ܠܐ ܬܚܕܐ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܘܨ ܐܝܟ ܥܡܡܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܛܥܝܬ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܟ ܘܪܚܡܬ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܘܠ ܐܕܪܐ
'dr' kwl mn mwhbth' wrkhmth 'lhk mn dTeyth mTl emm' 'yk thdwts wl' 'ysryl thkhd' l'
Don’t rejoice, Israel, to jubilation like the nations; for you were unfaithful to your God. You love the wages of a prostitute at every grain threshing floor.

ܘܡܢ ܐܕܪܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܥܨܪܬܐ ܠܐ ܢܣܒܥܘܢ ܘܡܫܚܐ ܢܟܕܒ ܒܗܘܢ
bhwn nkdb wmshkh' nsbewn l' metsrth' wmn 'dr' wmn
The threshing floor and the wine press won’t feed them, and the new wine will fail her.

ܠܐ ܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܐ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܒܐܬܘܪ ܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܢܐܟܠܘܢ
n'klwn Tnpwth' wb'thwr lmtsryn 'prym nhpwk 'l' dmry' b'reh nthbwn l'
They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.

ܠܐ ܢܢܩܘܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܚܡܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܒܣܡܘܢ ܠܗ ܕܒܚܝܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܠܚܡܐ ܗܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܟܠ ܐܟܘܠܘܗܝ ܢܬܛܢܦܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܚܡܐ ܕܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܥܐܠ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' lbythh e'l l' dnpshhwn dlkhm' mTl nthTnpwn 'kwlwhy kl d'wltsn' lhwn hw lkhm' 'yk dbkhyhwn lh nbsmwn wl' khmr' lmry' nnqwn l'
They won’t pour out wine offerings to Yahweh, neither will they be pleasing to him. Their sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners; all who eat of it will be polluted; for their bread will be for their appetite. It will not come into Yahweh’s house.

ܡܢܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܥܐܕܐ ܘܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܥܕܥܐܕܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ
dmry' dede'dh wlywm' de'd' lywm' thebdwn mn'
What will you do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Yahweh?

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܢܘܢ ܐܙܠܘ ܒܒܙܬܐ ܘܡܨܪܝܢ ܬܟܢܫ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܡܦܣ ܬܩܒܘܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܪܓܬܐ ܕܣܐܡܗܘܢ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܢܐܪܬܘܢܗ ܘܟܘܒܐ ܒܡܫܟܢܝܗܘܢ
bmshknyhwn wkwb' n'rthwnh nwkry' ds'mhwn rgth' 'nwn thqbwr wmps 'nwn thknsh wmtsryn bbzth' 'zlw dhnwn mTl
For, behold, when they flee destruction, Egypt will gather them up. Memphis will bury them. Nettles will possess their pleasant things of silver. Thorns will be in their tents.

ܡܛܝܘ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܬܒܥܬܐ ܩܪܒܘ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܢܕܥ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܣܟܠܐ ܢܒܝܐ ܫܛܝܐ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܠܒܝܫܐ ܒܗ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܫܛܝܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥܘܠܟ ܐܬܝܬܪܬ ܫܪܝܚܘܬܟ

The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.

ܕܘܩܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܥܡ ܐܠܗܝ ܢܒܝܐ ܦܚܐ ܕܬܘܩܠܬܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪܚܬܗ ܘܫܪܝܚܘܬܐ ܒܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ
d'lh' bbythh wshrykhwth' 'wrkhthh klhyn el dthwqlth' pkh' nby' 'lhy em 'prym dwq'
A prophet watches over Ephraim with my God. A fowler’s snare is on all of his paths, and hostility in the house of his God.

ܥܡܩܘ ܘܚܒܠܘ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܪܡܬܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܢܬܕܟܪ ܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܦܩܘܕ ܚܛܗܝܗܘܢ
khThyhwn wnpqwd ewlhwn nthdkr mkyl drmth' ywmth' 'yk wkhblw emqw
They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity. He will punish them for their sins.

ܐܝܟ ܥܢܒܐ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܐܫܟܚܬ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܝܟ ܬܬܐ ܒܟܪܬܐ ܚܙܝܬ ܠܐܒܗܝܗܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܥܠܘ ܠܘܬ ܒܥܠ ܦܥܘܪ ܘܐܬܢܙܪܘ ܠܒܗܬܬܐ ܘܗܘܘ ܠܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܪܚܡܘ

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season; but they came to Baal Peor, and consecrated themselves to the shameful thing, and became abominable like that which they loved.

ܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܟ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܦܪܚ ܐܝܩܪܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܝܠܕܐ ܘܡܢ ܟܪܣܐ ܘܡܢ ܒܛܢܐ
bTn' wmn krs' wmn yld' mn 'yqrhwn prkh prkhth' 'yk 'prym
As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird. There will be no birth, no one with child, and no conception.

ܐܦܢ ܢܪܒܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܐܓܝܙ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܢܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܘܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܬܦܪܥ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ
mnhwn 'n' mthpre lhwn dwy mTwl 'nsh' bny mn 'nwn 'gyz bny' nrbwn 'pn
Though they bring up their children, yet I will bereave them, so that not a man shall be left. Indeed, woe also to them when I depart from them!

ܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܟ ܕܚܙܝܬ ܠܨܘܪ ܕܫܬܝܠܐ ܒܒܢܝܢܝܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܢܦܩ ܒܢܘܗܝ ܠܩܛܠܐ
lqTl' bnwhy npq 'prym hkn' bbnynyh dshthyl' ltswr dkhzyth 'yk 'prym
I have seen Ephraim, like Tyre, planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim will bring out his children to the murderer.

ܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܕܡ ܕܝܗܒ ܐܢܬ ܗܒ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܪܒܥܐ ܡܓܙܝܐ ܘܬܕܝܐ ܝܒܝܫܐ
ybysh' wthdy' mgzy' mrbe' lhwn hb 'nth dyhb mdm mry' lhwn hb
Give them—Yahweh what will you give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

ܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܗܘܢ ܒܓܠܓܠܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܡܢ ܣܢܝܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܒܝܫܘܬܐ ܕܨܢܥܬܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܝܬܝ ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܘܣܦ ܠܡܪܚܡܘ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܝܛܢܝܗܘܢ ܡܪܘܕܝܢ
mrwdyn shlyTnyhwn klhwn elyhwn lmrkhmw 'wsp wl' 'nwn 'pq bythy mn dtsnethhwn bbyshwth' 'nwn snyth dthmn mTl bglgl' byshthhwn klhyn
“All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds, I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.

ܡܚܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܥܩܪܐ ܘܝܒܫ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܠ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܢ ܢܘܠܕܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܐܡܝܬ ܪܓܬܐ ܕܡܥܝܗܘܢ
dmeyhwn rgth' 'myth bny' nwldwn w'n p'r' nthl dl' wybsh eqr' 'prym mkh'
Ephraim is struck. Their root has dried up. They will bear no fruit. Even though they give birth, yet I will kill the beloved ones of their womb.”

ܘܢܣܠܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܠܗܝ ܥܠ ܕܠܐ ܫܡܥܘܗܝ ܘܢܗܘܘܢ ܛܥܝܢ ܒܝܬ ܥܡܡܐ

My God will cast them away, because they didn’t listen to him; and they will be wanderers among the nations.
