ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܝܠܠܘ ܘܐܡܪܘ ܐܘܗ̇ ܠܝܘܡܐ
lywm' 'wh w'mrw 'yllw mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' w'mr 'thnb' 'nsh' br
“Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’

ܕܩܪܝܒ ܗܘ ܝܘܡܐ ܩܪܝܒ ܗܘ ܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܥܢܢܐ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ
demm' wzbn' denn' ywm' dmry' ywmh hw qryb ywm' hw dqryb
For the day is near, even Yahweh’s day is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

ܘܬܐܬܐ ܚܪܒܐ ܥܠ ܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܘܠܗܝܐ ܒܟܘܫ ܡܐ ܕܢܦܠܘ ܚܪ̈ܝܒܐ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܣܒܘܢ ܥܘܬܪܗ̇ ܘܢܥܩܪܘܢ ܫ̈ܬܐܣܝܗ̇
shth'syh wneqrwn ewthrh wnsbwn bmtsryn khryb' dnplw m' bkwsh bwlhy' wnhw' mtsryn el khrb' wth'th'
A sword will come on Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt. They take away her multitude, and her foundations are broken down.

ܘܟܘܫ̈ܝܐ ܘܦܘ̈ܛܝܐ ܘܠܘܒ̈ܝܐ ܘܟܠܗ̇ ܥܪܒܝܐ ܘܟܘܒ ܘܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܩܝܡܐ ܥܡܗܘܢ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ

“‘“Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all the mixed people, Cub, and the children of the land that is allied with them, will fall with them by the sword.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܣܡ̈ܟܝܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܬܬܒܪ ܚܝܠܐ ܕܥܘܫܢܗ̇ ܡܢ ܡܓܕܠܐ ܕܣܘܢܐ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr bh nplwn bkhrb' dswn' mgdl' mn dewshnh khyl' wnththbr dmtsryn smkyh nplwn mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn'
“‘Yahweh says: “They also who uphold Egypt will fall. The pride of her power will come down. They will fall by the sword in it from the tower of Seveneh,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ܘܢܚܪ̈ܒܢ ܒܝܢܬ ܐܪ̈ܥܬܐ ܕܚܪ̈ܒܢ ܘܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܗܝܢ ܒܝܢܬ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܚܪ̈ܒܬܐ ܢܗ̈ܘܝܢ
nhwyn khrbth' mdynth' bynth wmdynthhyn dkhrbn 'reth' bynth wnkhrbn
“They will be desolate in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities will be among the cities that are wasted.

ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܫܒܩ̇ܬ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܐܬܬܒܪܘ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܡܥܕܪ̈ܢܝܗ̇

They will know that I am Yahweh when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers are destroyed.

ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܦܩܘܢ ܡܠܐ̈ܟܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܡܣܪܗܒܐܝܬ ܠܡܚܒܠܘ ܠܟܘܫ ܕܝܬ̇ܒܐ ܒܫܠܝܐ ܘܢܗܘܐ ܒܗܘܢ ܕܠܘܚܝܐ ܒܝܘܡܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܗܐ ܡܛܝ
mTy wh' dmtsryn bywmh dlwkhy' bhwn wnhw' bshly' dythb' lkwsh lmkhblw msrhb'yth qdmy mn ml'k' npqwn hw bywm' bh
“‘“In that day messengers will go out from before me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid. There will be anguish on them, as in the day of Egypt; for, behold, it comes.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܫܠܡ ܐܢܐ ܥܘܬܪܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܒܝܕ ܢܒܘܟܕܢܨܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ

“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

ܠܗ ܘܠܥܫ̈ܝܢܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܬ̇ܝܢ ܠܡܚܒܠܘ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܘܢܫܡܛܘܢ ܣ̈ܝܦܝܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܡܠܘܢܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܚܪ̈ܝܒܐ
khryb' l're' wnmlwnh mtsryn el sypyhwn wnshmTwn l're' lmkhblw d'thyn demm' wleshyn' lh
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

ܘܐܥܒܕ ܢܗܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܠܚܒܠܐ ܘܐܫܠܡܝܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܒܝ̈ܫܐ ܘܐܚܪܒܝܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܒܡܠܐܗ̇ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܠ̇ܬ
mllth mry' 'n' dnwkry' b'yd' bml'h l're' w'khrbyh dbysh' b'yd' l're' w'shlmyh lkhbl' nhrwth' w'ebd
I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men. I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܘܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܘܡܒܛܠ ܐܢܐ ܕܚ̈ܠܬܐ ܡܢ ܡܦܣ ܘܬܘܒ ܪܒܐ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn b're' nhw' l' rb' wthwb mps mn dkhlth' 'n' wmbTl pthkr' 'n' mwbd mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn'
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis. There will be no more a prince from the land of Egypt. I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

ܘܐܒܛܠܝܗ̇ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܦܬܪܘܣ ܘܐܫܒܘܩ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܨܥܢ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܕܝܢܐ ܒܢܘ

ܘܐܫܘܕ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܥܠ ܣܝܢ ܥܘܫܢܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܐܘܒܕ ܥܘܬܪܗ̇ ܕܢܘ

ܘܐܫܒܘܩ ܢܘܪܐ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܬܕܠܚ ܣܝܢ ܘܢܘ ܬܬܪܥ ܘܡܦܣ ܬܗܘܐ ܠܡܦܘܠܬܐ
lmpwlth' thhw' wmps ththre wnw syn wnthdlkh bmtsryn nwr' w'shbwq

ܘܐܝܟ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܓܕܘ̈ܕܐ ܕܡܦܝܒܣܬ ܘܒܣܝܦܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܘܒܫܒܝܐ ܢܐܙܠܘܢ

The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth will fall by the sword. They will go into captivity.

ܘܒܬܚܦܝܣ ܢܥܪܒ ܝܘܡܐ ܡܐ ܕܬܒ̇ܪܬ ܬܡܢ ܚܘܛܪܗ̇ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܒܛܠ ܡܢܗ̇ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܥܘܫܢܗ̇ ܘܬܟܣܝܗ̇ ܥܢܢܐ ܘܒܢ̈ܬܗ̇ ܢܐ̈ܙܠܢ ܒܫܒܝܐ
bshby' n'zln wbnthh enn' wthksyh dewshnh shwbkh' mnh wbTl dmtsryn khwTrh thmn dthbrth m' ywm' nerb wbthkhpys

ܘܐܥܒܕ ܕܝܢܐ ܒܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ

Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

ܒܫܢܬ ܚܕܥܣܪ̈ܐ ܒܫܒܥܬܐ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ
lm'mr dmry' pthgmh ely hw' qdmy' byrkh' bshbeth' khdesr' bshnth
In the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܪܥܗ ܕܦܪܥܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܬܒ̇ܪܬ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܥܨܒ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܐܣܝܘܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܬܣܝܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܡܠܓܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܥܨܒ ܘܠܐ ܢܬܚܠܡ ܕܢܐܚܘܕ ܣܝܦܐ

“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Behold, it has not been bound up, to apply medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it may become strong to hold the sword.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܦܪܥܘܢ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܘܐܬܒܪ ܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܐ ܘܐܪܡܐ ܣܝܦܐ ܡܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ
'ydwhy mn syp' w'rm' eshyn' drewhy w'thbr dmtsryn mlk' prewn el 'n' h' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' hn' mTl
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong arm, and that which was broken. I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

ܘܐܒܕܪܝܗ̇ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܕܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܡ̈ܕܝܢܬܐ

I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

ܘܐܚܝܠ ܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܐܬܠ ܣܝܦܝ ܒܐܝ̈ܕܘܗܝ ܘܢܦܣܘܩ ܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܕܦܪܥܘܢ ܘܢܬܬܢܚ ܬܐ̈ܢܚܬܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ
qdmwhy dqTyl' th'nkhth' wnththnkh dprewn drewhy wnpswq b'ydwhy sypy w'thl dbbl dmlk' drewhy w'khyl
I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.

ܘܐܥܫܢ ܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܕܪ̈ܥܘܗܝ ܕܦܪܥܘܢ ܢܦܠܘܢ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܝܗܒ̇ܬ ܣܝܦܝ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܘܗܝ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܫܡܛܗ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ

I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall down. Then they will know that I am Yahweh when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out on the land of Egypt.

ܘܐܒܕܪܝܗ̇ ܠܡܨܪܝܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܕܪܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܡܕܝܢܬ̈ܐ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn bmdynth' 'nwn w'dr' bemm' lmtsryn w'bdryh
I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”
