מטל נבואתא דאתנבי חבקוק נביא:
nbya khbqwq dathnby nbwatha mTl
The revelation which Habakkuk the prophet saw.

עד אימתי יי אנא מצלי הלא גלי קדמך קבילנא קדמך על חטופין הלא יוכלא קדמך למפרק:
lmprq qdmk ywkla hla khTwpyn el qdmk qbylna qdmk gly hla mtsly ana yy aymthy ed
Yahweh, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?

למא אנא חזי אנוסין ומסתכיל כעבדי ליאות שקר בזוזין וחטופין לקבלי דבתחרותא ובזדונא אינון מתגברין:
mthgbryn aynwn wbzdwna dbthkhrwtha lqbly wkhTwpyn bzwzyn shqr lyawth kebdy wmsthkyl anwsyn khzy ana lma
Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

על כן פגת אוריתא ולא נפיק לאפרש דינא ארי רשיעיא מסלעמין לצדיקיא על כן לא נפיק דינא כיון:
kywn dyna npyq la kn el ltsdyqya mslemyn rshyeya ary dyna laprsh npyq wla awrytha pgth kn el
Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.

חזו בעממיא ואסתכלו אתרפו שוהו ארי עובדא אתעביד ביומיכון לא תהימנון ארי ישתעון לכון:
lkwn yshthewn ary thhymnwn la bywmykwn athebyd ewbda ary shwhw athrpw wasthklw bemmya khzw
“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe though it is told you.

ארי הא אנא מקים ית כסדאי עמא מוחיא וקלילא דאזיל לפתאי ארעא לאחסנא קרוין דלא דיליה:
dylyh dla qrwyn lakhsna area lpthay dazyl wqlyla mwkhya ema ksday yth mqym ana ha ary
For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation who march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

אימתנין ודחילין אינון מניה דיניה וגזרתיה נפקין:
npqyn wgzrthyh dynyh mnyh aynwn wdkhylyn aymthnyn
They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

וקלילין מנמריא סוסותיה וחריפין מדיבי רמשא וירבון פרשוהי ופרשוהי מרחיק דייתון משתדן כנשרא דטאיס למיכל:
lmykl dTays knshra mshthdn dyythwn mrkhyq wprshwhy prshwhy wyrbwn rmsha mdyby wkhrypyn swswthyh mnmrya wqlylyn
Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.

כולהון לחטוף אתן מקביל אפיהון דמן כרוח קדים קידומא וכנש כחלא שביא:
shbya kkhla wknsh qydwma qdym krwkh dmn apyhwn mqbyl athn lkhTwp kwlhwn
All of them come for violence. Their hordes face forward. They gather prisoners like sand.

והוא על מלכיא מתלעב ועל שלטוניא מחיך הוא לכל כרך תקיף מעיק וצבר מליתא וכבשה:
wkbshh mlytha wtsbr meyq thqyp krk lkl hwa mkhyk shlTwnya wel mthleb mlkya el whwa
Yes, they scoff at kings, and princes are a derision to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they build up an earthen ramp and take it.

בכן על דרמת רוחיה עלוהי עדא ממלכותיה וחב על דאסגי יקרא לטעותיה:
lTewthyh yqra dasgy el wkhb mmlkwthyh eda elwhy rwkhyh drmth el bkn
Then they sweep by like the wind and go on. They are indeed guilty, whose strength is their god.”

הלא את יי ברית עלמא מבראשית את אלהא דין קשוט על כל בריתך קדיש בעובדי הימנותא מימרך קים לעלמין יי למעבד דינא בריתיה ותקיף לאתפרעא אתקינתיה:
athqynthyh lathprea wthqyp brythyh dyna lmebd yy lelmyn qym mymrk hymnwtha bewbdy qdysh brythk kl el qshwT dyn alha ath mbrashyth elma bryth yy ath hla
Aren’t you from everlasting, Yahweh my God, my Holy One? We will not die. Yahweh, you have appointed them for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

בריר מימרך מלמחזי בעובדי ביש ומלאסתכלא בעבדי ליאות שקר הלא גלי קדמך ולמא את מסתכל באנסין ואת יהיב ארכא לרשיעיא ומסלעמין לדטבין מנהון:
mnhwn ldTbyn wmslemyn lrshyeya arka yhyb wath bansyn msthkl ath wlma qdmk gly hla shqr lyawth bebdy wmlasthkla bysh bewbdy mlmkhzy mymrk bryr
You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

ועבדתא אנשא כנוני ימא כריחשא דלית שולטן עלוהי:
elwhy shwlTn dlyth krykhsha yma knwny ansha webdtha
and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things that have no ruler over them?

כולהון דמן לצידין דאחיד נונא בחכתא כניש ליה בחרמיה ורמי ליה במצדתיה על כן חדי ודאיץ:
wdayts khdy kn el bmtsdthyh lyh wrmy bkhrmyh lyh knysh bkhktha nwna dakhyd ltsydyn dmn kwlhwn
He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.

על כן מדבח לזיניה ומסיק בוסמין לסמותיה ארי בהון טב מיכליה ושירותיה מטעמא:
mTema wshyrwthyh myklyh Tb bhwn ary lsmwthyh bwsmyn wmsyq lzynyh mdbkh kn el
Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious and his food is good.
