ܡܫܩܠܐ ܕܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܗܐ ܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܡܥܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܘܬܗܘܐ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܘܠܡܦܘܠܬܐ

The burden of Damascus. “Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.

ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܫܒܝ̈ܩܬܐ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܥܕܘܥܝܪ ܘܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܠܓܙܪ̈ܐ ܕܢܪܒܥܘܢ ܒܗܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܗܪܢܐ
mhrn' lhwn nhw' wl' bhyn dnrbewn lgzr' wnhwyn dedweyr qwry' shbyqth' wnhwyn
The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which shall lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.

ܘܢܬܒܛܠ ܥܘܫܢܐ ܡܢ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܟ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ

The fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria. They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,” says Yahweh of Armies.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܬܡܣܟܢ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܝܥܩܘܒ ܘܫܘܡܢܐ ܕܒܣܪܗ ܢܬܪܙܐ

“It will happen in that day that the glory of Jacob will be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܟܢ̇ܫ ܚܨܕܐ ܕܩܝܡܬܐ ܘܕܪܥܗ ܫܒ̈ܠܐ ܚܨ̇ܕ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܗ̇ܘ ܕܡܠܩܛ ܫܒ̈ܠܐ ܒܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܪܦܐܝܡ

It will be like when the harvester gathers the wheat, and his arm reaps the grain. Yes, it will be like when one gleans grain in the valley of Rephaim.

ܘܢܫܬܚܪ ܒܗ ܒܘܥܪܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܝܬܐ ܕܚܒܝܛ ܘܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܬܠܬܐ ܙܝ̈ܬܝܢ ܒܪܝܫ ܟܢܐ ܒܣ̈ܘܟܘܗܝ ܘܐܪ̈ܒܥܐ ܘܚܡܫܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lh' mry' 'mr wkhmsh' w'rbe' bswkwhy kn' brysh zythyn thlth' wthryn dkhbyT zyth' 'yk bwer' bh wnshthkhr
Yet gleanings will be left there, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outermost branches of a fruitful tree,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel.

ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܬܬܟܠ ܐܢܫ ܥܠ ܥܒܘܕܗ ܘܥܝ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܢܚܘܪ̈ܢ ܠܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl lqdysh' nkhwrn weynwhy ebwdh el 'nsh nththkl hw bywm' bh
In that day, people will look to their Maker, and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.

ܘܠܐ ܢܬܬܟܠ ܥܠ ܡܕܒ̈ܚܐ ܕܥܒܕ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܘܥܒܕ ܨܒ̈ܥܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܚܘܪ ܒܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܘܒܕܚ̈ܠܬܐ
wbdkhlth' bpthkr' nkhwr wl' tsbethh webd 'ydwhy debd mdbkh' el nththkl wl'
They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherah poles or the incense altars.

ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܥܘܫܢܗ ܐܝܟ ܓܘܒܐ ܕܚܪܫ ܘܕܐܡܝܪ ܕܐܫܬܒܩ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܗܘܝܬܝ ܠܚܒܠܐ
lkhbl' whwythy 'ysryl bny qdm mn d'shthbq wd'myr dkhrsh gwb' 'yk dewshnh qwry' nhwyn hw bywm' bh
In that day, their strong cities will be like the forsaken places in the woods and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it will be a desolation.

ܘܛܥܝܬܝ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܦܪܘܩܟܝ ܘܠܬܩܝܦܐ ܡܥܫܢܢܟܝ ܠܐ ܐܬܕܟܪܬܝ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܬܨܒܝܢ ܢܨܒܬܐ ܝܐܝܬܐ ܒܫ̈ܒܘܩܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܬܙܪܥܝܢܗ̇
thzreynh nwkry' bshbwq' y'yth' ntsbth' thtsbyn hn' mTl 'thdkrthy l' meshnnky wlthqyp' prwqky l'lh' wTeythy
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the rock of your strength. Therefore you plant pleasant plants, and set out foreign seedlings.

ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܬܨܒܝܢܗ̇ ܢܦܘܩ ܣܡܕܪܐ ܘܒܨܦܪܐ ܙܪܥܟܝ ܬܦܪܥܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܢܝܪܐ ܕܩܛܦܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܟܪܝܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܟܐܒܐ ܕܐܢܫܐ
d'nsh' k'b' w'yk kry' bywm' dqTp' nyr' 'yk thpreyn zreky wbtspr' smdr' npwq dthtsbynh bywm'
In the day of your planting, you hedge it in. In the morning, you make your seed blossom, but the harvest flees away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.

ܘܝ ܠܚܝܠܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܕܐ̇ܙܠ ܩܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܩܠܐ ܕܝܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܪܓܘܫܝܐ ܕܐ̈ܡܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܩܠܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ
sgy'' dmy' ql' 'yk d'mwth' wrgwshy' dymm' ql' 'yk qlhwn d'zl sgy'' demm' lkhyl' wy
Ah, the uproar of many peoples who roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!

ܢܓܥܘܪ ܒܗ ܘܢܥܪܘܩ ܠܪܘܚܩܐ ܘܢܪܗܛ ܐܝܟ ܕܚܝܚܐ ܕܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܩܕܡ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܓܠܐ ܩܕܡ ܥܠܥܠܐ
elel' qdm gl' w'yk rwkh' qdm dTwr' dkhykh' 'yk wnrhT lrwkhq' wnerwq bh ngewr
The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far off, and will be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.

ܒܙܒܢܐ ܕܪܡܫܐ ܘܗܐ ܚܘܛܦܐ ܥܕܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܨܦܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܬܚܪ ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܦܠܓܘܬܐ ܕܕܝܘܫܢ ܘܡܢܬܐ ܕܒܙܘܙܢ

At evening, behold, terror! Before the morning, they are no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.
