ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܢܫܒܘܩ ܫܘܪܝܐ ܕܡܠܬܗ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܠܓܡܝܪܘܬܐ ܐܘ ܠܡܐ ܬܘܒ ܫܬܐܣܬܐ ܐܚܪܬܐ ܡܪܡܝܬܘܢ ܠܬܝܒܘܬܐ ܡܢ ܥܒܕܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܘܠܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܒܐܠܗܐ

Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let us press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,

ܘܠܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܘܕܣܝܡ ܐܝܕܐ ܘܠܩܝܡܬܐ ܕܡܢ ܒܝܬ ܡܝܬܐ ܘܠܕܝܢܐ ܕܠܥܠܡ
dlelm wldyn' myth' byth dmn wlqymth' 'yd' wdsym dmemwdyth' wlywlpn'
of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

ܐܠܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܠܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܢܚܬܘ ܘܛܥܡܘ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܢܣܒܘ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ
dqwdsh' rwkh' wnsbw shmy' dmn mwhbth' wTemw nkhthw lmemwdyth' zbn dkhd' hnwn mshkkhyn l' 'l'
For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

ܘܛܥܡܘ ܡܠܬܐ ܛܒܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܚܝܠܐ ܕܥܠܡܐ ܕܥܬܝܕ
dethyd delm' wkhyl' d'lh' Tbth' mlth' wTemw
and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come,

ܕܬܘܒ ܢܚܛܘܢ ܕܡܢ ܕܪܝܫ ܢܬܚܕܬܘܢ ܠܬܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܡܢ ܕܪܝܫ ܢܙܩܦܘܢ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܢܨܥܪܘܢ
wntserwn d'lh' lbrh nzqpwn drysh wmn lthybwth' nthkhdthwn drysh dmn nkhTwn dthwb
and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.

ܐܪܥܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܫܬܝܬ ܡܛܪܐ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܗ ܙܒܢܝܢ ܣܓܝܐܢ ܘܐܘܥܝܬ ܥܣܒܐ ܕܚܫܚ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܛܠܬܗܘܢ ܡܬܦܠܚܐ ܡܩܒܠܐ ܒܘܪܟܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' mn bwrkth' mqbl' mthplkh' dmTlthhwn lhnwn dkhshkh esb' w'weyth sgy'n zbnyn lh d'th' mTr' d'shthyth gyr 're'
For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it, and produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;

ܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܦܩ ܩܘܪܛܒܐ ܘܕܪܕܪܐ ܗܘܝܐ ܠܗ ܡܣܠܝܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܪܚܝܩܐ ܡܢ ܠܘܛܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܚܪܬܗ ܝܩܕܢܐ ܗܘ
hw yqdn' khrthh 'l' lwTth' mn rkhyq' wl' mslyth' lh hwy' wdrdr' qwrTb' dthpq dyn hw 'n
but if it bears thorns and thistles, it is rejected and near being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

ܡܦܝܣܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܐܚܝ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܫܦܝܪܢ ܘܩܪܝܒܢ ܠܚܝܐ ܐܦܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܡܡܠܠܝܢܢ
mmllynn hkn' 'pn lkhy' wqrybn dshpyrn 'ylyn 'khy elykwn dyn mpysynn
But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak like this.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܓܝܪ ܥܘܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܛܥܐ ܥܒܕܝܟܘܢ ܘܚܘܒܟܘܢ ܗܘ ܕܚܘܝܬܘܢ ܒܫܡܗ ܕܫܡܫܬܘܢ ܠܩܕܝܫܐ ܘܡܫܡܫܝܬܘܢ
wmshmshythwn lqdysh' dshmshthwn bshmh dkhwythwn hw wkhwbkwn ebdykwn dnTe' 'lh' ewl gyr hw' l'
For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

ܨܒܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܚܦܝܛܘܬܐ ܢܚܘܐ ܠܫܘܡܠܝܐ ܕܣܒܪܟܘܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܚܪܬܐ
lkhrth' edm' dsbrkwn lshwmly' nkhw' khpyTwth' hd' hy mnkwn 'nsh d'nsh dyn tsbynn
We desire that each one of you may show the same diligence to the fullness of hope even to the end,

ܘܕܠܐ ܬܬܩܛܥ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܕܬܗܘܘܢ ܡܡܪܝܢܐ ܠܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܢܓܝܪܘܬ ܪܘܚܐ ܗܘܘ ܝܪܬܐ ܕܡܘܠܟܢܐ
dmwlkn' yrth' hww rwkh' wbngyrwth dbhymnwth' lhnwn mmryn' dthhwwn 'l' lkwn ththqTe wdl'
that you won’t be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherited the promises.

ܠܐܒܪܗܡ ܓܝܪ ܟܕ ܡܠܟ ܠܗ ܐܠܗܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܪܒ ܡܢܗ ܕܢܐܡܐ ܒܗ ܝܡܐ ܒܢܦܫܗ
bnpshh ym' bh dn'm' mnh drb lh hw' dlyth mTl 'lh' lh mlk kd gyr l'brhm
For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself,

ܘܐܡܪ ܕܡܒܪܟܘ ܐܒܪܟܟ ܘܡܣܓܝܘ ܐܣܓܝܟ
'sgyk wmsgyw 'brkk dmbrkw w'mr
saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”

ܘܗܟܢܐ ܐܓܪ ܪܘܚܗ ܘܩܒܠ ܡܘܠܟܢܐ
mwlkn' wqbl rwkhh 'gr whkn'
Thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

ܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܕܪܒ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܝܡܝܢ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܚܪܝܢ ܕܗܘܐ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܫܘܠܡܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܒܡܘܡܬܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܗ
lh hw' bmwmth' shryr' shwlm' bynthhwn dhw' khryn kl wel ymyn mnhwn bdrb gyr bnynsh'
For men indeed swear by a greater one, and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܨܒܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܚܘܐ ܠܝܪܬܐ ܕܡܘܠܟܢܐ ܕܫܘܘܕܝܗ ܠܐ ܡܫܬܚܠܦ ܘܚܒܫܗ ܒܡܘܡܬܐ
bmwmth' wkhbshh mshthkhlp l' dshwwdyh dmwlkn' lyrth' dnkhw' 'lh' tsb' ythyr'yth hn' mTl
In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath;

ܕܒܬܪܬܝܢ ܨܒܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܬܚܠܦܢ ܕܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܢܕܓܠ ܒܗܝܢ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܪܒܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܢ ܕܐܬܓܘܣܢ ܒܗ ܘܢܐܚܘܕ ܣܒܪܐ ܕܡܠܝܟ ܠܢ
ln dmlyk sbr' wn'khwd bh d'thgwsn ln nhw' rb' bwy'' bhyn dndgl 'lh' mshkkh dl' mshthkhlpn dl' tsbwn dbthrthyn
that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.

ܗܘ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܠܢ ܐܝܟ ܐܘܩܝܢܐ ܕܠܒܝܟ ܒܢܦܫܢ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܙܝܥ ܘܥܐܠ ܠܓܘ ܡܢ ܐܦܝ ܬܪܥܐ
thre' 'py mn lgw we'l ththzye dl' bnpshn dlbyk 'wqyn' 'yk ln d'ythwhy hw
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil;
