ܡܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܐܬܩܪܝܬܘܢ ܒܩܪܝܢܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܚܙܐܘܗܝ ܠܗܢܐ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܪܒ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܕܬܘܕܝܬܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus;

ܕܡܗܝܡܢ ܠܡܢ ܕܥܒܕܗ ܐܝܟ ܡܘܫܐ ܒܟܠܗ ܒܝܬܗ

who was faithful to him who appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.

ܣܓܝܐܐ ܗܝ ܓܝܪ ܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܗܢܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܕܡܘܫܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܣܓܝ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܒܢܝܗ ܕܒܝܬܐ ܛܒ ܡܢ ܒܢܝܢܗ
sgy'' hy gyr thshbwkhthh dhn' Tb mn dmwsh' 'ykn' dsgy 'yqr' dbnyh dbyth' Tb mn bnynh
For he has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, because he who built the house has more honor than the house.

ܟܠ ܒܝܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܐܢܫ ܗܘ ܡܬܒܢܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܕܒܢܐ ܟܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ

For every house is built by someone; but he who built all things is God.

ܘܡܘܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܥܒܕܐ ܐܬܗܝܡܢ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܟܠܗ ܠܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܥܬܝܕܢ ܗܘܝ ܠܡܬܡܠܠܘ ܒܐܝܕܗ
wmwsh' 'yk ebd' 'thhymn bbyth' klh lshdwth' d'ylyn dethydn hwy lmthmllw b'ydh
Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken,

ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܒܪܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܘܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܝܬܗ ܚܢܢ ܐܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܚܪܬܐ ܢܐܚܘܕ ܓܠܝܘܬ ܐܦܐ ܘܫܘܒܗܪܐ ܕܣܒܪܗ
mshykh' dyn 'yk br' el bythh w'ythwhy bythh khnn 'n edm' lkhrth' n'khwd glywth 'p' wshwbhr' dsbrh
but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܐܢ ܒܩܠܗ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ

Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,
“Today if you will hear his voice,

ܠܐ ܬܩܫܘܢ ܠܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܡܪܓܙܘܬܗ ܐܝܟ ܡܡܪܡܪܢܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܢܣܝܘܢܐ ܕܒܡܕܒܪܐ
l' thqshwn lbwthkwn lmrgzwthh 'yk mmrmrn' w'yk ywm' dnsywn' dbmdbr'
don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,
like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,

ܕܢܣܝܘܢܝ ܐܒܗܝܟܘܢ ܘܒܩܘ ܚܙܘ ܥܒܕܝ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܫܢܝܢ
dnsywny 'bhykwn wbqw khzw ebdy 'rbeyn shnyn
where your fathers tested me by proving me,
and saw my deeds for forty years.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܡܐܢܬ ܠܝ ܒܕܪܐ ܗܘ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܕܥܡܐ ܗܘ ܕܛܥܐ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܐܘܪܚܬܝ
mTl hn' m'nth ly bdr' hw w'mrth dem' hw dTe' lbhwn whnwn l' ydew 'wrkhthy
Therefore I was displeased with that generation,
and said, ‘They always err in their heart,
but they didn’t know my ways;’

ܘܐܝܟ ܕܝܡܝܬ ܒܪܘܓܙܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܠܢܝܚܬܝ
w'yk dymyth brwgzy dl' nelwn lnykhthy
as I swore in my wrath,
‘They will not enter into my rest.’”

ܐܙܕܗܪܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܕܠܡܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܠܒܐ ܒܝܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܘܬܦܪܩܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܐ
'zdhrw hkyl 'khy dlm' nhw' b'nsh mnkwn lb' bysh' dl' mhymn wthprqwn mn 'lh' khy'
Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God;

ܐܠܐ ܒܥܘ ܡܢ ܢܦܫܟܘܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܝܘܡܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܩܫܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢܟܘܢ ܒܛܥܝܘܬܐ ܕܚܛܝܬܐ
'l' bew mn npshkwn klhwn ywmth' edm' lywm' dmthqr' ywmn' dl' nthqsh' 'nsh mnkwn bTeywth' dkhTyth'
but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

ܐܬܚܠܛܢ ܓܝܪ ܥܡ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܢ ܡܢ ܪܝܫܝܬܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܚܪܝܬܐ ܒܗ ܒܩܝܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܢܚܡܣܢ
'thkhlTn gyr em mshykh' 'n mn ryshyth' wedm' l'khryth' bh bqym' hn' shryr' nkhmsn
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end:

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܝܪ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ ܐܢ ܒܪܬ ܩܠܗ ܬܫܡܥܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܩܫܘܢ ܠܒܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܡܪܓܙܘܬܗ
'ykn' d'myr dywmn' 'n brth qlh thshmewn l' thqshwn lbwthkwn lmrgzwthh
while it is said,
“Today if you will hear his voice,
don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.”

ܡܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܫܡܥܘ ܘܐܪܓܙܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܢܦܩܘ ܡܢ ܡܨܪܝܢ ܒܝܕ ܡܘܫܐ
mn 'nwn gyr hnwn dshmew w'rgzwhy l' klhwn hlyn dnpqw mn mtsryn byd mwsh'
For who, when they heard, rebelled? No, didn’t all those who came out of Egypt by Moses?

ܘܒܐܝܠܝܢ ܡܐܢܬ ܠܗ ܐܪܒܥܝܢ ܫܢܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܗܢܘܢ ܕܚܛܘ ܘܓܪܡܝܗܘܢ ܢܦܠܘ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ
wb'ylyn m'nth lh 'rbeyn shnyn 'l' bhnwn dkhTw wgrmyhwn nplw bmdbr'
With whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

ܘܥܠ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܝܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܠܘܢ ܠܢܝܚܬܗ ܐܠܐ ܥܠ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܐܬܛܦܝܣܘ
wel 'ylyn ym' dl' nelwn lnykhthh 'l' el hnwn dl' 'thTpysw
To whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

ܘܚܙܝܢܢ ܕܠܐ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܠܡܥܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܗܝܡܢܘ
wkhzynn dl' 'shkkhw lmel mTl dl' hymnw
We see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.
