ܡܫܩܠܐ ܕܡܕܒܪܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܥܠܥܠܐ ܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ ܬܪܗܛ ܡܢ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܬܐܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܪܚܝܩܬܐ
rkhyqth' 're' mn wth'th' mdbr' mn thrhT thymn' mn elel' 'yk dym' dmdbr' mshql'
The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweep through, it comes from the wilderness, from an awesome land.

ܚܙܘܐ ܩܫܝܐ ܐܬܚܙܝ ܠܢ ܛܠܘܡܐ ܛ̇ܠܡ ܘܒܙܘܙܐ ܒܐ̇ܙ ܣܩܝ ܥܝܠ̈ܡ ܘܛܘܪ̈ܝ ܡܕܝ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܬܢܚ̈ܬܗ̇ ܒܛܠܬ

A grievous vision is declared to me. The treacherous man deals treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Go up, Elam; attack! I have stopped all of Media’s sighing.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܬܡܠܝ ܚܨܝ ܙܘܥܬܐ ܘܐܚܕܘܢܝ ܨܘܪ̈ܢܐ ܐܝܟ ܨܘܪ̈ܢܐ ܕܝܠܕܬܐ. ܙܥ̇ܬ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܡܥ. ܘܐܬܕܠܚ̇ܬ ܕܠܐ ܐܚܙܐ

Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I am so dismayed that I can’t see.

ܛܥܐ ܠܒܝ ܘܨܘܪ̈ܢܐ ܐܙܝܥܘܢܝ ܘܫܘܦܪ̈ܐ ܕܨܒܝܢܝ ܣܡܘ ܠܝ ܠܣܘܪܕܐ

My heart flutters. Horror has frightened me. The twilight that I desired has been turned into trembling for me.

ܛܝܒܘ ܦܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܘܩܘ ܕܘܩ̈ܐ ܐܟܘܠܘ ܘܐܫܬܘ ܩܘܡܘ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ̈ ܡܫܘܚܘ ܣܟܪ̈ܐ
skr' mshwkhw rwrbn' qwmw w'shthw 'kwlw dwq' dwqw pthwr' Tybw
They prepare the table. They set the watch. They eat. They drink. Rise up, you princes, oil the shield!

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ. ܙܠ ܐܩܝܡ ܕܘܩܐ ܕܡܕܡ ܕܚ̇ܙܐ ܢܚܘܐ
nkhw' dkhz' dmdm dwq' 'qym zl mry' ly 'mr dhkn' mTl
For the Lord said to me, “Go, set a watchman. Let him declare what he sees.

ܘܚܙܐ ܪܟܘܒܐ ܕܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܦܪ̈ܫܝܢ ܕܪܟܝܒ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܕܪܟܝܒ ܓܡܠܐ ܘܨܬ ܫܡܥܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ
sgy'' shme' wtsth gml' wdrkyb khmr' drkyb prshyn dthryn rkwb' wkhz'
When he sees a troop, horsemen in pairs, a troop of donkeys, a troop of camels, he shall listen diligently with great attentiveness.”

ܘܩܪܐ ܕܘܩܐ ܒܐ̈ܕܢܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܐܢܐ ܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܘܥܠ ܡܛܪܬܝ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܐܢܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܠܝ̈ܠܘܬܐ
lylwth' klhwn 'n' q'm mTrthy wel b'ymm' 'myn'yth 'n' q'm mry' 'n' w'mr b'dny dwq' wqr'
He cried like a lion: “Lord, I stand continually on the watchtower in the daytime, and every night I stay at my post.

ܘܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܪ̈ܟܒܐ ܕܦܪ̈ܫܐ ܘܥܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܢܦܠܬ ܢܦܠܬ ܒܒܠ ܘܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܐ̈ܠܗܝܗ̇ ܓܠܝ̈ܦܐ ܐܬܬܒܪܘ ܒܐܪܥܐ

Behold, here comes a troop of men, horsemen in pairs.” He answered, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the engraved images of her gods are broken to the ground.

ܡܢ ܚܨܕ ܘܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܐܕܪ ܡܕܡ ܕܫܡ̇ܥܬ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܚܘܝ̇ܬܟܘܢ
khwythkwn d'ysryl 'lh' mry' mn dshmeth mdm 'dr bly wmn khtsd mn
You are my threshing, and the grain of my floor!” That which I have heard from Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, I have declared to you.

ܡܫܩܠܐ ܕܕܘܡܐ ܠܝ ܩܪܐ ܡܢ ܣܥܝܪ ܢܛܘܪܐ ܕܒܠܠܝܐ

The burden of Dumah. One calls to me out of Seir, “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”

ܐܡܪ ܢܛܘܪܐ ܐܬܐ ܨܦܪܐ ܐܦ ܠܠܝܐ ܐܢ ܒܥ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܥܘ ܬܘܒ ܐܬ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn 'thyn thwb bew 'nthwn beyn 'n lly' 'p tspr' 'th' nTwr' 'mr
The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire. Come back again.”

ܡܫܩܠܐ ܕܥܪܒ ܒܪܡܫܐ ܒܥܒܐ ܬܒܘܬܘܢ ܒܫܒܝܠܐ ܕܕܘܪܢܝܡ
ddwrnym bshbyl' thbwthwn beb' brmsh' derb mshql'
The burden on Arabia. You will lodge in the thickets in Arabia, you caravans of Dedanites.

ܠܐܘܪܥ ܨܗ̈ܝܐ ܐܝܬܘ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܬܝܡܢܐ ܒܠܚܡܟܘܢ ܐܪܘܥܘ ܠܡܒܕܪ̈ܐ
lmbdr' 'rwew blkhmkwn dthymn' d're' emwr' my' 'ythw tshy' l'wre
They brought water to him who was thirsty. The inhabitants of the land of Tema met the fugitives with their bread.

ܡܛܠ ܕܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܣܦܣܪܐ ܐܬܒܕܪܘ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܚܪܒܐ ܕܠܛܝܫܐ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܩܫܬܐ ܕܡܠܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܥܘܫܢܐ ܕܩܪܒܐ
dqrb' ewshn' qdm wmn dmly' qshth' qdm wmn dlTysh' khrb' qdm wmn 'thbdrw spsr' qdm dmn mTl
For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow, and from the heat of battle.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܒܡܫܠܡ ܫܢܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܫ̈ܢܝܐ ܕܐܓܝܪܐ ܢܣܘܦ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܩܕܪ
dqdr 'yqr' klh nswp d'gyr' shny' 'yk shnth' bmshlm mry' ly 'mr dhkn' mTl
For the Lord said to me, “Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail,

ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܡܢܝܢܐ ܕܩܫ̈ܬܐ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܒ̈ܢܝ ܩܕܪ ܢܙܥܪܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܠܠ
mll d'ysryl 'lh' dmry' mTl nzerwn qdr dbny gbr' dqshth' dmnyn' wshrk'
and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, will be few; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, has spoken it.”
