ואדם ידע ית חוה אתתה ועדיאת וילידת ית קין ואמרת קניתי גברא קדם יי:
wadm yde yth khwh aththh wedyath wylydth yth qyn wamrth qnythy gbra qdm yy
The man knew Eve his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Cain, and said, “I have gotten a man with Yahweh’s help.”

ואוסיפת למילד ית אחוהי ית הבל והוה הבל רעי ענא וקין הוה פלח בארעא:
wawsypth lmyld yth akhwhy yth hbl whwh hbl rey ena wqyn hwh plkh barea
Again she gave birth, to Cain’s brother Abel. Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

והוה מסוף יומין ואיתי קין מאבא דארעא תקרובתא קדם יי:
whwh mswp ywmyn waythy qyn maba darea thqrwbtha qdm yy
As time passed, Cain brought an offering to Yahweh from the fruit of the ground.

והבל איתי אף הוא מבכירי ענה ומשמנהון והות רעוא מן קדם יי בהבל ובקורבנה:
whbl aythy ap hwa mbkyry enh wmshmnhwn whwth rewa mn qdm yy bhbl wbqwrbnh
Abel also brought some of the firstborn of his flock and of its fat. Yahweh respected Abel and his offering,

ובקין ובקורבנה לא הות רעוא ותקף לקין לחדא ואתכבישו אפוהי:
wbqyn wbqwrbnh la hwth rewa wthqp lqyn lkhda wathkbyshw apwhy
but he didn’t respect Cain and his offering. Cain was very angry, and the expression on his face fell.

ואמר יי לקין למא תקיף לך ולמא אתכבישו אפיך:
wamr yy lqyn lma thqyp lk wlma athkbyshw apyk
Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why has the expression of your face fallen?

הלא אם תוטיב עובדך ישתבק לך ואם לא תוטיב עובדך ליום דינא חטאך נטיר דיעתיד לאתפרעא מנך אם לא תתוב ואם תתוב ישתבק לך:
hla am thwTyb ewbdk yshthbq lk wam la thwTyb ewbdk lywm dyna khTak nTyr dyethyd lathprea mnk am la ththwb wam ththwb yshthbq lk
If you do well, won’t it be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”

ואמר קין להבל אחוהי והוה במהויהון בחקלא וקם קין על הבל אחוהי וקטלה:
wamr qyn lhbl akhwhy whwh bmhwyhwn bkhqla wqm qyn el hbl akhwhy wqTlh
Cain said to Abel, his brother, “Let’s go into the field.” While they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.

ואמר יי לקין אן הבל אחוך ואמר לא ידענא הנטר אחי אנא:
wamr yy lqyn an hbl akhwk wamr la ydena hnTr akhy ana
Yahweh said to Cain, “Where is Abel, your brother?” He said, “I don’t know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

ואמר מה עבדתא קל דם זרעין דעתידין למפק מן אחוך קבלין קדמי מן ארעא:
wamr mh ebdtha ql dm zreyn dethydyn lmpq mn akhwk qblyn qdmy mn area
Yahweh said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries to me from the ground.

וכען ליט את מן ארעא דפתחת ית פומה וקבילת ית דמה דאחוך מן ידך:
wken lyT ath mn area dpthkhth yth pwmh wqbylth yth dmh dakhwk mn ydk
Now you are cursed because of the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

ארי תפלח בארעא לא תוסיף למתן חילה לך מטלטל וגלי תהא בארעא:
ary thplkh barea la thwsyp lmthn khylh lk mTlTl wgly thha barea
From now on, when you till the ground, it won’t yield its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth.”

ואמר קין קדם יי סגי חובי מלמשבק:
wamr qyn qdm yy sgy khwby mlmshbq
Cain said to Yahweh, “My punishment is greater than I can bear.

הא תריכתא יתי יומא דין מעל אפי ארעא ומן קדמך לית אפשר לאטמרא ואהי מטלטל וגלי בארעא ויהי כל דישכחנני יקטלינני:
ha thryktha ythy ywma dyn mel apy area wmn qdmk lyth apshr laTmra wahy mTlTl wgly barea wyhy kl dyshkkhnny yqTlynny
Behold, you have driven me out today from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. Whoever finds me will kill me.”

ואמר לה יי בכן כל קטיל קין לשבעא דרין יתפרע מנה ושוי יי לקין אתא בדיל דלא למקטל יתה כל דישכחנה:
wamr lh yy bkn kl qTyl qyn lshbea dryn ythpre mnh wshwy yy lqyn atha bdyl dla lmqTl ythh kl dyshkkhnh
Yahweh said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone finding him would not strike him.

ונפק קין מן קדם יי ויתיב בארעא גלי ומטלטל דהוה עבידא עלוהי מלקדמין דגינתא דעדן:
wnpq qyn mn qdm yy wythyb barea gly wmTlTl dhwh ebyda elwhy mlqdmyn dgyntha dedn
Cain left Yahweh’s presence, and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

וידע קין ית אתתה ועדיאת וילידת ית חנוך והוה בני קרתא וקרא שמא דקרתא כשום ברה חנוך:
wyde qyn yth aththh wedyath wylydth yth khnwk whwh bny qrtha wqra shma dqrtha kshwm brh khnwk
Cain knew his wife. She conceived, and gave birth to Enoch. He built a city, and named the city after the name of his son, Enoch.

ואתיליד לחנוך ית עירד ועירד אוליד ית מחויאל ומחייאל אוליד ית מתושאל ומתושאל אוליד ית למך:
wathylyd lkhnwk yth eyrd weyrd awlyd yth mkhwyal wmkhyyal awlyd yth mthwshal wmthwshal awlyd yth lmk
Irad was born to Enoch. Irad became the father of Mehujael. Mehujael became the father of Methushael. Methushael became the father of Lamech.

ונסיב לה למך תרתין נשין שום חדא עדה ושום תניתא צלה:
wnsyb lh lmk thrthyn nshyn shwm khda edh wshwm thnytha tslh
Lamech took two wives: the name of the first one was Adah, and the name of the second one was Zillah.

וילידת עדה ית יבל הוא הוה רבהון דיתבי משכנין ומרי בעיר:
wylydth edh yth ybl hwa hwh rbhwn dythby mshknyn wmry beyr
Adah gave birth to Jabal, who was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock.

ושום אחוהי יובל הוא הוה רבהון דכל דמנגן על פום נבלא ידעי זמר כנורא ואבובא:
wshwm akhwhy ywbl hwa hwh rbhwn dkl dmngn el pwm nbla ydey zmr knwra wabwba
His brother’s name was Jubal, who was the father of all who handle the harp and pipe.

וצלה אף היא ילידת ית תובל קין רבהון דכל דידעי עיבידת נחשא ופרזלא ואחתה דתובל קין נעמה:
wtslh ap hya ylydth yth thwbl qyn rbhwn dkl dydey eybydth nkhsha wprzla wakhthh dthwbl qyn nemh
Zillah also gave birth to Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of bronze and iron. Tubal Cain’s sister was Naamah.

ואמר למך לנשוהי עדה וצלה שמען קלי נשי למך אציתא לממרי לא גברא קטלית דבדילה אנא סביל חובין ואף לא עולימא חבלית דבדילה ישתיצי זרעי:
wamr lmk lnshwhy edh wtslh shmen qly nshy lmk atsytha lmmry la gbra qTlyth dbdylh ana sbyl khwbyn wap la ewlyma khblyth dbdylh yshthytsy zrey
Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice. You wives of Lamech, listen to my speech, for I have slain a man for wounding me, a young man for bruising me.

ארי שבעא דרין איתלאו לקין הלא ללמך ברה שבעין ושבעא:
ary shbea dryn aythlaw lqyn hla llmk brh shbeyn wshbea
If Cain will be avenged seven times, truly Lamech seventy-seven times.”

וידע אדם עוד ית אתתה וילידת בר וקרת ית שמה שת ארי אמרת יהב לי יי בר אוחרן חלף הבל דקטלה קין:
wyde adm ewd yth aththh wylydth br wqrth yth shmh shth ary amrth yhb ly yy br awkhrn khlp hbl dqTlh qyn
Adam knew his wife again. She gave birth to a son, and named him Seth, saying, “for God has given me another child instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.”

ולשת אף הוא אתיליד בר וקרא ית שמה אנוש בכן ביומוהי חלו בני אנשא מלצלאה בשמא דיי:
wlshth ap hwa athylyd br wqra yth shmh anwsh bkn bywmwhy khlw bny ansha mltslah bshma dyy
A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on Yahweh’s name.
