm' khyl' el mry' npqwd hw bywm'
It will happen in that day that Yahweh will punish the army of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth on the earth.

ܘܢܟܢܫܘܢ ܟܢܘܫܝܐ ܥܠ ܐܣܝܪ ܓܘܒܐ ܘܢܬܚܫܒܘܢ ܥܠ ܚܒܝܫܐ ܘܠܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܝܘܡ̈ܬܐ ܢܬܦܪܩܘܢ
nthprqwn dywmth' wlswg'' khbysh' el wnthkhshbwn gwb' 'syr el knwshy' wnknshwn
They will be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and will be shut up in the prison; and after many days they will be visited.

ܘܢܚܦܪ ܣܗܪܐ ܘܢܒܗܬ ܫܡܫܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܡܠܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܨܗܝܘܢ ܘܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܩܕܡ ܩܕܝܫ̈ܘܗܝ ܢܫܬܒܚ
nshthbkh qdyshwhy wqdm wb'wrshlm dtshywn bTwr' khylthn' mry' d'mlk mTl shmsh' wnbhth shr' wnkhpr
Then the moon will be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem; and glory will be before his elders.
