ܥܠ ܕܘܟܬܝ ܐܩܘܡ ܟܕ ܕܪܝܟ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܟܐܦܐ ܘܐܚܘܪ ܘܐܚܙܐ ܡܢܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܥܡܝ ܘܡܢܐ ܡܬܝܒ ܠܝ ܥܠ ܡܟܣܢܘܬܝ

I will stand at my watch and set myself on the ramparts, and will look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.

ܘܥܢܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܟܬܘܒ ܚܙܘܐ ܘܦܪܫ ܥܠ ܠܘܚ̈ܐ ܕܢܪܗܛ ܒܗ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܩܪܐ ܠܗ

Yahweh answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܙܘܐ ܠܙܒܢܗ ܗܘܐ ܘܐܬܐ ܩܨܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܟܕܒ ܘܐܢ ܡܘܚܪ ܠܐ ܬܬܩܛܥ ܠܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܥܓܠ ܐܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܘܚܪ
mwkhr wl' 'th' dbegl mTl lkwn ththqTe l' mwkhr w'n mkdb wl' qts' w'th' hw' lzbnh dkhzw' mTl
For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come. It won’t delay.

ܘܒܥ̇ܘܠܐ ܠܐ ܨܒܝܐ ܢܦܫܗ ܘܙܕܝܩܐ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܢܚܐ
nkh' bhymnwth' wzdyq' npshh tsby' l' wbewl'
Behold, his soul is puffed up. It is not upright in him, but the righteous will live by his faith.

ܘܓܒܪܐ ܡܪܚܐ ܘܝܥܢܐ ܠܐ ܣܒܥ ܕܐܦܬܝ ܢܦܫܗ ܐܝܟ ܫܝܘܠ ܘܠܐ ܣܒܥ ܐܝܟ ܡܘܬܐ ܟܢܫ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܩܪܒ ܠܘܬܗ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܐܡ̈ܘܬܐ
'mwth' klhyn lwthh wqrb emm' klhwn lwthh knsh mwth' 'yk sbe wl' shywl 'yk npshh d'pthy sbe l' wyen' mrkh' wgbr'
Yes, moreover, wine is treacherous: an arrogant man who doesn’t stay at home, who enlarges his desire as Sheol; he is like death and can’t be satisfied, but gathers to himself all nations and heaps to himself all peoples.

ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܡܬ̈ܠܐ ܢܣܒܘܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܦܠܐ̈ܬܐ ܘܐܘܚ̈ܕܬܐ ܘܢܐܡܪܘܢ ܘܝ ܠܕܡܟܢܫ ܡܣܓܐ ܠܗ ܕܠܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܡܥܫܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܥܢܢܐ ܕܣܝܢܐ
dsyn' enn' elwhy meshn l'mthy edm' dylh dl' lh msg' ldmknsh wy wn'mrwn w'wkhdth' wpl'th' elwhy nsbwn mthl' klhwn hlyn
Won’t all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases that which is not his, and who enriches himself by extortion! How long?’

ܗܐ ܡܢ ܫܠܝܐ ܢܩܘܡܘܢ ܡܢܟ̈ܬܢܝܟ ܘܢܬܬܥܝܪܘܢ ܡܙܥܙܥ̈ܢܝܟ ܘܬܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܒܙܬܐ
lbzth' lhwn wthhw' mzezenyk wnththeyrwn mnkthnyk nqwmwn shly' mn h'
Won’t your debtors rise up suddenly, and wake up those who make you tremble, and you will be their victim?

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܒܙܬ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܢܒܙܘܢܟ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܫܬܚܪܘ ܡܢ ܕܡܐ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܘܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇
emwryh wdklhwn dmdynth' d're' wkhTwpy' dbrnsh' dm' mn d'shthkhrw emm' nbzwnk sgy'' emm' bzth d'nth mTl
Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples will plunder you because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all who dwell in it.

ܘܝ ܠܕܥܠܒ ܘܡܟܢܫ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܠܢܦܫܗ ܘܣܐܡ ܩܢܗ ܒܪܘܡܐ ܕܢܬܦܨܐ ܡܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ
byshth' mn dnthpts' brwm' qnh ws'm lnpshh byshth' wmknsh ldelb wy
Woe to him who gets an evil gain for his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the hand of evil!

ܐܬܪܥܝܬ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܠܒܝܬܟ ܒܙܬ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܣ̈ܓܝܐܐ ܘܐܚܛܝܬ ܢܦܫܟ

You have devised shame to your house by cutting off many peoples, and have sinned against your soul.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܐܦܐ ܡܢ ܐܣܬܐ ܓܥܝܐ ܘܣܟܬܐ ܡܢ ܩܝܣܐ ܥܢܝܐ
eny' qys' mn wskth' gey' 'sth' mn dk'p' mTl
For the stone will cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the woodwork will answer it.

ܘܝ ܠܕܒܢܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܒܕܡܐ ܘܡܬܩܢ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܒܥܘ̣ܠܐ
bewl' qryth' wmthqn bdm' mdynth' ldbn' wy
Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity!

ܗܠܝܢ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܬܢܐ ܢܬܛܪܦܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܘܐ̈ܡܘܬܐ ܒܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܢܠܐܝ̈ܢ
nl'yn bsryqwth' w'mwth' bnwr' emm' nthTrpwn khylthn' mry' mn klhyn hlyn
Behold, isn’t it from Yahweh of Armies that the peoples labor for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity?

ܡܛܠ ܕܬܬܡܠܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܠܡܕܥ ܐܝܩܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܡܟܣܝܢ ܠܝܡܐ
lym' dmksyn my' 'yk dmry' 'yqrh lmde 're' dththml' mTl
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of Yahweh’s glory, as the waters cover the sea.

ܘܝ ܠܕܡܫܩܐ ܠܚܒܪܗ ܬܛܪܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܟ ܘܡܪܘܐ ܠܗ ܕܢܚܘܪ ܒܦܘܪܣܝܗܘܢ
bpwrsyhwn dnkhwr lh wmrw' drwgzk thTr' lkhbrh ldmshq' wy
“Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until they are drunk, so that you may gaze at their naked bodies!

ܣܒܥܬ ܨܥܪܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܩܪܐ ܐܫܬܝ ܐܦ ܐܢܬ ܘܐܬܛܪܦ ܢܗܦܘܟ ܥܠܝܟ ܟܣܐ ܕܝܡܝܢܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܨܥܪܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܩܪܟ
'yqrk el wtser' dmry' dymynh ks' elyk nhpwk w'thTrp 'nth 'p 'shthy 'yqr' mn tser' sbeth
You are filled with shame, and not glory. You will also drink and be exposed! The cup of Yahweh’s right hand will come around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܕܠܒܢܢ ܢܟܣܝܟ ܘܒܙܬܐ ܕܚܝܘܬܐ ܬܕܠܚܟ ܡܢ ܕܡܐ ܕܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇
emwryh wdklhwn dmdynth' d're' wkhTwpy' 'nsh' dbr dm' mn thdlkhk dkhywth' wbzth' nksyk dlbnn dkhTwpy' mTl
For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals will terrify you, because of men’s blood and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.

ܡܢܐ ܐܘܬܪ ܓܠܝܦܐ ܕܓܠܦܗ ܐܘܡܢܗ ܘܢܣܝܟܐ ܗܘ ܘܝܘܠܦܢܐ ܕܓܠܐ ܕܐܬܬܟܠ ܠܒܐ ܕܐܘܡܢܗ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܦܬܟܪܐ ܚܪܫܐ
khrsh' pthkr' lmebd elwhy d'wmnh lb' d'ththkl dgl' wywlpn' hw wnsyk' 'wmnh dglph glyp' 'wthr mn'
“What value does the engraved image have, that its maker has engraved it; the molten image, even the teacher of lies, that he who fashions its form trusts in it, to make mute idols?

ܘܝ ܠܕܐܡܪ ܠܩܝܣܐ ܐܬܬܥܝܪ ܘܠܟܐܦܐ ܚܪܫܬܐ ܕܩܘܡܝ ܣܪ̈ܝܩܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܩܪܝܡܝܢ ܘܪܘܚܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ
bhwn lyth wrwkh' qrymyn wdhb' 'nwn sryqyn dqwmy khrshth' wlk'p' 'ththeyr lqys' ld'mr wy
Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake!’ or to the mute stone, ‘Arise!’ Shall this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all within it.

ܘܡܪܝܐ ܒܗܝܟܠܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܗ ܬܙܘܥ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ

But Yahweh is in his holy temple. Let all the earth be silent before him!”
