בקדמין ברא יי ית שמיא וית ארעא:
bqdmyn bra yy yth shmya wyth area
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

וארעא הות צדיא וריקניא וחשוכא פרש על אפי תהומא ורוחא מן קדם יי מנשבא על אפי מיא:
warea hwth tsdya wryqnya wkhshwka prsh el apy thhwma wrwkha mn qdm yy mnshba el apy mya
The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

ואמר יי יהי נהורא והוה נהורא:
wamr yy yhy nhwra whwh nhwra
God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

וחזא יי ית נהורא ארי טב ואפרש יי בין נהורא ובין חשוכא:
wkhza yy yth nhwra ary Tb waprsh yy byn nhwra wbyn khshwka
God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

וקרא יי לנהורא יממא ולחשוכא קרא ליליא והוה רמש והוה צפר יומא חד:
wqra yy lnhwra ymma wlkhshwka qra lylya whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywma khd
God called the light “day”, and the darkness he called “night”. There was evening and there was morning, the first day.

ואמר יי יהי רקיעא במציעות מיא ויהי מפריש בין מיא למיא:
wamr yy yhy rqyea bmtsyewth mya wyhy mprysh byn mya lmya
God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

ועבד יי ית רקיעא ואפריש בין מיא די מלרע לרקיעא ובין מיא די מעל לרקיעא והוה כן:
webd yy yth rqyea waprysh byn mya dy mlre lrqyea wbyn mya dy mel lrqyea whwh kn
God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

וקרא יי לרקיעא שמיא והוה רמש והוה צפר יום תנין:
wqra yy lrqyea shmya whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywm thnyn
God called the expanse “sky”. There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

ואמר יי יתכנשון מיא מתחות שמיא לאתר חד ותתחזי יבשתא והוה כן:
wamr yy ythknshwn mya mthkhwth shmya lathr khd wththkhzy ybshtha whwh kn
God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear;” and it was so.

וקרא יי ליבשתא ארעא ולבית כנישות מיא קרא יממי וחזא יי ארי טב:
wqra yy lybshtha area wlbyth knyshwth mya qra ymmy wkhza yy ary Tb
God called the dry land “earth”, and the gathering together of the waters he called “seas”. God saw that it was good.

ואמר יי תדאית ארעא דיתאה עסבא דבר זרעה מזדרע אילן פירין עבד פירין לזנה די בר זרעה בה על ארעא והוה כן:
wamr yy thdayth area dythah esba dbr zreh mzdre ayln pyryn ebd pyryn lznh dy br zreh bh el area whwh kn
God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth;” and it was so.

ואפקת ארעא דיתאה עסבא דבר זרעה מזדרע לזנוהי ואילן עבד פירין דבר זרעה בה לזנוהי וחזא יי ארי טב:
wapqth area dythah esba dbr zreh mzdre lznwhy wayln ebd pyryn dbr zreh bh lznwhy wkhza yy ary Tb
The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with their seeds in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

והוה רמש והוה צפר יום תליתאי:
whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywm thlythay
There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
14
ואמר יי יהון נהורין ברקיעא דשמיא לאפרשא בין יממא ובין ליליא ויהון לאתין ולזמנין ולמימני בהון יומין ושנין:
wamr yy yhwn nhwryn brqyea dshmya laprsha byn ymma wbyn lylya wyhwn lathyn wlzmnyn wlmymny bhwn ywmyn wshnyn
God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years;

ויהון לנהורין ברקיעא דשמיא לאנהרא על ארעא והוה כן:
wyhwn lnhwryn brqyea dshmya lanhra el area whwh kn
and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so.
16
ועבד יי ית תרין נהוריא רברביא ית נהורא רבא למשלט ביממא וית נהורא זערא למשלט בליליא וית כוכביא:
webd yy yth thryn nhwrya rbrbya yth nhwra rba lmshlT bymma wyth nhwra zera lmshlT blylya wyth kwkbya
God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

ויהב יתהון יי ברקיעא דשמיא לאנהרא על ארעא:
wyhb ythhwn yy brqyea dshmya lanhra el area
God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth,
18
ולמשלט ביממא ובליליא ולאפרשא בין נהורא ובין חשוכא וחזא יי ארי טב:
wlmshlT bymma wblylya wlaprsha byn nhwra wbyn khshwka wkhza yy ary Tb
and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.
19
והוה רמש והוה צפר יום רביעאי:
whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywm rbyeay
There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
20
ואמר יי ירחשון מיא רחש נפשא חיתא ועופא יפרח על ארעא על אפי רקיעא דשמיא:
wamr yy yrkhshwn mya rkhsh npsha khytha wewpa yprkh el area el apy rqyea dshmya
God said, “Let the waters abound with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.”

וברא יי ית תניניא רברביא וית כל נפשא חיתא דרחשא די ארחישו מיא לזניהון וית כל עופא דפרח לזנוהי וחזא יי ארי טב:
wbra yy yth thnynya rbrbya wyth kl npsha khytha drkhsha dy arkhyshw mya lznyhwn wyth kl ewpa dprkh lznwhy wkhza yy ary Tb
God created the large sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.
22
ובריך יתהון יי למימר פושו וסגו ומלו ית מיא ביממיא ועופא יסגי בארעא:
wbryk ythhwn yy lmymr pwshw wsgw wmlw yth mya bymmya wewpa ysgy barea
God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
23
והוה רמש והוה צפר יום חמישאי:
whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywm khmyshay
There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
24
ואמר יי תפק ארעא נפשא חיתא לזנה בעיר ורחש וחות ארעא לזנה והוה כן:
wamr yy thpq area npsha khytha lznh beyr wrkhsh wkhwth area lznh whwh kn
God said, “Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind;” and it was so.
25
ועבד יי ית חות ארעא לזנה וית בעירא לזנה וית כל רחשא דארעא לזנוהי וחזא יי ארי טב:
webd yy yth khwth area lznh wyth beyra lznh wyth kl rkhsha darea lznwhy wkhza yy ary Tb
God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

ואמר יי נעביד אינשא בצלמנא כדמותנא וישלטון בנוני ימא ובעופא דשמיא ובבעירא ובכל ארעא ובכל רחשא דרחש על ארעא:
wamr yy nebyd aynsha btslmna kdmwthna wyshlTwn bnwny yma wbewpa dshmya wbbeyra wbkl area wbkl rkhsha drkhsh el area
God said, “Let’s make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27
וברא יי ית אדם בצלמה בצלמא דיי ברא יתה דכר ונוקבא ברא יתהון:
wbra yy yth adm btslmh btslma dyy bra ythh dkr wnwqba bra ythhwn
God created man in his own image. In God’s image he created him; male and female he created them.

ובריך יתהון יי ואמר להון יי פושו וסגו ומלו ית ארעא ותקופו עלה ושלוטו בנוני ימא ובעופא דשמיא ובכל חיתא דרחשא על ארעא:
wbryk ythhwn yy wamr lhwn yy pwshw wsgw wmlw yth area wthqwpw elh wshlwTw bnwny yma wbewpa dshmya wbkl khytha drkhsha el area
God blessed them. God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

ואמר יי הא יהבית לכון ית כל עסבא דבר זרעה מזדרע די על אפי כל ארעא וית כל אילנא די בה פירי אילנא דבר זרעה מזדרע לכון יהא למיכל:
wamr yy ha yhbyth lkwn yth kl esba dbr zreh mzdre dy el apy kl area wyth kl aylna dy bh pyry aylna dbr zreh mzdre lkwn yha lmykl
God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree, which bears fruit yielding seed. It will be your food.
30
ולכל חות ארעא ולכל עופא דשמיא ולכל דרחש על ארעא די בה נפשא חיתא ית כל ירוק עסבא למיכל והוה כן:
wlkl khwth area wlkl ewpa dshmya wlkl drkhsh el area dy bh npsha khytha yth kl yrwq esba lmykl whwh kn
To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.
31
וחזא יי ית כל די עבד והא תקין לחדא והוה רמש והוה צפר יום שתיתאי:
wkhza yy yth kl dy ebd wha thqyn lkhda whwh rmsh whwh tspr ywm shthythay
God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.
