בתר פתגמיא האלין הוה פתגמא דיי עם אברם בנבואה למימר לא תדחל אברם מימרי תקוף לך אגרך סגי לחדא:
bthr pthgmya halyn hwh pthgma dyy em abrm bnbwah lmymr la thdkhl abrm mymry thqwp lk agrk sgy lkhda
After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”

ואמר אברם יי אלהים מה תתן לי ואנא אזיל בלא ולד ובר פרנסא הדין דבביתי הוא דמשקאה אליעזר:
wamr abrm yy alhym mh ththn ly wana azyl bla wld wbr prnsa hdyn dbbythy hwa dmshqah alyezr
Abram said, “Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”

ואמר אברם הא לי לא יהבת ולד והא בר ביתי ירית יתי:
wamr abrm ha ly la yhbth wld wha br bythy yryth ythy
Abram said, “Behold, you have given no children to me: and, behold, one born in my house is my heir.”

והא פתגמא דיי עמיה למימר לא ירתנך דין אלהין בר דתוליד הוא ירתנך:
wha pthgma dyy emyh lmymr la yrthnk dyn alhyn br dthwlyd hwa yrthnk
Behold, Yahweh’s word came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir, but he who will come out of your own body will be your heir.”

ואפיק יתיה לברא ואמר אסתכי כען לשמיא ומני כוכביא אם תכול לממני יתהון ואמר ליה כדין יהון בנך:
wapyq ythyh lbra wamr asthky ken lshmya wmny kwkbya am thkwl lmmny ythhwn wamr lyh kdyn yhwn bnk
Yahweh brought him outside, and said, “Look now toward the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He said to Abram, “So your offspring will be.”

והימין במימרא דיי וחשבה ליה לזכו:
whymyn bmymra dyy wkhshbh lyh lzkw
He believed in Yahweh, who credited it to him for righteousness.

ואמר ליה אנא יי דאפקתך מאורא דכשדאי למתן לך ית ארעא הדא למירתה:
wamr lyh ana yy dapqthk mawra dkshday lmthn lk yth area hda lmyrthh
He said to Abram, “I am Yahweh who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.”

ואמר יי אלהים במה אדע ארי ארתינה:
wamr yy alhym bmh ade ary arthynh
He said, “Lord Yahweh, how will I know that I will inherit it?”

ואמר ליה קרב קדמי עגלין תלתא ועזין תלתא ודכרין תלת ושפנינא ובר יונא:
wamr lyh qrb qdmy eglyn thltha wezyn thltha wdkryn thlth wshpnyna wbr ywna
He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”

וקרב קדמוהי ית כל אלין ופליג יתהון בשוה ויהב פלגיא פלוג לקבל חבריה וית עופא לא פליג:
wqrb qdmwhy yth kl alyn wplyg ythhwn bshwh wyhb plgya plwg lqbl khbryh wyth ewpa la plyg
He brought him all these, and divided them in the middle, and laid each half opposite the other; but he didn’t divide the birds.

ונחת עופא על פגליא ואפרח יתהון אברם:
wnkhth ewpa el pglya waprkh ythhwn abrm
The birds of prey came down on the carcasses, and Abram drove them away.

והוה שמשא למיעל ושנתא נפלת על אברם והא אימה קבל סגי נפלת עלוהי:
whwh shmsha lmyel wshntha nplth el abrm wha aymh qbl sgy nplth elwhy
When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. Now terror and great darkness fell on him.

ואמר לאברם מדע תדע ארי דירין יהון בנך בארעא דלא דילהון ויפלחון בהון ויענון יתהון ארבע מאה שנין:
wamr labrm mde thde ary dyryn yhwn bnk barea dla dylhwn wyplkhwn bhwn wyenwn ythhwn arbe mah shnyn
He said to Abram, “Know for sure that your offspring will live as foreigners in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them. They will afflict them four hundred years.

ואף ית עמא דיפלחון בהון דיין אנא ובתר כן יפקון בקנינא סגי:
wap yth ema dyplkhwn bhwn dyyn ana wbthr kn ypqwn bqnyna sgy
I will also judge that nation, whom they will serve. Afterward they will come out with great wealth;
15
ואת תיעול לות אבהתך בשלם תתקבר בסיבו טבא:
wath thyewl lwth abhthk bshlm ththqbr bsybw Tba
but you will go to your fathers in peace. You will be buried at a good old age.
16
ודרא רביעאה יתובון הכא ארי לא שלים חובא דאמוראה עד כען:
wdra rbyeah ythwbwn hka ary la shlym khwba damwrah ed ken
In the fourth generation they will come here again, for the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet full.”
17
והוה שמשא עלת וקבלא הוה והא תנור דתנן ובעור דאשתא די עדא בין פלגיא האלין:
whwh shmsha elth wqbla hwh wha thnwr dthnn wbewr dashtha dy eda byn plgya halyn
It came to pass that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold, a smoking furnace and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.

ביומא ההוא גזר יי עם אברם קים למימר לבנך יהבית ית ארעא הדא מן נהרא דמצרים ועד נהרא רבא נהרא פרת:
bywma hhwa gzr yy em abrm qym lmymr lbnk yhbyth yth area hda mn nhra dmtsrym wed nhra rba nhra prth
In that day Yahweh made a covenant with Abram, saying, “I have given this land to your offspring, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

ית שלמאי וית קנזאי וית קדמונאי:
yth shlmay wyth qnzay wyth qdmwnay
the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,
20
וית חתאי וית פרזאי וית גבראי:
wyth khthay wyth przay wyth gbray
the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,
21
וית אמוראי וית כנענאי וית גרגשאי וית יבוסאי:
wyth amwray wyth knenay wyth grgshay wyth ybwsay
the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”
