והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי בשתא תשיעיתא בירחא עשיראה בעסרא לירחא למימר:
lmymr lyrkha besra eshyrah byrkha thshyeytha bshtha emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם כתב לך ית שום יומא ית כרן יומא הדין סמך מלכא דבבל על ירושלם בכרן יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma bkrn yrwshlm el dbbl mlka smk hdyn ywma krn yth ywma shwm yth lk kthb adm br
“Son of man, write the name of the day, this same day. The king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.

ואתנבי לעמא סרבנא נבואה ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי אלהים אתנבי דיסקון משרין על קרתא הדא ואף יתיהיב לה ארכא לקבלא מצירא:
mtsyra lqbla arka lh ythyhyb wap hda qrtha el mshryn dysqwn athnby alhym yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr nbwah srbna lema wathnby
Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says, “Put the cauldron on the fire. Put it on, and also pour water into it.

כנוש רברבהא לגוה כל גבר עביד קרב משרית עממין מלי יתה:
ythh mly emmyn mshryth qrb ebyd gbr kl lgwh rbrbha knwsh
Gather its pieces into it, even every good piece: the thigh and the shoulder. Fill it with the choice bones.

מלכי עממין קריב ואף טקיס סומכותהא עמהון אבע זמנה אף יתרמון קטילהא בגוה:
bgwh qTylha ythrmwn ap zmnh abe emhwn swmkwthha Tqys wap qryb emmyn mlky
Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the cauldron. Make it boil well. Yes, let its bones be boiled within it.”

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים וי על קרתא דאשדי דם זכאי בגוה דהיא כדודא דזיהומתיה ביה וזיהומתיה לא נפקת מניה גלו על גלו אתפק עמא מדלא יתעביר בה תיובא:
thywba bh ythebyr mdla ema athpq glw el glw mnyh npqth la wzyhwmthyh byh dzyhwmthyh kdwda dhya bgwh zkay dm dashdy qrtha el wy alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
“‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece without casting lots for it.

ארי דם זכאי דאתאשד בגוה בזידו ובדרע מרומם שפכתיה לא שפכתיה בשלו למעבד עלוהי תיובא:
thywba elwhy lmebd bshlw shpkthyh la shpkthyh mrwmm wbdre bzydw bgwh dathashd zkay dm ary
“‘“For the blood she shed is in the middle of her. She set it on the bare rock. She didn’t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

למעבד פורענות לאתפרעא בתקוף גליתי חוביהון על דאשידו דם זכאי בגלי בדיל דלא לאישתבקא:
layshthbqa dla bdyl bgly zkay dm dashydw el khwbyhwn glythy bthqwp lathprea pwrenwth lmebd
That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.”

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים וי על קרתא דאשדי דם זכאי בגוה אף אנא אסגי תבירה:
thbyrh asgy ana ap bgwh zkay dm dashdy qrtha el wy alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
“‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

אסגי מלכיא כניש משריתא טקיס סומכותא וזמין עלה עבדי קרבא וגברהא ישתבשון:
yshthbshwn wgbrha qrba ebdy elh wzmyn swmkwtha Tqys mshrytha knysh mlkya asgy
Heap on the wood. Make the fire hot. Boil the meat well. Make the broth thick, and let the bones be burned.

ואשאר ארעא צדיא בדיל דיצדון ויסופון תרעי קרוהא ויתמסון בגוה עבדי סאובתה ויסופון חובהא:
khwbha wyswpwn sawbthh ebdy bgwh wythmswn qrwha threy wyswpwn dytsdwn bdyl tsdya area washar
Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its bronze may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.

תסקופין איתמליאת ולא יפקון מנה עבדי בישתא בנורא תתוקד מסגיות חובהא:
khwbha msgywth ththwqd bnwra byshtha ebdy mnh ypqwn wla aythmlyath thsqwpyn
She is weary with toil; yet her great rust, rust by fire, doesn’t leave her.

בדאסתאבת בעצת חטאין חלף דדכיתיך ולא דכית מסואבתיך לא תדכין עוד עד דאניח חמתי ביך:
byk khmthy danykh ed ewd thdkyn la mswabthyk dkyth wla ddkythyk khlp khTayn betsth bdasthabth
“‘“In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you won’t be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

אנא יי גזרית במימרי אתיא ותתקים לא אמנע ולא אחוס ולא ארחם כאורחתיך בישתא וכעובדיך מקלקליא אתפרע מניך אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr mnyk athpre mqlqlya wkewbdyk byshtha kawrkhthyk arkhm wla akhws wla amne la wththqym athya bmymry gzryth yy ana
“‘“I, Yahweh, have spoken it. It will happen, and I will do it. I won’t go back. I won’t spare. I won’t repent. According to your ways and according to your doings, they will judge you,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Also Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
16
בר אדם הא אנא נסיב מנך ית רגגא דעינך במותא ולא תספד ולא תבכי ולא תשגר דמעין:
dmeyn thshgr wla thbky wla thspd wla bmwtha deynk rgga yth mnk nsyb ana ha adm br
“Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

אידנק שתוק על מיתך אבלא לא תעביד טוטפתך יהוין עלך ומסנך תשוי ברגלך ולא תתעטיף על שפם ולחים אבלין לא תיכול:
thykwl la ablyn wlkhym shpm el ththeTyp wla brglk thshwy wmsnk elk yhwyn TwTpthk thebyd la abla mythk el shthwq aydnq
Sigh, but not aloud. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind your headdress on you, and put your sandals on your feet. Don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat mourner’s bread.”

ואתנביתי לעמא בצפרא ומיתת אתתי ברמשא ועבדית בצפרא כמא דאתפקדית:
dathpqdyth kma btspra webdyth brmsha aththy wmythth btspra lema wathnbythy
So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. So I did in the morning as I was commanded.

ואמרו לי עמא הלא תחוי לנא מא אילן לנא ארי את עביד:
ebyd ath ary lna ayln ma lna thkhwy hla ema ly wamrw
The people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things mean to us, that you act like this?”
20
ואמרית להון פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי הוה עמי למימר:
lmymr emy hwh yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm lhwn wamryth
Then I said to them, “Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

אמר לבית ישראל כדנן אמר יי אלהים הא אנא מפיס ית בית מקדשי יקר תוקפכון רגנא דעיניכון וחבוב נפשכון ובניכון ובנתיכון דשבקתון בחרבא יתקטלון:
ythqTlwn bkhrba dshbqthwn wbnthykwn wbnykwn npshkwn wkhbwb deynykwn rgna thwqpkwn yqr mqdshy byth yth mpys ana ha alhym yy amr kdnn yshral lbyth amr
‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

ותעבדון כמא דעבדית על שפם לא תתעטפון ולחים אבלין לא תיכלון:
thyklwn la ablyn wlkhym ththeTpwn la shpm el debdyth kma wthebdwn
You will do as I have done. You won’t cover your lips or eat mourner’s bread.
23
וטוטפתכון ברישיכון ומסגיכון ברגליכון לא תספדון ולא תבכון ותתמסון בחוביכון ותתנהמון גבר לאחוהי:
lakhwhy gbr wththnhmwn bkhwbykwn wththmswn thbkwn wla thspdwn la brglykwn wmsgykwn bryshykwn wTwTpthkwn
Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You won’t mourn or weep; but you will pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

ויהי יחזקאל לכון לאת ככל די עבד תעבדון במיתה ותידעון ארי אנא יי אלהים:
alhym yy ana ary wthydewn bmythh thebdwn ebd dy kkl lath lkwn ykhzqal wyhy
Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.’”’”
25
ואת בר אדם הלא ביומא דאעדי מנהון ית בית מקדשיהון יקר תוקפהון חדות תושבחתהון יתנסיב מנהון רגגא דעיניהון וחבוב נפשהון דטב להון מבניהון ומבנתיהון:
wmbnthyhwn mbnyhwn lhwn dTb npshhwn wkhbwb deynyhwn rgga mnhwn ythnsyb thwshbkhthhwn khdwth thwqphwn yqr mqdshyhwn byth yth mnhwn daedy bywma hla adm br wath
“You, son of man, shouldn’t it be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart—their sons and their daughters—

ביומא ההוא ייתי משיזבא לותך לאשמעותך בסורא:
bswra lashmewthk lwthk mshyzba yythy hhwa bywma
that in that day he who escapes will come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?
27
ביומא ההוא יתפתח פומך במיתי משיזבא ותתנבי ולא תשתוק עוד ותהי להון לאת ותידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wthydewn lath lhwn wthhy ewd thshthwq wla wththnby mshyzba bmythy pwmk ythpthkh hhwa bywma
In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you will speak and be no more mute. So you will be a sign to them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
