והוה ביומי אמרפל מלכא דבבל אריוך מלכא דאלסר כדרלעמר מלכא דעילם ותדעל מלכא דעממי:

In the days of Amraphel, king of Shinar; Arioch, king of Ellasar; Chedorlaomer, king of Elam; and Tidal, king of Goiim,

סדרו קרבא עם ברע מלכא דסדם ועם ברשע מלכא דעמרה שנאב מלכא דאדמה ושמאבר מלכא דצבוים ומלכא דבלע היא צער:
sdrw qrba em bre mlka dsdm wem brshe mlka demrh shnab mlka dadmh wshmabr mlka dtsbwym wmlka dble hya tser
they made war with Bera, king of Sodom; Birsha, king of Gomorrah; Shinab, king of Admah; Shemeber, king of Zeboiim; and the king of Bela (also called Zoar).

כל אלין אתכנשו למישר חקליא הוא אתר ימא דמלחא:
kl alyn athknshw lmyshr khqlya hwa athr yma dmlkha
All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (also called the Salt Sea).

תרתא עשרי שנין פלחו ית כדרלעמר ותלת עשרי שנין מרדו:
thrtha eshry shnyn plkhw yth kdrlemr wthlth eshry shnyn mrdw
They served Chedorlaomer for twelve years, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

ובארבע עשרי שנין אתא כדרלעמר ומלכיא דעמיה ומחו ית גבריא די בעשתרות קרנים וית תקיפיא דבהמתא וית אימתני דבשוה קריתים:
wbarbe eshry shnyn atha kdrlemr wmlkya demyh wmkhw yth gbrya dy beshthrwth qrnym wyth thqypya dbhmtha wyth aymthny dbshwh qrythym
In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him came and struck the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim,

וית חוראי די בטורהון דשעיר עד מישר פארן דסמיך על מדברא:
wyth khwray dy bTwrhwn dsheyr ed myshr parn dsmyk el mdbra
and the Horites in their Mount Seir, to El Paran, which is by the wilderness.

ותבו ואתו למישר פלוג דינא היא רקם ומחו ית כל חקל עמלקאה ואף ית אמוראה דיתיב בעין גדי:
wthbw wathw lmyshr plwg dyna hya rqm wmkhw yth kl khql emlqah wap yth amwrah dythyb beyn gdy
They returned, and came to En Mishpat (also called Kadesh), and struck all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that lived in Hazazon Tamar.

ונפק מלכא דסדום ומלכא דעמורה ומלכא דאדמה ומלכא דצבוים ומלכא דבלע היא צוער וסדרו עמהון קרבא במישר חקליא:
wnpq mlka dsdwm wmlka demwrh wmlka dadmh wmlka dtsbwym wmlka dble hya tswer wsdrw emhwn qrba bmyshr khqlya
The king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (also called Zoar) went out; and they set the battle in array against them in the valley of Siddim

עם כדרלעמר מלכא דעילם ותדעל מלכא דעממין ואמרפל מלכא דבבל ואריוך מלכא דאלסר ארבעה מלכין לקביל חמשא:
em kdrlemr mlka deylm wthdel mlka demmyn wamrpl mlka dbbl warywk mlka dalsr arbeh mlkyn lqbyl khmsha
against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings against the five.

ומישר חקליא בירין בירין מסקן חימרא וערקו מלכא דסדום ועמורה ונפלו תמן ודאשתארו לטורא ערקו:
wmyshr khqlya byryn byryn msqn khymra werqw mlka dsdwm wemwrh wnplw thmn wdashtharw lTwra erqw
Now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and some fell there. Those who remained fled to the hills.

ושבו ית כל קנינא דסדום ועמורה וית כל מיכלהון ואזלו:
wshbw yth kl qnyna dsdwm wemwrh wyth kl myklhwn wazlw
They took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their food, and went their way.

ושבו ית לוט וית קניניה בר אחוהי דאברם ואזלו והוא יתב בסדום:
wshbw yth lwT wyth qnynyh br akhwhy dabrm wazlw whwa ythb bsdwm
They took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who lived in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.

ואתא משיזבא וחוי לאברם עבראה והוא שרי במישרי ממרא אמוראה אחוהי דאשכול ואחוהי דענר ואנון אנשי קימיה דאברם:
watha mshyzba wkhwy labrm ebrah whwa shry bmyshry mmra amwrah akhwhy dashkwl wakhwhy denr wanwn anshy qymyh dabrm
One who had escaped came and told Abram, the Hebrew. At that time, he lived by the oaks of Mamre, the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner. They were allies of Abram.

ושמע אברם ארי אשתבי אחוהי וזריז ית עולמוהי ילידי ביתיה תלת מאה ותמני עסר ורדף עד דן:
wshme abrm ary ashthby akhwhy wzryz yth ewlmwhy ylydy bythyh thlth mah wthmny esr wrdp ed dn
When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led out his three hundred eighteen trained men, born in his house, and pursued as far as Dan.

ואתפלג עליהון ליליא הוא ועבדוהי ומחונון ורדפנון עד חובה די מצפונא לדמשק:
wathplg elyhwn lylya hwa webdwhy wmkhwnwn wrdpnwn ed khwbh dy mtspwna ldmshq
He divided himself against them by night, he and his servants, and struck them, and pursued them to Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

ואתב ית כל קנינא ואף ית לוט בר אחוהי וקניניה אתיב ואף ית נשיא וית עמא:
wathb yth kl qnyna wap yth lwT br akhwhy wqnynyh athyb wap yth nshya wyth ema
He brought back all the goods, and also brought back his relative Lot and his goods, and the women also, and the other people.

ונפק מלכא דסדום לקדמותיה בתר דתב מלממחי ית כדרלעומר וית מלכיא די עמיה למישר מפנא הוא אתר בית ריסא דמלכא:
wnpq mlka dsdwm lqdmwthyh bthr dthb mlmmkhy yth kdrlewmr wyth mlkya dy emyh lmyshr mpna hwa athr byth rysa dmlka
The king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).

ומלכי צדק מלכא דירושלם אפיק לחם וחמר והוא משמש קדם אל עלאה:
wmlky tsdq mlka dyrwshlm apyq lkhm wkhmr whwa mshmsh qdm al elah
Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High.

וברכיה ואמר בריך אברם לאל עלאה דקניניה שמיא וארעא:
wbrkyh wamr bryk abrm lal elah dqnynyh shmya warea
He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

ובריך אל עלאה דמסר סנאך בידך ויהב ליה חד מן עסרא מכלא:
wbryk al elah dmsr snak bydk wyhb lyh khd mn esra mkla
Blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all.
21
ואמר מלכא דסדום לאברם הב לי נפשתא וקנינא דבר לך:
wamr mlka dsdwm labrm hb ly npshtha wqnyna dbr lk
The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, and take the goods for yourself.”
22
ואמר אברם למלכא דסדום ארימית ידי בצלו קדם יי קדם אל עלאה דקניניה שמיא וארעא:
wamr abrm lmlka dsdwm arymyth ydy btslw qdm yy qdm al elah dqnynyh shmya warea
Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted up my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth,

אם מחוטא ועד ערקת מסנא ואם אסב מכל די לך ולא תימר אנא אעתרית ית אברם:
am mkhwTa wed erqth msna wam asb mkl dy lk wla thymr ana aethryth yth abrm
that I will not take a thread nor a sandal strap nor anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’

לחוד מדאכלו עולמיא וחולק גבריא די אזלו עמי ענר אשכל וממרא אנון יקבלון חלקהון:
lkhwd mdaklw ewlmya wkhwlq gbrya dy azlw emy enr ashkl wmmra anwn yqblwn khlqhwn
I will accept nothing from you except that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them take their portion.”
