ܢܡܘܣܐ ܓܝܪ ܛܠܢܝܬܐ ܐܝܬ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ ܕܛܒܬܐ ܕܥܬܝܕܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܩܢܘܡܐ ܕܝܠܗܝܢ ܕܨܒܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܟܕ ܒܟܠ ܫܢܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܟܕ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܚܐ ܡܬܩܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܐܫܟܚܘ ܕܢܓܡܪܘܢ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܩܪܒܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ
nmws' gyr Tlnyth' 'yth hw' bh dTbth' dethydn l' hw' qnwm' dylhyn dtsbwth' mTl hn' kd bkl shn' hnwn kd hnwn dbkh' mthqrbyn hww l' mmthwm 'shkkhw dngmrwn l'ylyn dmqrbyn lhwn
For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near.

ܐܠܘ ܓܝܪ ܓܡܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܟܒܪ ܕܝܢ ܐܬܬܢܝܚܘ ܡܢ ܩܘܪܒܢܝܗܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܠܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܛܪܝܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܬܐܪܬܗܘܢ ܒܚܛܗܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ ܐܬܕܟܝܘ ܠܗܘܢ
'lw gyr gmryn hww kbr dyn 'ththnykhw mn qwrbnyhwn mTl dl' mkyl Try' hwth lhwn th'rthhwn bkhTh' l'ylyn dkhd' zbn 'thdkyw lhwn
Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins?

ܐܠܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܒܕܒܚܐ ܡܕܟܪܝܢ ܚܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܒܟܠ ܫܢܐ
'l' bhwn bdbkh' mdkryn khThyhwn bkl shn'
But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܡܫܟܚ ܕܡܐ ܕܬܘܪܐ ܘܕܨܦܪܝܐ ܠܡܕܟܝܘ ܚܛܗܐ
l' gyr mshkkh dm' dthwr' wdtspry' lmdkyw khTh'
For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܟܕ ܥܐܠ ܠܥܠܡܐ ܐܡܪ ܒܕܒܚܐ ܘܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܬ ܦܓܪܐ ܕܝܢ ܐܠܒܫܬܢܝ
mTl hn' kd e'l lelm' 'mr bdbkh' wqwrbn' l' tsbyth pgr' dyn 'lbshthny
Therefore when he comes into the world, he says,
“Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire,
but you prepared a body for me.

ܘܝܩܕܐ ܫܠܡܐ ܕܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܐ ܠܐ ܫܐܠܬ
wyqd' shlm' dkhlp khTh' l' sh'lth
You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܡܪܬ ܕܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܒܪܝܫ ܟܬܒܐ ܟܬܝܒ ܥܠܝ ܕܐܥܒܕ ܨܒܝܢܟ ܐܠܗܐ
hydyn 'mrth dh' 'n' 'th' 'n' dbrysh kthb' kthyb ely d'ebd tsbynk 'lh'
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me)
to do your will, O God.’”

ܡܢ ܠܥܠ ܐܡܪ ܕܕܒܚܐ ܘܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܘܝܩܕܐ ܫܠܡܐ ܕܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܐ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܬ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܡܬܩܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܢܡܘܣܐ
mn lel 'mr ddbkh' wqwrbn' wyqd' shlm' dkhlp khTh' l' tsbyth hnwn dmthqrbyn hww bnmws'
Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law),

ܘܒܬܪܗ ܐܡܪ ܕܗܐ ܐܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܕܐܥܒܕ ܨܒܝܢܟ ܐܠܗܐ ܒܗܕܐ ܒܛܠ ܠܩܕܡܝܬܐ ܕܢܩܝܡ ܠܕܬܪܬܝܢ
wbthrh 'mr dh' 'th' 'n' d'ebd tsbynk 'lh' bhd' bTl lqdmyth' dnqym ldthrthyn
then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second,

ܒܗܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܐܬܩܕܫܢ ܒܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܦܓܪܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܚܕܐ ܙܒܢ
bhn' gyr tsbynh 'thqdshn bqwrbn' dpgrh dyshwe mshykh' dkhd' zbn
by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

ܟܠ ܪܒ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܩܐܡ ܗܘܐ ܘܡܫܡܫ ܟܠܝܘܡ ܗܢܘܢ ܒܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܚܐ ܡܩܪܒ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܢ ܡܬܘܡ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܡܕܟܝܘ ܚܛܗܐ
kl rb kwmr' gyr dq'm hw' wmshmsh klywm hnwn bhnwn dbkh' mqrb hw' 'ylyn dmn mthwm l' mshkkhyn hww lmdkyw khTh'
Every priest indeed stands day by day serving and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,

ܗܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܚܕ ܕܒܚܐ ܩܪܒ ܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܐ ܘܝܬܒ ܥܠ ܝܡܝܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܠܥܠܡ
hn' dyn khd dbkh' qrb khlp khTh' wythb el ymyn' d'lh' lelm
but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;

ܘܡܩܘܐ ܡܟܝܠ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܬܬܣܝܡܘܢ ܒܥܠܕܒܒܘܗܝ ܟܘܒܫܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܪܓܠܘܗܝ
wmqw' mkyl edm' dnththsymwn beldbbwhy kwbsh' thkhyth rglwhy
from that time waiting until his enemies are made the footstool of his feet.

ܒܚܕ ܓܝܪ ܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܓܡܪ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܩܕܫܝܢ ܒܗ ܠܥܠܡ
bkhd gyr qwrbn' gmr l'ylyn dmthqdshyn bh lelm
For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

ܣܗܕܐ ܠܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܦ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ
shd' ln dyn 'p rwkh' dqwdsh' d'mrth
The Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,

ܗܕܐ ܗܝ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܐܬܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܝܘܡܬܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܬܠܝܘܗܝ ܠܢܡܘܣܝ ܒܡܕܥܝܗܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܠܒܘܬܗܘܢ ܐܟܬܒܝܘܗܝ
hd' hy dythq' d'thl lhwn mn bthr ywmth' hnwn 'mr mry' 'thlywhy lnmwsy bmdeyhwn wel lbwthhwn 'kthbywhy
“This is the covenant that I will make with them:
‘After those days,’ says the Lord,
‘I will put my laws on their heart,
I will also write them on their mind;’”
then he says,

ܘܥܘܠܗܘܢ ܘܚܛܗܝܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܬܕܟܪ ܠܗܘܢ
wewlhwn wkhThyhwn l' 'thdkr lhwn
“I will remember their sins and their iniquities no more.”

ܐܝܟܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܫܘܒܩܢܐ ܕܚܛܗܐ ܠܐ ܡܬܒܥܐ ܩܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܐ
'yk' dyn d'yth shwbqn' dkhTh' l' mthbe' qwrbn' dkhlp khTh'
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

ܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܗܟܝܠ ܐܚܝ ܓܠܝܘܬ ܐܦܐ ܒܡܥܠܢܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܒܕܡܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ
'yth ln hkyl 'khy glywth 'p' bmeln' dbyth qwdsh' bdmh dyshwe
Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus,

ܘܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܚܕܬ ܠܢ ܗܫܐ ܒܐܦܝ ܬܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܒܣܪܗ
w'wrkh' dkhy' dkhdth ln hsh' b'py thre' d'ythwhy bsrh
by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

ܘܐܝܬ ܠܢ ܟܘܡܪܐ ܪܒܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ

and having a great priest over God’s house,

ܢܩܪܘܒ ܗܟܝܠ ܒܠܒܐ ܫܪܝܪܐ ܘܒܬܘܟܠܢܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܟܕ ܪܣܝܣܝܢ ܠܒܘܬܢ ܘܕܟܝܢ ܡܢ ܬܐܪܬܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܡܣܚܝ ܦܓܪܢ ܒܡܝܐ ܕܟܝܐ
nqrwb hkyl blb' shryr' wbthwkln' dhymnwth' kd rsysyn lbwthn wdkyn mn th'rth' byshth' wmskhy pgrn bmy' dky'
let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

ܘܢܚܡܣܢ ܒܬܘܕܝܬܐ ܕܣܒܪܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܨܛܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܕܡܠܟ ܠܢ
wnkhmsn bthwdyth' dsbrn wl' ntsTl' mhymn hw gyr mn dmlk ln
let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

ܘܢܚܘܪ ܚܕ ܒܚܕ ܒܓܘܪܓܐ ܕܚܘܒܐ ܘܕܥܒܕܐ ܛܒܐ
wnkhwr khd bkhd bgwrg' dkhwb' wdebd' Tb'
Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,

ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܫܒܩܝܢ ܟܢܘܫܝܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܝܬ ܥܝܕܐ ܠܐܢܫ ܐܢܫ ܐܠܐ ܒܥܘ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܚܕ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܟܡܐ ܕܚܙܝܬܘܢ ܕܩܪܒ ܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ
wl' nhw' shbqyn knwshyn 'yk d'yth eyd' l'nsh 'nsh 'l' bew khd mn khd ythyr'yth km' dkhzythwn dqrb ywm' hw
not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܒܨܒܝܢܗ ܢܚܛܐ ܐܢܫ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܩܒܠ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܕܫܪܪܐ ܠܝܬ ܡܟܝܠ ܕܒܚܬܐ ܕܬܬܩܪܒ ܚܠܦ ܚܛܗܐ
'n gyr btsbynh nkhT' 'nsh mn bthr dqbl ydeth' dshrr' lyth mkyl dbkhth' dththqrb khlp khTh'
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,

ܐܠܐ ܥܬܝܕ ܗܘ ܕܝܢܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܘܛܢܢܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ ܕܐܟܠ ܠܒܥܠܕܒܒܐ
'l' ethyd hw dyn' dkhyl' wTnn' dnwr' d'kl lbeldbb'
but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

ܐܢ ܓܝܪ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܥܒܪ ܥܠ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܕܡܘܫܐ ܥܠ ܦܘܡ ܬܪܝܢ ܘܬܠܬܐ ܣܗܕܝܢ ܕܠܐ ܪܚܡܝܢ ܡܐܬ
'n gyr 'yn' debr el nmws' dmwsh' el pwm thryn wthlth' shdyn dl' rkhmyn m'th
A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.

ܟܡܐ ܣܒܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܡܣܡ ܒܪܫܐ ܢܩܒܠ ܐܝܢܐ ܕܕܫܗ ܠܒܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܚܫܒ ܕܡܐ ܕܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܕܟܠܢܫ ܕܒܗ ܐܬܩܕܫ ܘܨܥܪ ܠܪܘܚܐ ܕܛܝܒܘܬܐ
km' sbryn 'nthwn ythyr'yth msm brsh' nqbl 'yn' ddshh lbrh d'lh' wkhshb dm' ddythq' dylh 'yk dklnsh dbh 'thqdsh wtser lrwkh' dTybwth'
How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܠܗܘ ܕܐܡܪ ܕܕܝܠܝ ܗܝ ܬܒܥܬܐ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܦܪܘܥ ܘܬܘܒ ܕܢܕܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܥܡܗ
ydeynn lhw d'mr ddyly hy thbeth' w'n' 'prwe wthwb dndwn mry' lemh
For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”

ܕܚܠܬܐ ܗܝ ܪܒܬܐ ܠܡܦܠ ܒܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܚܝܐ

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

ܐܬܕܟܪܘ ܗܟܝܠ ܠܝܘܡܬܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܒܗܘܢ ܩܒܠܬܘܢ ܡܥܡܘܕܝܬܐ ܘܐܓܘܢܐ ܪܒܐ ܣܝܒܪܬܘܢ ܕܚܫܐ ܒܚܣܕܐ ܘܒܐܘܠܨܢܐ
'thdkrw hkyl lywmth' qdmy' hnwn dbhwn qblthwn memwdyth' w'gwn' rb' sybrthwn dkhsh' bkhsd' wb'wltsn'
But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;

ܘܕܗܘܝܬܘܢ ܚܙܘܢܐ ܘܐܦ ܐܫܬܘܬܦܬܘܢ ܠܐܢܫܐ ܕܗܠܝܢ ܣܝܒܪܘ
wdhwythwn khzwn' w'p 'shthwthpthwn l'nsh' dhlyn sybrw
partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so.

ܘܟܐܒ ܠܟܘܢ ܥܠ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܐܣܝܪܝܢ ܘܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܕܢܟܣܝܟܘܢ ܒܚܕܘܬܐ ܣܝܒܪܬܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܩܢܝܢܐ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܕܡܝܬܪ ܗܘ ܘܠܐ ܥܒܪ
wk'b lkwn el 'ylyn d'syryn wkhTwpy' dnksykwn bkhdwth' sybrthwn mTl dydeyn 'nthwn d'yth lkwn qnyn' bshmy' dmythr hw wl' ebr
For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens.

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܘܒܕܘܢ ܓܠܝܘܬ ܐܦܐ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܥܬܝܕ ܠܗ ܐܓܪܐ ܣܓܝܐܐ
l' hkyl thwbdwn glywth 'p' d'yth lkwn dethyd lh 'gr' sgy''
Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward.

ܡܣܝܒܪܢܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܬܒܥܝܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܕܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܨܒܝܢܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܬܣܒܘܢ ܡܘܠܟܢܐ
msybrnwth' hw gyr mthbey' lkwn dthebdwn tsbyn' d'lh' wthsbwn mwlkn'
For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
37
ܡܛܠ ܕܩܠܝܠ ܗܘ ܙܒܢܐ ܘܛܒ ܙܥܘܪ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܗܘ ܕܐܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܘܚܪ
mTl dqlyl hw zbn' wTb zewr dn'th' hw d'th' wl' nwkhr
“In a very little while,
he who comes will come, and will not wait.

ܟܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܝܠܝ ܢܚܐ ܘܐܢ ܡܬܩܛܥܐ ܠܗ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܐ ܒܗ ܢܦܫܝ
k'n' dyn mn hymnwth' dyly nkh' w'n mthqTe' lh l' tsby' bh npshy
But the righteous will live by faith.
If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39
ܚܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܢ ܕܩܘܛܥܐ ܕܡܘܒܠܐ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܕܡܩܢܝܐ ܠܢ ܢܦܫܢ
khnn dyn l' hwyn dqwTe' dmwbl' l'bdn' 'l' dhymnwth' dmqny' ln npshn
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.
