ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܬܫܝܥܝܬܐ ܒܥܣܪܬܐ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܥܣܪܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܟܬܘܒ ܠܟ ܫܡܗ ܕܝܘܡܐ ܗܢܐ ܕܣ̇ܡܟ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗܢܐ
br 'nsh' kthwb lk shmh dywm' hn' dsmk mlk' dbbl l'wrshlm bh bywm' hn'
“Son of man, write the name of the day, this same day. The king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.

ܘܐܡܬܠ ܡܬܠܐ ܥܠ ܒܝܬܐ ܡܡܪܡܪܢܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܬܦܝ ܩܕܣܐ ܘܣܘܟ ܒܗ ܡ̈ܝܐ

Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says, “Put the cauldron on the fire. Put it on, and also pour water into it.

ܘܐܪܡܐ ܒܗ ܢܩܣ̈ܐ ܕܛܒܝ̈ܢ ܘܫܡܝܢ̈ܝܢ ܟܬܦܐ ܕܫܡܝܛ ܓܪܡܗ̇

Gather its pieces into it, even every good piece: the thigh and the shoulder. Fill it with the choice bones.

ܡܢ ܓܒ̈ܝܐ ܕܥܢܐ ܘܓܪ̈ܡܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܩܕܣܐ ܫܓܘܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܐܘܩܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܬܚܘܬܘܗܝ
mn gby' den' wgrm' thkhyth qds' shgwr 'nwn w'wqd 'nwn thkhwthwhy
Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the cauldron. Make it boil well. Yes, let its bones be boiled within it.”

ܡܛܠ ܕܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܘ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܕܩܕܣܐ ܬܦܐ ܒܗ̇ ܘܥܘ̣ܠܗ̇ ܠܐ ܢܦܩ ܡܢܗ̇ ܗܕܡ ܗܕܡ ܦܘܣܩܘܗ̇ ܘܦܣܐ ܠܐ ܢܦܠ ܥܠܝܗ̇

“‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece without casting lots for it.

ܡܛܠ ܕܕܡܗ̇ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܗܘܐ ܘܥܠ ܟܐܦܐ ܣܡ̇ܬܗ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܕܬܗ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܟܣܐ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܥܦܪܐ

“‘“For the blood she shed is in the middle of her. She set it on the bare rock. She didn’t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

ܕܬܣܩ ܚܡܬܐ ܠܦܘܪܥܢܘܬܐ ܝܗ̇ܒܬ ܕܡܗ̇ ܥܠ ܟܐܦܐ ܫܥܝܥܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܬܟܣܐ
dthsq khmth' lpwrenwth' yhbth dmh el k'p' sheyeth' dl' nthks'
That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܘ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܐܢܐ ܐܘܪܒ ܡܥܡܪܐ
mTl hn' hkn' 'mr mr' mrwth' 'w mdynth' ddm' 'n' 'wrb memr'
“‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

ܘܐܣܓܐ ܩܝܣ̈ܐ ܘܐܫܒܘܩ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܢܒܫܠ ܒܣܪܐ ܘܐܪܬܚ ܪܬܚܐ ܘܓܪ̈ܡܐ ܢܐܩܕܘܢ
w'sg' qys' w'shbwq nwr' wnbshl bsr' w'rthkh rthkh' wgrm' n'qdwn
Heap on the wood. Make the fire hot. Boil the meat well. Make the broth thick, and let the bones be burned.

ܘܐܩܝܡܝܘܗܝ ܪܬܚܐ ܥܠ ܓܘܡܪ̈ܐ ܕܢܚܡ ܘܢܬܦܫܪ ܢܚܫܗ̇ ܘܬܬܡܣܐ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܛܢܦܘܬܗ̇ ܘܢܫܠܡ ܦܘܪܥܢܗ̇
w'qymywhy rthkh' el gwmr' dnkhm wnthpshr nkhshh wththms' bgwh Tnpwthh wnshlm pwrenh
Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its bronze may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.

ܐܝܟ ܬܐ̈ܢܐ ܟܪ̈ܝܗܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܦܘܩ ܡܢܗ̇ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܥܘ̣ܠܗ̇ ܐܠܐ ܒܢܘܪܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܦܘܪܥܢܗ̇
'yk th'n' kryhth' wl' npwq mnh swg'' dewlh 'l' bnwr' nhw' pwrenh
She is weary with toil; yet her great rust, rust by fire, doesn’t leave her.

ܥܠ ܕܐܬܛܢܦܬܝ ܒܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܕܕܟܝ̇ܬܝ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܕܟܝܬܝ ܡܢ ܛܢܦܘܬܟܝ ܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܬܬܕܟܝܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܢܝܚ ܒܟܝ ܚܡܬܝ
el d'thTnpthy bznywth' wel ddkythy wl' 'thdkythy mn Tnpwthky thwb l' ththdkyn edm' d'nykh bky khmthy
“‘“In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you won’t be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܘܡܝܬܐ ܐܢܐ ܘܥܒ̇ܕ ܐܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܚܦ ܘܠܐ ܐܚܘܣ ܘܠܐ ܐܪܚܡ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܟܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܨܢ̈ܥܬܟܝ ܐܕܘܢܟܝ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
'n' mry' 'mrth wmyth' 'n' webd 'n' wl' 'rkhp wl' 'khws wl' 'rkhm w'yk 'wrkhthky w'yk tsnethky 'dwnky 'mr mr' mrwth'
“‘“I, Yahweh, have spoken it. It will happen, and I will do it. I won’t go back. I won’t spare. I won’t repent. According to your ways and according to your doings, they will judge you,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Also Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܗܐ ܢܣ̇ܒ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܟ ܪܓܬܐ ܕܥܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܒܡܚܘܬܐ ܕܡܢ ܫܠܝ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܩܕ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܟܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܫܠܚ ܕܡܥܬܟ
brnsh' h' nsb 'n' mnk rgth' deynyk bmkhwth' dmn shly wl' thrqd wl' thbk' wl' thshlkh dmethk
“Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

ܐܠܐ ܐܫܬܢܩ ܒܕܡܐ ܕܡܝ̈ܬܐ ܘܒܝܬ ܒܟ̈ܐ ܠܐ ܬܥܒܕ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝܟ ܚܙܘܩ ܥܠܝܟ ܘܡܣ̈ܢܝܟ ܣܝܡ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܟ ܘܠܐ ܬܬܥܛܦ ܥܠ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܟ ܘܠܚܡܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܟܘܠ
'l' 'shthnq bdm' dmyth' wbyth bk' l' thebd wm'nyk khzwq elyk wmsnyk sym brglyk wl' ththeTp el spwthk wlkhm' dbnynsh' l' th'kwl
Sigh, but not aloud. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind your headdress on you, and put your sandals on your feet. Don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat mourner’s bread.”

ܘܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܒܨܦܪܐ ܠܥܡܐ ܘܡܝܬܬ ܐܢܬܬܝ ܒܪܡܫܐ ܘܠܨܦܪܗ ܕܝܘܡܐ ܐܚܪܢܐ ܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܬܦܩ̇ܕܬ

So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. So I did in the morning as I was commanded.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܥܡܐ ܠܐ ܡܚܘܐ ܐܢܬ ܠܢ ܡ̇ܢܘ ܗܢܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕ ܐܢܬ

The people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things mean to us, that you act like this?”

ܘܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܗܘ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Then I said to them, “Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܐܡܪ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܡܛܘܫ ܐܢܐ ܡܩܕܫܝ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܥܘܫܢܟܘܢ ܘܪܓܬܐ ܕܥܝܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܚܘܣܝܐ ܕܢܦܫ̈ܬܟܘܢ ܘܒ̈ܢܝܟܘܢ ܘܒܢ̈ܬܟܘܢ ܕܫܒ̇ܩܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܚܪܒܐ ܢܦܠܘܢ
'mr ldbyth 'ysryl hkn' 'mr mr' mrwth' h' mTwsh 'n' mqdshy shwbkh' dewshnkwn wrgth' deynyhwn wkhwsy' dnpshthkwn wbnykwn wbnthkwn dshbqyn 'nthwn bkhrb' nplwn
‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.

ܘܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܘܥܠ ܣ̈ܦܘܬܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܬܬܥܛܦܘܢ ܘܠܚܡܐ ܕܒܢܝܢܫ̈ܐ ܠܐ ܬܐܟܠܘܢ
wthebdwn 'yk debdth wel spwthkwn l' ththeTpwn wlkhm' dbnynsh' l' th'klwn
You will do as I have done. You won’t cover your lips or eat mourner’s bread.

ܘܣܥܪܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܢܣܬܦܪ ܘܡܣ̈ܢܝܟܘܢ ܢܗܘܘܢ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܒܟܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܬܪܩܕܘܢ ܘܬܬܡܣܘܢ ܒܥܘ̣ܠܟܘܢ ܘܬܬܒܝܐܘܢ ܐܢܫ ܥܠ ܐܚܘܗܝ
wserkwn l' nsthpr wmsnykwn nhwwn brglykwn wl' thbkwn wl' thrqdwn wththmswn bewlkwn wththby'wn 'nsh el 'khwhy
Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You won’t mourn or weep; but you will pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

ܘܢܗܘܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܚܙܩܝܐܝܠ ܐܬܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܥܒܕ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
wnhw' lkwn khzqy'yl 'th' w'yk debd hkn' thebdwn wthdewn d'n' 'n' mr' mrwth'
Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.’”’”

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܢܣ̇ܒ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܥܘܫܢܐ ܕܚܕܘܬܐ ܕܫܘܒܚܗܘܢ ܘܪܓܬܐ ܕܥܝܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܚܘܣܝܐ ܕܢܦܫܬ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܒܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ ܘܒܢ̈ܬܗܘܢ
'nth dyn brnsh' bywm' dnsb 'n' mnhwn ewshn' dkhdwth' dshwbkhhwn wrgth' deynyhwn wkhwsy' dnpshthhwn wbnyhwn wbnthhwn
“You, son of man, shouldn’t it be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart—their sons and their daughters—

ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܢܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟ ܡܬܦܨܝܢܐ ܘܢܫܡܥܟ ܒܐ̈ܕܢܝܟ

that in that day he who escapes will come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?

ܘܢܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܟ ܡܬܦܨܝܢܐ ܒܗ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܗ̇ܘ ܘܬܡܠܠ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܬܚܪܫ ܘܬܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܐܬܐ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ

In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you will speak and be no more mute. So you will be a sign to them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
