והוה בתלתין שנין לזמן דאשכח חלקיה כהנא רבא ספרא דאוריתא בבית מקדשא בעזרתא תחות אולמא בפלגות ליליא בתר מעלני סיהרא ביומי יאשיה בר אמון מלך שבטא דבית יהודה בתמוז בחמשא לירחא אמר נביא ואנא בגו בני גלותא על נהר כבר אתפתחו שמיא וחזית בחיזו נבואה די שרת עלי חיזו יקר שכנתא דיי:
dyy shkntha yqr khyzw ely shrth dy nbwah bkhyzw wkhzyth shmya athpthkhw kbr nhr el glwtha bny bgw wana nbya amr lyrkha bkhmsha bthmwz yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlk amwn br yashyh bywmy syhra melny bthr lylya bplgwth awlma thkhwth bezrtha mqdsha bbyth dawrytha spra rba khna khlqyh dashkkh lzmn shnyn bthlthyn whwh
Now in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

בחמשא לירחא היא שתא חמשתא לגלות מלכא יויכין:
ywykyn mlka lglwth khmshtha shtha hya lyrkha bkhmsha
In the fifth of the month, which was the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity,

מהוי הוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם יחזקאל בר בוזי כהנא בארעא דישראל תב תנינות ואתמלל עמיה במדינת ארע כסדאי על נהר כבר ושרת עלוהי תמן רוח נבואה מן קדם יי:
yy qdm mn nbwah rwkh thmn elwhy wshrth kbr nhr el ksday are bmdynth emyh wathmll thnynwth thb dyshral barea khna bwzy br ykhzqal em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm hwh mhwy
Yahweh’s word came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and Yahweh’s hand was there on him.

וחזית והא רוח עלעולא אתי מן צפונא ענן רב ואשתא משתלהבא וזיהורא ליה סחור סחור ומגו עננא ומגו עלעולא כעין חשמלא מגו אשתא:
ashtha mgw khshmla keyn elewla wmgw enna wmgw skhwr skhwr lyh wzyhwra mshthlhba washtha rb enn tspwna mn athy elewla rwkh wha wkhzyth
I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north: a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of the middle of it as it were glowing metal, out of the middle of the fire.

ומגוה דמות ארבע ברין ודין חזויהון דמות אנשא להין:
lhyn ansha dmwth khzwyhwn wdyn bryn arbe dmwth wmgwh
Out of its center came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: They had the likeness of a man.

וארבעא אפין לחדא וארבע אפין לכל חד וחד שתא עסר אפין לבריתא חדא מנין אפיא דארבע ברין שתין וארבעא אפין וארבעה גפין לחדא וארבעא גפין לכל חד וחד שתת עסר לכל אפא ואפא שתין וארבעא גפין לבריתא חדא והוו מנין גפיא דארבע ברין מאתן וחמשין ושתא גפין:
gpyn wshtha wkhmshyn mathn bryn darbe gpya mnyn whww khda lbrytha gpyn warbea shthyn wapa apa lkl esr shthth wkhd khd lkl gpyn warbea lkhda gpyn warbeh apyn warbea shthyn bryn darbe apya mnyn khda lbrytha apyn esr shtha wkhd khd lkl apyn warbe lkhda apyn warbea
Everyone had four faces, and each one of them had four wings.

ורגליהון רגלין כיונן ופרסת רגליהון כפרסת רגלית סגלגלן ומזיען עלמא במהכהן ומנצנצן כעין נחש מצלהב:
mtslhb nkhsh keyn wmntsntsn bmhkhn elma wmzyen sglgln rglyth kprsth rglyhwn wprsth kywnn rglyn wrglyhwn
Their feet were straight feet. The sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot; and they sparkled like burnished bronze.

וידין כידי אנשא עביד להון מתחות גפיהון על ארבע סטריהון למחתי בהן גומרין דאשא מביני כרוביא מתחות רקיעא דעל רישיהון למתן על חופני סרפיא למזרק על אתר רשיעיא לאבדא חיביא עברי מימריה ואפיהון וגפיהון שוי לארבעתהן:
larbethhn shwy wgpyhwn wapyhwn mymryh ebry khybya labda rshyeya athr el lmzrq srpya khwpny el lmthn ryshyhwn del rqyea mthkhwth krwbya mbyny dasha gwmryn bhn lmkhthy sTryhwn arbe el gpyhwn mthkhwth lhwn ebyd ansha kydy wydyn
They had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides. The four of them had their faces and their wings like this:

מכונן חדא לקביל חדא גפיהון לא מתחזרין במיזלהן בריא לקביל אפהא אזלן:
azln apha lqbyl brya bmyzlhn mthkhzryn la gpyhwn khda lqbyl khda mkwnn
Their wings were joined to one another. They didn’t turn when they went. Each one went straight forward.

ודמות אפיהון אפי אנשא ואפי אריא עביד מימינא לארבעתהן ואפי תורא עביד מסמלא לארבעתהן ואפי נשרא לארבעתהן:
larbethhn nshra wapy larbethhn msmla ebyd thwra wapy larbethhn mymyna ebyd arya wapy ansha apy apyhwn wdmwth
As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man. The four of them had the face of a lion on the right side. The four of them had the face of an ox on the left side. The four of them also had the face of an eagle.

ואפיהן וגפיהן פרישין מלעלא לחדא תרתין מכונן חדא ותרתין מכסן ית גויתהין:
gwythhyn yth mksn wthrthyn khda mkwnn thrthyn lkhda mlela pryshyn wgpyhn wapyhn
Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above. Two wings of each one touched another, and two covered their bodies.

ובריא לקבל אפהא אזלא לאתר דתהוי תמן רעוא למיזל אזלל לא מתחזרן במיזלהן:
bmyzlhn mthkhzrn la azll lmyzl rewa thmn dthhwy lathr azla apha lqbl wbrya
Each one went straight forward. Where the spirit was to go, they went. They didn’t turn when they went.

ודמות בריתא חזויהן כגומרין דאשא בערן כחזו בעוריא אשתא משתלהבא בין בריתא וזיהוריא לאשתא ומן אשתא נפיק ברקא:
brqa npyq ashtha wmn lashtha wzyhwrya brytha byn mshthlhba ashtha bewrya kkhzw bern dasha kgwmryn khzwyhn brytha wdmwth
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches. The fire went up and down among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and lightning went out of the fire.

ובריתא באשתלחותהין למעבד רעות רבונהן דאשרי שכינתיה במרומא עלא מנהן באנפא עינא למחזי חזרן ומקפן ומכסן ית עלמא ותיבין בריתא כחדא וקלילן כחיזו ברקא:
brqa kkhyzw wqlyln kkhda brytha wthybyn elma yth wmksn wmqpn khzrn lmkhzy eyna banpa mnhn ela bmrwma shkynthyh dashry rbwnhn rewth lmebd bashthlkhwthhyn wbrytha
The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

וחזית בריתא והא גלגל חד משתוי במלרע לרום שמיא בסטר בריתא לארבע אפוהי:
apwhy larbe brytha bsTr shmya lrwm bmlre mshthwy khd glgl wha brytha wkhzyth
Now as I saw the living creatures, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, for each of the four faces of it.

חיזו גלגליא ועובדיהון כעין אבן טבא ודמות חד לארבעתהן וחזוהן ועובדיהן כמא דהוי גלגל בגו גלגל:
glgl bgw glgl dhwy kma wewbdyhn wkhzwhn larbethhn khd wdmwth Tba abn keyn wewbdyhwn glglya khyzw
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like a beryl. The four of them had one likeness. Their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel.

על ארבעא סטריהן במיזלהן אזלין לא מתחזרין במיזלהן:
bmyzlhn mthkhzryn la azlyn bmyzlhn sTryhn arbea el
When they went, they went in their four directions. They didn’t turn when they went.
18
וגביהן שון לקיבלא רקיעא ורומא להן ודחילין אנון וגביהן מלן עינין סחור סחור לארבעתהן:
larbethhn skhwr skhwr eynyn mln wgbyhn anwn wdkhylyn lhn wrwma rqyea lqybla shwn wgbyhn
As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and the four of them had their rims full of eyes all around.

ובמיזל בריתא אזלין גלגליא לקבליהן ובאתרמא בריתא במלרע לרום שמיא מתרמין לגלגליא:
lglglya mthrmyn shmya lrwm bmlre brytha wbathrma lqblyhn glglya azlyn brytha wbmyzl
When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them. When the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

על אתר דהוי תמן רעוא למיזל אזלין לתמן רעוא למיזל וגלגליא מתרמין לקבלהן ארי כרוח בריתא בגלגליא:
bglglya brytha krwkh ary lqblhn mthrmyn wglglya lmyzl rewa lthmn azlyn lmyzl rewa thmn dhwy athr el
Wherever the spirit was to go, they went. The spirit was to go there. The wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

במיזלהון אזלין ובמקמהון קימין ובאתרמהון כמלרע לרום שמיא מתרמין גלגליא לקבליהון ארי כרוח בריתא בגלגליא:
bglglya brytha krwkh ary lqblyhwn glglya mthrmyn shmya lrwm kmlre wbathrmhwn qymyn wbmqmhwn azlyn bmyzlhwn
When those went, these went. When those stood, these stood. When those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
22
ודמות על רישי בריתא רקיעא כעין גליד חסין מרכן על רישיהון מלעלא:
mlela ryshyhwn el mrkn khsyn glyd keyn rqyea brytha ryshy el wdmwth
Over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like an awesome crystal to look at, stretched out over their heads above.

ותחות רקיעא גפיהון מכונן חדא לקביל חדא לחדא תרתין מכסין להן ולחדא תרתין מכסין להן ית גויתהן:
gwythhn yth lhn mksyn thrthyn wlkhda lhn mksyn thrthyn lkhda khda lqbyl khda mkwnn gpyhwn rqyea wthkhwth
Under the expanse, their wings were straight, one toward the other. Each one had two which covered on this side, and each one had two which covered their bodies on that side.

ושמעית ית קל גפיהן כקל מיין סגיאין כקלא מן קדם שדי במהכהן קל מלוליהן כד מודן ומברכין ית רבונהון קימא מלך עלמיא כקל משרית מלאכי מרומא במקמהן משתקן גפיהן מן קדם דבורא:
dbwra qdm mn gpyhn mshthqn bmqmhn mrwma mlaky mshryth kql elmya mlk qyma rbwnhwn yth wmbrkyn mwdn kd mlwlyhn ql bmhkhn shdy qdm mn kqla sgyayn myyn kql gpyhn ql yth wshmeyth
When they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of an army. When they stood, they let down their wings.

ובזמן דהוי רעוא קדמוהי לאשמעא די דבורא לעבדוהי נביי ישראל הוי קלא ומשתמע מעלוי רקיעא מבין כרוביא מתחות רקיעא די על רישיהון במקמהן משתקן גפיהן מן קדם דבורא:
dbwra qdm mn gpyhn mshthqn bmqmhn ryshyhwn el dy rqyea mthkhwth krwbya mbyn rqyea melwy wmshthme qla hwy yshral nbyy lebdwhy dbwra dy lashmea qdmwhy rewa dhwy wbzmn
There was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads. When they stood, they let down their wings.

ומעלוי רקיעא די על רישיהון כחזו אבן טבא דמות כורסיא ועל דמות כורסיא דמות כחיזו אנשא עלוהי מלעלא:
mlela elwhy ansha kkhyzw dmwth kwrsya dmwth wel kwrsya dmwth Tba abn kkhzw ryshyhwn el dy rqyea wmelwy
Above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone. On the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man on it above.

וחזית כעין חשמלא כחיזו אשתא מגיו לה סחור סחור חיזו יקר דלא יכילא עינא למחזי ולא אפשר לאסתכלא ביה ולעלא חיזו יקר דלא יכילא עינא למחזי ולא אפשר לאסתכלא ביה ולרע חזיתי כחיזו אשתא וזיהורא ליה סחור סחור:
skhwr skhwr lyh wzyhwra ashtha kkhyzw khzythy wlre byh lasthkla apshr wla lmkhzy eyna ykyla dla yqr khyzw wlela byh lasthkla apshr wla lmkhzy eyna ykyla dla yqr khyzw skhwr skhwr lh mgyw ashtha kkhyzw khshmla keyn wkhzyth
I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it all around, from the appearance of his waist and upward; and from the appearance of his waist and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him.

כחיזו קשתא דהוי בעננא ביומא דמטרא כן חיזו זיהורא סחור סחור הוא חיזו דמות יקרא דיי וחזית ואשתטחית על אפי ושמעית קל דמתמלל:
dmthmll ql wshmeyth apy el washthTkhyth wkhzyth dyy yqra dmwth khyzw hwa skhwr skhwr zyhwra khyzw kn dmTra bywma benna dhwy qshtha kkhyzw
As the appearance of the rainbow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of Yahweh’s glory. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
