Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܣܝܡ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܠܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܚܘܪ ܠܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܐܬܢܒܐ ܥܠ ܥܒܐ ܕܒܬܝܡܢܐ

“Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and preach toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel.

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܥܒܐ ܕܒܬܝܡܢܐ ܫܡܥ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܫܒ̇ܩ ܐܢܐ ܒܟ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܬܐܟܘܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܩܝܣ̈ܝܟ ܪ̈ܓܝܐ ܘܝܒܝܫ̈ܐ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܥܟ ܫܠܗܒܝܬܐ ܕܡܬܓܘܙܠܐ ܘܢܐ̈ܩܕܢ ܒܗ̇ ܟܠ ܐ̈ܦܝܢ ܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܪܒܝܐ

Tell the land of Israel, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, and will draw my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked.

ܘܢܚܙܘܢܗ̇ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܘܚ̇ܕܬܗ̇ ܘܠܐ ܬܕܥܟ

Seeing then that I will cut off from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore my sword will go out of its sheath against all flesh from the south to the north.

ܘܐܡ̇ܪܬ ܐܘ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ ܠܝ ܡܡܬܠ ܡ̈ܬܠܐ ܐܢܬ
'nth mthl' mmthl ly 'mryn hnwn h' mrwth' mr' 'w w'mrth
All flesh will know that I, Yahweh, have drawn my sword out of its sheath. It will not return any more.”’

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

“Therefore sigh, you son of man. You shall sigh before their eyes with a broken heart and with bitterness.

ܒܪܢܫܐ ܣܝܡ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܠܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܚܘܪ ܒܡܩܕܫܗܘܢ ܘܐܬܢܒܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ

It shall be, when they ask you, ‘Why do you sigh?’ that you shall say, ‘Because of the news, for it comes! Every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint, and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes, and it shall be done, says the Lord Yahweh.’”

ܘܐܡܪ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܘܐܦܩ ܣܦܣܪܝ ܡܢ ܚܠܬܗ̇ ܘܐܘܒܕ ܡܢܟܝ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܚܛܝܐ

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

ܘܥܠ ܕܐܘܒ̇ܕܬ ܡܢܟܝ ܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܚܛܝܐ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܬܦܘܩ ܣܦܣܪܝ ܡܢ ܚܠܬܗ̇ ܥܠ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܡܢ ܬܝܡܢܐ ܘܥܕܡܐ ܠܓܪܒܝܐ

“Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘Yahweh says: “A sword! A sword! It is sharpened, and also polished.

ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܟܠ ܒܣܪ ܕܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܦܩ̇ܬ ܣܦܣܪܝ ܡܢ ܚܠܬܗ̇ ܘܬܘܒ ܠܐ ܬܗܦܘܟ
thhpwk l' wthwb khlthh mn spsry 'pqth mry' d'n' bsr kl wndewn
It is sharpened that it may make a slaughter. It is polished that it may be as lightning. Should we then make mirth? The rod of my son condemns every tree.

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܬܬܢܚ ܒܬܒܪ̈ܐ ܕܚܨܐ ܘܒܡܪܝܪܘܬܐ ܐܬܬܢܚ ܠܥܢܝ̈ܗܘܢ
lenyhwn 'ththnkh wbmryrwth' dkhts' bthbr' 'ththnkh brnsh' dyn 'nth
It is given to be polished, that it may be handled. The sword is sharpened. Yes, it is polished to give it into the hand of the killer.”’

ܘܐܢ ܐܡ̇ܪܝܢ ܠܟ ܠܡܢܐ ܡܬܬܢܚ ܐܢܬ ܐܡܪ ܠܗܘܢ ܥܠ ܛܒܐ ܕܐܬ̇ܐ ܘܡܬܡܣܝܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܠܒ̈ܘܬܐ ܘܡܬܪ̈ܫܠܢ ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܐ̈ܝܕܝܐ ܘܟܝ̈ܒܢ ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܪ̈ܘܚܬܐ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܐ ܡܪ̈ܕܝܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܗܐ ܐܬܬ ܘܗ̇ܘܝܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
mrwth' mr' 'mr whwy' 'thth h' my' mrdyn bwrk' wklhyn rwkhth' kwlhyn wkybn 'ydy' kwlhyn wmthrshln lbwth' klhwn wmthmsyn d'th' Tb' el lhwn 'mr 'nth mththnkh lmn' lk 'mryn w'n
Cry and wail, son of man; for it is on my people. It is on all the princes of Israel. They are delivered over to the sword with my people. Therefore beat your thigh.

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

“For there is a trial. What if even the rod that condemns will be no more?” says the Lord Yahweh.

ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܘܐܡܪ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܣܝܦܐ ܣܝܦܐ ܐܬܠܛܫ
'thlTsh syp' syp' mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' w'mr 'thnb' 'nsh' br
“You therefore, son of man, prophesy, and strike your hands together. Let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the fatally wounded. It is the sword of the great one who is fatally wounded, which enters into their rooms.

ܘܐܬܛܝܒ ܕܬܩܛܘܠ ܩܛܠܐ ܐܬܠܛܫ ܕܬܒܪܩ ܘܐܬܛܝܒ ܠܡܪܬܥܘ ܠܫܪܒܬܗ ܕܒܪܝ ܘܐܣܠܐ ܟܠ ܩܝܣ

I have set the threatening sword against all their gates, that their heart may melt, and their stumblings be multiplied. Ah! It is made as lightning. It is pointed for slaughter.

ܘܝܗܒܗ̣ ܠܛܘܝܒܐ ܘܠܡܐܚܕ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܣܝܦܐ ܠܛܝܫܐ ܘܡܛܝܒܐ ܕܢܫܠܡܝܘܗܝ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܘܠܐ
dqTwl' b'yd' dnshlmywhy wmTyb' lTysh' dsyp' 'yd' wlm'khd lTwyb' wyhbh
Gather yourselves together. Go to the right. Set yourselves in array. Go to the left, wherever your face is set.

ܓܥܝ ܘܐܝܠܠ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܘ ܗܘܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܝ ܘܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl rwrbn' klhwn wel emy el hw' dhw mTl brnsh' w'yll gey
I will also strike my hands together, and I will cause my wrath to rest. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”

ܩܘܫ ܟܦܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܙܕܕܩܬ ܗܕܐ ܘܐܢ ܫܪܒܬܐ ܐܣܬܠܝܬ ܠܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ

Yahweh’s word came to me again, saying,

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܐܬܢܒܐ ܘܩܘܫ ܟܦܐ ܐܝܕܐ ܥܠ ܐܝܕܐ ܘܢܬܐܥܦ ܣܝܦܐ ܘܣܝܦܐ ܕܬܠܬܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܗܘ ܘܣܝܦܐ ܕܩ̈ܛܝܠܐ ܕܪܒܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܙܝܥ ܠܗܘܢ
lhwn dmzye hw drb' dqTyl' wsyp' hw dqTyl' dthlth' wsyp' syp' wnth'ep 'yd' el 'yd' kp' wqwsh 'thnb' brnsh' dyn 'nth
“Also, you son of man, appoint two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come. They both will come out of one land, and mark out a place. Mark it out at the head of the way to the city.

ܕܢܬܬܒܪ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܘܢܣܓܘܢ ܟܪ̈ܝܗܐ ܒܟܠ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܗܘܢ ܐܫܠܡ̇ܬ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܣܝܦܐ ܕܠܛܝܫ ܘܡܒܪܩ ܘܡܛܝܒ ܠܩܛܠܐ
lqTl' wmTyb wmbrq dlTysh lsyp' 'nwn 'shlmth threyhwn bkl kryh' wnsgwn lbhwn dnththbr
You shall appoint a way for the sword to come to Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and to Judah in Jerusalem the fortified.

ܚܡܣܢܝ ܝܡܝܢܝ ܘܚܡܣܢܝ ܣܡܠܝ ܠܐܬܪ ܕܡܛܝ̈ܒܢ ܐ̈ܦܝ
'py dmTybn l'thr smly wkhmsny ymyny khmsny
For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination. He shook the arrows back and forth. He consulted the teraphim. He looked in the liver.

ܐܦ ܐܢܐ ܐܩܘܫ ܟܦܐ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠ ܐܝܕܝ ܘܐܢܝܚ ܚܡܬܝ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܡ̇ܪܬ
'mrth mry' 'n' khmthy w'nykh 'ydy el 'ydy kp' 'qwsh 'n' 'p
In his right hand was the lot for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, and to build forts.

ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ

It will be to them as a false divination in their sight, who have sworn oaths to them; but he brings iniquity to memory, that they may be taken.

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܥܒܕ ܠܟ ܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܢ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܣܝܦܗ ܕܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܘܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܚܕܐ ܢܦܩܘܢ ܬܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܐܝܕܐ ܓܒܝܬܐ ܥܠ ܪܝܫ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܡܕܝܢܬܐ ܓܒܝܬܐ

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Because you have caused your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are uncovered, so that in all your doings your sins appear; because you have come to memory, you will be taken with the hand.

ܘܥܒܕ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܣܝܦܐ ܥܠ ܪܒܬ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܥܠ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܥܫܝܢܬܐ

“‘You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

ܡܛܠ ܕܩܡ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܒܒܠ ܥܠ ܪܝܫ ܐܘܪܚܐ ܕܦܠܫܬ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܐ ܠܡܩܨܡ ܩܨܡܐ ܫܕܐ ܓܐܪܐ ܘܫܐܠ ܒܦܬܟܪ̈ܐ ܚܙܐ ܒܫܘܒܚܗ

the Lord Yahweh says: “Remove the turban, and take off the crown. This will not be as it was. Exalt that which is low, and humble that which is high.

ܘܒܝܡܝܢܗ ܗܘܐ ܩܨܡܐ ܥܠ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܕܢܟܡܢ ܥܠܝܗ̇ ܟܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܘܢܦܬܚ ܦܘܡܗ ܒܥܘܫܢܗ ܘܢܪܝܡ ܩܠܗ ܒܩܥܬܐ ܘܢܩܝܡ ܬ̈ܠܠܐ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܬܪ̈ܥܝܗ̇ ܘܢܟܡܢ ܟܡܐ̈ܢܐ ܘܢܒܢܐ ܕܘܩ̈ܐ
dwq' wnbn' km'n' wnkmn threyh lwqbl thll' wnqym bqeth' qlh wnrym bewshnh pwmh wnpthkh km'n' elyh dnkmn 'wrshlm el qtsm' hw' wbymynh
I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it.”’

“You, son of man, prophesy and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says this concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach: “A sword! A sword is drawn! It is polished for the slaughter, to cause it to devour, that it may be as lightning;

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܕܟܪܬܘܢ ܥܘ̣ܠܟܘܢ ܒܫܒܝܬܐ ܕܚ̈ܛܗܝܟܘܢ ܘܚܙܝܬܘܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܝܟܘܢ ܘܟܠܗܝܢ ܨܢܥܬ̈ܟܘܢ ܒܐܝܕܐ ܬܬܚܕܘܢ

while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day has come in the time of the iniquity of the end.

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܛܢܦܐ ܚܛܝܐ ܪܒܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܡܛܐ ܝܘܡܟ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܘ̣ܠܟ ܘܚܪܬܟ
wkhrthk dewlk wzbn' ywmk dmT' d'ysryl rb' khTy' Tnp' dyn 'nth
Cause it to return into its sheath. In the place where you were created, in the land of your birth, I will judge you.

ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܣܒ ܡܢܟ ܡܨܢܦܬܐ ܘܐܢܝܚ ܡܢܟ ܟܠܝܠܐ ܡܟܝܟܐ ܐܪܝܡ ܘܪܡܐ ܐܡܟ
'mk wrm' 'rym mkyk' klyl' mnk w'nykh mtsnpth' mnk sb mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn'
I will pour out my indignation on you. I will blow on you with the fire of my wrath. I will deliver you into the hand of brutish men, skillful to destroy.

ܘܐܦ ܗܕܐ ܠܥܘ̣ܠܐ ܘܠܥܬܐ ܐܥܒܕܝܗ̇ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܡ̇ܢ ܕܕܝܠܗ ܗܘ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܐܫܠܡܝܘܗܝ ܠܗ

You will be for fuel to the fire. Your blood will be in the middle of the land. You will be remembered no more; for I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”’”

ܥܠ ܚܙܘܟܘܢ ܣܪܝܩܐ ܘܥܠ ܩܨܡܟܘܢ ܕܓܠܐ ܠܡܬܠܟ ܥܠ ܨܘܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܕܚ̈ܛܝܐ ܥ̇ܘ̈ܠܐ ܕܡܛܐ ܝܘܡܗܘܢ ܘܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܘ̇ܠܗܘܢ ܘܩܨܗܘܢ
