והוה בתר פתגמיא האלין ויי נסי ית אברהם ואמר ליה אברהם ואמר הא אנא:
whwh bthr pthgmya halyn wyy nsy yth abrhm wamr lyh abrhm wamr ha ana
After these things, God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”

ואמר דבר כען ית ברך ית יחידך די רחמת ית יצחק ואיזל לך לארעא פולחנא ואסקיה קדמי תמן לעלתא על חד מן טוריא די אימר לך:
wamr dbr ken yth brk yth ykhydk dy rkhmth yth ytskhq wayzl lk larea pwlkhna wasqyh qdmy thmn leltha el khd mn Twrya dy aymr lk
He said, “Now take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.”

ואקדים אברהם בצפרא וזרז ית חמריה ודבר ית תרין עולימוהי עמיה וית יצחק בריה וצלח אעי לעלתא וקם ואזל לאתרא די אמר ליה יי:
waqdym abrhm btspra wzrz yth khmryh wdbr yth thryn ewlymwhy emyh wyth ytskhq bryh wtslkh aey leltha wqm wazl lathra dy amr lyh yy
Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his donkey; and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son. He split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.

ביומא תליתאה וזקף אברהם ית עינוהי וחזא ית אתרא מרחיק:
bywma thlythah wzqp abrhm yth eynwhy wkhza yth athra mrkhyq
On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place far off.

ואמר אברהם לעולימוהי אוריכו לכון הכא עם חמרא ואנא ועולימא נתמטי עד כא ונסגוד ונתוב לותכון:
wamr abrhm lewlymwhy awrykw lkwn hka em khmra wana wewlyma nthmTy ed ka wnsgwd wnthwb lwthkwn
Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey. The boy and I will go over there. We will worship, and come back to you.”

ונסיב אברהם ית אעי דעלתא ושוי על יצחק בריה ונסיב בידיה ית אשתא וית סכינא ואזלו תרויהון בתרא :
wnsyb abrhm yth aey deltha wshwy el ytskhq bryh wnsyb bydyh yth ashtha wyth skyna wazlw thrwyhwn bthra
Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. He took in his hand the fire and the knife. They both went together.

ואמר יצחק לאברהם אבוהי ואמר אבא ואמר הא אנא ברי ואמר הא אשתא ואעיא ואן אימרא לעלתא:
wamr ytskhq labrhm abwhy wamr aba wamr ha ana bry wamr ha ashtha waeya wan aymra leltha
Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, “My father?” He said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Here is the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?”

ואמר אברהם קדם יי גלי ליה אימרא לעלתא ברי ואזלו תרויהון כחדא:
wamr abrhm qdm yy gly lyh aymra leltha bry wazlw thrwyhwn kkhda
Abraham said, “God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together.

ואתו לאתרא די אמר ליה יי ובנא תמן אברהם ית מדבחא וסדר ית אעיא ועקד ית יצחק בריה ושוי יתיה על מדבחא עיל מן אעיא:
wathw lathra dy amr lyh yy wbna thmn abrhm yth mdbkha wsdr yth aeya weqd yth ytskhq bryh wshwy ythyh el mdbkha eyl mn aeya
They came to the place which God had told him of. Abraham built the altar there, and laid the wood in order, bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood.

ואושיט אברהם ית ידיה ונסיב ית סכינא למיכס ית בריה:
wawshyT abrhm yth ydyh wnsyb yth skyna lmyks yth bryh
Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.

וקרא ליה מלאכא דיי מן שמיא ואמר אברהם אברהם ואמר הא אנא:
wqra lyh mlaka dyy mn shmya wamr abrhm abrhm wamr ha ana
Yahweh’s angel called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”

ואמר לא תושיט ידך לעולימא ולא תעבד ליה מדעם ארי כען ידענא ארי דחלא דיי את ולא מנעת ית ברך ית יחידך מני:
wamr la thwshyT ydk lewlyma wla thebd lyh mdem ary ken ydena ary dkhla dyy ath wla mneth yth brk yth ykhydk mny
He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

וזקף אברהם ית עינוהי בתר אלין וחזא והא דכרא בתר אחיד באילנא בקרנוהי ואזל אברהם ונסיב ית דכרא ואסקיה לעלתא חלף בריה:
wzqp abrhm yth eynwhy bthr alyn wkhza wha dkra bthr akhyd baylna bqrnwhy wazl abrhm wnsyb yth dkra wasqyh leltha khlp bryh
Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

ופלח וצלי אברהם תמן באתרא ההוא ואמר קדם יי הכא יהון פלחן דריא בכן יתאמר ביומא הדין בטורא הדין אברהם קדם יי פלח:
wplkh wtsly abrhm thmn bathra hhwa wamr qdm yy hka yhwn plkhn drya bkn ythamr bywma hdyn bTwra hdyn abrhm qdm yy plkh
Abraham called the name of that place “Yahweh Will Provide”. As it is said to this day, “On Yahweh’s mountain, it will be provided.”

וקרא מלאכא דיי לאברהם תנינות מן שמיא:
wqra mlaka dyy labrhm thnynwth mn shmya
Yahweh’s angel called to Abraham a second time out of the sky,
16
ואמר במימרי קימית אמר יי ארי חלף די עבדתא ית פתגמא הדין ולא מנעתא ית ברך ית יחידך:
wamr bmymry qymyth amr yy ary khlp dy ebdtha yth pthgma hdyn wla mnetha yth brk yth ykhydk
and said, “‘I have sworn by myself,’ says Yahweh, ‘because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son,

ארי ברכא אברכנך ואסגאה אסגי ית בנך ככוכבי שמיא וכחלא די על כיף ימא וירתון בנך ית קרוי סנאיהון:
ary brka abrknk wasgah asgy yth bnk kkwkby shmya wkkhla dy el kyp yma wyrthwn bnk yth qrwy snayhwn
that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

ויתברכון בדיל בנך כל עממיא דארעא חלף די קבלתא למימרי:
wythbrkwn bdyl bnk kl emmya darea khlp dy qbltha lmymry
All the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring, because you have obeyed my voice.’”

ותב אברהם לות עולימוהי וקמו ואזלו כחדא לבאר שבע ויתיב אברהם בבאר שבע:
wthb abrhm lwth ewlymwhy wqmw wazlw kkhda lbar shbe wythyb abrhm bbar shbe
So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba. Abraham lived at Beersheba.

והוה בתר פתגמיא האלין ואתחוא לאברהם למימר הא ילידת מלכה אף היא בנין לנחור אחוך:
whwh bthr pthgmya halyn wathkhwa labrhm lmymr ha ylydth mlkh ap hya bnyn lnkhwr akhwk
After these things, Abraham was told, “Behold, Milcah, she also has borne children to your brother Nahor:

ית עוץ בוכריה וית בוז אחוהי וית קמואל אבוהי דארם:
yth ewts bwkryh wyth bwz akhwhy wyth qmwal abwhy darm
Uz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,
22
וית כשד וית חזו וית פלדש וית ידלף וית בתואל:
wyth kshd wyth khzw wyth pldsh wyth ydlp wyth bthwal
Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”

ובתואל אוליד ית רבקה תמניא אלין ילידת מלכה לנחור אחוהי דאברהם:
wbthwal awlyd yth rbqh thmnya alyn ylydth mlkh lnkhwr akhwhy dabrhm
Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.

ולחנתיה ושמה ראומה וילידת אף היא ית טבח וית גחם וית תחש וית מעכה:
wlkhnthyh wshmh rawmh wylydth ap hya yth Tbkh wyth gkhm wyth thkhsh wyth mekh
His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.
