Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܪܒܐ ܕܨܘܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܠܒܟ ܘܐܡܪܬ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܡܘܬܒܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܝܬܒ̇ܬ ܒܠܒܐ ܕܝܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܢܬ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܚܫܒܬ ܠܒܟ ܐܝܟ ܠܒܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

“Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the middle of the seas;’ yet you are man, and no god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god—

ܕܠܡܐ ܚܟܝܡ ܐܢܬ ܡܢ ܕܢܝܐܝܠ ܐܘ ܟܣ̈ܝܬܐ ܚ̣ܙܝܬ ܒܚܟܝܡܘܬܟ
bkhkymwthk khzyth ksyth' 'w dny'yl mn 'nth khkym dlm'
behold, you are wiser than Daniel. There is no secret that is hidden from you.

ܘܒܣܘܟܠܟ ܥܒܕܬ ܠܟ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܚܡܠܬ ܣܐܡܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܒܝܬ ܓܙܝ̈ܟ
gzyk byth wdhb' s'm' wkhmlth khyl' lk ebdth wbswklk
By your wisdom and by your understanding you have gotten yourself riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasuries.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܚܟܡܬܟ ܘܕܬܐܓܘܪܬܟ ܐܣܓܝܬ ܥܘܬܪܟ ܘܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܠܒܟ ܒܥܘܬܪܟ
bewthrk lbk w'ththrym ewthrk 'sgyth wdth'gwrthk dkhkmthk bswg''
By your great wisdom and by your trading you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches—”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܚܫܒܬ ܠܒܟ ܐܝܟ ܠܒܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

“‘therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Because you have set your heart as the heart of God,

ܗܐ ܡܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܥܫ̈ܝܢܐ ܕܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܢܫܡܛܘܢ ܣܝ̈ܦܝܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܫܘܦܪܗ ܕܚܟܡܬܟ ܘܢܛܢܦܘܢ ܫܘܒܚܟ

therefore, behold, I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom. They will defile your brightness.

ܘܢܚܬܘܢܟ ܠܚܒܠܐ ܘܬܡܘܬ ܡܘܬܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܒܠܒܐ ܕܝܡ̈ܡܐ
dymm' blb' dqTyl' mwth' wthmwth lkhbl' wnkhthwnk
They will bring you down to the pit. You will die the death of those who are slain in the heart of the seas.

ܕܠܡܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܐܢܬ ܩܕܡ ܩܛܘ̈ܠܝܟ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܢܬ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܘܠܝܟ ܘܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܐܠܗܐ
'lh' hwyth wl' dqTwlyk b'yd' 'nth dbrnsh' mTl 'n' d'lh' qTwlyk qdm 'nth 'mr dlm'
Will you yet say before him who kills you, ‘I am God’? But you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.

ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܥܘܪ̈ܠܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܬܡܘܬ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܠ̇ܠܬ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr mllth d'n' mTl thmwth nwkry' dewrl' b'yd'
You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܠܝ ܐܘܠܝܬܐ ܥܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܨܘܪ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܢܬ ܛܒܥܐ ܐܢܬ ܕܕܡܘܬܐ ܕܡܠܐ ܚܟܡܬܐ ܘܟܠܝܠܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܐ

“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and tell him, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “You were the seal of full measure, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

ܒܥܕܢ ܦܪܕܝܣܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܐܬܚܙܩܬ ܣܪܕܘܢ ܘܩܪܟܕܢܐ ܘܐܙܡܪܓܕܐ ܘܒܪܘܠܐ ܘܣܦܝܠܐ ܘܐܝܣܦܘܢ ܘܩܪܘܣܛܠܘܣ ܘܡܪ̈ܓܢܝܬܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܡܠܝܬ ܒܝܬ ܓܙܝ̈ܟ ܘܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܛܒ̈ܬܐ ܒܝܬ ܚ̈ܡܠܝܟ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܬܒܪܝܬ

You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz, emerald, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and beryl. Gold work of tambourines and of pipes was in you. They were prepared in the day that you were created.

ܘܗܘܝܬ ܥܡ ܟܪܘܒܐ ܕܡܫܝܚ ܘܡܛܠ ܘܝܗܒ̇ܬܟ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܗܘܝܬ ܒܝܢܬ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ
dnwr' k'p' bynth whwyth d'lh' dqwdshh bTwr' wyhbthk wmTl dmshykh krwb' em whwyth
You were the anointed cherub who covers. Then I set you up on the holy mountain of God. You have walked up and down in the middle of the stones of fire.

ܘܗܠܟܬ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟ ܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܬܒܪܝܬ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܫܬܟܚ ܒܟ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ
ewl' bk d'shthkkh wedm' d'thbryth ywm' mn b'wrkhthk mwm dl' whlkth
You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܬܐܓܘܪܬܟ ܡܠܝܬ ܓܘܟ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܚܛܝܬ ܘܩܛܠ̇ܬܟ ܡܢ ܛܘܪܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܐܘܒܕܟ ܟܪܘܒܐ ܕܡܛܠ ܡܢ ܓܘ ܟܐ̈ܦܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ

By the abundance of your commerce, your insides were filled with violence, and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane out of God’s mountain. I have destroyed you, covering cherub, from the middle of the stones of fire.

ܥܠ ܕܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܠܒܟ ܒܫܘܦܪܟ ܐܬܚܒܠܬ ܚܟܡܬܟ ܥܡ ܫܘܦܪܟ ܘܒܐܪܥܐ ܫܕܝ̇ܬܟ ܩܕܡ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܘܝܗܒ̇ܬܟ ܠܗܘܢ ܠܚܙܘܐ
lkhzw' lhwn wyhbthk mlk' qdm shdythk wb're' shwprk em khkmthk 'thkhblth bshwprk lbk d'ththrym el
Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may see you.

ܒܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥܬܟ ܘܒܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܕܬܐܓܘܪܬܟ ܛܢܦܬ ܡܩܕܫܟ ܐ̇ܦܩ ܢܘܪܐ ܡܢ ܓܘܟ ܘܗܝ ܬܐܟܠܟ ܘܐܥܒܕܟ ܩܛܡܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܠܥܝܢ ܟܠ ܕܚܙ̇ܝܢ ܠܟ
lk dkhzyn kl leyn b're' qTm' w'ebdk th'klk why gwk mn nwr' 'pq mqdshk Tnpth dth'gwrthk wbewl' dethk bswg''
By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your commerce, you have profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought out a fire from the middle of you. It has devoured you. I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who see you.

ܘܟܠ ܕܝܕܥ̇ܝܢ ܠܟ ܒܝܬ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܢܬܡܗܘܢ ܥܠܝܟ ܕܗ̇ܘܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܐܒܕܢܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܐܢܬ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm 'nth wlyth l'bdn' 'nth dhw' elyk nthmhwn emm' byth lk dydeyn wkl
All those who know you among the peoples will be astonished at you. You have become a terror, and you will exist no more.”’”

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܣܝܡ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܠܨܝܕܢ ܘܐܬܢܒܐ ܥܠܝܗ̇
elyh w'thnb' ltsydn 'pyk sym brnsh'
“Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,

ܘܐܡܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܨܝܕܢ ܘܐܫܬܒܚ ܒܟܝ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܒܗ̇ ܕܝܢ̈ܝ ܘܐܬܩܕܫ̇ܬ ܒܗ̇
bh w'thqdshth dyny bh debdth m' mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn bky w'shthbkh tsydn elyky 'n' h' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' w'mr
and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Sidon. I will be glorified among you. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have executed judgments in her, and am sanctified in her.

ܘܫ̇ܕܪܬ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܡܘܬܢܐ ܘܕܡܐ ܒܫ̈ܘܩܝܗ̇ ܘܢܦܠܘܢ ܚܪ̈ܝܒܝܗ̇ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܕܬܚܕܪܝܗ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ
mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn dthkhdryh bkhrb' bgwh khrybyh wnplwn bshwqyh wdm' mwthn' elyh wshdrth
For I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets. The wounded will fall within her, with the sword on her on every side. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.

ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܓ̈ܕܕܐ ܡܪ̈ܝܪܬܐ ܘܟܐܒܐ ܕܡܢܘܠ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܚܕܝܪ̈ܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܡܨܥܪܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'n' d'n' wndewn lhwn wmtseryn lhwn dkhdyryn klhwn mn dmnwl wk'b' mryrth' gdd' 'ysryl ldbyth nhw' l' wthwb
“‘“There will no longer be a pricking brier to the house of Israel, nor a hurting thorn of any that are around them that scorned them. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܐ ܕܟܢܫ̇ܬ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܐܬܒܕܪܘ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܩܕܫ̇ܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܠܥܝܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗ̇ܒܬ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܝ ܝܥܩܘܒ

“‘The Lord Yahweh says: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am shown as holy among them in the sight of the nations, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to my servant Jacob.

ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܒܫܠܝܐ ܘܢܒܢܘܢ ܒ̈ܬܐ ܘܢܨܒܘܢ ܟܪ̈ܡܐ ܘܢܬܒܘܢ ܒܣܒܪܐ ܡܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܕܝ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܚܕܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܕܡܗܪ̈ܝܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ
'lhhwn mry' 'n' d'n' wndewn lhwn dmhryn dkhdryhwn emm' klhwn mn dyn' debdth m' bsbr' wnthbwn krm' wntsbwn bth' wnbnwn bshly' bh wnthbwn
They will dwell in it securely. Yes, they will build houses, plant vineyards, and will dwell securely when I have executed judgments on all those around them who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am Yahweh their God.”’”
