והוה בתרתא עסרי שנין בתרי עסר ירחין בחד לירחא הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh lyrkha bkhd yrkhyn esr bthry shnyn esry bthrtha whwh
In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם טול אליא על פרעה מלכא דמצרים ותימר ליה תקיף בעממיא הויתא ואת כתנינא בימיא ואגחתא במשריתך ואזעתא עממיא בסומכותך ואחריבתא מדינתהון:
mdynthhwn wakhrybtha bswmkwthk emmya wazetha bmshrythk wagkhtha bymya kthnyna wath hwytha bemmya thqyp lyh wthymr dmtsrym mlka preh el alya Twl adm br
“Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and tell him, ‘You were likened to a young lion of the nations; yet you are as a monster in the seas. You broke out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.’”

כדנן אמר יי אלהים ואפרס עלך ית מצדתי בקהל עממין סגיאין ותתאחד בסריגתי:
bsrygthy wththakhd sgyayn emmyn bqhl mtsdthy yth elk waprs alhym yy amr kdnn
The Lord Yahweh says: “I will spread out my net on you with a company of many peoples. They will bring you up in my net.

וארטשינך בארעא על אפי ברא ארמי נבילתך ואשרי עלך כל עופא דשמיא ואסבע מנך חית כל ארעא:
area kl khyth mnk wasbe dshmya ewpa kl elk washry nbylthk army bra apy el barea warTshynk
I will leave you on the land. I will cast you out on the open field, and will cause all the birds of the sky to settle on you. I will satisfy the animals of the whole earth with you.

ואתן ית בסר קטילך על טוריא ויתמלון חיליא פגרי משריתך:
mshrythk pgry khylya wythmlwn Twrya el qTylk bsr yth wathn
I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your height.

וארוי ארעא דהניתא מדמך על טוריא ופצידיא יתמלון מנך:
mnk ythmlwn wptsydya Twrya el mdmk dhnytha area warwy
I will also water the land in which you swim with your blood, even to the mountains. The watercourses will be full of you.

ותחפינך עקא באכהיותי ית זיו יקר מלכותך מן שמיא יזערון עם משריתך דהוו סגיאין ככובייא מלך במשריתיה יחפינך בעננא דסליק וחפי ית שמשא וכסהרא ביממא לא מזהר נהוריה:
nhwryh mzhr la bymma wkshra shmsha yth wkhpy dslyq benna ykhpynk bmshrythyh mlk kkwbyya sgyayn dhww mshrythk em yzerwn shmya mn mlkwthk yqr zyw yth bakhywthy eqa wthkhpynk
When I extinguish you, I will cover the heavens and make its stars dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon won’t give its light.

כל שבילי אורחתיך דמתקנין ונטירן בגויך הא כמנהרי זהריא בשמיא אקלקלינון עלך ותחפי עקא כקבלא ית ארעך אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr arek yth kqbla eqa wthkhpy elk aqlqlynwn bshmya zhrya kmnhry ha bgwyk wnTyrn dmthqnyn awrkhthyk shbyly kl
I will make all the bright lights of the sky dark over you, and set darkness on your land,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ואזיע לב עממין סגיאין באיתיותי תבירי קרבך לביני עממיא למדינן דלא ידעתינון:
ydethynwn dla lmdynn emmya lbyny qrbk thbyry baythywthy sgyayn emmyn lb wazye
“I will also trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you have not known.

ואצדי עלך עממין סגיאין ומלכיהון יתמהון עלך תימה באיתיותי עלך דקטלין בחרבא ואינון חזן ויזועון מן קדם תברהון גבר לנפשיה ביום מפלת קטילך:
qTylk mplth bywm lnpshyh gbr thbrhwn qdm mn wyzwewn khzn waynwn bkhrba dqTlyn elk baythywthy thymh elk ythmhwn wmlkyhwn sgyayn emmyn elk watsdy
Yes, I will make many peoples amazed at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid for you, when I brandish my sword before them. They will tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.”

ארי כדנן אמר יי אלהים קטולי חרבא מלכא דבבל ייתון עלך:
elk yythwn dbbl mlka khrba qTwly alhym yy amr kdnn ary
For the Lord Yahweh says: “The sword of the king of Babylon will come on you.

בחרבא דגבריא אמגר משריתך תקיפי עממיא כולהון ויבזון ית תקוף מצרים ותשתיצי כל אתרגושתהא:
athrgwshthha kl wthshthytsy mtsrym thqwp yth wybzwn kwlhwn emmya thqypy mshrythk amgr dgbrya bkhrba
I will cause your multitude to fall by the swords of the mighty. They are all the ruthless of the nations. They will bring the pride of Egypt to nothing, and all its multitude will be destroyed.

ואוביד ית כל בעירה מעל מיין סגיאין ולא תזועונון רגלי דאנשא עוד ופרסת בעירא לא תזועונון:
thzwewnwn la beyra wprsth ewd dansha rgly thzwewnwn wla sgyayn myyn mel beyrh kl yth wawbyd
I will destroy also all its animals from beside many waters. The foot of man won’t trouble them any more, nor will the hoofs of animals trouble them.

בכן אשקיט לעממיא ומלכיהון בניח אדבר אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr adbr bnykh wmlkyhwn lemmya ashqyT bkn
Then I will make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil,” says the Lord Yahweh.

כד אתן ית ארעא דמצרים צדו ותצדי ארעא ומלאה באיתיותי מחא על כל דיתבין בה וידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wydewn bh dythbyn kl el mkha baythywthy wmlah area wthtsdy tsdw dmtsrym area yth athn kd
“When I make the land of Egypt desolate and waste, a land destitute of that of which it was full, when I strike all those who dwell therein, then they will know that I am Yahweh.

אמר נביא אליא היא נבואתה ותהי לאליא כפרני עממיא יללון יתה על מצרים ועל כל אתרגושתה ילילון יתה אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr ythh ylylwn athrgwshthh kl wel mtsrym el ythh yllwn emmya kprny lalya wthhy nbwathh hya alya nbya amr
“‘“This is the lamentation with which they will lament. The daughters of the nations will lament with this. They will lament with it over Egypt, and over all her multitude,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

והוה בתרתא עסרי שנין בחמשא עסר לירחא הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh lyrkha esr bkhmsha shnyn esry bthrtha whwh
Also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם אתנבי על אתרגושת מצרים ותחתה לה ולכפרני עממיא תקיפיא אתנבי דיתמסרון לארעא ארעיתא עם נחתי גוב בית אבדנא:
abdna byth gwb nkhthy em areytha larea dythmsrwn athnby thqypya emmya wlkprny lh wthkhthh mtsrym athrgwshth el athnby adm br
“Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her and the daughters of the famous nations, to the lower parts of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.

ממן את גבר חות ושכיב עם חיביא:
khybya em wshkyb khwth gbr ath mmn
Whom do you pass in beauty? Go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.
20
בגו קטילי חרבא יתרמון לה לחרבא יתמסרון לשיצאה יתהון וית כל אתרגושתהון:
athrgwshthhwn kl wyth ythhwn lshytsah ythmsrwn lkhrba lh ythrmwn khrba qTyly bgw
They will fall among those who are slain by the sword. She is delivered to the sword. Draw her away with all her multitudes.

ימללון עמיה תקיפי גבריא מגו שאול עם סעדוהי נחיתו שכיבו חיביא קטילי חרבא:
khrba qTyly khybya shkybw nkhythw sedwhy em shawl mgw gbrya thqypy emyh ymllwn
The strong among the mighty will speak to him out of the middle of Sheol with those who help him. They have gone down. The uncircumcised lie still, slain by the sword.

תמן אתור וכל משריתה סחרנותהון קבריהון כולהון קטילין דאתקטלו בחרבא:
bkhrba dathqTlw qTylyn kwlhwn qbryhwn skhrnwthhwn mshrythh wkl athwr thmn
“Asshur is there with all her company. Her graves are all around her. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword,

דאתמסרו לקבורא בסיפי גוב בית אבדנא והות משריתהון סחרנותהון קבורתהון כולהון קטיליא דאתקטילו בחרבא דאתמסירו לתבר על דשליטו בארעא דישראל:
dyshral barea dshlyTw el lthbr dathmsyrw bkhrba dathqTylw qTylya kwlhwn qbwrthhwn skhrnwthhwn mshrythhwn whwth abdna byth gwb bsypy lqbwra dathmsrw
whose graves are set in the uttermost parts of the pit, and her company is around her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who caused terror in the land of the living.

תמן עילם וכל אתרגושתה סחרנותהון קבריהון כולהון קטיליא דאתקטלו בחרבא דאתחתו חיביא לארעא ארעיתא דאתמסירו לתבר על דשליטא בארעא דישראל וקבילו אתכנעותהון עם נחתי גוב בית אבדנא:
abdna byth gwb nkhthy em athknewthhwn wqbylw dyshral barea dshlyTa el lthbr dathmsyrw areytha larea khybya dathkhthw bkhrba dathqTlw qTylya kwlhwn qbryhwn skhrnwthhwn athrgwshthh wkl eylm thmn
“There is Elam and all her multitude around her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who have gone down uncircumcised into the lower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living, and have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit.
25
בגו קטיליא אתמנא בית משכבהון להון בכל אתרגושתהון סחרנותהון קבריהון כולהון חיביא קטילי חרבא דאתמסרו לתבר על דשליטו בארעא דישראל וקבילו אתכנעותהון עם נחתי גוב בית אבדנא בגו קטיליא אתמסירו:
athmsyrw qTylya bgw abdna byth gwb nkhthy em athknewthhwn wqbylw dyshral barea dshlyTw el lthbr dathmsrw khrba qTyly khybya kwlhwn qbryhwn skhrnwthhwn athrgwshthhwn bkl lhwn mshkbhwn byth athmna qTylya bgw
They have made Elam a bed among the slain with all her multitude. Her graves are around her, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for their terror was caused in the land of the living, and they have borne their shame with those who go down to the pit. He is put among those who are slain.

תמן משך תובל וכל משריתהון סחרניהון קבורתהון כולהון חיביא קטילי חרבא דאתמסרו לתבר על דשליטו בארעא דישראל:
dyshral barea dshlyTw el lthbr dathmsrw khrba qTyly khybya kwlhwn qbwrthhwn skhrnyhwn mshrythhwn wkl thwbl mshk thmn
“There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitude. Their graves are around them, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword; for they caused their terror in the land of the living.

ולא ישכבון עם גבריא דאתקטלו מחיביא דאתחתו לשאול במני קרביהון ויחבו ית סיפיהון תחות רישיהון והוו חוביהון על גרמיהון ארי אתמסירו לתבר גבריא על דשליטו בארעא דישראל:
dyshral barea dshlyTw el gbrya lthbr athmsyrw ary grmyhwn el khwbyhwn whww ryshyhwn thkhwth sypyhwn yth wykhbw qrbyhwn bmny lshawl dathkhthw mkhybya dathqTlw gbrya em yshkbwn wla
They will not lie with the mighty who are fallen of the uncircumcised, who have gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war and have laid their swords under their heads. Their iniquities are on their bones; for they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
28
ואת בגו חיביא תתבר ותשכוב עם קטילי חרבא:
khrba qTyly em wthshkwb ththbr khybya bgw wath
“But you will be broken among the uncircumcised, and will lie with those who are slain by the sword.
29
תמן אדום מלכהא וכל רברבהא דאתמסירו בגבורתהון עם קטילי חרבא אינון עם חיביא ישכבון ועם נחתי גוב בית אבדנא:
abdna byth gwb nkhthy wem yshkbwn khybya em aynwn khrba qTyly em bgbwrthhwn dathmsyrw rbrbha wkl mlkha adwm thmn
“There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who in their might are laid with those who are slain by the sword. They will lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the pit.

תמן רברבי צפונא כולהון וכל צידונאי דאתחתו עם קטיליא באתברותהון מגבורתהון בהתין ושכיבו חיביא עם קטילי חרבא וקבילו אתכנעותהון עם נחתי גוב בית אבדנא:
abdna byth gwb nkhthy em athknewthhwn wqbylw khrba qTyly em khybya wshkybw bhthyn mgbwrthhwn bathbrwthhwn qTylya em dathkhthw tsydwnay wkl kwlhwn tspwna rbrby thmn
“There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, who have gone down with the slain. They are put to shame in the terror which they caused by their might. They lie uncircumcised with those who are slain by the sword, and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.

יתהון יחזי פרעה ויתנחם על כל אתרגושתה קטילי חרבא פרעה וכל משריתיה אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr mshrythyh wkl preh khrba qTyly athrgwshthh kl el wythnkhm preh ykhzy ythhwn
“Pharaoh will see them and will be comforted over all his multitude, even Pharaoh and all his army, slain by the sword,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ארי אתמסירו לתבר גבריא על דשליטו בארעא ושכיבו בגו חיביא עם קטילי חרבא דפרעה וכל אתרגושתיה אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr athrgwshthyh wkl dpreh khrba qTyly em khybya bgw wshkybw barea dshlyTw el gbrya lthbr athmsyrw ary
“For I have put his terror in the land of the living. He will be laid among the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his multitude,” says the Lord Yahweh.
