ܒܪܢܫܐ ܡܢܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܩܝܣܐ ܕܓܦܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܠ ܩܝܣ ܫܒܫܬܐ ܕܗܘܬ ܒܩ̈ܝܣܐ ܕܥܒܐ
deb' bqys' dhwth shbshth' qys kl mn dgpth' lqys' nhw' mn' brnsh'
“Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine branch which is among the trees of the forest?

ܕܠܡܐ ܡܬܢܣܒ ܡܢܗ̇ ܩܝܣܐ ܠܡܥܒܕ ܡܢܗ̇ ܥܒ̇ܕܐ ܐܘ ܢܣ̇ܒܝܢ ܡܢܗ̇ ܣܟܬܐ ܠܡܬܠܐ ܒܗ̇ ܡܐ̈ܢܐ
m'n' bh lmthl' skth' mnh nsbyn 'w ebd' mnh lmebd qys' mnh mthnsb dlm'
Will wood be taken of it to make anything? Will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel on it?

ܐܠܐ ܐܬܝܗܒܬ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܢܘܪܐ ܘܬܪ̈ܬܝܢ ܣܘ̈ܟܝܗ̇ ܐܟܠܬ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܓܘܗ̇ ܚܪܒ ܕܠܡܐ ܐܙܠܐ ܠܥܒ̇ܕܐ
lebd' 'zl' dlm' khrb wgwh nwr' 'klth swkyh wthrthyn lnwr' m'kwlth' 'thyhbth 'l'
Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and the middle of it is burned. Is it profitable for any work?

ܘܟܕ ܕܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܗܘܬ ܠܐ ܐܙܠܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܥܒ̇ܕܐ ܗܫܐ ܕܐܟܠܬܗ̇ ܢܘܪܐ ܘܚܪܒܬ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܐܙܠܐ ܠܥܒ̇ܕܐ
lebd' 'zl' 'ykn' wkhrbth nwr' d'klthh hsh' lebd' hwth 'zl' l' hwth mwm ddl' wkd
Behold, when it was whole, it was suitable for no work. How much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it has been burned, will it yet be suitable for any work?”

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܗ̇ܒܬ ܩܝܣܐ ܕܓܦܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܩܝ̈ܣܐ ܕܥܒܐ ܡܐܟܘܠܬܐ ܠܢܘܪܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܝܗ̇ܒܬ ܠܥܡܘܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܕܐܘܪܫܠܡ
d'wrshlm lemwryh yhbth hkn' lnwr' m'kwlth' deb' qys' klhwn mn dgpth' qys' dyhbth 'yk mrwth' mr' 'mr hkn' hn' mTl
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “As the vine wood among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

ܘܐܬܠ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܒܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܢܘܪܐ ܢܦܩܘ ܘܢܘܪܐ ܬܐܟܘܠ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܣܡ̇ܬ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn rwgzy dsmth m' mry' 'n' d'n' wthdewn 'nwn th'kwl wnwr' npqw nwr' mn bhwn rwgzy w'thl
I will set my face against them. They will go out from the fire, but the fire will still devour them. Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.
