ונטל ישראל וכל די ליה ואתא לבאר שבע ודבח דבחין לאלהה אבוהי יצחק:

Israel traveled with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.

ואמר יי לישראל בחזוי דליליא ואמר יעקב יעקב ואמר הא אנא:
wamr yy lyshral bkhzwy dlylya wamr yeqb yeqb wamr ha ana
God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” He said, “Here I am.”

ואמר אנא אל אלהא דאבוך לא תדחל מלמיחת למצרים ארי לעם סגי אשונך תמן:
wamr ana al alha dabwk la thdkhl mlmykhth lmtsrym ary lem sgy ashwnk thmn
He said, “I am God, the God of your father. Don’t be afraid to go down into Egypt, for there I will make of you a great nation.

אנא אחות עמך למצרים ואנא אסקנך אף אסקא ויוסף ישוי ידוהי על עיניך:
ana akhwth emk lmtsrym wana asqnk ap asqa wywsp yshwy ydwhy el eynyk
I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Joseph’s hand will close your eyes.”

וקם יעקב מבארא דשבע ונטלו בני ישראל ית יעקב אבוהון וית טפלהון וית נשיהון בעגלתא די שלח פרעה למטל יתיה:
wqm yeqb mbara dshbe wnTlw bny yshral yth yeqb abwhwn wyth Tplhwn wyth nshyhwn begltha dy shlkh preh lmTl ythyh
Jacob rose up from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

ודברו ית גיתיהון וית קנינהון די קנו בארעא דכנען ואתו למצרים יעקב וכל בנוהי עמיה:
wdbrw yth gythyhwn wyth qnynhwn dy qnw barea dknen wathw lmtsrym yeqb wkl bnwhy emyh
They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt—Jacob, and all his offspring with him,

בנוהי ובני בנוהי עמיה בנתיה ובנת בנוהי וכל זרעיה אעיל עמיה למצרים:
bnwhy wbny bnwhy emyh bnthyh wbnth bnwhy wkl zreyh aeyl emyh lmtsrym
his sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and he brought all his offspring with him into Egypt.

ואלין שמהת בני ישראל דעלו למצרים יעקב ובנוהי בוכרא דיעקב ראובן:
walyn shmhth bny yshral delw lmtsrym yeqb wbnwhy bwkra dyeqb rawbn
These are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.

ובני ראובן חנוך ופלוא וחצרן וכרמי:
wbny rawbn khnwk wplwa wkhtsrn wkrmy
The sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

ובני שמעון ימואל וימין ואהד ויכין וצחר ושאול בר כנעניתא:
wbny shmewn ymwal wymyn wahd wykyn wtskhr wshawl br knenytha
The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.

ובני לוי גרשון קהת ומררי:
wbny lwy grshwn qhth wmrry
The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

ובני יהודה ער ואונן ושלה ופרץ וזרח ומית ער ואונן בארעא דכנען והוו בני פרץ חצרן וחמול:
wbny yhwdh er wawnn wshlh wprts wzrkh wmyth er wawnn barea dknen whww bny prts khtsrn wkhmwl
The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

ובני יששכר תולע ופוה ויוב ושמרון:
wbny yshshkr thwle wpwh wywb wshmrwn
The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Iob, and Shimron.

ובני זבלון סרד ואלון ויחלאל:
wbny zblwn srd walwn wykhlal
The sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

אלין בני לאה דילידת ליעקב בפדן ארם וית דינה ברתה כל נפש בנוהי ובנתיה תלתין ותלת:
alyn bny lah dylydth lyeqb bpdn arm wyth dynh brthh kl npsh bnwhy wbnthyh thlthyn wthlth
These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.

ובני גד צפיון וחגי שוני ואצבון ערי וארודי ואראלי:
wbny gd tspywn wkhgy shwny watsbwn ery warwdy waraly
The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.

ובני אשר ימנה וישוה וישוי ובריעה ושרח אחתהון ובני בריעה חבר ומלכיאל:
wbny ashr ymnh wyshwh wyshwy wbryeh wshrkh akhthhwn wbny bryeh khbr wmlkyal
The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and Serah their sister. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.

אלין בני זלפה דיהב לבן ללאה ברתיה וילידת ית אלין ליעקב שית עשרי נפשא:
alyn bny zlph dyhb lbn llah brthyh wylydth yth alyn lyeqb shyth eshry npsha
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah, his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls.

בני רחל אתת יעקב יוסף ובנימן:
bny rkhl athth yeqb ywsp wbnymn
The sons of Rachel, Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.

ואתילידו ליוסף בארעא דמצרים דילידת לה אסנת בת פוטי פרע רבא דאון ית מנשה וית אפרים:
wathylydw lywsp barea dmtsrym dylydth lh asnth bth pwTy pre rba dawn yth mnshh wyth aprym
To Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, bore to him.

ובני בנימן בלע ובכר ואשבל גרא ונעמן אחי וראש מפים וחפים וארד:
wbny bnymn ble wbkr washbl gra wnemn akhy wrash mpym wkhpym ward
The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.

אלין בני רחל דאתילידו ליעקב כל נפשא ארבעה עשר:
alyn bny rkhl dathylydw lyeqb kl npsha arbeh eshr
These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.

ובני נפתלי יחצאל וגוני ויצר ושלם:
wbny npthly ykhtsal wgwny wytsr wshlm
The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.
25
אלין בני בלהה דיהב לבן לרחל ברתיה וילידת ית אלין ליעקב כל נפשא שבעא:
alyn bny blhh dyhb lbn lrkhl brthyh wylydth yth alyn lyeqb kl npsha shbea
These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel, his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob: all the souls were seven.

כל נפשא דעלא ליעקב למצרים נפקי ירכיה בר מנשי בני יעקב כל נפשתא שתין ושית:
kl npsha dela lyeqb lmtsrym npqy yrkyh br mnshy bny yeqb kl npshtha shthyn wshyth
All the souls who came with Jacob into Egypt, who were his direct offspring, in addition to Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were sixty-six.

ובני יוסף די אתילידו ליה במצרים נפשתא תרין כל נפשתא לבית יעקב דעלו למצרים שבעין:
wbny ywsp dy athylydw lyh bmtsrym npshtha thryn kl npshtha lbyth yeqb delw lmtsrym shbeyn
The sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob, who came into Egypt, were seventy.

וית יהודה שלח קדמוהי לות יוסף לפנאה קדמוהי לגשן ואתו לארעא דגשן:
wyth yhwdh shlkh qdmwhy lwth ywsp lpnah qdmwhy lgshn wathw larea dgshn
Jacob sent Judah before him to Joseph, to show the way before him to Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen.

וטקיס יוסף רתכוהי וסליק לקדמות ישראל אבוהי לגשן ואתגלי ליה ונפל על צוריה ובכא על צוריה עוד:
wTqys ywsp rthkwhy wslyq lqdmwth yshral abwhy lgshn wathgly lyh wnpl el tswryh wbka el tswryh ewd
Joseph prepared his chariot, and went up to meet Israel, his father, in Goshen. He presented himself to him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.

ואמר ישראל ליוסף אלו אנא מית זמנא הדא מנחם אנא בתר דחזיתי ית אפיך ארי עד כען את קים:
wamr yshral lywsp alw ana myth zmna hda mnkhm ana bthr dkhzythy yth apyk ary ed ken ath qym
Israel said to Joseph, “Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”

ואמר יוסף לאחוהי ולבית אבוהי אסק ואחוי לפרעה ואימר ליה אחי ובית אבא די בארעא דכנען עלו לותי:
wamr ywsp lakhwhy wlbyth abwhy asq wakhwy lpreh waymr lyh akhy wbyth aba dy barea dknen elw lwthy
Joseph said to his brothers, and to his father’s house, “I will go up, and speak with Pharaoh, and will tell him, ‘My brothers, and my father’s house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come to me.

וגבריא רעי ענא ארי גברי מרי גיתי הוו וענהון ותורהון וכל די להון איתיאו:
wgbrya rey ena ary gbry mry gythy hww wenhwn wthwrhwn wkl dy lhwn aythyaw
These men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of livestock, and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.’
33
ויהי ארי יקרי לכון פרעה ויימר מה עובדיכון:
wyhy ary yqry lkwn preh wyymr mh ewbdykwn
It will happen, when Pharaoh summons you, and will say, ‘What is your occupation?’

ותימרון גברי מרי גיתי הוו עבדיך מעולמנא ועד כען אף אנחנא אף אבהתנא בדיל די תיתבון בארעא דגשן ארי מרחקין מצראי כל רעי ענא:
wthymrwn gbry mry gythy hww ebdyk mewlmna wed ken ap ankhna ap abhthna bdyl dy thythbwn barea dgshn ary mrkhqyn mtsray kl rey ena
that you shall say, ‘Your servants have been keepers of livestock from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers:’ that you may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”
