ܒܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܦܘܩܕܐ ܕܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܥܠܡܢܝܐ
bqdmyth' dyn 'yth hw' bh pwqd' dthshmshth' wbyth qwdsh' elmny'
Now indeed even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service, and an earthly sanctuary.

ܡܫܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܐܬܥܒܕ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܡܢܪܬܐ ܘܦܬܘܪܐ ܘܠܚܡ ܐܦܐ ܘܡܬܩܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܒܝܬ ܩܘܕܫܐ
mshkn' gyr qdmy' d'thebd 'yth hw' bh mnrth' wpthwr' wlkhm 'p' wmthqr' hw' byth qwdsh'
For a tabernacle was prepared. In the first part were the lamp stand, the table, and the show bread; which is called the Holy Place.

ܡܫܟܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܓܘܝܐ ܕܠܓܘ ܡܢ ܐܦܝ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܬܪܝܢ ܡܬܩܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܩܕܘܫ ܩܘܕܫܐ
mshkn' dyn gwy' dlgw mn 'py thre' dthryn mthqr' hw' qdwsh qwdsh'
After the second veil was the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies,

ܘܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܒܝܬ ܒܣܡܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܘܩܒܘܬܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܩܪܝܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܒܕܗܒܐ ܘܐܝܬ ܒܗ ܩܣܛܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܡܢܢܐ ܘܫܒܛܐ ܕܐܗܪܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܐܦܪܥ ܘܠܘܚܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ

having a golden altar of incense, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which was a golden pot holding the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

ܘܠܥܠ ܡܢܗ ܟܪܘܒܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܡܛܠܝܢ ܥܠ ܚܘܣܝܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ ܙܒܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܢܐܡܪ ܥܠ ܚܕܐ ܚܕܐ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܡܬܩܢܢ ܗܘܝ
wlel mnh krwb' dshwbkh' dmTlyn el khwsy' l' hw' dyn zbn' hw dn'mr el khd' khd' mn hlyn dhkn' mthqnn hwy
and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat, of which things we can’t speak now in detail.

ܘܠܡܫܟܢܐ ܒܪܝܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܥܐܠܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܘܡܫܠܡܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܬܫܡܫܬܗܘܢ

Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the services,

ܠܡܫܟܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܠܓܘ ܡܢܗ ܚܕܐ ܗܘ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܒܠܚܘܕܘܗܝ ܥܐܠ ܗܘܐ ܪܒܟܘܡܪܐ ܒܕܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܩܪܒ ܗܘܐ ܚܠܦ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܚܠܦ ܣܟܠܘܬܗ ܕܥܡܐ
lmshkn' dyn dlgw mnh khd' hw bshnth' blkhwdwhy e'l hw' rbkwmr' bdm' hw dmqrb hw' khlp npshh wkhlp sklwthh dem'
but into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the errors of the people.

ܒܗܕܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܘܕܥܐ ܗܘܬ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܓܠܝܬ ܥܕܟܝܠ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܟܡܐ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܩܝܡܐ ܠܡܫܟܢܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ
bhd' dyn mwde' hwth rwkh' dqwdsh' dl' 'thglyth edkyl 'wrkh' dqdysh' km' zbn' d'yth hw' qym' lmshkn' qdmy'
The Holy Spirit is indicating this, that the way into the Holy Place wasn’t yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing;

ܘܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܗܘܐ ܡܬܠܐ ܗܢܐ ܠܙܒܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܗ ܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܕܒܚܐ ܡܬܩܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܡܓܡܪ ܬܐܪܬܗ ܕܡܢ ܕܡܩܪܒ ܠܗܘܢ
w'ythwhy hw' mthl' hn' lzbn' hw dbh qwrbn' wdbkh' mthqrbyn hww 'ylyn dl' mshkkhyn hww lmgmr th'rthh dmn dmqrb lhwn
which is a symbol of the present age, where gifts and sacrifices are offered that are incapable, concerning the conscience, of making the worshiper perfect;

ܐܠܐ ܒܡܐܟܠܐ ܘܒܡܫܬܝܐ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܘܒܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܕܙܢܝܢ ܙܢܝܢ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܝܢ ܦܘܩܕܐ ܕܒܣܪܐ ܕܣܝܡܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܙܒܢܐ ܕܬܘܪܨܐ
'l' bm'kl' wbmshthy' blkhwd wbmemwdyth' dznyn znyn d'ythyhyn pwqd' dbsr' dsymyn edm' lzbn' dthwrts'
being only (with meats and drinks and various washings) fleshly ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation.

ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܪܒܟܘܡܪܐ ܕܛܒܬܐ ܕܣܥܪ ܘܥܠ ܠܡܫܟܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܘܡܫܠܡܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܥܒܝܕ ܒܐܝܕܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܒܪܝܬܐ
mshykh' dyn d'th' hw' rbkwmr' dTbth' dser wel lmshkn' rb' wmshlmn' dl' ebyd b'ydy' wl' hw' mn hlyn bryth'
But Christ having come as a high priest of the coming good things, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,

ܘܠܐ ܥܠ ܒܕܡܐ ܕܨܦܪܝܐ ܘܕܥܓܠܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܕܡܐ ܕܢܦܫܗ ܥܠ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܠܒܝܬ ܡܩܕܫܐ ܘܐܫܟܚ ܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ

nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܐ ܕܨܦܪܝܐ ܘܕܥܓܠܐ ܘܩܛܡܐ ܕܥܓܠܬܐ ܡܬܪܣܣ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܛܡܐܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܘܡܩܕܫ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܕܘܟܝܐ ܕܒܣܪܗܘܢ
'n gyr dm' dtspry' wdegl' wqTm' deglth' mthrss hw' el 'ylyn dmthTm'yn hww wmqdsh lhwn ldwky' dbsrhwn
For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify to the cleanness of the flesh:

ܟܡܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܕܡܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ ܢܦܫܗ ܩܪܒ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܢܕܟܐ ܬܐܪܬܢ ܡܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܕܢܫܡܫ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܐ
km' hkyl ythyr'yth dmh dmshykh' dbrwkh' dlelm npshh qrb dl' mwm l'lh' ndk' th'rthn mn ebd' myth' dnshmsh l'lh' khy'
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܗܘܐ ܡܨܥܝܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܚܕܬܐ ܕܒܡܘܬܗ ܗܘ ܗܘܐ ܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܒܪܘ ܥܠ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܕܢܣܒܘܢ ܡܘܠܟܢܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܬܩܪܝܘ ܠܝܪܬܘܬܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
mTl hn' hw hw' mtsey' ddythq' khdth' dbmwthh hw hw' pwrqn' l'ylyn debrw el dythq' qdmyth' dnsbwn mwlkn' 'ylyn d'thqryw lyrthwth' dlelm
For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

ܐܝܟܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܝܬ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܡܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܡܚܘܝܐ ܕܗܘ ܕܥܒܕܗ

For where a last will and testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him who made it.

ܥܠ ܡܝܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܡܫܬܪܪܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܟܡܐ ܕܚܝ ܗܘ ܕܥܒܕܗ ܠܝܬ ܒܗ ܚܫܚܘ
el myth' dyn blkhwd mshthrr' mTl dkm' dkhy hw debdh lyth bh khshkhw
For a will is in force where there has been death, for it is never in force while he who made it lives.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܦܠܐ ܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܕܡܐ ܐܫܬܪܪܬ

Therefore even the first covenant has not been dedicated without blood.

ܟܕ ܐܬܦܩܕ ܓܝܪ ܟܠܗ ܦܘܩܕܢܐ ܡܢ ܡܘܫܐ ܠܥܡܐ ܟܠܗ ܒܢܡܘܣܐ ܢܣܒ ܗܘܐ ܡܘܫܐ ܕܡܐ ܕܥܓܠܬܐ ܘܡܝܐ ܒܥܡܪܐ ܕܙܚܘܪܝܬܐ ܘܙܘܦܐ ܘܪܣ ܥܠ ܣܦܪܐ ܘܥܠ ܥܡܐ ܟܠܗ
kd 'thpqd gyr klh pwqdn' mn mwsh' lem' klh bnmws' nsb hw' mwsh' dm' deglth' wmy' bemr' dzkhwryth' wzwp' wrs el spr' wel em' klh
For when every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܬܦܩܕܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ
w'mr lhwn hn' hw dm' ddythq' hy d'thpqdth lkwn mn 'lh'
saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.”

ܐܦ ܥܠ ܡܫܟܢܐ ܘܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܐܢܐ ܕܬܫܡܫܬܐ ܡܢܗ ܡܢ ܕܡܐ ܪܣ
'p el mshkn' wel klhwn m'n' dthshmshth' mnh mn dm' rs
Moreover he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in the same way with the blood.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܡܕܡ ܒܕܡܐ ܗܘ ܡܬܕܟܐ ܒܢܡܘܣܐ ܘܕܠܐ ܫܘܦܥ ܕܡܐ ܠܝܬ ܫܘܒܩܢܐ
mTl dklmdm bdm' hw mthdk' bnmws' wdl' shwpe dm' lyth shwbqn'
According to the law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no remission.

ܐܢܢܩܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܕܕܡܘܬܐ ܐܢܝܢ ܕܫܡܝܢܝܬܐ ܒܗܠܝܢ ܡܬܕܟܝܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܫܡܝܢܝܬܐ ܒܕܒܚܐ ܕܡܝܬܪܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܠܝܢ
'nnq' hy gyr dhlyn ddmwth' 'nyn dshmynyth' bhlyn mthdkyn hlyn dyn shmynyth' bdbkh' dmythryn mn hlyn
It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܠܒܝܬ ܡܩܕܫܐ ܕܥܒܝܕ ܒܐܝܕܝܐ ܥܠ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܗܘ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܐܠܐ ܠܗ ܠܫܡܝܐ ܥܠ ܕܢܬܚܙܐ ܩܕܡ ܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܚܠܦܝܢ
l' hw' gyr lbyth mqdsh' debyd b'ydy' el mshykh' d'ythwhy dmwth' dhw shryr' 'l' lh lshmy' el dnthkhz' qdm prtswph d'lh' khlpyn
For Christ hasn’t entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

ܐܦܠܐ ܕܢܩܪܒ ܢܦܫܗ ܙܒܢܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܒܕ ܗܘܐ ܪܒ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܘܥܐܠ ܒܟܠ ܫܢܐ ܠܒܝܬ ܡܩܕܫܐ ܒܕܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܕܝܠܗ
'pl' dnqrb npshh zbnth' sgy'th' 'yk debd hw' rb kwmr' we'l bkl shn' lbyth mqdsh' bdm' dl' dylh
nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,

ܘܐܢ ܠܐ ܚܝܒ ܗܘܐ ܕܙܒܢܬܐ ܣܓܝܐܬܐ ܢܚܫ ܡܢ ܫܘܪܝܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܗܫܐ ܕܝܢ ܒܚܪܬܗ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܚܕܐ ܗܘ ܙܒܢ ܩܪܒ ܢܦܫܗ ܒܕܒܝܚܘܬܗ ܕܢܒܛܠܝܗ ܠܚܛܝܬܐ
w'n l' khyb hw' dzbnth' sgy'th' nkhsh mn shwryh delm' hsh' dyn bkhrthh delm' khd' hw zbn qrb npshh bdbykhwthh dnbTlyh lkhTyth'
or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

ܘܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܣܝܡ ܠܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܕܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܢܡܘܬܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܡܘܬܗܘܢ ܕܝܢܐ

Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment,

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܦ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܐܬܩܪܒ ܘܒܩܢܘܡܗ ܕܒܚ ܚܛܗܐ ܕܣܓܝܐܐ ܕܬܪܬܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܚܛܗܝܢ ܡܬܚܙܐ ܠܚܝܝܗܘܢ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܣܟܝܢ ܠܗ
hkn' 'p mshykh' khd' zbn 'thqrb wbqnwmh dbkh khTh' dsgy'' dthrthyn dyn zbnyn dl' khThyn mthkhz' lkhyyhwn d'ylyn dmskyn lh
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.
