Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܪܥ̇ܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܠܥܢܐ ܪܥ̇ܝܢ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?

ܫܡܝ̈ܢܐ ܐܟ̇ܠܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܥܡ̇ܪܗܘܢ ܠܒ̇ܫܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܡ̈ܦܛܡܐ ܕܒ̇ܚܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܥܢܐ ܠܐ ܪܥ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
'nthwn reyn l' wen' 'nthwn dbkhyn wmpTm' 'nthwn lbshyn wemrhwn 'nthwn 'klyn shmyn'
You eat the fat. You clothe yourself with the wool. You kill the fatlings, but you don’t feed the sheep.

ܠܕܟܪܝܗܐ ܠܐ ܚܝܠܬܘܢ ܘܕܡܪܥܐ ܠܐ ܐܣܝܬܘܢ ܘܕܬܒܝܪܐ ܠܐ ܥܨܒܬܘܢ ܘܕܛܥܝܐ ܠܐ ܐܗܦܟܬܘܢ ܘܕܐܒܝܕܐ ܠܐ ܒܥܝܬܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܒܩܛܝܪܐ ܫܥܒܕܬܘܢ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ
'nyn shebdthwn bqTyr' 'l' beythwn l' wd'byd' 'hpkthwn l' wdTey' etsbthwn l' wdthbyr' 'sythwn l' wdmre' khylthwn l' ldkryh'
You haven’t strengthened the diseased. You haven’t healed that which was sick. You haven’t bound up that which was broken. You haven’t brought back that which was driven away. You haven’t sought that which was lost, but you have ruled over them with force and with rigor.

ܘܐܬܒܕܪ ܥܢܝ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܪܥܝ̇ܐ ܘܗ̈ܘܝ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܟܘܠܗ̇ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ
ddbr' khywth' lkwlh m'kwlth' whwy rey' bly mn eny w'thbdr
They were scattered, because there was no shepherd. They became food to all the animals of the field, and were scattered.

ܘܛܥܬ ܥܢܝ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܘܥܠ ܟܘܠ ܪܡܬܐ ܕܪܡܐ ܘܒܟܠܗ̇ ܐܪܥܐ ܐܬܒܕܪܬ ܥܢܝ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܬܒ̇ܥ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܕܡܟܢܫ

My sheep wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill. Yes, my sheep were scattered on all the surface of the earth. There was no one who searched or sought.”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

“‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word:

ܚܝ ܐܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܗܘܬ ܥܢܝ ܠܒܙܬܐ ܘܗܘܬ ܥܢܝ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܟܠܗ̇ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܕܕܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܒܠܝ ܪܥܝ̇ܐ ܘܠܐ ܪܥܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܠܥܢܝ ܐܠܐ ܪܥܘ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܘܠܥܢܝ ܠܐ ܪܥܘ

“As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “surely because my sheep became a prey, and my sheep became food to all the animals of the field, because there was no shepherd, and my shepherds didn’t search for my sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and didn’t feed my sheep,

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ

therefore, you shepherds, hear Yahweh’s word!”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܘܐܬܒܥ ܥܢܝ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܒܛܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܕܠܐ ܢܪܥܘܢ ܬܘܒ ܠܥܢܝ ܘܐܦܨܐ ܠܥܢܝ ܡܢ ܦܘܡܗܘܢ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ
lm'kwlth' lhwn nhwyn l' wthwb pwmhwn mn leny w'pts' leny thwb nrewn dl' 'nwn w'bTl b'ydyhwn eny w'thbe rewth' el 'n' h' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn'
The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against the shepherds. I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep. The shepherds won’t feed themselves any more. I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܬܒ̇ܥ ܐܢܐ ܥܢܝ ܘܣܥ̇ܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܗܝܢ

“‘For the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I myself, even I, will search for my sheep, and will seek them out.

ܐܝܟ ܕܣܥ̇ܪ ܪܥ̇ܝܐ ܠܓܙܪܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܙܝܩܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܣܥܪܝܗ̇ ܠܥܢܝ ܘܐܟܢܫ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܐܬܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܐܬܒܕܪܘ ܒܗܘܢ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܥܢܢܐ ܘܕܥܪܦܠܐ
wderpl' denn' bywm' bhwn d'thbdrw 'thrwth' kwlhwn mn 'nwn w'knsh leny 'seryh hkn' dzyq' bywm' lgzrh rey' dser 'yk
As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep. I will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

ܘܐܦܩ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܡܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܟܢܫ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܕܝܢܬܐ ܘܐܝܬܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܠܐܪܥܗܝܢ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܒܢܚ̈ܠܐ ܘܒܟܠܗ ܝܬܒܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ
d're' ythb' wbklh wbnkhl' d'ysryl bTwr' 'nyn w're' l'rehyn 'nyn w'yth' mdynth' mn 'nyn w'knsh emm' mn 'nyn w'pq
I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

ܒܝܬ ܪܥܝ̣ܐ ܛܒܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܒܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܪ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܢܗܘܐ ܕܝܪܗܝܢ ܬܡܢ ܢܪ̈ܒܥܢ ܒܕܝܪܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܪܥܝ̣ܐ ܫܡܝܢܐ ܢܪ̈ܥܝܢ ܒܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl bTwr' nreyn shmyn' wrey' Tb' bdyr' nrben thmn dyrhyn nhw' d'ysryl rm' wbTwr' 'nyn 're' Tb' rey' byth
I will feed them with good pasture, and their fold will be on the mountains of the height of Israel. There they will lie down in a good fold. They will feed on rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.

ܐܢܐ ܐܪܥܐ ܠܥܢܝ. ܘܐܢܐ ܐܪܒܥ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr 'nyn 'rbe w'n' leny 're' 'n'
I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ܕܐܒܝܕܐ ܐܒܥܐ ܘܕܛܥܝܐ ܐܗܦܟ ܘܕܬܒܝܪܐ ܐܥܨܘܒ ܘܕܟܪܝܗܐ ܐܚܝܠ ܘܕܫܡܝܢܐ ܘܕܥܫܝܢܐ ܐܛܪ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܒܕܝܢܐ
bdyn' 'nyn w're' 'Tr wdeshyn' wdshmyn' 'khyl wdkryh' 'etswb wdthbyr' 'hpk wdTey' 'be' d'byd'
“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.”’

ܠܟܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܝ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܕܐ̇ܢ ܐܢܐ ܒܝܬ ܢܩܝܐ ܠܢܩܝܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܕܟܪܐ ܠܕܟܪܐ
ldkr' dkr' wbyth lnqy' nqy' byth 'n' d'n h' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' eny dyn lkyn
“As for you, O my flock, the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, the rams and the male goats.

ܠܐ ܣ̇ܦܩ ܠܟܘܢ ܪ̈ܥܘܬܐ ܪܥܝ̣ܐ ܛܒܐ ܕܪܥ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܪܥܝܟܘܢ ܕܝܫ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܡ̈ܝܐ ܫܬ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܘܫܪܟܐ ܕܡܘܬܪܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܠܚ̇ܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܘܢ
brglykwn 'nthwn dlkhyn 'nthwn dmwthryn wshrk' 'nthwn shthyn wmy' brglykwn 'nthwn dyshyn dreykwn wshrk' 'nthwn dreyn Tb' rey' rewth' lkwn spq l'
Does it seem a small thing to you to have fed on the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture? And to have drunk of the clear waters, but must you foul the residue with your feet?

ܘܥܢܝ ܪ̈ܥܝ ܕܘܫܐ ܕܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܐܫܬܝ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܕܠܚ ܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܘܢ
rglykwn ddlkh my' w'shthy drglykwn dwsh' rey weny
As for my sheep, they eat that which you have trodden with your feet, and they drink that which you have fouled with your feet.’

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܕܐ̇ܢ ܐܢܐ ܒܝܬ ܢܩܝܐ ܫܡܝܢܬܐ ܠܢܩܝܐ ܡܚܝܠܬܐ
mkhylth' lnqy' shmynth' nqy' byth 'n' d'n h' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' hn' mTl
“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says to them: ‘Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.

ܥܠ ܕܣܚ̈ܦܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܒ̈ܓܒܝܗܝܢ ܘܒܟܬ̈ܦܬܗܝܢ ܘܒܩܪ̈ܢܬܗܝܢ ܡܕܩܪ̈ܢ ܗ̈ܘܝ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܟܪ̈ܝܗܬܐ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܒܕܪ ܐܢܝ̈ܢ ܠܒܪ
lbr 'nyn dbdr edm' kryhth' lklhyn hwy mdqrn wbqrnthhyn wbkthpthhyn bgbyhyn hwy dskhpn el
Because you thrust with side and with shoulder, and push all the diseased with your horns, until you have scattered them abroad,

ܘܐܦܪܩܝܗ̇ ܠܥܢܝ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܒܙܬܐ ܘܐܕܘܢ ܒܝܬ ܢܩܝܐ ܠܢܩܝܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܕܟܪܐ ܠܕܟܪܐ
ldkr' dkr' wbyth lnqy' nqy' byth w'dwn lbzth' lhwn thhw' l' wthwb leny w'prqyh
therefore I will save my flock, and they will no more be a prey. I will judge between sheep and sheep.

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܥܠܝܗܝܢ ܪܥ̇ܝܐ ܘܢܪܥܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̣ܕܝ ܗܘ ܢܪܥܐ ܐ̈ܢܝܢ ܘܗܘ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗܝܢ ܪܥ̇ܝܐ
rey' lhyn nhw' whw 'nyn nre' hw ebdy dwyd 'nyn wnre' rey' elyhyn w'qym
I will set up one shepherd over them, and he will feed them, even my servant David. He will feed them, and he will be their shepherd.

ܘܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܕܘܝܕ ܥܒ̣ܕܝ ܢܗܘܐ ܫܠܝܛܐ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ

I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant David prince among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܠܗܘܢ ܩܝܡܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܘܐܒܛܠ ܚܝܘܬܐ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܥܡܪܘܢ ܒܡܕܒܪܐ ܒܫܠܝܐ ܘܢܕܡܟܘܢ ܒܥܒܐ
beb' wndmkwn bshly' bmdbr' wnemrwn 're' mn byshth' khywth' w'bTl dshlm' qym' lhwn w'qym
“‘I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause evil animals to cease out of the land. They will dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

ܘܐܬܠ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܘܪܟܬܝ ܚܕܪ ܪܡܬܝ ܘܐܚܬ ܡܛܪܐ ܒܙܒܢܗ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܡܛܪܐ ܕܒܘܪܟܬܐ
dbwrkth' mTr' wnhw' bzbnh mTr' w'khth rmthy khdr bwrkthy lhwn w'thl
I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. I will cause the shower to come down in its season. There will be showers of blessing.

ܘܐܝ̈ܠܢܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܢܥܒܕܘܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܐ ܘܐܪܥܐ ܬܬܠ ܥ̈ܠܠܬܗ̇ ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܗܘܢ ܒܣܒܪܐ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܬܒ̇ܪܬ ܢܝܪܗܘܢ ܘܦܨܝ̇ܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܡܫ̈ܥܒܕܢܝܗܘܢ
dmshebdnyhwn 'yd' mn 'nwn wptsyth nyrhwn dthbrth m' mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn bsbr' b'rehwn wnthbwn ellthh ththl w're' p'r' nebdwn d're' w'yln'
The tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.

ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܒܙܬܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܐܦ ܠܐ ܬܐܟܘܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܚܝܘܬ ܒܪܐ ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܣܒܪܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܡܗܪܢܐ
mhrn' lhwn nhw' wl' bsbr' wnthbwn br' khywth 'nwn th'kwl l' 'p lemm' bzth' nhwwn l' wthwb
They will no more be a prey to the nations, neither will the animals of the earth devour them; but they will dwell securely, and no one will make them afraid.

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܠܗܘܢ ܢܨܒܬܐ ܕܫܠܡܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܫܬܢܩܘܢ ܒܟܦܢܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܩܒܠܘܢ ܚܣܕܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ
demm' khsd' nqblwn l' wthwb b're' bkpn' nshthnqwn l' wthwb dshlm' ntsbth' lhwn w'qym
I will raise up to them a plantation for renown, and they will no more be consumed with famine in the land, and not bear the shame of the nations any more.

ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܥܡܝ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr 'ysryl dbyth emy 'nwn whnwn 'lhhwn mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn
They will know that I, Yahweh, their God am with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, says the Lord Yahweh.

ܐܢܬܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܥܢܝ ܥܢܐ ܕܡܪܥܝܬܝ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܢܬܝܢ ܘܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܟܝܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr 'lhkyn mry' 'n' w'n' 'nthyn 'nsh' bny dmreythy en' eny dyn 'nthyn
You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are men, and I am your God,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”
