והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
2
ואת בר אדם התוכח התוכח ית קרתא דאשדי דם זכאי בגוה וחוי לה ית כל תועבתהא:
thwebthha kl yth lh wkhwy bgwh zkay dm dashdy qrtha yth hthwkkh hthwkkh adm br wath
“You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.

ותימר כדנן אמר יי אלהים קרתא דאשדי דם זכאי בגוה מטא עדן תברה ודפלחין לטעותא בגוה בדיל לסאבותא:
lsabwtha bdyl bgwh lTewtha wdplkhyn thbrh edn mTa bgwh zkay dm dashdy qrtha alhym yy amr kdnn wthymr
You shall say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!

בחובת דם זכאי דאשדת חבת ובפולחן טעותך דפלחת אסתאבת וקריב יום תבריך ומטא עדן בישתיך על כן יהבתיך חסודין לעממיא ולעיב לכל מדינתא:
mdyntha lkl wleyb lemmya khswdyn yhbthyk kn el byshthyk edn wmTa thbryk ywm wqryb asthabth dplkhth Tewthk wbpwlkhn khbth dashdth zkay dm bkhwbth
You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

דקריבין ודרחיקין מניך יתלעבון ביך סואבת שמא דסגיאין אתרגושתהא:
athrgwshthha dsgyayn shma swabth byk ythlebwn mnyk wdrkhyqyn dqrybyn
Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.

הא רברבי ישראל גבר לתוקפיה הוו ביך בדיל למשפך דם זכאי:
zkay dm lmshpk bdyl byk hww lthwqpyh gbr yshral rbrby ha
“‘“Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

אבא ואמא אקילו בך לגיורא אניסו אונסא בגויך יתמין וארמלן אוניאו ביך:
byk awnyaw warmln ythmyn bgwyk awnsa anysw lgywra bk aqylw wama aba
In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

על קודשי בסרת וית יומי שביא דילי אחילת:
akhylth dyly shbya ywmy wyth bsrth qwdshy el
You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

גברי אכלי קורצא היו ביך בדיל למשפך דם זכאי ובטוריא פלחו ביך לטעותא ארי עיצת חטאין עבדו בגויך:
bgwyk ebdw khTayn eytsth ary lTewtha byk plkhw wbTwrya zkay dm lmshpk bdyl byk hyw qwrtsa akly gbry
Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you.

ערית אבא גליאו ביך אתא טומאה עניאו ביך:
byk enyaw Twmah atha byk glyaw aba eryth
In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness. In you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.

וגבר ית אתת חבריה עבד תועיבא וגבר ית כלתיה סאיב בעיצת חטאין וגבר ית אחתיה בת אבוהי עני ביך:
byk eny abwhy bth akhthyh yth wgbr khTayn beytsth sayb klthyh yth wgbr thweyba ebd khbryh athth yth wgbr
One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.

שוחדא קבילו ביך בדיל למשפך דם זכאי חבוליא ורביתא נסיבת ואהנית רחימך באונסא ופולחני שבקת אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr shbqth wpwlkhny bawnsa rkhymk wahnyth nsybth wrbytha khbwlya zkay dm lmshpk bdyl byk qbylw shwkhda
In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,” says the Lord Yahweh.

והא איתיתי פורענותי עלך בחובי ממון אונסיך דאנסת ועל דם זכאי דאשתפיך בגויך:
bgwyk dashthpyk zkay dm wel dansth awnsyk mmwn bkhwby elk pwrenwthy aythythy wha
“‘“Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.

היתקף לביך אם יתחסנן ידיך ליומיא דאנא עתיד למעבד עמך אנא יי גזרית במימרי ואקים:
waqym bmymry gzryth yy ana emk lmebd ethyd dana lywmya ydyk ythkhsnn am lbyk hythqp
Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

ואגלי יתיך לביני עממיא ואבדרינך במדינתא ואסיף סאובתיך מניך:
mnyk sawbthyk wasyp bmdyntha wabdrynk emmya lbyny ythyk wagly
I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries. I will purge your filthiness out of you.

ואתקדש ביך לעיני עממיא ותידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wthydewn emmya leyny byk wathqdsh
You will be profaned in yourself in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”
17
והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
18
בר אדם הוו קדמי בית ישראל לפסולא כולהון כמא דמערב נחש ובעיץ וברזל ואבר בגו כורא לפסולת כספא הוו:
hww kspa lpswlth kwra bgw wabr wbrzl wbeyts nkhsh dmerb kma kwlhwn lpswla yshral byth qdmy hww adm br
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.

בכן כדנן אמר יי אלהים חלף דהויתון כולכון לפסולא בכן הא אנא כניש יתכון לגו ירושלם:
yrwshlm lgw ythkwn knysh ana ha bkn lpswla kwlkwn dhwythwn khlp alhym yy amr kdnn bkn
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.

כמכנש כסף ונחש וברזלא ואבר ובעיץ לגו כורא לאתקפא עלוהי נורא לאמסיותיה כן אכנש ברוגזי ובחימתי ואסיף ואשיצי יתכון:
ythkwn washytsy wasyp wbkhymthy brwgzy aknsh kn lamsywthyh nwra elwhy lathqpa kwra lgw wbeyts wabr wbrzla wnkhsh ksp kmknsh
As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there and melt you.
21
ואכניש יתכון ואתקיף עליכון באשתא פורענותי ותתמסון בגוה:
bgwh wththmswn pwrenwthy bashtha elykwn wathqyp ythkwn waknysh
Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it.

כאתמסאה כסף בגו כורא כן תתמסון בגוה ותידעון ארי אנא יי שפיכית חימתי עליכון:
elykwn khymthy shpykyth yy ana ary wthydewn bgwh ththmswn kn kwra bgw ksp kathmsah
As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.’”

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
24
בר אדם אמר לה את ארעא דישראל ארעא לא מדכיא היא ולא אתעבידו בה עובדין טבין דיגנון עלה ביום לוט:
lwT bywm elh dygnwn Tbyn ewbdyn bh athebydw wla hya mdkya la area dyshral area ath lh amr adm br
“Son of man, tell her, ‘You are a land that is not cleansed nor rained on in the day of indignation.’

סיעת ספרהא בגוה כאריון נהמין למקטל קטול אנשא קטלו עותר ויקר נסיבו ארמלתהא אסגיאו בגוה:
bgwh asgyaw armlthha nsybw wyqr ewthr qTlw ansha qTwl lmqTl nhmyn karywn bgwh sprha syeth
There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it.

כהנהא חטפין באוריתי ומפסין קדשי בין קודשא לחולא לא אפרישו ובין מסאבא לדכיא לא הודיעו ומיומי שביא דילי כבשו עיניהון וחלת רעותי ביניהון:
bynyhwn rewthy wkhlth eynyhwn kbshw dyly shbya wmywmy hwdyew la ldkya msaba wbyn apryshw la lkhwla qwdsha byn qdshy wmpsyn bawrythy khTpyn khnha
Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them.
27
רברבהא בגוה כדיבין חטפי חטוף למשפך דם זכאי לאבדא נפשן בדיל לקבלא ממון דשקר:
dshqr mmwn lqbla bdyl npshn labda zkay dm lmshpk khTwp khTpy kdybyn bgwh rbrbha
Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

ונביי שקרא די בגוה דמן לדבני מחיצא ושעיע ליה טין פטיר דלא תבן מתנבן שקר ומלפין להון כדבין אמרין כדנן אמר יי אלהים ומן קדם יי לא אתמלל:
athmll la yy qdm wmn alhym yy amr kdnn amryn kdbyn lhwn wmlpyn shqr mthnbn thbn dla pTyr Tyn lyh wsheye mkhytsa ldbny dmn bgwh dy shqra wnbyy
Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, ‘The Lord Yahweh says,’ when Yahweh has not spoken.

עמא דארעא עשקו עושקא וגזלו גזלה ומסכן וחשיך אוניאו ולגיורא אנסו בלא כדחזי:
kdkhzy bla answ wlgywra awnyaw wkhshyk wmskn gzlh wgzlw ewshqa eshqw darea ema
The people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery. Yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.
30
ואתבע מנהון קדמי גבר דליה עובדין טבין דיקום בתרעתא קדמי ויבעי רחמין על עמא דארעא בדיל דלא לחבלותא ולא אשכחית:
ashkkhyth wla lkhblwtha dla bdyl darea ema el rkhmyn wybey qdmy bthretha dyqwm Tbyn ewbdyn dlyh gbr qdmy mnhwn wathbe
“I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

ושפיכית עליהון חימתי באשת פורענותי שיציתינון פורענות אורחיהון ברישיהון יהבית אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr yhbyth bryshyhwn awrkhyhwn pwrenwth shytsythynwn pwrenwthy bashth khymthy elyhwn wshpykyth
Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have brought their own way on their heads,” says the Lord Yahweh.
