מטל כס דלוט לאשקאה ית דמשק הא דמשק מתעדיא ממלכו ותהי לכרך מחמרא:
mkhmra lkrk wthhy mmlkw mthedya dmshq ha dmshq yth lashqah dlwT ks mTl
The burden of Damascus. “Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap.

שביקן קרויהון חרבו לבית משרי עדרין דען יהון וישרון ולית דמניד:
dmnyd wlyth wyshrwn yhwn den edryn mshry lbyth khrbw qrwyhwn shbyqn
The cities of Aroer are forsaken. They will be for flocks, which shall lie down, and no one shall make them afraid.

ויבטיל שולטן מאפרים ומלכו מדמשק ושאר יחידאין מארם ויקרהון כיקר בני ישראל יהון אמר יי צבאות:
tsbawth yy amr yhwn yshral bny kyqr wyqrhwn marm ykhydayn wshar mdmshq wmlkw maprym shwlTn wybTyl
The fortress shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria. They will be as the glory of the children of Israel,” says Yahweh of Armies.

ויהי בעדנא ההיא ימאך יקר יעקב ועותר יקריה יגלי:
ygly yqryh wewthr yeqb yqr ymak hhya bedna wyhy
“It will happen in that day that the glory of Jacob will be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.

ויהי כמכנש חצד קמה ודרעיה שובלין יחצוד ויהי כמלקט שובלין במישר גבריא:
gbrya bmyshr shwblyn kmlqT wyhy ykhtswd shwblyn wdreyh qmh khtsd kmknsh wyhy
It will be like when the harvester gathers the wheat, and his arm reaps the grain. Yes, it will be like when one gleans grain in the valley of Rephaim.

וישתארון ביה עוללין כביעור זיתא תרין תלתא גרגרין בריש ענפא ארבעא חמשא בסוכא מרדא כן ישתארון יחידאין צדיקיא בגו עלמא בני מלכותא אמר יי אלהא דישראל:
dyshral alha yy amr mlkwtha bny elma bgw tsdyqya ykhydayn yshtharwn kn mrda bswka khmsha arbea enpa brysh grgryn thltha thryn zytha kbyewr ewllyn byh wyshtharwn
Yet gleanings will be left there, like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three olives in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outermost branches of a fruitful tree,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel.

בעדנא ההיא יסתמיך אנשא לפולחן עבדיה ועינוהי למימר קדישא דישראל יסברון:
ysbrwn dyshral qdysha lmymr weynwhy ebdyh lpwlkhn ansha ysthmyk hhya bedna
In that day, people will look to their Maker, and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.

ולא יסתמיך על אגוריא עובד ידוהי ודאתקנא אצבעתיה לא יתקיים ואשריא וחניסנסיא:
wkhnysnsya washrya ythqyym la atsbethyh wdathqna ydwhy ewbd agwrya el ysthmyk wla
They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherah poles or the incense altars.

בעדנא ההיא יהוין קרוי תוקפיהון ככרך דחריב ואתחמר די אשתביק מן קדם בני ישראל ותהי לצדו:
ltsdw wthhy yshral bny qdm mn ashthbyq dy wathkhmr dkhryb kkrk thwqpyhwn qrwy yhwyn hhya bedna
In that day, their strong cities will be like the forsaken places in the woods and on the mountain top, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel; and it will be a desolation.

ארי שבקת אלהא דפורקניך ודחלת תקיפא די מימריה בסעדך לא אדכרת בדיל דאת נציבא נצבא בחירא ועובדין מקלקלין אסגית:
asgyth mqlqlyn wewbdyn bkhyra ntsba ntsyba dath bdyl adkrth la bsedk mymryh dy thqypa wdkhlth dpwrqnyk alha shbqth ary
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the rock of your strength. Therefore you plant pleasant plants, and set out foreign seedlings.

באתר דאתקדשתון למהוי עם תמן קלקלתון עובדיכון ואף כד עלתון לארע בית שכנתי תמן הוה חזי לכון למפלח שבקתון פולחני ופלחתון לטעותא ארחיקתון תיובתא עד דמטא יום תברכון בכן הוה כיבכון למפחת נפש:
npsh lmpkhth kybkwn hwh bkn thbrkwn ywm dmTa ed thywbtha arkhyqthwn lTewtha wplkhthwn pwlkhny shbqthwn lmplkh lkwn khzy hwh thmn shknthy byth lare elthwn kd wap ewbdykwn qlqlthwn thmn em lmhwy dathqdshthwn bathr
In the day of your planting, you hedge it in. In the morning, you make your seed blossom, but the harvest flees away in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.

וי המון עממין סגיאין די כמהמי ימא המן ואתרגושת מלכון דכאתרגושת מיין תקיפין מתרגשין:
mthrgshyn thqypyn myyn dkathrgwshth mlkwn wathrgwshth hmn yma kmhmy dy sgyayn emmyn hmwn wy
Ah, the uproar of many peoples who roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!

מלכון דכאתרגושת מיין סגיאין מתרגשין ויזוף ביה ויערוק מרחיק ויתרדף כמוץ טוריא קדם רוחא וכגלגלא קדם עלעולא:
elewla qdm wkglgla rwkha qdm Twrya kmwts wythrdp mrkhyq wyerwq byh wyzwp mthrgshyn sgyayn myyn dkathrgwshth mlkwn
The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters, but he will rebuke them, and they will flee far off, and will be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.

לעדן רמשא והא כדלא הוה עד דלא צפרא והא כדליתוהי דין חולק לאסננא ועדב לבזזנא:
lbzzna wedb lasnna khwlq dyn kdlythwhy wha tspra dla ed hwh kdla wha rmsha ledn
At evening, behold, terror! Before the morning, they are no more. This is the portion of those who plunder us, and the lot of those who rob us.
