והוה בשתא שביעתא בחמשא בעסרא לירחא אמר נביא אתו גברין מסבי ישראל למתבע אולפן מן קדם יי ויתיבו קדמי:
qdmy wythybw yy qdm mn awlpn lmthbe yshral msby gbryn athw nbya amr lyrkha besra bkhmsha shbyetha bshtha whwh
In the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Yahweh, and sat before me.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עמי למימר:
lmymr emy yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

בר אדם אתנבי לסבי ישראל ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי אלהים הלמתבע אולפן מן קדמי אתון אתן קים אנא אם אשתאיל לכון במימרי אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr bmymry lkwn ashthayl am ana qym athn athwn qdmy mn awlpn hlmthbe alhym yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr yshral lsby athnby adm br
“Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “I will not be inquired of by you.”’

התוכח יתהון התוכח בר אדם ית תועבת אבהתהון הודעינון:
hwdeynwn abhthhwn thwebth yth adm br hthwkkh ythhwn hthwkkh
“Will you judge them, son of man? Will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers.

ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי אלהים ביומא דאתרעיתי בישראל וקימית להון במימרי לזרעא דבית יעקב ואתגליתי למפרקהון בארעא דמצרים וקימית במימרי להון למימר אנא יי אלהכון:
alhkwn yy ana lmymr lhwn bmymry wqymyth dmtsrym barea lmprqhwn wathglythy yeqb dbyth lzrea bmymry lhwn wqymyth byshral dathreythy bywma alhym yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr
Tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, ‘I am Yahweh your God;’

ביומא ההוא קימית להון במימרי לאפקותהון מארעא דמצרים לארעא דיהבית להון עבדא חלב ודבש תושבחא היא לכל מדינתא:
mdyntha lkl hya thwshbkha wdbsh khlb ebda lhwn dyhbyth larea dmtsrym marea lapqwthhwn bmymry lhwn qymyth hhwa bywma
in that day I swore to them to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

ואמרית להון גבר ית שקוצוהי ארחיקו מקביל עינוהי ובפולחן טעות מצראי לא תסתאבון אנא יי אלהכון:
alhkwn yy ana thsthabwn la mtsray Tewth wbpwlkhn eynwhy mqbyl arkhyqw shqwtswhy yth gbr lhwn wamryth
I said to them, ‘Each of you throw away the abominations of his eyes. Don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.’

וסריבו על מימרי ולא אבו לקבלא לנביי גבר ית שקוצי עיניהון לא ארחיקו וית פולחן טעות מצראי לא שבקו ואמרית למשפך חימתי עליהון דיחול רוגזי בהון בגו ארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym area bgw bhwn rwgzy dykhwl elyhwn khymthy lmshpk wamryth shbqw la mtsray Tewth pwlkhn wyth arkhyqw la eynyhwn shqwtsy yth gbr lnbyy lqbla abw wla mymry el wsrybw
“‘“But they rebelled against me and wouldn’t listen to me. They didn’t all throw away the abominations of their eyes. They also didn’t forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the middle of the land of Egypt.

ועבדית בדיל שמי בדיל דלא יתחל לעיני עממיא די אינון ביניהון דאתגליתי למפרקהון לעיניהון לאפקותהון מארעא דמצרים:
dmtsrym marea lapqwthhwn leynyhwn lmprqhwn dathglythy bynyhwn aynwn dy emmya leyny ythkhl dla bdyl shmy bdyl webdyth
But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

ואפיקתינון מארעא דמצרים ואעלתינון למדברא:
lmdbra waelthynwn dmtsrym marea wapyqthynwn
So I caused them to go out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness.
11
ויהבית להון ית קימי וית דיני הודעית יתהון דאם יעביד יתהון אנשא ויחי בהון בחיי עלמא:
elma bkhyy bhwn wykhy ansha ythhwn yebyd dam ythhwn hwdeyth dyny wyth qymy yth lhwn wyhbyth
I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he will live in them.

ואף ית יומי שביא דילי יהבית להון למהוי לאת בין מימרי וביניהון למדע ארי אנא יי מקדשיהון:
mqdshyhwn yy ana ary lmde wbynyhwn mymry byn lath lmhwy lhwn yhbyth dyly shbya ywmy yth wap
Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.

וסריבו על מימרי בית ישראל במדברא בקימי לא הליכו וית דיני קצו דאם יעביד יתהון אנשא וייחי בהון חיי עלמא וית יומי שביא דילי אחילו לחדא ואמרית למשפך חמתי עליהון במדברא לשיציותהון:
lshytsywthhwn bmdbra elyhwn khmthy lmshpk wamryth lkhda akhylw dyly shbya ywmy wyth elma khyy bhwn wyykhy ansha ythhwn yebyd dam qtsw dyny wyth hlykw la bqymy bmdbra yshral byth mymry el wsrybw
“‘“But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keeps, he shall live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

ועבדית בדיל שמי בדיל דלא יתחל לעיני עממיא דאפיקתינון לעיניהון:
leynyhwn dapyqthynwn emmya leyny ythkhl dla bdyl shmy bdyl webdyth
But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

ואף אנא קימת במימרי להון במדברא בדיל דלא לאעלא יתהון לארעא די יהבית עבדא חלב ודבש תושבחא היא לכל מדינתא:
mdyntha lkl hya thwshbkha wdbsh khlb ebda yhbyth dy larea ythhwn laela dla bdyl bmdbra lhwn bmymry qymth ana wap
Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands,

חלף די בדיני קצו וית קימי לא הליכו בהון וית יומי שביא דילי אחילו ארי בתר פולחן טעותהון לבהון טעי:
Tey lbhwn Tewthhwn pwlkhn bthr ary akhylw dyly shbya ywmy wyth bhwn hlykw la qymy wyth qtsw bdyny dy khlp
because they rejected my ordinances, and didn’t walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
17
וחס מימרי עליהון מלחבלותהון ולא עבדית עמהון גמירא במדברא:
bmdbra gmyra emhwn ebdyth wla mlkhblwthhwn elyhwn mymry wkhs
Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn’t destroy them. I didn’t make a full end of them in the wilderness.

ואמרית לבניהון במדברא בגזירת אבהתכון לא תהכון וית נימוסיהון לא תטרון ובפולחן טעותהון לא תסתאבון:
thsthabwn la Tewthhwn wbpwlkhn thTrwn la nymwsyhwn wyth thhkwn la abhthkwn bgzyrth bmdbra lbnyhwn wamryth
I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers. Don’t observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.
19
אנא יי אלהכון בקימי הליכו וית דיני טרו ועבידו יתהון:
ythhwn webydw Trw dyny wyth hlykw bqymy alhkwn yy ana
I am Yahweh your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them.
20
וית יומי שביא דילי קדישו ויהון לאת בין מימרי וביניכון למידע ארי אנא יי אלהכון:
alhkwn yy ana ary lmyde wbynykwn mymry byn lath wyhwn qdyshw dyly shbya ywmy wyth
Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.’

וסריבו על מימרי בניא בקימי לא הליכו וית דיני לא נטרו למעבד יתהון דאם יעביד יתהון אנשא ויחי בהון בחיי עלמא ית יומי שביא דילי אחילו ואמרית למשפך חימתי עליהון דיחול רוגזי בהון במדברא:
bmdbra bhwn rwgzy dykhwl elyhwn khymthy lmshpk wamryth akhylw dyly shbya ywmy yth elma bkhyy bhwn wykhy ansha ythhwn yebyd dam ythhwn lmebd nTrw la dyny wyth hlykw la bqymy bnya mymry el wsrybw
“‘“But the children rebelled against me. They didn’t walk in my statutes, and didn’t keep my ordinances to do them, which if a man does, he shall live in them. They profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
22
ואתיב ית מחת גבורתי ועבדית בדיל שמי בדיל דלא יתחל לעיני עממיא דאפקית יתהון לעיניהון:
leynyhwn ythhwn dapqyth emmya leyny ythkhl dla bdyl shmy bdyl webdyth gbwrthy mkhth yth wathyb
Nevertheless I withdrew my hand and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
23
אף אנא קימית במימרי להון במדברא לאגלאה יתהון לביני עממיא ולבדרא יתהון במדינתא:
bmdyntha ythhwn wlbdra emmya lbyny ythhwn laglah bmdbra lhwn bmymry qymyth ana ap
Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations and disperse them through the countries,

חלף דדיני לא עבדו ובקימי קצו וית יומי שביא דילי אחילו ובתר טעות אבהתהון הואה עיניהון:
eynyhwn hwah abhthhwn Tewth wbthr akhylw dyly shbya ywmy wyth qtsw wbqymy ebdw la ddyny khlp
because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.
25
ואף אנא מדמרדו במימרי ולא אבו לקבלא לנביאי ארחיקתינון ומסרתינון ביד שנאיהון ובתר יצריהון טפשא אזלו ועבדו גזירן דלא תקנן ונימוסין דלא אתקימתון בהון:
bhwn athqymthwn dla wnymwsyn thqnn dla gzyrn webdw azlw Tpsha ytsryhwn wbthr shnayhwn byd wmsrthynwn arkhyqthynwn lnbyay lqbla abw wla bmymry mdmrdw ana wap
Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they couldn’t live.
26
וסאיבית יתהון במתנתהון באעברא כל פתח ולדא בדיל דאצדינון בדיל דידעון די אנא יי:
yy ana dy dydewn bdyl datsdynwn bdyl wlda pthkh kl baebra bmthnthhwn ythhwn wsaybyth
I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused all that opens the womb to pass through the fire, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Yahweh.”’

בכן אתנבי לבית ישראל בר אדם ותימר להון כדנן אמר יי אלהים עוד דא ארגיזו קדמי אבהתכון בדשקרו במימרי שקר:
shqr bmymry bdshqrw abhthkwn qdmy argyzw da ewd alhym yy amr kdnn lhwn wthymr adm br yshral lbyth athnby bkn
“Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Moreover, in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

ואעילתינון לארעא דקימית במימרי למתן יתה להון וחזו כל רמא מנטלא וכל אילן עבוף ונכיסו תמן ארגזא קורבניהון ושויאו תמן פולחן דבחיהון ונסיכו תמן ית נכסיהון:
nksyhwn yth thmn wnsykw dbkhyhwn pwlkhn thmn wshwyaw qwrbnyhwn argza thmn wnkysw ebwp ayln wkl mnTla rma kl wkhzw lhwn ythh lmthn bmymry dqymyth larea waeylthynwn
For when I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There they also made their pleasant aroma, and there they poured out their drink offerings.
29
ואמרית להון מא במתא דאתון אתן לאשתטאה תמן ואתקרי שמה במתא עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed bmtha shmh wathqry thmn lashthTah athn dathwn bmtha ma lhwn wamryth
Then I said to them, ‘What does the high place where you go mean?’ So its name is called Bamah to this day.”’

בכן אמר לבית ישראל כדנן אמר יי אלהים הבאורח אבהתכון אתון מסתאבין ובתר שקוציהון אתון טען:
Ten athwn shqwtsyhwn wbthr msthabyn athwn abhthkwn hbawrkh alhym yy amr kdnn yshral lbyth amr bkn
“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? Do you play the prostitute after their abominations?

ובמטל מתנתיכון באעברא בניכון בנורא אתון מסתאבין לכל פולחן טעותכון עד יומא דין ואנא אשתאיל לכון במימרי בית ישראל קים אנא אמר יי אלהים אם אשתאין לכון במימרי:
bmymry lkwn ashthayn am alhym yy amr ana qym yshral byth bmymry lkwn ashthayl wana dyn ywma ed Tewthkwn pwlkhn lkl msthabyn athwn bnwra bnykwn baebra mthnthykwn wbmTl
When you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? Should I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you!
32
ודאתון מהרהרין ודסליקת על לבכון קדמי גלין דאתון אמרין נהי כעממיא כזרעית מדינתא לשמשא אעא ואבנא:
wabna aea lshmsha mdyntha kzreyth kemmya nhy amryn dathwn glyn qdmy lbkwn el wdslyqth mhrhryn wdathwn
“‘“That which comes into your mind will not be at all, in that you say, ‘We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.’
33
קים אנא אמר יי אלהים אם לא ביד תקיפא ובדרעא מרומם וברגז שפיך אמלוך עליכון:
elykwn amlwk shpyk wbrgz mrwmm wbdrea thqypa byd la am alhym yy amr ana qym
As I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, I will be king over you.
34
ואפיק יתכון מביני עממיא ואכניש יתכון מן מדינתא דאתבדרתון בהון ביד תקיפא ובדרעא מרומם וברגז שפיך:
shpyk wbrgz mrwmm wbdrea thqypa byd bhwn dathbdrthwn mdyntha mn ythkwn waknysh emmya mbyny ythkwn wapyq
I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.
35
ואעיל יתכון למדבר עממיא ואתפרע מנכון תמן אפין באפין:
bapyn apyn thmn mnkwn wathpre emmya lmdbr ythkwn waeyl
I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.
36
כמא דאתפרעית מן אבהתכון במדברא ארעא דמצרים כן אתפרע מנכון אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr mnkwn athpre kn dmtsrym area bmdbra abhthkwn mn dathpreyth kma
Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you,” says the Lord Yahweh.
37
ואניח עליכון גזירת דיני ואעיל יתכון במסורת קימא:
qyma bmswrth ythkwn waeyl dyny gzyrth elykwn wanykh
“I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.
38
ואפריש מנכון די מרדו ודי שקרו במימרי מארעא תותבותהון אפיק יתהון ולארעא דישראל לא יעלון ותידעון ארי אנא יי:
yy ana ary wthydewn yelwn la dyshral wlarea ythhwn apyq thwthbwthhwn marea bmymry shqrw wdy mrdw dy mnkwn waprysh
I will purge out from among you the rebels and those who disobey me. I will bring them out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”
39
ואתון בית ישראל כדנן אמר יי אלהים גבר פולחן טעותה אזילו פלחו ובתר דתבתון ליתיכון צבן לקבלא למימרי וית שמא דקודשי לא תחלון עוד במתנתכון ובטעותכון:
wbTewthkwn bmthnthkwn ewd thkhlwn la dqwdshy shma wyth lmymry lqbla tsbn lythykwn dthbthwn wbthr plkhw azylw Tewthh pwlkhn gbr alhym yy amr kdnn yshral byth wathwn
“‘As for you, house of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says: “Go, everyone serve his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but you shall no more profane my holy name with your gifts and with your idols.

ארי בטור קודשי בטור קודשא דישראל אמר יי אלהים תמן יפלחון קדמי כל בית ישראל כולהון בארעא חייא תמן יתקבל קורבניהון בפריע ותמן אתבע ית אפרשותכון וית ריש אצותכון בכל קודשיכון:
qwdshykwn bkl atswthkwn rysh wyth aprshwthkwn yth athbe wthmn bprye qwrbnyhwn ythqbl thmn khyya barea kwlhwn yshral byth kl qdmy yplkhwn thmn alhym yy amr dyshral qwdsha bTwr qwdshy bTwr ary
For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh, “there all the house of Israel, all of them, shall serve me in the land. There I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.
41
קורבן לרעוא יתקבל קורבנכון בפריע כד אפיק יתכון מביני עממיא ואכניש יתכון מן מדינתא דאתבדרתון בהן ואתקדש בכון לעיני עממיא:
emmya leyny bkwn wathqdsh bhn dathbdrthwn mdyntha mn ythkwn waknysh emmya mbyny ythkwn apyq kd bprye qwrbnkwn ythqbl lrewa qwrbn
I will accept you as a pleasant aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered. I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
42
ותידעון ארי אנא יי כד אעיל יתכון לארעא דישראל די קימית במימרי למתן יתה לאבהתכון:
labhthkwn ythh lmthn bmymry qymyth dy dyshral larea ythkwn aeyl kd yy ana ary wthydewn
You will know that I am Yahweh when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.
43
ותדכרון תמן ית אורחתכון וית כל עובדיכון דאסתאבתון בהון ותידנקון ותהון חזן בכל בישתכון דעבדתון:
debdthwn byshthkwn bkl khzn wthhwn wthydnqwn bhwn dasthabthwn ewbdykwn kl wyth awrkhthkwn yth thmn wthdkrwn
There you will remember your ways, and all your deeds in which you have polluted yourselves. Then you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

ותידעון ארי אנא יי כד אעביד עמכון בדיל שמי לא כאורחתכון בישתא וכעובדיכון מחבליא בית ישראל אמר יי אלהים:
alhym yy amr yshral byth mkhblya wkewbdykwn byshtha kawrkhthkwn la shmy bdyl emkwn aebyd kd yy ana ary wthydewn
You will know that I am Yahweh, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”
