ܘܐܢ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܢܝܢܐ ܕܒܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܝܟ ܚܠܐ ܕܝܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܬܬܟܝܠ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܡܢܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܐܬܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܥܡܝ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܡܢ ܢܬܩܪܘܢ ܒܢܝܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܐ

“Say to your brothers, ‘My people!’ and to your sisters, ‘My loved one!’

ܘܢܬܟܢܫܘܢ ܒܢܝ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܢܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܝܟ ܚܕܐ ܘܢܥܒܕܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܪܝܫܐ ܚܕ ܘܢܣܩܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܪܒ ܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܝܙܪܥܝܠ
d'yzreyl ywm' hw drb mTl 're' mn wnsqwn khd rysh' lhwn wnebdwn khd' 'yk 'ysryl wbny yhwd' bny wnthknshwn
Contend with your mother! Contend, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband; and let her put away her prostitution from her face, and her adulteries from between her breasts;

ܩܪܘ ܠܐܚܝܟܘܢ ܥܡܝ ܘܠܐܚܘܬܟܘܢ ܪܚܝܡܬܐ
rkhymth' wl'khwthkwn emy l'khykwn qrw
lest I strip her naked, and make her bare as in the day that she was born, and make her like a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and kill her with thirst.

ܕܘܢܘ ܥܡ ܐܡܟܘܢ ܕܘܢܘ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܬ ܐܢܬܬܝ ܘܐܢܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܒܥܠܗ ܬܥܒܪ ܙܢܝܘܬܗ ܡܢ ܐܦܝܗ ܘܓܘܪܗ ܡܢ ܒܝܢܬ ܬܕܝܗ
thdyh bynth mn wgwrh 'pyh mn znywthh thebr belh hwyth l' w'n' 'nththy hwth l' dhy mTl dwnw 'mkwn em dwnw
Indeed, on her children I will have no mercy, for they are children of unfaithfulness.

ܕܠܐ ܐܫܠܚܝܗ ܥܪܛܠ ܘܐܫܒܩܝܗ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܝܠܝܕܐ ܒܗ ܘܐܥܒܕܝܗ ܐܝܟ ܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܪܥܐ ܨܗܝܬܐ ܘܐܡܝܬܝܗ ܒܨܗܝܐ
btshy' w'mythyh tshyth' 're' w'yk mdbr' 'yk w'ebdyh bh dylyd' ywm' 'yk w'shbqyh erTl 'shlkhyh dl'
For their mother has played the prostitute. She who conceived them has done shamefully; for she said, ‘I will go after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, my oil and my drink.’

ܘܥܠ ܒܢܝܗ ܠܐ ܐܪܚܡ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܢܝ ܙܢܝܬܐ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn znyth' dbny mTl 'rkhm l' bnyh wel
Therefore behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, that she can’t find her way.

ܡܛܠ ܕܙܢܝܬ ܐܡܗܘܢ ܘܒܗܬܬ ܝܠܕܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܐܙܠ ܒܬܪ ܪܚܡܝ ܝܗܒܝ ܠܚܡܝ ܘܡܝ ܘܢܚܬܝ ܘܟܬܢܝ ܘܡܫܚܝ ܘܟܠ ܕܡܬܒܥܐ ܠܝ
ly dmthbe' wkl wmshkhy wkthny wnkhthy wmy lkhmy yhby rkhmy bthr 'zl w'mrth yldthhwn wbhthth 'mhwn dznyth mTl
She will follow after her lovers, but she won’t overtake them; and she will seek them, but won’t find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now.’

ܡܛܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܗܐ ܣܐܓ ܐܢܐ ܐܘܪܚܬܗ ܒܕܪܕܪܐ ܘܐܣܘܓ ܫܒܝܠܝܗ ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܠܐ ܬܫܟܚ
thshkkh l' w'wrkh' shbylyh w'swg bdrdr' 'wrkhthh 'n' s'g h' hlyn mTl
For she didn’t know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.

ܘܬܐܙܠ ܒܬܪ ܪܚܡܝܗ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܬܒܥܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܟܚ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܬܐܡܪ ܐܗܦܘܟ ܐܙܠ ܠܝ ܠܘܬ ܒܥܠܝ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܛܒ ܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܕܗܫܐ
dhsh' mn dyn hy ly hw' dTb mTl qdmy' bely lwth ly 'zl 'hpwk wth'mr 'nwn thshkkh wl' 'nwn wthbe' 'nwn thdrk wl' rkhmyh bthr wth'zl
Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my new wine in its season, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.

ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܬ ܕܐܢܐ ܝܗܒܬ ܠܗ ܥܒܘܪܐ ܘܚܡܪܐ ܘܡܫܚܐ ܘܣܐܡܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܐܣܓܝܬ ܠܗ ܘܡܢܗ ܥܒܕܘ ܒܥܠܐ
bel' ebdw wmnh lh 'sgyth wdhb' ws'm' wmshkh' wkhmr' ebwr' lh yhbth d'n' ydeth l' dyn hy
Now I will uncover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and no one will deliver her out of my hand.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܗܦܘܟ ܐܣܒ ܥܒܘܪܝ ܒܙܒܢܗ ܘܚܡܪܝ ܒܙܒܢܗ ܘܐܣܒ ܥܡܪܝ ܘܟܬܢܝ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܗ ܕܬܟܣܐ ܦܘܪܣܝܗ
pwrsyh dthks' lh dyhbth wkthny emry w'sb bzbnh wkhmry bzbnh ebwry 'sb 'hpwk hn' mTl
I will also cause all her celebrations to cease: her feasts, her new moons, her Sabbaths, and all her solemn assemblies.

ܡܟܝܠ ܐܓܠܐ ܦܘܪܣܝܗ ܩܕܡ ܪܚܡܝܗ ܘܐܢܫ ܠܐ ܢܦܨܝܗ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܝ
'ydy mn nptsyh l' w'nsh rkhmyh qdm pwrsyh 'gl' mkyl
I will lay waste her vines and her fig trees, about which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me,’ and I will make them a forest, and the animals of the field shall eat them.

ܘܐܒܛܠ ܟܠܗ ܚܕܘܬܗ ܥܕܥܐܕܝܗ ܘܪܝܫ ܝܪܚܝܗ ܘܫܒܬܗ ܘܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܐܕܝܗ
e'dyh wklhwn wshbthh yrkhyh wrysh ede'dyh khdwthh klh w'bTl
I will visit on her the days of the Baals, to which she burned incense when she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and went after her lovers and forgot me,” says Yahweh.

ܘܐܚܪܒ ܓܘܦܢܝܗ ܘܬܐܢܝܗ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܕܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܐܢܝܢ ܕܝܗܒܘ ܠܝ ܪܚܡܝ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܐܢܝܢ ܥܒܐ ܘܬܐܟܘܠ ܐܢܝܢ ܚܝܘܬ ܒܪܐ
br' khywth 'nyn wth'kwl eb' 'nyn w'ebd rkhmy ly dyhbw 'nyn dmwhbth' d'mrth wth'nyh gwpnyh w'khrb
“Therefore behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her.

ܘܐܦܩܘܕ ܥܠܝܗ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܕܣܝܡܐ ܗܘܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܒܣܡܐ ܘܫܩܠܬ ܩܕܫܝܗ ܘܡܪܓܢܝܬܗ ܘܐܙܠܬ ܒܬܪ ܪܚܡܝܗ ܘܠܝ ܛܥܬ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'mr Teth wly rkhmyh bthr w'zlth wmrgnythh qdshyh wshqlth bsm' bhwn hwth dsym' dbel' ywmth' elyh w'pqwd
I will give her vineyards from there, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope; and she will respond there as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

ܡܛܠ ܗܠܝܢ ܗܐ ܡܫܕܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܘܡܘܒܠ ܐܢܐ ܠܗ ܠܡܕܒܪܐ ܘܐܡܠܐ ܒܠܒܗ
blbh w'ml' lmdbr' lh 'n' wmwbl lh 'n' mshdl h' hlyn mTl
It will be in that day,” says Yahweh, “that you will call me ‘my husband,’ and no longer call me ‘my master.’

ܘܐܬܠ ܠܗ ܟܪܡܝܗ ܡܢ ܬܡܢ ܘܥܘܡܩܐ ܕܥܟܪ ܕܢܬܦܬܚ ܣܘܟܠܗ ܘܬܬܡܟܟ ܬܡܢ ܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܝ ܛܠܝܘܬܗ ܘܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܣܠܩܬ ܒܗ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn 're' mn bh dslqth ywm' w'yk Tlywthh ywmy 'yk thmn wththmkk swklh dnthpthkh dekr wewmq' thmn mn krmyh lh w'thl
For I will take away the names of the Baals out of her mouth, and they will no longer be mentioned by name.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܬܩܪܝܢܝ ܓܒܪܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܘܒ ܬܩܪܝܢܝ ܒܥܠܝ
bely thqryny thwb wl' gbry thqryny mry' 'mr hw bywm' wnhw'
In that day I will make a covenant for them with the animals of the field, and with the birds of the sky, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the land, and will make them lie down safely.

ܘܐܥܒܪ ܫܡܐ ܕܒܥܠܐ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܕܟܪܘܢ ܬܘܒ ܫܡܗ
shmh thwb nthdkrwn wl' pwmh mn dbel' shm' w'ebr
I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion.

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܠܗܘܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܥܡ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ ܘܥܡ ܦܪܚܬܐ ܕܫܡܝܐ ܘܪܚܫܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܘܩܫܬܐ ܘܣܝܦܐ ܘܩܪܒܐ ܐܒܛܠ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܐܫܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܣܒܪܐ
bsbr' 'nwn w'shr' 're' mn 'bTl wqrb' wsyp' wqshth' d're' wrkhsh' dshmy' prkhth' wem ddbr' khywth' em hw bywm' qym' lhwn w'qym
I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh.

ܘܐܡܟܪܟܝ ܠܝ ܠܥܠܡ ܘܐܡܟܪܟܝ ܠܝ ܒܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܒܕܝܢܐ ܘܒܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܒܪܚܡܐ
wbrkhm' wbTybwth' wbdyn' bzdyqwth' ly w'mkrky lelm ly w'mkrky
It will happen in that day, that I will respond,” says Yahweh. “I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth;

ܘܐܡܟܪܟܝ ܠܝ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܬܕܥܝܢ ܠܡܪܝܐ
lmry' wthdeyn bhymnwth' ly w'mkrky
and the earth will respond to the grain, and the new wine, and the oil; and they will respond to Jezreel.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܥܢܐ ܠܫܡܝܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܢܥܢܘܢ ܠܐܪܥܐ
l're' nenwn whnwn lshmy' 'en' mry' 'mr hw bywm' wnhw'
I will sow her to me in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; and I will tell those who were not my people, ‘You are my people;’ and they will say, ‘You are My God!’”

ܘܐܪܥܐ ܬܥܢܐ ܠܥܒܘܪܐ ܘܠܚܡܪܐ ܘܠܡܫܚܐ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܢܥܢܘܢ ܠܐܝܙܪܥܝܠ
