ויי דכיר ית שרה כמא די אמר ועבד יי לשרה כמא די מליל:
mlyl dy kma lshrh yy webd amr dy kma shrh yth dkyr wyy
Yahweh visited Sarah as he had said, and Yahweh did to Sarah as he had spoken.
2
ועדיאת וילידת שרה לאברהם בר לסיבתוהי לזמן די מליל יתיה יי:
yy ythyh mlyl dy lzmn lsybthwhy br labrhm shrh wylydth wedyath
Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

וקרא אברהם ית שום בריה דאתיליד ליה דילידת ליה שרה יצחק:
ytskhq shrh lyh dylydth lyh dathylyd bryh shwm yth abrhm wqra
Abraham called his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.

וגזר אברהם ית יצחק בריה בר תמניא יומין כמא די פקיד יתיה יי:
yy ythyh pqyd dy kma ywmyn thmnya br bryh ytskhq yth abrhm wgzr
Abraham circumcised his son, Isaac, when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.

ואברהם בר מאה שנין כד אתיליד ליה ית יצחק בריה:
bryh ytskhq yth lyh athylyd kd shnyn mah br wabrhm
Abraham was one hundred years old when his son, Isaac, was born to him.

ואמרת שרה חדוא עבד לי יי כל דשמע יחדי לי:
ly ykhdy dshme kl yy ly ebd khdwa shrh wamrth
Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”

ואמרת מאן מהימן דאמר לאברהם קים דתוניק בנין שרה ארי ילידית בר לסיבתוהי:
lsybthwhy br ylydyth ary shrh bnyn dthwnyq qym labrhm damr mhymn man wamrth
She said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”

ורבא רביא ואתחסיל ועבד אברהם משתיא רבא ביומא דאתחסיל ית יצחק:
ytskhq yth dathkhsyl bywma rba mshthya abrhm webd wathkhsyl rbya wrba
The child grew and was weaned. Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.

וחזת שרה ית בר הגר מצריתא דילידת לאברהם מחייך:
mkhyyk labrhm dylydth mtsrytha hgr br yth shrh wkhzth
Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.

ואמרת לאברהם תרך אמתא הדא וית ברה ארי לא ירת בר אמתא הדא עם ברי עם יצחק:
ytskhq em bry em hda amtha br yrth la ary brh wyth hda amtha thrk labrhm wamrth
Therefore she said to Abraham, “Cast out this servant and her son! For the son of this servant will not be heir with my son, Isaac.”

ובאיש פתגמא לחדא בעיני אברהם על עיסק בריה:
bryh eysq el abrhm beyny lkhda pthgma wbaysh
The thing was very grievous in Abraham’s sight on account of his son.

ואמר יי לאברהם לא יבאש בעיניך על עולימא ועל אמתך כל די תימר לך שרה קבל מנה ארי ביצחק יתקרון לך בנין:
bnyn lk ythqrwn bytskhq ary mnh qbl shrh lk thymr dy kl amthk wel ewlyma el beynyk ybash la labrhm yy wamr
God said to Abraham, “Don’t let it be grievous in your sight because of the boy, and because of your servant. In all that Sarah says to you, listen to her voice. For your offspring will be named through Isaac.

ואף ית בר אמתא לעם אשוניה ארי בנך הוא:
hwa bnk ary ashwnyh lem amtha br yth wap
I will also make a nation of the son of the servant, because he is your child.”

ואקדים אברהם בצפרא ונסיב לחמא ורקבא דמיא ויהב להגר שוי על כתפה וית רביא ושלחה ואזלת ותעת במדברא באר שבע:
shbe bar bmdbra wtheth wazlth wshlkhh rbya wyth kthph el shwy lhgr wyhb dmya wrqba lkhma wnsyb btspra abrhm waqdym
Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a container of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder; and gave her the child, and sent her away. She departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.

ושלימו מיא מן רקבא ורמת ית רביא תחות חד מן אילניא:
aylnya mn khd thkhwth rbya yth wrmth rqba mn mya wshlymw
The water in the container was spent, and she put the child under one of the shrubs.
16
ואזלת ויתיבת לה מקבל ארחיקת כמיגר קשתא ארי אמרת לא אחזי במותא דרביא ויתיבת מקבל וארימת ית קלה ובכת:
wbkth qlh yth warymth mqbl wythybth drbya bmwtha akhzy la amrth ary qshtha kmygr arkhyqth mqbl lh wythybth wazlth
She went and sat down opposite him, a good way off, about a bow shot away. For she said, “Don’t let me see the death of the child.” She sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.

ושמיע קדם יי ית קליה דרביא וקרא מלאכא דיי להגר מן שמיא ואמר לה מה ליך הגר לא תדחלי ארי שמיע קדם יי ית קליה דרביא באתר דהוא תמן:
thmn dhwa bathr drbya qlyh yth yy qdm shmye ary thdkhly la hgr lyk mh lh wamr shmya mn lhgr dyy mlaka wqra drbya qlyh yth yy qdm wshmye
God heard the voice of the boy. The angel of God called to Hagar out of the sky, and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Don’t be afraid. For God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.

קומי טולי ית רביא ואתקיפי ית ידך ביה ארי לעם סגי אשוניה:
ashwnyh sgy lem ary byh ydk yth wathqypy rbya yth Twly qwmy
Get up, lift up the boy, and hold him with your hand. For I will make him a great nation.”
19
וגלא יי ית עינהה וחזת בירא דמיא ואזלת ומלת ית רקבא מיא ואשקיאת ית רביא:
rbya yth washqyath mya rqba yth wmlth wazlth dmya byra wkhzth eynhh yth yy wgla
God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went, filled the container with water, and gave the boy a drink.
20
והוה מימרא דיי בסעדיה דרביא ורבא ויתב במדברא והוה רבי קשתא:
qshtha rby whwh bmdbra wythb wrba drbya bsedyh dyy mymra whwh
God was with the boy, and he grew. He lived in the wilderness, and as he grew up, he became an archer.

ויתב במדברא דפארן ונסיבת ליה אמיה אתתא מארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym marea aththa amyh lyh wnsybth dparn bmdbra wythb
He lived in the wilderness of Paran. His mother got a wife for him out of the land of Egypt.
22
והוה בעדנא ההיא ואמר אבימלך ופיכל רב חיליה לאברהם למימר מימרא דיי בסעדך בכל די את עבד:
ebd ath dy bkl bsedk dyy mymra lmymr labrhm khylyh rb wpykl abymlk wamr hhya bedna whwh
At that time, Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, “God is with you in all that you do.

וכען קים לי במימרא דיי הכא דלא תשקר בי ובברי ובבר ברי כטיבותא די עבדית עמך תעבד עמי ועם ארעא דאתותבתא בה:
bh dathwthbtha area wem emy thebd emk ebdyth dy kTybwtha bry wbbr wbbry by thshqr dla hka dyy bmymra ly qym wken
Now, therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son. But according to the kindness that I have done to you, you shall do to me, and to the land in which you have lived as a foreigner.”

ואוכח אברהם ית אבימלך על עיסק בירא דמיא די אניסו עבדי אבימלך:
abymlk ebdy anysw dy dmya byra eysq el abymlk yth abrhm wawkkh
Abraham complained to Abimelech because of a water well, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.

ואמר אבימלך לא ידעית מאן עבד ית פתגמא הדין ואף את לא חוית לי ואף אנא לא שמעית אלהין יומא דין:
dyn ywma alhyn shmeyth la ana wap ly khwyth la ath wap hdyn pthgma yth ebd man ydeyth la abymlk wamr
Abimelech said, “I don’t know who has done this thing. You didn’t tell me, and I didn’t hear of it until today.”

ודבר אברהם עאן ותורין ויהב לאבימלך וגזרו תרויהון קים:
qym thrwyhwn wgzrw labymlk wyhb wthwryn ean abrhm wdbr
Abraham took sheep and cattle, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.
28
ואקים אברהם ית שבע חורפן דעאן בלחודיהן:
blkhwdyhn dean khwrpn shbe yth abrhm waqym
Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.

ואמר אבימלך לאברהם מה אנון שבע חורפן אלין דאקמתא בלחודיהן:
blkhwdyhn daqmtha alyn khwrpn shbe anwn mh labrhm abymlk wamr
Abimelech said to Abraham, “What do these seven ewe lambs, which you have set by themselves, mean?”
30
ואמר ארי ית שבע חורפן תקבל מן ידי בדיל דתהי לי לסהדו ארי חפרית ית בירא הדין :
hdyn byra yth khpryth ary lshdw ly dthhy bdyl ydy mn thqbl khwrpn shbe yth ary wamr
He said, “You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well.”

על כן קרא לאתרא ההוא באר שבע ארי תמן קימו תרויהון:
thrwyhwn qymw thmn ary shbe bar hhwa lathra qra kn el
Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because they both swore an oath there.
32
וגזרו קים בבאר שבע וקם אבימלך ופיכל רב חיליה ותבו לארע פלשתאי:
plshthay lare wthbw khylyh rb wpykl abymlk wqm shbe bbar qym wgzrw
So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Abimelech rose up with Phicol, the captain of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33
ונציב נצבא בבאר שבע וצלי תמן בשמא דיי אלהא דעלמא:
delma alha dyy bshma thmn wtsly shbe bbar ntsba wntsyb
Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of Yahweh, the Everlasting God.
