1
והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,
2
בר אדם אמר למלכא דצור כדנן אמר ליבך ואמרת דחלא אנא יי אלהים חלף דראים מותב תקיפין יתיבית בגו ימיא ואת אנשא ולית בך צרוך וחשבתא בליבך דאת דחלא:
dkhla dath blybk wkhshbtha tsrwk bk wlyth ansha wath ymya bgw ythybyth thqypyn mwthb draym khlp alhym yy ana dkhla wamrth lybk amr kdnn dtswr lmlka amr adm br
“Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the middle of the seas;’ yet you are man, and no god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god—

הא חכים את מדניאל וכל רז לא יתכסא מנך:
mnk ythksa la rz wkl mdnyal ath khkym ha
behold, you are wiser than Daniel. There is no secret that is hidden from you.
4
בחוכמתך ובסכלתנותך קניתא לך נכסין וכנשתא דהבא וכספא באוצרך:
bawtsrk wkspa dhba wknshtha nksyn lk qnytha wbsklthnwthk bkhwkmthk
By your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten yourself riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasuries.

בסגי חוכמתך ובסחורתך סגיאה משריתך וראים לבך במשריתך:
bmshrythk lbk wraym mshrythk sgyah wbskhwrthk khwkmthk bsgy
By your great wisdom and by your trading you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches—”

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים חלף דחשבתא בלבך דאת דחלא:
dkhla dath blbk dkhshbtha khlp alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
“‘therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,

בכן הא אנא מיתי עלך נוכראין תקיפי עממיא וישלפון סיפיהון על תקון חוכמתך ויחבלון זיו אימתך:
aymthk zyw wykhblwn khwkmthk thqwn el sypyhwn wyshlpwn emmya thqypy nwkrayn elk mythy ana ha bkn
therefore, behold, I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom. They will defile your brightness.

לחבלא יחתונך ותמות ממת מטעני חרבא בגו ימיא:
ymya bgw khrba mTeny mmth wthmwth ykhthwnk lkhbla
They will bring you down to the pit. You will die the death of those who are slain in the heart of the seas.
9
המימר תימר דחלא אנא קדם דקטלך ואת אנשא ולית בך צרוך ביד מחבלך:
mkhblk byd tsrwk bk wlyth ansha wath dqTlk qdm ana dkhla thymr hmymr
Will you yet say before him who kills you, ‘I am God’? But you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.

ממת רשיעין תמות ביד נוכראין ארי אנא גזרית במימרי אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr bmymry gzryth ana ary nwkrayn byd thmwth rshyeyn mmth
You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם טול איליא על מלכא דצור ותימר ליה כדנן אמר יי אלהים את דמי למנא דצורתא די מתקן בחוכמתא ומשכלל בשופריה:
bshwpryh wmshkll bkhwkmtha mthqn dy dtswrtha lmna dmy ath alhym yy amr kdnn lyh wthymr dtswr mlka el aylya Twl adm br
“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and tell him, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “You were the seal of full measure, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

בסגי טבון ותפנוקין את מתפנק כאילו בעדן גנתא דיי את שרי כל עתרא גיותא ויקרא מתיהב לך כל אבנין טבין מסרדן על לבושך סמקן ירקן וסבהלום כרום ימא ובורלא ופנתירין שבזיז אזמררגדין וברקן משקען בדהב כל אלין עבידת תקונך בכן ראים לבך ברם לא אסתכלת בפגרך דאתעביד חללין ונקבין דאינון צורכן דלא אפשר לך דתתקיים בלא בהון מיומא דאתבריתא עמך מתקנין:
mthqnyn emk dathbrytha mywma bhwn bla dththqyym lk apshr dla tswrkn daynwn wnqbyn khllyn dathebyd bpgrk asthklth la brm lbk raym bkn thqwnk ebydth alyn kl bdhb mshqen wbrqn azmrrgdyn shbzyz wpnthyryn wbwrla yma krwm wsbhlwm yrqn smqn lbwshk el msrdn Tbyn abnyn kl lk mthyhb wyqra gywtha ethra kl shry ath dyy gntha bedn kaylw mthpnq ath wthpnwqyn Tbwn bsgy
You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. They were prepared in the day that you were created.

את מלך מרבא למלכו ויהבית לך רבותא ואת על טור קודשא דיי בסרתא ובעמא קדישא סברתא למשלט:
lmshlT sbrtha qdysha wbema bsrtha dyy qwdsha Twr el wath rbwtha lk wyhbyth lmlkw mrba mlk ath
You were the anointed cherub who covers. Then I set you up on the holy mountain of God. You have walked up and down in the middle of the stones of fire.

שלים את באורחך מיומא דאתבריתא עד דאשתכח שקר ביך:
byk shqr dashthkkh ed dathbrytha mywma bawrkhk ath shlym
You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.
16
בסגיאות סחורתך אתמליאו אוצרך חטוף וחבתא ואפסינך על דבסרת על טור קודשא דיי ואבדינך מלכא דרבתנא על די סברתא למשלט בעמא קדישא:
qdysha bema lmshlT sbrtha dy el drbthna mlka wabdynk dyy qwdsha Twr el dbsrth el wapsynk wkhbtha khTwp awtsrk athmlyaw skhwrthk bsgyawth
By the abundance of your commerce, your insides were filled with violence, and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane out of God’s mountain. I have destroyed you, covering cherub, from the middle of the stones of fire.

ראים לבך בתוקפך אתחבלת בחוכמתך על זיו אימתך על ארעא רטשתך אזהרא למלכיא יהבתיך לאסתכלא בך:
bk lasthkla yhbthyk lmlkya azhra rTshthk area el aymthk zyw el bkhwkmthk athkhblth bthwqpk lbk raym
Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may see you.

מסגי חובך בשקר סחורתך אפיסתא מקדשך ואיתי עממיא דתקיפין כאשתא מחובי זדונך אינון ישיצונך ואתנינך כקטם על ארעא לעיני כל חזך:
khzk kl leyny area el kqTm wathnynk yshytswnk aynwn zdwnk mkhwby kashtha dthqypyn emmya waythy mqdshk apystha skhwrthk bshqr khwbk msgy
By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the middle of you. It has devoured you. I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you.
19
כל דידעך בעממיא צדיאו עלך כדלא הוית אתנינך וכן תהי עד עלמא:
elma ed thhy wkn athnynk hwyth kdla elk tsdyaw bemmya dydek kl
All those who know you among the peoples will be astonished at you. You have become a terror, and you will exist no more.”’”

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
21
בר אדם קביל נבואה על צידון ואתנבי עלה:
elh wathnby tsydwn el nbwah qbyl adm br
“Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,
22
ותימר כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא שלח רוגזי עלך צידון ואתיקר בנייך וידעון ארי אנא יי כד אעביד ביך פורענות דינין ואתקדש בה:
bh wathqdsh dynyn pwrenwth byk aebyd kd yy ana ary wydewn bnyyk wathyqr tsydwn elk rwgzy shlkh ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn wthymr
and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Sidon. I will be glorified among you. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have executed judgments in her, and am sanctified in her.

ואשלח בה מותא וקטלא בשוקהא כד יתרמון קטילין בגוה באיתיותי עלה דקטלין בחרבא מסחור סחור וידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wydewn skhwr mskhwr bkhrba dqTlyn elh baythywthy bgwh qTylyn ythrmwn kd bshwqha wqTla mwtha bh washlkh
For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets. The wounded will fall within her, with the sword on her on every side. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.

ולא יהי עוד לבית ישראל מלך מבאיש ושלטון מעיק מכל סחרניהון דבזזין יתהון וידעון ארי אנא יי אלהים:
alhym yy ana ary wydewn ythhwn dbzzyn skhrnyhwn mkl meyq wshlTwn mbaysh mlk yshral lbyth ewd yhy wla
“‘“There will no longer be a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are around them that scorned them. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”

כדנן אמר יי אלהים כד אכנש ית בית ישראל מביני עממיא דאתבדרו לתמן ואתקדש בהון לעיני עממיא ויתובון על ארעהון דיהבית לעבדי ליעקב:
lyeqb lebdy dyhbyth arehwn el wythwbwn emmya leyny bhwn wathqdsh lthmn dathbdrw emmya mbyny yshral byth yth aknsh kd alhym yy amr kdnn
“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am shown as holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

ויתובון עלה לרוחצן ויבנון בתין ויצבון כרמין ויתבון לרוחצן כד אעביד פורענות דינין מכל דבזזין יתהון מסחרניהון וידעון ארי אנא יי אלההון:
alhhwn yy ana ary wydewn mskhrnyhwn ythhwn dbzzyn mkl dynyn pwrenwth aebyd kd lrwkhtsn wythbwn krmyn wytsbwn bthyn wybnwn lrwkhtsn elh wythwbwn
They will dwell in it securely. Yes, they will build houses, plant vineyards, and will dwell securely when I have executed judgments on all those around them who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am Yahweh their God.”’”
