ܡܐ ܕܐܣܝܬ ܠܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܐܬܓܠܝ ܥܘܠܗ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܒܝܫܬܗ ܕܫܡܪܝܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܫܘܩܪܐ ܩܕܡܝ ܘܓܢܒܐ ܥܐܠ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܫܠܚ ܓܝܣܐ ܒܫܘܩܐ
bshwq' gys' wmshlkh hw' e'l wgnb' qdmy shwqr' debdw mTl dshmryn wbyshthh d'prym ewlh w'thgly l'ysryl d'syth m'
When I would heal Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim is uncovered, also the wickedness of Samaria; for they commit falsehood, and the thief enters in, and the gang of robbers ravages outside.

ܘܠܐ ܐܡܪܝܢ ܒܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܗܘܢ ܥܗܕ ܐܢܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܢܚܕܪܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܨܢܥܬܗܘܢ ܕܗܘܝ ܩܕܡ ܐܦܝ
'py qdm dhwy tsnethhwn 'nwn nkhdrn mkyl 'n' ehd byshthhwn dklhyn blbhwn 'mryn wl'
They don’t consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.

ܒܒܝܫܘܬܗܘܢ ܚܕܝܘ ܠܡܠܟܐ ܘܒܕܓܠܘܬܗܘܢ
wbdglwthhwn lmlk' khdyw bbyshwthhwn
They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܠܝܛܢܝܗܘܢ ܓܝܪܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܬܢܘܪܐ ܕܝܩܕ ܠܡܐܦܝܬܐ ܢܒܛܠ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܠܐܫ ܠܝܫܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܚܡܥ
dkhme edm' lysh' l'sh mdynth' mn nbTl lm'pyth' dyqd thnwr' 'yk gyryn shlyTnyhwn klhwn
They are all adulterers. They are burning like an oven that the baker stops stirring, from the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.

ܝܘܡܐ ܕܡܠܟܝܢ ܫܪܝܘ ܪܘܪܒܢܐ ܠܡܪܓܙ ܡܢ ܚܡܪܐ ܢܓܕܘ ܐܝܕܝܗܘܢ ܥܡ ܒܝܫܐ
bysh' em 'ydyhwn ngdw khmr' mn lmrgz rwrbn' shryw dmlkyn ywm'
On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܡ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܬܢܘܪܐ ܒܟܡܐܢܗܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܠܠܝܐ ܥܬܩ ܪܘܓܙܗܘܢ ܘܒܨܦܪܐ ܝܩܕ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܫܠܗܒܝܬܐ
wshlhbyth' nwr' 'yk hw' yqd wbtspr' rwgzhwn ethq lly' wklh bkm'nhwn thnwr' 'yk lbhwn dkhm mTl
For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their anger smolders all night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܡܘ ܐܝܟ ܬܢܘܪܐ ܘܐܟܠܘ ܠܕܝܢܝܗܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܠܟܝܗܘܢ ܢܦܠܘ ܘܠܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܕܩܪܐ ܠܝ
ly dqr' bhwn wlyth nplw mlkyhwn klhwn ldynyhwn w'klw thnwr' 'yk khmw klhwn
They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.

ܐܦܪܝܡ ܒܥܡܡܐ ܐܬܚܠܛ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܗܘܐ ܚܚܘܪܬܐ ܕܥܕܠܐ ܐܬܐܦܝܬ ܐܬܐܟܠܬ
'th'klth 'th'pyth dedl' khkhwrth' hw' 'prym 'thkhlT bemm' 'prym
Ephraim mixes himself among the nations. Ephraim is a pancake not turned over.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܟܠܘ ܢܘܟܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ ܘܚܘܪܬܐ ܢܦܩ ܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܝܕܥ
yde wl' lh npq wkhwrth' yde wl' khylh nwkry' 'klw hkn'
Strangers have devoured his strength, and he doesn’t realize it. Indeed, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he doesn’t realize it.

ܘܐܬܡܟܟ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܦܢܝܘ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܥܐܘܗܝ

The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven’t returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him, for all this.

ܘܗܘܐ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܢܐ ܫܒܪܬܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܒܗ ܠܒܐ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܐܬܘ ܘܠܐܬܘܪ ܐܙܠܘ
'zlw wl'thwr 'thw lmtsryn lb' bh dlyth shbrth' ywn' 'yk 'prym whw'
“Ephraim is like an easily deceived dove, without understanding. They call to Egypt. They go to Assyria.

ܠܐܬܪ ܕܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܐܦܪܘܣ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܡܨܝܕܬܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܐܚܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܪܕܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܫܡܥܐ ܕܣܗܕܘܬܗܘܢ
dshdwthhwn shme' 'yk 'nwn w'rd' 'nwn 'khth dshmy' prkhth' w'yk mtsydthy elyhwn 'prws dn'zlwn l'thr
When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

ܘܝ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܢܕܘ ܡܢܝ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܐܝܬܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܕܐܥܠܝܘ ܒܝ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܦܪܩܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܡܠܠܘ ܥܠܝ ܕܓܠܘܬܐ
dglwth' ely mllw whnwn 'nwn prqth gyr 'n' by d'elyw el elyhwn 'yth' byshth' mny dndw lhwn wy
Woe to them! For they have wandered from me. Destruction to them! For they have trespassed against me. Though I would redeem them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

ܘܠܐ ܓܥܘ ܠܘܬܝ ܡܢ ܟܠܗ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܠܠܘ ܥܠ ܡܫܟܒܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܥܒܘܪܐ ܘܥܠ ܚܡܪܐ ܡܬܟܬܫܝܢ ܘܡܪܕܘ ܒܝ
by wmrdw mthkthshyn khmr' wel ebwr' el mshkbhwn el 'yllw 'l' lbhwn klh mn lwthy gew wl'
They haven’t cried to me with their heart, but they howl on their beds. They assemble themselves for grain and new wine. They turn away from me.

ܘܐܢܐ ܪܕܝܬ ܘܐܥܫܢܬ ܕܪܥܗܘܢ ܘܥܠܝ ܐܬܚܫܒܘ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' 'thkhshbw wely drehwn w'eshnth rdyth w'n'
Though I have taught and strengthened their arms, yet they plot evil against me.

ܐܬܗܦܟܘ ܥܠ ܠܐ ܡܕܡ ܘܗܘܘ ܐܝܟ ܩܫܬܐ ܢܟܝܠܬܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܪܘܪܒܢܝܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܚܘܬܐ ܕܠܫܢܗܘܢ ܗܢܘ ܥܘܪܙܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn db're' ewrzlhwn hnw dlshnhwn mrkhwth' mn rwrbnyhwn bkhrb' nplwn nkylth' qshth' 'yk whww mdm l' el 'thhpkw
They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.
