ܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܡܬܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܓܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܫܡܥ ܐܢܬ ܘܩܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܘܬܟ ܥܠ ܚ̈ܛܘܦܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܦܨܐ ܐܢܬ
edm' l'mthy mry' ge' 'n' wl' shme 'nth wqe' 'n' lwthk el khTwp' wl' mpts' 'nth
Yahweh, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save?

ܠܡܢܐ ܚܘܝܬܢܝ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܥܬܐ ܘܚܙܐ ܐܢܐ ܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܘܒܝܫܬܐ ܩܕܡܝ ܗܘܐ ܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܘܕܝ̇ܢܐ ܩܒܠ ܫܘܚܕܐ

Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܦܓ ܢܡܘܣܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܦܩ ܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܒܙܟܝܘܬܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܥ̇ܘܠܐ ܕܒܪ ܒܝܫ ܒܝܫ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܢܦܩ ܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܟܕ ܡܥܩܡ

Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice comes out perverted.

ܚܙܘ ܡܪ̈ܚܐ ܘܚܘܪܘ ܘܐܬܕܡܪܘ ܘܬܡܗܘ ܡܛܠ ܕܥܒܕܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܒܝ̈ܘܡܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܡܗܝܡܢܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܢ ܐܢܫ ܢܫܬܥܐ ܠܟܘܢ

“Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe though it is told you.

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܩܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ̈ܠܕܝܐ ܥܡܐ ܡܪܚܐ ܘܡܪܝܪܐ ܕܐܙܠ ܒܦܬܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܠܡܐܪܬ ܡܫ̈ܟܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܕܝܠܗ

For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation who march through the width of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not theirs.

ܥܫܝܢ ܗܘ ܘܕܚܝܠ ܘܕܝܢܗ ܡܢܗ ܘܚܙܘܗ ܡܦܩ
eshyn hw wdkhyl wdynh mnh wkhzwh mpq
They are feared and dreaded. Their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.

ܩ̈ܠܝܠܝܢ ܪ̈ܟܫܗ ܡܢ ܢܫܪ̈ܐ ܘܚܪ̈ܝܦܝܢ ܡܢ ܕܐ̈ܒܐ ܕܪܡܫܐ ܘܢܛܘܣܘܢ ܦܪ̈ܫܘܗܝ ܘܢܐܬܘܢ ܦܪ̈ܫܘܗܝ ܡܢ ܪܘܚܩܐ ܘܢܛܘܣܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܢܫܪܐ ܕܟܦܢ ܠܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ

Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. Their horsemen press proudly on. Yes, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܠܚܛܘܦܝܐ ܐܬܝܢ ܚܙܘܐ ܕܐ̈ܦܝܗܘܢ ܥܫܝܢ ܘܟܢܫܝܢ ܫܒܝܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܚܠܐ

All of them come for violence. Their hordes face forward. They gather prisoners like sand.

ܘܗܘ ܒܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܡܡܝܩ ܘܒܫ̈ܠܝܛܢܐ ܡܒܙܚ ܘܥܠ ܟܠ ܟܪ̈ܟܝܢ ܓܚܟ ܘܡܩܒܪ ܥܦܪܐ ܘܐܚܕ ܠܗ
whw bmlk' mmyq wbshlyTn' mbzkh wel kl krkyn gkhk wmqbr epr' w'khd lh
Yes, they scoff at kings, and princes are a derision to them. They laugh at every stronghold, for they build up an earthen ramp and take it.

ܗܝ ܕܝܢ ܬܚܠܦ ܪܘܚܗ ܘܬܥܒܪ ܘܢܬܚܝܒ ܚܝܠܗ ܠܐܠܗܗ
hy dyn thkhlp rwkhh wthebr wnthkhyb khylh l'lhh
Then they sweep by like the wind and go on. They are indeed guilty, whose strength is their god.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܢ ܪܫܝܬܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܡܘܣ ܐܢܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܣܡܬܝܗܝ ܠܕܝܢ̣ܐ ܘܓܒܠܬܢܝ ܠܡܟܣܘܬܗ

Aren’t you from everlasting, Yahweh my God, my Holy One? We will not die. Yahweh, you have appointed them for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.

ܕܟܝ̈ܢ ܐܢܝܢ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܘܠܐ ܚ̈ܙܝܢ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܘܠܡܚܪ ܒܥ̇ܘ̈ܠܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܟܚ ܐܢܬ ܠܡܢܐ ܚܐܪ ܐܢܬ ܒܡܪ̈ܚܐ ܘܫܬܝܩ ܐܢܬ ܟܕ ܒܠܥ ܥ̇ܘܠܐ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ
dkyn 'nyn eynyk wl' khzyn byshth' wlmkhr bewl' l' mshkkh 'nth lmn' kh'r 'nth bmrkh' wshthyq 'nth kd ble ewl' lzdyq'
You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,

ܘܥܒܕܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܢܘ̈ܢܐ ܕܒܝܡܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܪܚܫܐ ܕܠܝܬ ܠܗ ܡܕܒܪܢܐ

and make men like the fish of the sea, like the creeping things that have no ruler over them?

ܕܟܠܗ ܒܨܢܪܬܐ ܣܠܩ ܘܡܬܢܓܕ ܒܡܨܝܕܬܐ ܘܡܬܟܢܫ ܒܓܘܦܐ ܘܟܕ ܟܢܫ ܚܕܝ ܘܕܨ

He takes up all of them with the hook. He catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.

ܘܕܒܚ ܠܡܨܝܕܬܗ ܘܣܡ ܒܣ̈ܡܐ ܠܓܘܦܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܗܝܢ ܫܡܢܬ ܡܢܬܗ ܘܡܐܟܘܠܬܗ ܓܒܝܬܐ

Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious and his food is good.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܫܕܐ ܡܨܝܕܬܗ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܘܩܛܠ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܚܐܣ

Will he therefore continually empty his net, and kill the nations without mercy?
