לא תחדון דבית ישראל ולא תבועון כנמוסי עממיא ארי טעותון מבתר פולחנא דאלהכון רחימתון למפלח לטעותא על כל אידרי עבורא:
ebwra aydry kl el lTewtha lmplkh rkhymthwn dalhkwn pwlkhna mbthr Tewthwn ary emmya knmwsy thbwewn wla yshral dbyth thkhdwn la
Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.

מאידרא וממעצרתא לא יתזונון וחמרא לא יסופיק להון:
lhwn yswpyq la wkhmra ythzwnwn la wmmetsrtha maydra
The threshing floor and the wine press won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her.

לא יתובון בארע שכנתא דיי ויתובון דבית אפרים למצרים לאתור יגלון מסאב ייכלון:
yyklwn msab yglwn lathwr lmtsrym aprym dbyth wythwbwn dyy shkntha bare ythwbwn la
They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.

לא ינסכון קדם יי נסכין דחמר ולא יתקבלון לרעוא קורבניהון דיבחיהון כלחם מרחק להון כל דייכליניה יסתאב ארי קורבניהון על נפשיהון לא מכפר להון בבית מקדשא דיי:
dyy mqdsha bbyth lhwn mkpr la npshyhwn el qwrbnyhwn ary ysthab dyyklynyh kl lhwn mrkhq klkhm dybkhyhwn qwrbnyhwn lrewa ythqblwn wla dkhmr nskyn yy qdm ynskwn la
They won’t pour out wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into Yahweh’s house.

מה תעבדון ליום מועדא וליום חגא דיי:
dyy khga wlywm mweda lywm thebdwn mh
What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Yahweh?

ארי הא יגלון מן קדם בזוזין למצרים יתכנשון למפיס יתקברון בית חמדת כספהון קרסולין ישרון בהון חתולין בברניתהון:
bbrnythhwn khthwlyn bhwn yshrwn qrswlyn ksphwn khmdth byth ythqbrwn lmpys ythknshwn lmtsrym bzwzyn qdm mn yglwn ha ary
For, behold, when they flee destruction, Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.

אתו יומי סעורנא אתו יומי תושלמת חובין ידעון דבית ישראל דהוו מתנבן להון נביי קושטא ומשעממין להון נביי שקרא על דאסגיאו חובך ותקיפו חטאך:
khTak wthqypw khwbk dasgyaw el shqra nbyy lhwn wmshemmyn qwshTa nbyy lhwn mthnbn dhww yshral dbyth ydewn khwbyn thwshlmth ywmy athw sewrna ywmy athw
The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.

מסכן בית ישראל די יתקים להון פולחן טעותא לגבייהון קולין צלן על כל אורחתהון מסגן תקלא בבית מקדשא דאלההון:
dalhhwn mqdsha bbyth thqla msgn awrkhthhwn kl el tsln qwlyn lgbyyhwn Tewtha pwlkhn lhwn ythqym dy yshral byth mskn
A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

אסגיאו לחבלא כיומי גבעתא יסער חוביהון ויתפרע עויתהון:
ewythhwn wythpre khwbyhwn yser gbetha kywmy lkhbla asgyaw
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.

כגופין דשתיל על עינא דמיא כן במדברא ארע מימרי לישראל כבכורה בתינתא די באול מאבבא חביבית אבהתכון ואינון אתחברו לבעל פעור וטעו לבהתא והוו שקוצין כדרחימו:
kdrkhymw shqwtsyn whww lbhtha wTew pewr lbel athkhbrw waynwn abhthkwn khbybyth mabba bawl dy bthyntha kbkwrh lyshral mymry are bmdbra kn dmya eyna el dshthyl kgwpyn
I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.

בית ישראל כעופא דאפרחוהי מקניה ואיטלטל כן גלא ית יקרהון ולד לא יסגון ומפרי מעיהון לא יחדון ועל דאתמנעו רגליהון מלאתחזאה בבית מקדשי:
mqdshy bbyth mlathkhzah rglyhwn dathmnew wel ykhdwn la meyhwn wmpry ysgwn la wld yqrhwn yth gla kn wayTlTl mqnyh daprkhwhy kewpa yshral byth
As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no one with child, and no conception.

ארי אם ירבון ית בניהון ואתכלינון מלמהוי גברין ארי וי להון בסלקותי שכנתי מנהון:
mnhwn shknthy bslqwthy lhwn wy ary gbryn mlmhwy wathklynwn bnyhwn yth yrbwn am ary
Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them!

כנשתא דישראל במעברה אורייתא דמיא לצור באצלחותא בשלויתה חבו דבית אפרים לקטלא לפולחן טעותא בניהון:
bnyhwn Tewtha lpwlkhn lqTla aprym dbyth khbw bshlwythh batslkhwtha ltswr dmya awryytha bmebrh dyshral knshtha
I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.

הב להון יי ית תושלמת עובדיהון הב להון רחם מתכיל ושדין יבשין:
ybshyn wshdyn mthkyl rkhm lhwn hb ewbdyhwn thwshlmth yth yy lhwn hb
Give them—Yahweh what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

כל בישתהון גלין קדמי בגלגלא ארי תמן רחיקתינון על בישות עובדיהון מבית מקדשי אתריכינון לא אוסיף לרחמא עליהון ודכל רברביהון מרדין:
mrdyn rbrbyhwn wdkl elyhwn lrkhma awsyp la athrykynwn mqdshy mbyth ewbdyhwn byshwth el rkhyqthynwn thmn ary bglgla qdmy glyn byshthhwn kl
“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds, I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.

בית ישראל דמן לאילנא דקלא שרשוהי מלרע ויבש נופיה מלעלא נוב לא יעביד אף אם ירבון בנין ואקטול שפר מעיהון:
meyhwn shpr waqTwl bnyn yrbwn am ap yebyd la nwb mlela nwpyh wybsh mlre shrshwhy dqla laylna dmn yshral byth
Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”
