והוה בתר פתגמיא האלין ואמר ליוסף הא אבוך שכיב מרע ודבר ית תרין בנוהי עמיה ית מנשה וית אפרים:
whwh bthr pthgmya halyn wamr lywsp ha abwk shkyb mre wdbr yth thryn bnwhy emyh yth mnshh wyth aprym
After these things, someone said to Joseph, “Behold, your father is sick.” He took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

וחוי ליעקב ואמר הא ברך יוסף אתא לותך ואתקף ישראל ויתיב על ערסא:
wkhwy lyeqb wamr ha brk ywsp atha lwthk wathqp yshral wythyb el ersa
Someone told Jacob, and said, “Behold, your son Joseph comes to you,” and Israel strengthened himself, and sat on the bed.

ואמר יעקב ליוסף אל שדי אתגלי לי בלוז בארעא דכנען ובריך יתי:
wamr yeqb lywsp al shdy athgly ly blwz barea dknen wbryk ythy
Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

ואמר לי הא אנא מפיש לך ואסגנך ואתננך לכנשת שבטין ואתן ית ארעא הדא לבנך בתרך אחסנת עלם:
wamr ly ha ana mpysh lk wasgnk wathnnk lknshth shbTyn wathn yth area hda lbnk bthrk akhsnth elm
and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your offspring after you for an everlasting possession.’

וכען תרין בנך דאתילידו לך בארעא דמצרים עד מיתי לותך למצרים דילי אנון אפרים ומנשה כראובן ושמעון יהון קדמי:
wken thryn bnk dathylydw lk barea dmtsrym ed mythy lwthk lmtsrym dyly anwn aprym wmnshh krawbn wshmewn yhwn qdmy
Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you into Egypt, are mine; Ephraim and Manasseh, even as Reuben and Simeon, will be mine.

ובנך די תוליד בתריהון דילך יהון על שום אחוהון יתקרון באחסנתהון:
wbnk dy thwlyd bthryhwn dylk yhwn el shwm akhwhwn ythqrwn bakhsnthhwn
Your offspring, whom you become the father of after them, will be yours. They will be called after the name of their brothers in their inheritance.

ואנא במיתי מפדן מיתת עלי רחל בארעא דכנען בארחא בעוד כרובא דארעא למיעל לאפרת וקברתה תמן בארח אפרת היא בית לחם:
wana bmythy mpdn mythth ely rkhl barea dknen barkha bewd krwba darea lmyel laprth wqbrthh thmn barkh aprth hya byth lkhm
As for me, when I came from Paddan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when there was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (also called Bethlehem).”

וחזא ישראל ית בני יוסף ואמר מן אלין:
wkhza yshral yth bny ywsp wamr mn alyn
Israel saw Joseph’s sons, and said, “Who are these?”

ואמר יוסף לאבוהי בני אנון דיהב לי יי הכא ואמר קרבנון כען לותי ואברכנון:
wamr ywsp labwhy bny anwn dyhb ly yy hka wamr qrbnwn ken lwthy wabrknwn
Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” He said, “Please bring them to me, and I will bless them.”

ועיני ישראל יקרן מסיבו לא יכול למחזי וקריב יתהון לותיה ונשיק להון וגפיף להון:
weyny yshral yqrn msybw la ykwl lmkhzy wqryb ythhwn lwthyh wnshyq lhwn wgpyp lhwn
Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he couldn’t see well. Joseph brought them near to him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.

ואמר ישראל ליוסף למחזי אפיך לא סברית והא אחזי יתי יי אף ית בנך:
wamr yshral lywsp lmkhzy apyk la sbryth wha akhzy ythy yy ap yth bnk
Israel said to Joseph, “I didn’t think I would see your face, and behold, God has let me see your offspring also.”

ואפיק יוסף יתהון מן קדמוהי וסגיד על אפוהי על ארעא:
wapyq ywsp ythhwn mn qdmwhy wsgyd el apwhy el area
Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.

ודבר יוסף ית תרויהון ית אפרים בימיניה מסמאלא דישראל וית מנשה בסמאליה מימינא דישראל וקריב לותיה:
wdbr ywsp yth thrwyhwn yth aprym bymynyh msmala dyshral wyth mnshh bsmalyh mymyna dyshral wqryb lwthyh
Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel’s left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel’s right hand, and brought them near to him.

ואושיט ישראל ית ימיניה ושוי על רישא דאפרים והוא זעירא וית סמאליה על רישא דמנשה אחכימנון לידוהי ארי מנשה בוכרא:
wawshyT yshral yth ymynyh wshwy el rysha daprym whwa zeyra wyth smalyh el rysha dmnshh akhkymnwn lydwhy ary mnshh bwkra
Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it on Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.

ובריך ית יוסף ואמר יי די פלחו אבהתי קדמוהי אברהם ויצחק יי דזן יתי מדאיתני עד יומא הדין:
wbryk yth ywsp wamr yy dy plkhw abhthy qdmwhy abrhm wytskhq yy dzn ythy mdaythny ed ywma hdyn
He blessed Joseph, and said, “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,

מלאכא די פרק יתי מכל בישא יברך ית עולימיא ויתקרי בהון שמי ושום אבהתי אברהם ויצחק וכנוני ימא יסגון בגו בני אנשא על ארעא:
mlaka dy prq ythy mkl bysha ybrk yth ewlymya wythqry bhwn shmy wshwm abhthy abrhm wytskhq wknwny yma ysgwn bgw bny ansha el area
the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude upon the earth.”

וחזא יוסף ארי שוי אבוהי יד ימיניה על רישא דאפרים ובאיש בעינוהי וסעד ידא דאבוהי לאעדאה יתה מעל רישא דאפרים לאנחותה על רישא דמנשה:
wkhza ywsp ary shwy abwhy yd ymynyh el rysha daprym wbaysh beynwhy wsed yda dabwhy laedah ythh mel rysha daprym lankhwthh el rysha dmnshh
When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him. He held up his father’s hand, to remove it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head.

ואמר יוסף לאבוהי לא כן אבא ארי דין בוכרא שו ימינך על רישיה:
wamr ywsp labwhy la kn aba ary dyn bwkra shw ymynk el ryshyh
Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn. Put your right hand on his head.”

וסריב אבוהי ואמר ידענא ברי ידענא אף הוא יהי לעמא ואף הוא יסגי וברם אחוהי זעירא יסגי מניה ובנוהי יהון שליטין בעממיא:
wsryb abwhy wamr ydena bry ydena ap hwa yhy lema wap hwa ysgy wbrm akhwhy zeyra ysgy mnyh wbnwhy yhwn shlyTyn bemmya
His father refused, and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people, and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his offspring will become a multitude of nations.”

ובריכנון ביומא ההוא למימר בך יברך ישראל למימר ישוינך יי כאפרים וכמנשה ושוי ית אפרים קדם מנשה:
wbryknwn bywma hhwa lmymr bk ybrk yshral lmymr yshwynk yy kaprym wkmnshh wshwy yth aprym qdm mnshh
He blessed them that day, saying, “Israel will bless in your name, saying, ‘God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh’” He set Ephraim before Manasseh.

ואמר ישראל ליוסף הא אנא מאית ויהי מימרא דיי בסעדכון ויתיב יתכון לארעא דאבהתכון:
wamr yshral lywsp ha ana mayth wyhy mymra dyy bsedkwn wythyb ythkwn larea dabhthkwn
Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you, and bring you again to the land of your fathers.

ואנא יהבית לך חולק חד יתיר על אחיך די נסיבית מידא דאמוראה בצלותי ובבעותי:
wana yhbyth lk khwlq khd ythyr el akhyk dy nsybyth myda damwrah btslwthy wbbewthy
Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.”
