ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܢܐܙܠ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܡܚܢ ܘܗܘ ܢܐܣܝܢ ܘܬܒܪܢ ܘܗܘ ܢܥܨܒܢ
netsbn whw wthbrn n'syn whw dmkhn mry' lwth n'zl nhpwk wn'mrwn
“Come! Let’s return to Yahweh; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds.

ܘܢܚܝܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܘܒܝܘܡܐ ܬܠܝܬܝܐ ܢܩܝܡܢ ܘܢܚܐ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ
qdmwhy wnkh' nqymn thlythy' wbywm' ywmth' wnkhyn
After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.

ܘܢܕܥ ܠܡܐܙܠ ܠܐܝܕܥܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܫܦܪܐ ܕܬܩܢ ܡܦܩܗ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܠܢ ܐܝܟ ܡܛܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܪܒܝܥܐ ܕܡܪܘܐ ܠܐܪܥܐ
l're' dmrw' rbye' w'yk mTr' 'yk ln wn'th' mpqh dthqn shpr' 'yk dmry' l'ydethh lm'zl wnde
Let’s acknowledge Yahweh. Let’s press on to know Yahweh. As surely as the sun rises, Yahweh will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.”

ܡܢܐ ܐܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܡܢܐ ܐܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܛܝܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܢܢܐ ܕܨܦܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܛܠܐ ܕܡܩܕܡ ܘܥܒܪ

“Ephraim, what shall I do to you? Judah, what shall I do to you? For your love is like a morning cloud, and like the dew that disappears early.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܦܣܩܬ ܢܒܝܐ ܘܩܛܠܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܡܐܡܪ ܦܘܡܝ ܘܕܝܢܝ ܐܝܟ ܢܘܗܪܐ ܢܦܘܩ

Therefore I have cut them to pieces with the prophets; I killed them with the words of my mouth. Your judgments are like a flash of lightning.

ܡܛܠ ܕܨܒܝܬ ܒܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܕܒܚܬܐ ܘܒܐܝܕܥܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܝܩܕܐ ܫܠܡܐ
shlm' yqd' mn Tb d'lh' wb'ydethh bdbkhth' wl' bTybwth' dtsbyth mTl
For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

ܘܗܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܥܒܪܘ ܥܠ ܩܝܡܝ ܘܬܡܢ ܕܓܠܘ ܒܝ
by dglw wthmn qymy el ebrw brnsh' 'yk whnwn
But they, like Adam, have broken the covenant. They were unfaithful to me there.

ܓܠܥܕ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܥܒܕܝ ܥܘܠܐ ܘܡܦܠܦܠܐ ܒܕܡܐ
bdm' wmplpl' ewl' debdy hy mdynth' gled
Gilead is a city of those who work iniquity; it is stained with blood.

ܥܘܫܢܟܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܓܝܣܐ ܐܫܬܘܬܦܘ ܟܗܢܐ ܒܐܘܪܚܐ ܘܩܛܠܘ ܠܫܟܝܡ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܘܠܐ ܥܒܕܘ

As gangs of robbers wait to ambush a man, so the company of priests murder on the path toward Shechem, committing shameful crimes.

ܒܒܝܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܚܙܝܬ ܬܡܗܐ ܬܡܢ ܙܢܝ ܐܦܪܝܡ ܘܐܬܛܢܦ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl w'thTnp 'prym zny thmn thmh' khzyth d'ysr'yl bbyth'
In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing. There is prostitution in Ephraim. Israel is defiled.
