וזקף יעקב עינוהי וחזא והא עשו אתא ועמיה ארבע מאה גברין ופליג ית בניא על לאה ועל רחל ועל תרתין לחינתא:
wzqp yeqb eynwhy wkhza wha eshw atha wemyh arbe mah gbryn wplyg yth bnya el lah wel rkhl wel thrthyn lkhyntha
Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. He divided the children between Leah, Rachel, and the two servants.

ושוי ית לחינתא וית בניהן קדמאין וית לאה ובנהא בתראין וית רחל וית יוסף בתראין:
wshwy yth lkhyntha wyth bnyhn qdmayn wyth lah wbnha bthrayn wyth rkhl wyth ywsp bthrayn
He put the servants and their children in front, Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph at the rear.

והוא עבר קדמיהון וסגיד על ארעא שבע זמנין עד מקרביה עד אחוהי:
whwa ebr qdmyhwn wsgyd el area shbe zmnyn ed mqrbyh ed akhwhy
He himself passed over in front of them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

ורהט עשו לקדמותיה וגפפיה ונפל על צואריה ונשקיה ובכו:

Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, fell on his neck, kissed him, and they wept.

וזקף ית עינוהי וחזא ית נשיא וית בניא ואמר מן אלין לך ואמר בניא די חס יי ית עבדך:
wzqp yth eynwhy wkhza yth nshya wyth bnya wamr mn alyn lk wamr bnya dy khs yy yth ebdk
He lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, “Who are these with you?” He said, “The children whom God has graciously given your servant.”

וקריבת לחינתא אנין ובניהן וסגידא:

Then the servants came near with their children, and they bowed themselves.

וקריבא אף לאה ובנהא וסגידו ובתר כן קריב יוסף ורחל וסגידו:
wqryba ap lah wbnha wsgydw wbthr kn qryb ywsp wrkhl wsgydw
Leah also and her children came near, and bowed themselves. After them, Joseph came near with Rachel, and they bowed themselves.

ואמר מן לך כל משריתא הדין די ערעית ואמר לאשכחא רחמין בעיני רבוני:
wamr mn lk kl mshrytha hdyn dy ereyth wamr lashkkha rkhmyn beyny rbwny
Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” Jacob said, “To find favor in the sight of my lord.”

ואמר עשו אית לי סגי אחי אצלח בדילך:

Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; let that which you have be yours.”

ואמר יעקב בבעו אם כען אשכחית רחמין בעיניך ותקבל תקרבתי מן ידי ארי על כן חזתנון לאפיך כחיזו אפי רברביא ואתרעית לי:
wamr yeqb bbew am ken ashkkhyth rkhmyn beynyk wthqbl thqrbthy mn ydy ary el kn khzthnwn lapyk kkhyzw apy rbrbya wathreyth ly
Jacob said, “Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

קבל כען ית תקרבתי דאתותיאת לך ארי רחים עלי יי וארי אית לי כלא ואתקף ביה וקביל:
qbl ken yth thqrbthy dathwthyath lk ary rkhym ely yy wary ayth ly kla wathqp byh wqbyl
Please take the gift that I brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” He urged him, and he took it.

ואמר נטל וניהך ואיהך לקבלך:

Esau said, “Let’s take our journey, and let’s go, and I will go before you.”

ואמר ליה רבוני ידע ארי ינקיא רכיכין וענא ותורי מינקתא עלי ודחוקנון יומא חד וימותון כל ענא:
wamr lyh rbwny yde ary ynqya rkykyn wena wthwry mynqtha ely wdkhwqnwn ywma khd wymwthwn kl ena
Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young, and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.

יעבר כען רבוני קדם עבדיה ואנא אדבר בניח לרגל עובדתא די קדמי ולרגל ינקיא עד די אעול לות רבוני לשעיר:
yebr ken rbwny qdm ebdyh wana adbr bnykh lrgl ewbdtha dy qdmy wlrgl ynqya ed dy aewl lwth rbwny lsheyr
Please let my lord pass over before his servant, and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the livestock that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.”

ואמר עשו אשבוק כען עמך מן עמא דעמי ואמר למא דנן אשכח רחמין בעיני רבוני:
wamr eshw ashbwq ken emk mn ema demy wamr lma dnn ashkkh rkhmyn beyny rbwny
Esau said, “Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me.” He said, “Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”

ותב ביומא ההוא עשו לארחיה לשעיר:

So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

ויעקב נטל לסכות ובנא ליה ביתא ולבעיריה עבד מטלן על כן קרא שמא דאתרא סכות:
wyeqb nTl lskwth wbna lyh bytha wlbeyryh ebd mTln el kn qra shma dathra skwth
Jacob traveled to Succoth, built himself a house, and made shelters for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.

ואתא יעקב שלים קרתא דשכם די בארעא דכנען במיתיה מפדן דארם ושרא לקבל קרתא:
watha yeqb shlym qrtha dshkm dy barea dknen bmythyh mpdn darm wshra lqbl qrtha
Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Paddan Aram; and encamped before the city.

וזבן ית אחסנת חקלא די פרס תמן משכניה מידא דבני חמור אבוהי דשכם במאה חורפן:
wzbn yth akhsnth khqla dy prs thmn mshknyh myda dbny khmwr abwhy dshkm bmah khwrpn
He bought the parcel of ground where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for one hundred pieces of money.

ואקם תמן מדבחא ופלח עלוהי קדם אל אלהא דישראל:
waqm thmn mdbkha wplkh elwhy qdm al alha dyshral
He erected an altar there, and called it El Elohe Israel.
