והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,
2
בר אדם אתנבי ותימר כדנן אמר יי אלהים אילילו ואמרו וי מן קדם יומא:
ywma qdm mn wy wamrw aylylw alhym yy amr kdnn wthymr athnby adm br
“Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’

ארי קריב יומא וקריב יומא דעתיד למיתי מן קדם יי יום ענן זיע תבר עממיא יהי:
yhy emmya thbr zye enn ywm yy qdm mn lmythy dethyd ywma wqryb ywma qryb ary
For the day is near, even Yahweh’s day is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

ותחול חרבא במצרים ויהי זיע בכוש כד יתרמון קטילין במצרים וישבון אתרגושתה ויתפגרון אושותהא:
awshwthha wythpgrwn athrgwshthh wyshbwn bmtsrym qTylyn ythrmwn kd bkwsh zye wyhy bmtsrym khrba wthkhwl
A sword will come on Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt. They take away her multitude, and her foundations are broken down.

כושאי ופוטאי ולודאי וכל סומכותא וכוב ובני ארעא קימא עמהון בחרבא יתקטלון:
ythqTlwn bkhrba emhwn qyma area wbny wkwb swmkwtha wkl wlwday wpwTay kwshay
“‘“Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all the mixed people, Cub, and the children of the land that is allied with them, will fall with them by the sword.”

כדנן אמר יי ויתקטלון סעדי מצרים ויבטל יקר תוקפה ממגדול סונה בחרבא יתקטלון בה אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr bh ythqTlwn bkhrba swnh mmgdwl thwqph yqr wybTl mtsrym sedy wythqTlwn yy amr kdnn
“‘Yahweh says: “They also who uphold Egypt will fall. The pride of her power will come down. They will fall by the sword in it from the tower of Seveneh,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ויצדון בגו מדינן דצדין וקרווהי בגו קרוין דהואה חרבן יהוין:
yhwyn khrbn dhwah qrwyn bgw wqrwwhy dtsdyn mdynn bgw wytsdwn
“They will be desolate in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities will be among the cities that are wasted.

וידעון ארי אנא יי בדאתן עממיא דתקיפין כאשתא על מצרים ויתברון כל סעידהא:
seydha kl wythbrwn mtsrym el kashtha dthqypyn emmya bdathn yy ana ary wydewn
They will know that I am Yahweh when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers are destroyed.

בעדנא ההיא יפקון אזגדין מן קדמי בלגיונין לאזעא כוש דשריא לרוחצן ויהי זיעא בהון כיום מצרים ארי הא אתיא:
athya ha ary mtsrym kywm bhwn zyea wyhy lrwkhtsn dshrya kwsh lazea blgywnyn qdmy mn azgdyn ypqwn hhya bedna
“‘“In that day messengers will go out from before me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid. There will be anguish on them, as in the day of Egypt; for, behold, it comes.”

כדנן אמר יי אלהים ואבטיל ית אתרגושת מצרים ביד נבוכדראצר מלכא דבבל:
dbbl mlka nbwkdratsr byd mtsrym athrgwshth yth wabTyl alhym yy amr kdnn
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

הוא ועמיה עמיה תקיפי עממיא אתן לחבלא ארעא וישלפון סיפיהון על מצרים וימלון ית ארעא קטילין:
qTylyn area yth wymlwn mtsrym el sypyhwn wyshlpwn area lkhbla athn emmya thqypy emyh wemyh hwa
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

ואתן נהריהון יבשתא ואמסר ית ארעא ביד מבאשין ואצדי ארעא ומלהא ביד רשיעין אנא יי גזרית במימרי:
bmymry gzryth yy ana rshyeyn byd wmlha area watsdy mbashyn byd area yth wamsr ybshtha nhryhwn wathn
I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men. I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”

כדנן אמר יי אלהים ואביד דפלחין לטעותא ואשיצי דפלחין לצלמניא ממפס ומלכא מארעא דמצרים דחלא במצרים:
bmtsrym dkhla dmtsrym marea wmlka mmps ltslmnya dplkhyn washytsy lTewtha dplkhyn wabyd alhym yy amr kdnn
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis. There will be no more a prince from the land of Egypt. I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

ואצדי ית פתרוס ואיתי עמא דתקיפין כאשתא על טאניס ואעביד פורענות דינין באלכסנדריא:
balksndrya dynyn pwrenwth waebyd Tanys el kashtha dthqypyn ema waythy pthrws yth watsdy
I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments on No.

ואשפוך חימתי על סין תקוף מצרים ואשיצי ית אתרגושת אלכסנדריא:
alksndrya athrgwshth yth washytsy mtsrym thqwp syn el khymthy washpwk
I will pour my wrath on Sin, the stronghold of Egypt. I will cut off the multitude of No.

ואיתי עממיא דתקיפין כאשתא במצרים מזע תזוע סין ואלכסנדריא תהי מתרעא משור ומפיס בעלי דבבו יקפונה יום יום:
ywm ywm yqpwnh dbbw bely wmpys mshwr mthrea thhy walksndrya syn thzwe mze bmtsrym kashtha dthqypyn emmya waythy
I will set a fire in Egypt Sin will be in great anguish. No will be broken up. Memphis will have adversaries in the daytime.

עולימי און ופיבסת בחרבא יתקטלון ופלחיהון בשביא יהכון:
yhkwn bshbya wplkhyhwn ythqTlwn bkhrba wpybsth awn ewlymy
The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth will fall by the sword. They will go into captivity.
18
ועל תחפנחס איתי חשוך בימם כד אתבר תמן ית תקוף מצרים ויבטל בה יקר תוקפה מלך במשריתיה יחפינה כעננא דסליק וחפי ית ארעא ויתבי כפרנהא בשביא יהכון:
yhkwn bshbya kprnha wythby area yth wkhpy dslyq kenna ykhpynh bmshrythyh mlk thwqph yqr bh wybTl mtsrym thqwp yth thmn athbr kd bymm khshwk aythy thkhpnkhs wel
At Tehaphnehes also the day will withdraw itself, when I break the yokes of Egypt there. The pride of her power will cease in her. As for her, a cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity.

ואעבד פורענות דינין במצרים וידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wydewn bmtsrym dynyn pwrenwth waebd
Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”
20
והוה בחדא עשרי שנין בקדמאה בשבעא לירחא הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh lyrkha bshbea bqdmah shnyn eshry bkhda whwh
In the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם ית תקיף פרעה מלכא דמצרים תברית והא לא מתקפא לאתסאה למתן עיצה למחכם לאתקפא למיחד מלכו:
mlkw lmykhd lathqpa lmkhkm eytsh lmthn lathsah mthqpa la wha thbryth dmtsrym mlka preh thqyp yth adm br
“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Behold, it has not been bound up, to apply medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it may become strong to hold the sword.

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא שלח רוגזי על פרעה מלכא דמצרים ואתבר ית סעדוהי וית שלטונוהי תקיפיא דבהון הוא תבר ית מלכותא וארמי ית תוקפא מניה:
mnyh thwqpa yth warmy mlkwtha yth thbr hwa dbhwn thqypya shlTwnwhy wyth sedwhy yth wathbr dmtsrym mlka preh el rwgzy shlkh ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong arm, and that which was broken. I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

ואגלי ית מצראי ביני עממיא ואבדרינון במדינתא:
bmdyntha wabdrynwn emmya byny mtsray yth wagly
I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
24
ואתקיף ית מלכות מלכא דבבל ואתן ית תוקפי בידיה ואתבר ית תקוף פרעה וינהם נהום מטעני חרב קדמוהי:
qdmwhy khrb mTeny nhwm wynhm preh thqwp yth wathbr bydyh thwqpy yth wathn dbbl mlka mlkwth yth wathqyp
I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.

ואתקיף ית מלכות מלכא דבבל ומלכות פרעה תבטל וידעון ארי אנא יי כד אתן תוקפי ביד מלכא דבבל ויתפרע פורענות מן ארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym area mn pwrenwth wythpre dbbl mlka byd thwqpy athn kd yy ana ary wydewn thbTl preh wmlkwth dbbl mlka mlkwth yth wathqyp
I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall down. Then they will know that I am Yahweh when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out on the land of Egypt.
