והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם אתנבי על פרנסי ישראל אתנבי ותימר להון לפרנסיא כדנן אמר יי אלהים וי על פרנסיא דישראל דהוו מפרנסין נפשיהון הלא לפרנסא עמא אתמניאו פרנסיא:
prnsya athmnyaw ema lprnsa hla npshyhwn mprnsyn dhww dyshral prnsya el wy alhym yy amr kdnn lprnsya lhwn wthymr athnby yshral prnsy el athnby adm br
“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?

ית טובא אתין אכלין ועמר נקי אתון לבשין פטימיא אתון נכסין לעמא ליתיכון מפרנסין:
mprnsyn lythykwn lema nksyn athwn pTymya lbshyn athwn nqy wemr aklyn athyn Twba yth
You eat the fat. You clothe yourself with the wool. You kill the fatlings, but you don’t feed the sheep.

ית כאיביא לא תקיפתון ולמריעיא לא אסיתון ולתביריא לא צמדתון וית דאיטלטלו לא אתיבתון וית דאבדו לא בעיתון ובתוקפא פלחתון בהון ובקשיו:
wbqshyw bhwn plkhthwn wbthwqpa beythwn la dabdw wyth athybthwn la dayTlTlw wyth tsmdthwn la wlthbyrya asythwn la wlmryeya thqypthwn la kaybya yth
You haven’t strengthened the diseased. You haven’t healed that which was sick. You haven’t bound up that which was broken. You haven’t brought back that which was driven away. You haven’t sought that which was lost, but you have ruled over them with force and with rigor.

ואתבדרו מבלי פרנס ואתמסרו לאשתיצאה לכל מלכות עממיא ואיטלטלו:
wayTlTlw emmya mlkwth lkl lashthytsah wathmsrw prns mbly wathbdrw
They were scattered, because there was no shepherd. They became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered.

טעו עמי בכל טוריא ועל כל רמא מנטלא ועל כל אפי ארעא אתבדרו עמי ולית דתבע ולית דבעי:
dbey wlyth dthbe wlyth emy athbdrw area apy kl wel mnTla rma kl wel Twrya bkl emy Tew
My sheep wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill. Yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth. There was no one who searched or sought.”

בכן פרנסין קבילו ית פתגמא דיי:
dyy pthgma yth qbylw prnsyn bkn
“‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word:

קים אנא אמר יי אלהים אם לא חלף דהוו עמי לבזא ואתמסרו עמי לאשתיצאה לכל מלכות עממיא מבלי פרנס ולא תבעו פרנסיא ית עמי ופרניסו פרנסיא ית נפשיהון וית עמי לא פרניסו:
prnysw la emy wyth npshyhwn yth prnsya wprnysw emy yth prnsya thbew wla prns mbly emmya mlkwth lkl lashthytsah emy wathmsrw lbza emy dhww khlp la am alhym yy amr ana qym
“As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my shepherds didn’t search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn’t feed my sheep,

בכן פרנסיא רשיעיא תובו לאוריתא ואנא עתיד לרחמא עליכון אציתו לאולפן אוריתא וקבילו פתגמא דיי:
dyy pthgma wqbylw awrytha lawlpn atsythw elykwn lrkhma ethyd wana lawrytha thwbw rshyeya prnsya bkn
therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word!”

כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא שלח רוגזי על פרנסיא ואתבע ית עמי מידיהון ואבטלינון מלפרנסא עמא ולא יפרנסון עוד פרנסיא נפשיהון ואשיזיב עמי מידיהון ולא יתמסרון בידיהון לאשתיצאה:
lashthytsah bydyhwn ythmsrwn wla mydyhwn emy washyzyb npshyhwn prnsya ewd yprnswn wla ema mlprnsa wabTlynwn mydyhwn emy yth wathbe prnsya el rwgzy shlkh ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn
The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא מתגלי ואתבע ית עמי ואבקרינון:
wabqrynwn emy yth wathbe mthgly ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn ary
“‘For the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.

כמא דמבקר רעיא עדריה ביומא דהוה בגו עניה ומפרש להון כן אבקר ית עמי ואשיזיב יתהון מכל אתריא דאתבדרו לתמן ביום עננא ואמטתא:
wamTtha enna bywm lthmn dathbdrw athrya mkl ythhwn washyzyb emy yth abqr kn lhwn wmprsh enyh bgw dhwh bywma edryh reya dmbqr kma
As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

ואפיקינון מביני עממיא ואכנשינון מן מדינתא ואעילינון לארעהון ואפרנסינון על טורי ישראל בפצידיא ובכל מותבי ארעא:
area mwthby wbkl bptsydya yshral Twry el waprnsynwn larehwn waeylynwn mdyntha mn waknshynwn emmya mbyny wapyqynwn
I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

בפרנוס טב אפרניס יתהון ובטור קודשא דישראל יהיבית מישריהון תמן ישרון באתר דיאי ופרנוס טב יתפרנסון על טורי ישראל:
yshral Twry el ythprnswn Tb wprnws dyay bathr yshrwn thmn myshryhwn yhybyth dyshral qwdsha wbTwr ythhwn aprnys Tb bprnws
I will feed them with good pasture, and their fold will be on the mountains of the height of Israel. There they will lie down in a good fold. They will feed on rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.

אנא אפרנס ית עמי ואנא אשרינון לרוחצן אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr lrwkhtsn ashrynwn wana emy yth aprns ana
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ית דאבדו אתבע וית דאיטלטלו אתיב ולתביריא אצמוד ולמריעיא אסובר וית חטאיא וית חיביא אשיצי ואפרניס עמי בדינא:
bdyna emy waprnys ashytsy khybya wyth khTaya wyth aswbr wlmryeya atsmwd wlthbyrya athyb dayTlTlw wyth athbe dabdw yth
“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’

ואתון עמי כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא דאין בין גבר לגבר לחטאיא ולחיביא:
wlkhybya lkhTaya lgbr gbr byn dayn ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn emy wathwn
“As for you, O my flock, the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.

הזעיר לכון דפרנוס טב אתון מתפרנסין ומותר פרנוסכון דישין ברגליכון ומשתי מתקן אתון שתן וית מותרא ברגליכון אתון דישין:
dyshyn athwn brglykwn mwthra wyth shthn athwn mthqn wmshthy brglykwn dyshyn prnwskwn wmwthr mthprnsyn athwn Tb dprnws lkwn hzeyr
Does it seem a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? And to have drunk of the clear waters, but must you foul the residue with your feet?

ועמי מותר מיכל שמשיכון אכלין ומותר משתי שמשיכון שתן:
shthn shmshykwn mshthy wmwthr aklyn shmshykwn mykl mwthr wemy
As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.’

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים להון הא אנא מתגלי ואידון בין גבר עתיר ובין גבר מסכן:
mskn gbr wbyn ethyr gbr byn waydwn mthgly ana ha lhwn alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says to them: ‘Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.

חלף דברשע ובדרע דחיקתון ובתוקפא תברתון כל כאיביא עד דבדרתון יתהון לביני מדינתא:
mdyntha lbyny ythhwn dbdrthwn ed kaybya kl thbrthwn wbthwqpa dkhyqthwn wbdre dbrshe khlp
Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad,

ואפרוק לעמי ולא יתמסרון עוד לבזא ואידון בין גבר לגבר:
lgbr gbr byn waydwn lbza ewd ythmsrwn wla lemy waprwq
therefore I will save my flock, and they will no more be a prey. I will judge between sheep and sheep.
23
ואקים עליהון פרנס חד ויפרניס יתהון והוא יהי להון לפרנס:
lprns lhwn yhy whwa ythhwn wyprnys khd prns elyhwn waqym
I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.
24
ואנא יי אהוי להון לאלהא ועבדי דוד מלכא ביניהון אנא יי גזרית במימרי:
bmymry gzryth yy ana bynyhwn mlka dwd webdy lalha lhwn ahwy yy wana
I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.
25
ואגזר להון קים שלם ואבטל חיתא בישתא מן ארעא ויתיבון במדברא לרוחצן ויתעתקון ברחושא:
brkhwsha wythethqwn lrwkhtsn bmdbra wythybwn area mn byshtha khytha wabTl shlm qym lhwn wagzr
“‘I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land. They will dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

ואשרי יתהון סחור סחור לבית מקדשי ויהון מבורכן ואחית להון מטר בכיר בעדניה מטרין דברכן יהון:
yhwn dbrkn mTryn bednyh bkyr mTr lhwn wakhyth mbwrkn wyhwn mqdshy lbyth skhwr skhwr ythhwn washry
I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. I will cause the shower to come down in its season. There will be showers of blessing.
27
ויתן אילן חקלא ית אביה וארעא תתן עללתה ויהון על ארעהון לרוחצן וידעון ארי אנא יי כד אתבר ית ניר תוקפיהון ואשיזבינון מיד דמפלחין בהון:
bhwn dmplkhyn myd washyzbynwn thwqpyhwn nyr yth athbr kd yy ana ary wydewn lrwkhtsn arehwn el wyhwn ellthh ththn warea abyh yth khqla ayln wythn
The tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.
28
ולא יהון עוד בזא לעממיא ומלכות ארעא לא ישיצינון ויתבון לרוחצן ולית דמניד:
dmnyd wlyth lrwkhtsn wythbwn yshytsynwn la area wmlkwth lemmya bza ewd yhwn wla
They will no more be a prey to the nations, neither will the animals of the earth devour them; but they will dwell securely, and no one will make them afraid.
29
ואקים להון נצבא לקימא ולא יהון עוד מטלטלי כפנא בארעא ולא יקבלון עוד אתכנעות עממיא:
emmya athknewth ewd yqblwn wla barea kpna mTlTly ewd yhwn wla lqyma ntsba lhwn waqym
I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they will no more be consumed with famine in the land, and not bear the shame of the nations any more.
30
וידעון ארי אנא יי אלההון מימרי בסעדהון ואינון עמי בית ישראל אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr yshral byth emy waynwn bsedhwn mymry alhhwn yy ana ary wydewn
They will know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh.
