Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܕܘܢ ܠܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܕܡܐ ܘܐܘܕܥܝܗ̇ ܟܠܗ̇ ܛܢܦܘܬܗ̇

“You, son of man, will you judge? Will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations.

ܘܐܡܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܕܐܬܐܫܕ ܕܡܐ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܡܛܝ ܙܒܢܗ̇ ܘܥܒܕܬ ܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܘܐܬܛܢܦܬ

You shall say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!

ܒܕܡܐ ܕܐܫܕܬܝ ܐܬܚܝܒܬܝ ܘܒܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܕܥܒܕܬܝ ܐܬܛܡܐܬܝ ܩܪܒܘ ܝܘܡ̈ܝܟܝ ܘܡܛܝ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܫܢܝܟܝ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܝܗ̇ܒܬܟܝ ܚܣܕܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܡܘܝܩܐ ܠܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ
bdm' d'shdthy 'thkhybthy wbpthkr' debdthy 'thTm'thy qrbw ywmyky wmTy zbn' dshnyky mTl hn' yhbthky khsd' lemm' wmwyq' lklhyn mdynth'
You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made! You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܪ̈ܚܝܩܢ ܡܢܟܝ ܘܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܪ̈ܝܒܢ ܠܟܝ ܢܡ̈ܝܩܢ ܒܟܝ ܘܢܐܡܪ̈ܢ ܛܢܦܬܐ ܕܫ̈ܡܗܬܗ̇ ܘܣܓܝܐܬ ܒܥܘ̈ܠܝܗ̇
'ylyn drkhyqn mnky w'ylyn dqrybn lky nmyqn bky wn'mrn Tnpth' dshmhthh wsgy'th bewlyh
Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.

ܗܐ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܢܫ ܠܫܪܒܬܗ ܗܘܘ ܒܟܝ ܕܢܐܫܕܘܢ ܕܡܐ

“‘“Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

ܠܐܒܐ ܘܠܐܡܐ ܨܚܝܘ ܒܟܝ ܘܠܐܝܢܐ ܕܡܬܦܢܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܛܠܡܘ ܒܓܘܟܝ ܘܠܝܬ̈ܡܐ ܘܠܐܪ̈ܡܠܬܐ ܥܠܒܘ ܒܟܝ

In you have they treated father and mother with contempt. Among you they have oppressed the foreigner. In you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

ܘܩܘ̈ܕܫܝ ܐܣܠܝܬܝ ܘܫ̈ܒܝ ܛܘܫܬܝ

You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܬܓܪ̈ܐ ܗܘܘ ܒܟܝ ܕܢܐܫܕܘܢ ܕܡܐ ܘܥܠ ܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܐܟܠܘ ܒܟܝ ܘܚܛܝܬܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܒܓܘܟܝ

Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood. In you they have eaten on the mountains. They have committed lewdness among you.

ܘܦܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܒܐ ܓܠܘ ܒܟܝ ܘܛܢܦܘܬܐ ܕܟܦܣܢܝܬܐ ܥܒܕܘ ܒܓܘܟܝ

In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness. In you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.

ܘܓܒܪ ܠܐܢܬܬ ܚܒܪܗ ܛܢܦܘ ܘܓܒܪ ܠܟܠܬܗ ܛܢܦܘ ܒܙܢܝܘܬܐ ܘܓܒܪ ܠܚܬܗ ܒܪܬ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܨܥܪܘ ܒܟܝ

One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.

ܘܫܘܚܕܐ ܢܣܒܘ ܒܟܝ ܕܢܐܫܕܘܢ ܕܡܐ ܘܪܒܝܬܐ ܢܣܒܘ ܒܟܝ ܘܝܬܝܪܐ ܫܩܠܘ ܒܟܝ ܘܢܟܠܘ ܠܪ̈ܚܡܝܗܘܢ ܒܛܠܘܡܝܐ ܘܠܝ ܛܥܝܬܝ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,” says the Lord Yahweh.

ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܐܛܪܦ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠ ܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܕܥܒܕܬܝ ܘܥܠ ܕܡܐ ܕܐܬܐܫܕ ܒܓܘܟܝ

“‘“Behold, therefore I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at the blood which has been shed within you.

ܐܢ ܩܐ̇ܡ ܠܒܟܝ ܘܐܢ ܡܚܡ̈ܣܢܢ ܐܝ̈ܕܝܟܝ ܠܝܘ̈ܡܬܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕ ܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܠ̇ܬ ܘܥܒ̇ܕܬ

Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

ܘܐܒܕܪܟܝ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܕܪܝܟܝ ܒܡ̈ܕܝܢܬܐ

I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries. I will purge your filthiness out of you.

ܘܐܪܬܟܝ ܠܥܝܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܬܕܥܝܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ

You will be profaned in yourself in the sight of the nations. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܗܘܘ ܠܝ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܣ̈ܠܝܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܢܚܫܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܢܟܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܦܪܙܠܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܐܒܪܐ ܒܓܘ ܟܘܪܐ ܕܚܠܝܛܝܢ ܒܣܐܡܐ

“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the middle of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܚܠܛܬܘܢ ܟܠܟܘܢ ܗܐ ܡܟܢܫ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܘܢ ܠܓܘ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ
mTl hn' hkn' 'mr mr' mrwth' el d'thkhlTthwn klkwn h' mknsh 'n' lkwn lgw 'wrshlm
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.

ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܟܢܫ ܣܐܡܐ ܘܢܚܫܐ ܘܦܪܙܠܐ ܘܐܢܟܐ ܘܐܒܪܐ ܒܓܘ ܟܘܪܐ ܘܢܦ̇ܚܝܢ ܒܗܘܢ ܢܘܪܐ ܕܢܬܦܫܪܘܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܟܢܫܟܘܢ ܒܪܘܓܙܝ ܘܒܚܡܬܝ ܐܦܫܪܟܘܢ
'yk dmthknsh s'm' wnkhsh' wprzl' w'nk' w'br' bgw kwr' wnpkhyn bhwn nwr' dnthpshrwn hkn' 'knshkwn brwgzy wbkhmthy 'pshrkwn
As they gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it, so I will gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there and melt you.

ܘܐܦܘܚ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܢܘܪܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܝ ܘܐܦܫܪܟܘܢ ܒܓܘܗ̇
w'pwkh elykwn nwr' drwgzy w'pshrkwn bgwh
Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you will be melted in the middle of it.

ܐܝܟ ܕܡܬܦܫܪ ܣܐܡܐ ܒܓܘ ܟܘܪܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܬܬܦܫܪܘܢ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܫ̇ܕܬ ܚܡܬܝ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ
'yk dmthpshr s'm' bgw kwr' hkn' ththpshrwn bgwh wthdewn d'n' 'n' mry' 'shdth khmthy elykwn
As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.’”

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܡܪ ܠܗ̇ ܐܢܬܝ ܐܪܥܐ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬܝ ܕܟܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܨܛܒܥܬܝ ܘܠܐ ܢܚܬ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܡܛܪܐ

“Son of man, tell her, ‘You are a land that is not cleansed nor rained on in the day of indignation.’

ܡܪܕܘ ܢܒܝ̈ܝܗ̇ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܐܝܟ ܐܪܝܐ ܕܢܗ̇ܡ ܘܬ̇ܒܪ ܬܒܪܐ ܐܟܠܘ ܢܦܫ̈ܬܐ ܒܥܫܝܢܘܬܗܘܢ ܘܐܝܩܪܐ ܕܣܚܪ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܢܣܒܘ
mrdw nbyyh bgwh 'yk 'ry' dnhm wthbr thbr' 'klw npshth' beshynwthhwn w'yqr' dskhrthhwn nsbw
There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey. They have devoured souls. They take treasure and precious things. They have made many widows within it.

ܟܗ̈ܢܝܗ̇ ܐܥܠܝܘ ܒܢܡܘܣܝ ܘܛܘܫܘ ܩܘܕܫܝ ܘܒܝܬ ܩܘܕܫܐ ܠܛܡܐܐ ܠܐ ܦܪܫܘ ܘܒܝܬ ܡܣܝܒܐ ܠܕܟܝܐ ܠܐ ܝܕܥܘ ܘܡܢ ܫܒ̈ܝ ܐܡܟܘ ܥܝܢ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܛܘ̇ܫܬ ܒܝܢܬܗܘܢ
khnyh 'elyw bnmwsy wTwshw qwdshy wbyth qwdsh' lTm'' l' prshw wbyth msyb' ldky' l' ydew wmn shby 'mkw eynyhwn w'thTwshth bynthhwn
Her priests have done violence to my law and have profaned my holy things. They have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths. So I am profaned among them.

ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܝܗ̇ ܒܓܘܗ̇ ܐܝܟ ܕܐ̈ܒܐ ܚܛ̇ܦܝܢ ܠܡܐܫܕ ܕܡܐ ܘܠܡܘܒܕܘ ܢܦܫ̈ܬܐ ܕܢܩܢܘܢ ܩܢܝܢܐ

Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

ܘܢܒܝ̈ܝܗ̇ ܛܪܘ ܠܗ̇ ܛܪܝܐ ܕܬܦܠ ܚܙܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܣܪܝܩܘܬܐ ܘܩܨܡܘ ܠܗܘܢ ܕܓܠܘܬܐ ܘܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܪܝܐ ܠܐ ܐܡܪ

Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, ‘The Lord Yahweh says,’ when Yahweh has not spoken.

ܠܥܡܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܛܠܡܘ ܘܬܟܘ ܘܥܠܒܘ ܠܡܣ̈ܟܢܐ ܘܠܒ̇ܝܫ̈ܐ ܘܠܕܡܬܦܢܐ ܠܘܬܝ ܛܠܡܘ ܕܠܐ ܒܕܝܢܐ
lem' d're' Tlmw wthkw welbw lmskn' wlbysh' wldmthpn' lwthy Tlmw dl' bdyn'
The people of the land have used oppression and exercised robbery. Yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

ܘܒܥ̇ܝܬ ܒܗܘܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܕܣܐ̇ܓ ܣܝܓܐ ܘܩܐ̇ܡ ܒܬܘܪܥܬܐ ܩܕܡܝ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝܗ̇ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܠܐ ܐܚܒܠܝܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܐܫܟܚ̇ܬ
wbeyth bhwn gbr' ds'g syg' wq'm bthwreth' qdmy el 'pyh d're' dl' 'khblyh wl' 'shkkhth
“I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.

ܘܐܫ̇ܕܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܘܒܢܘܪܐ ܕܚܡܬܝ ܐܣܝ̇ܦܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗܘܢ ܦܪܥ̇ܬ ܒܪܫܗܘܢ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
w'shdth elyhwn rwgzy wbnwr' dkhmthy 'sypth 'nwn 'wrkhthhwn preth brshhwn 'mr mr' mrwth'
Therefore I have poured out my indignation on them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have brought their own way on their heads,” says the Lord Yahweh.
